Relish in City of London, Westminster

A gem found when visiting Tate Britain. Good value , great food. Lovely service. A few tables inside. Concept a bit like Subway but so much nicer. Choose your bread, add filling then salad and sauce. I had a huge herb foccaccia filled with chicken, bacon, avocado and salad. Plus a tea total £9. Support great independents.

Perfect poached eggs. The breakfast menu included some quirky dishes (think Algerian) but the staples were there. Attentive and accommodating staff. Great for a Sunday morning.

This is the best sandwich shop in South West London. The sandwiches and employees here are pretty amazing though as are the prices!!! Great service and high quality. I highly recommend

J'ai pris le menu à 10 livres ( un paquet de chips, une boisson et un sandwich). Le sandwich était très bien assaisonné et très anglais. Il y a des options végétariennes (voire vegan je pense).

This Cafe was very nice. I had same delicious vegetarian sandwiches, at all the choice of vegetarian food is good. The coffee is awesome. The staff was noice and kind I am looking forward to visit this establishment again Written by Lord Fl_Oreo III.

I have visited twice and each time i saw Cafe is very clean. Also staff are very friendly as well as serving food speedy. The new interior design is also very cosy. Their homemade soups are always delicious.

Just around the corner from Tate Britain and with a massive choice of breads and fillings. Been ages since I had salt beef as nice as from Relish

I’m from the states and it has been difficult to find good sandwich shops in London. Relish is delicious and friendly. Fresh ingredients that always taste great. The shop makes me feel like I have a bit of home across the pond.

New management and staff, staff isn’t very friendly and it takes 20-30 mins for a sandwich. Sandwiches no longer include a salad and are £7 just for a standard sandwich with chicken and bacon. Even the chicken and bacon is microwaved and warmed up.

Relish was delicious! A very good price for London and many great options on the menu. Plus, the staff were extremely kind. Would definitely recommend!

Wow really amazing little gem of a sandwich shop. Ordered a few meals as passing by seeing it really busy inside and was not disappointed at all. All meals were made to order also with really great recommendation's by the chef. Great little family run shop.

They make lovely breakfast sandwiches, a bit pricey, though. Bought a bacon and egg sandwich for more than £4.

A pleasant, delightful, unexpected and convenient find, on that otherwise tiresome zigzag walk from Pimlico tube to the side entrance of Tate Britain. Not having had breakfast it was perfect for a couple of freshly made sandwiches and a first rate coffee. Friendly staff, affable customers and a laid back space.

Very nice friendly people here but sadly my jacket potato tasted a bit stale and was just microwaved judging by the taste and appearance. Also the bread was okay but just not great quality. It's a shame as I was expecting a lot better based on the ratings here.

I stumbled across this place by chance and unearthed an absolute gem of a shop. I was looking for a sandwich shop but didn’t want to use Subway or the like. Looking for somewhere to eat I turned a corner and Relish was waiting for me. The menu choice is fantastic and prices are reasonable for what you get. The personal touches are much appreciated 👍🏻

I struggle to find sandwiches to eat on the go as I don’t eat butter so was pleased to find this shop on my way back from Tate Britain. Had a sumptuous cheese salad granary bap prepared for me. Two lovely guys in the store. Will definitely be back.

Stopped by on my way to the Tate Britain and had a delicious ham, cheese and salad sandwich plus a good cuppa. The range of sandwiches and filled rolls available is bewildering not to mention the different choices of bread you can have! The staff are very friendly and considering that everything is made to order, it's pretty quick. They have a couple of tables inside the shop so you can eat in if you wish but the majority of customers were taking their sandwiches away. Very good value!!

Stumbled across this little cafe whilst visiting the Tate Britain gallery , we had coffees to go but promised to return for lunch as all the menus as ingredients were fresh , looked delicious . We later returned to collect some food to go ! . The staff were so friendly and happy to see us both . I can review the food was absolutely fresh and delicious . We will definitely be returning and recommending to others . Best wishes mum & daughter from Portsmouth .

Lovely little cafe near the Tate Britain. Excellent if you’d like a snack and don’t want to pay Tate prices and bored with the Pret menu. Full of locals too. I had the baked potato.

This superb little cafe is a favourite of mine. I regularly come here for lunch and when I have colleagues from abroad visiting this is where I bring them every time. The staff are superb, warm welcoming and very efficient. The sandwiches are generously filled with top quality ingredients . My favourite is the relish club!

Visité Relish el 17 de abril con mi madre cuando nos dirigíamos a la Tate y sentíamos hambre. Tan pronto como entramos por esa puerta, se notaba el calor de los servidores; una sonrisa en su rostro y una amistad que era real (algo que no se obtiene a menudo). El diseño de los rellenos de sándwich estaba limpio, ordenado y todo parecía delicioso. Decidimos ir a por un sándwich de tocino y aguacate para mi mamá y salmón ahumado y un sándwich de crema para mí, así como un café con leche y una moca. El servicio rápido y los sándwiches estaban recién preparados frente a nosotros, el aguacate recién cortado. Todo lo que cuesta menos de 10, tiene una buena relación calidad-precio y definitivamente se espera más debido a su ubicación y la cantidad de comida que obtenemos. Yo habría adjuntado una imagen de la comida, ¡pero tenía muchas ganas de comerla!

Muy cerca de Tate Britain, este modesto bar de sándwiches de gestión familiar sirve una increíble variedad de sándwiches, panecillos y ciabattas recién hechos. Si no te gustan esas sopas caseras, papas al horno, quiche, lasaña, samosas, pasteles, etc. Todo hecho a pedido para comer o para llevar, además de bebidas frías y calientes. Está impecablemente limpio, el servicio es excelente y tiene un valor increíble. Un gran lugar para recargar antes o después de la Tate.

This cafe is worth a visit. In a high end part of town very reasonable snacks and good coffee, very friendly staff. Near the Tate Britain.

Après 10 min de recherche, car bien cacher, on se retrouve dans un lieu où le sandwich est roi. Bien loin du subway ou autre sandwicheries de chaînes, ici les pains sont moelleux et la garniture est gourmande. Un excellent rapport qualité prix (car le sandwich est à 5£) qui comblera un estomac de taille normale!!!! Il est vrai que le personnel est pressé, mais en même temps le local ce trouve dans une zone de travail, donc coup de feu oblige. Éloigné du centre et des lieux touristiques (le quartier est très calme), je recommande d'y aller faire un tour, vous ne serez pas déçu!

We dropped in here for a late lunch after visiting Tate Britain, in much need of some sustenance. The freshly made toasted rolls were packed with fillings and very tasty - we left very contented.

Love stopping by here when I'm in town for lunch. Sandwiches made whilst you wait, without any plastic ingredients. Great dishes like lasagne or lovely pies also available. Super service, with friendly banter.

Comimos allí en el camino de vuelta a la estación de metro de Pimlico después de visitar la Tate Britain. El almuerzo especial (4 libras lasaña, 10 pence) era una generosa porción con un lado de ensalada verde. Nos quedamos muy sorprendidos cómo sabroso todo era. La tienda vende una amplia variedad de sándwiches fríos y calientes, que no probamos, pero el lugar estaba lleno de gente, lo cual es siempre una buena señal.

El personal es muy amable, la gran variedad de sándwiches y comida caliente. Muy buena relación calidad-precio, sorprendentemente barato para Londres. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar. Sólo hay unas pocas mesas, pero el servicio es rápido y la comida es de tamaño generoso. Realmente disfrutamos el pollo y bacon sandwich en rollo de hierbas. Sin duda daría si están en las inmediaciones.

Tienda de embutidos con mucho tiron entre la gente del barrio y a 5 min de la Tate Britain en la que preparan sandwiches de multitud de variedades.Eliges el tipo de pan y el relleno.Los comimos de roast beef y de pollo, pero alli la gente pide de todo.Cuestan en torno a las 4 libras, estan ricos, los sirven con esmero y son contundentes.Tiene unas pocas mesas para sentarse.Si se esta por la zona es el sitio indicado para comer bien y barato.

Un salto en el camino de la Tate, que está a la vuelta de la esquina. Es mucho más barato que el café galería, la comida (rollo de salmón y queso crema) fue fantástico y el servicio era excelente. Muy satisfecho de encontrar en una parte de Londres que había asumido era caro.

I ordered a spinach/egg/cheese roll. The sandwich maker, who had just served the previous customer with a sandwich involving a handful of bacon pieces which she'd more-or-less thrown in the direction of his sandwich, didn't clean up her mess and put my bread onto the remaining bacon pieces. I pointed out that I was vegetarian; she brushed the pieces of bacon off my bread ... I said no (quite loudly by now) ... she swept most of the bacon off the chopping board with her knife, cut another roll for me (with the same knife) and put the roll onto the same, bacon-y board. I'd lost it by then. I pointed out (very loudly) that this was completely unacceptable and walked out. They offer a fast but casual service, but the food contamination seems to me to present quite a health hazard, as well as being incompatible with vegetarianism, and people with other dietary restrictions whether medical or religious. Plenty of other sandwich places in the area: go to one of them instead of Relish!

No es lo que una vez fue, aunque todavía ofrecen bocadillos decentes y comida para llevar, ideal si en la zona de Millbank.

Used to regularly visit here, although sometimes a little pricey the food was substantial and of great quality. The relish club was brimming with an entire breast of chicken, freshly cut in front of you...Unfortunately, this isn't the case anymore... the fillings are meagre, the chicken is no longer freshly cut (looked like prepacked) and fillings that used to be included are now considered 'extras'. If you're spending £5-7.50 on lunch you're better off with Pret down the road. Such a shame.

Very good staff offering excellent service and very good sandwiches wide range of fillings, along with hot food and beverages, ideal if in Westminster worth a visit.

Surprised Relish so highly rated as seemed very average London café. We had ciabata sandwiches - one tuna mix the other chicken mix - and neither were particularly good (not a patch on Pret a Manger). Lemon slice cake pre-wrapped was good. Coffee good. Service poor.

I often stay at the nearby Doubletree Westminster Hotel & whenever I do I always call here for a great value freshly prepared sandwich. Not only is it cheaper than most pre-packed offerings from coffee & snack bars but the quality is far superior.There is a wide choice of breads & fillings served both hot & cold. This place is very popular with local office workers & can be very busy. Nevertheless, it is well staffed & service is normally pretty swift.Well worth a try for a cheap & good quality snack lunch.

Having a week long course just round the corner from Relish I was conscious of the classic trap of hotel breakfast+dinner out so wanted to have choices at lunchtime. Relish gives those in abundance. Fresh rolls, paninis & baguettes are waiting to be filled with a great selection of fresh fillings. You can also have all these in a salad box which was a refreshing change. The daily specials were always tempting and the soups were a welcome alternative. Plenty of veggie options too. The long queue was always speedily served and it was always with a smile. Refreshing to find an independent that's doing what it should. Playing the chains at their own game and winning - hands down.

Had a really nice lunch here on our way to Tate Britain. Panini, ciabatta etc with a large selection of fillings and extras, assembled on the spot by friendly staff. Also hot food, such as lasagne. Recommend mushroom and spinach quiche. Excellent coffee, piping hot, reasonably priced. Only three small tables (8 seats) but mostly it's people coming in for takeaway lunches. The queue is long but moves quickly as the staff are so efficient. Would have loved to go back for another coffee after visiting the Tate but unfortunately it closes at 3pm.

Going to the NPG or Westminster? Try Relish on John Islip Street 2mins from Pimlico Tube. Great coffee, super food, helpful staff, only 8 seats, a queue round the block, full of repeat customers in an area where they have got loads of choice. What better recommendation can a place get? If I worked or lived in the area I'd be there every day!

Déjeuner du mercredi 14 août 2013. Tout d'abord, tel une chasse au trésor, il faut chercher ce petit coin niché à 10 min à pied de Westminster dans une petite rue. Une fois devant, on se demande ce qu'il peut y avoir dans ce petit local qui ne paye pas de mine. Une fois rentré, un large choix de différents pain vous est proposé, du chiabatta au pain aux céréales. Nous avons pris un sandwish complet poulet bacon, légumes grillés et cheddar. Une agréable découverte. La preuve du succès, même à 15h30 cela ne désemplit pas.Loin des coins touristiques, ce lieu de connaisseur n'est à pas rater, pour un prix correct entre 6 et 9 £ le sandwish

We stayed at the Hilton Hotel on the same street for a w/end break, we popped in here on our first morning, I had crispy bacon and brie on a ciabatta and a coffee and it was lovely, would have came in on our other mornings as well but we had breakfast included in our hotel.

I don't really know why Relish is on here - it's not even a restaurant. It's a sandwich shop that opens for breakfast through to lunch and even then the term "sandwich" shop belittles Relish as they do so much more.In fact Relish is all about the how, not the what to be truthful. In fact there's nothing about Relish's menu that particularly distinguishes it from the plethora of other sandwich shops. It's how they make the food that really makes Relish a gem.Small bits of detail like chicken and avocado sandwich made with "real" chicken, oven roasted breasts, sliced there and then (usually a whole breast for a sandwich) combined with fresh avocado, also sliced at the point of manufacturer.For those of you looking for something more satisfying, Relish also does a range of hot and more substantial cold food, like quiche and lasagne. These change round from time to time too.Relish is how all sandwich shops should be - honest food. Not this "shredded" or wafer thin stuff, but ingredients honestly prepared.If you're going to the Tate Britain - Relish is highly recommended to pick a sandwich that's more than edible. If you work in Pimlico... well you're probably already a regular anyway.

Just wandered past here having stayed at the Mint Hotel.Have just eaten possibly the best bacon roll of my life, honestly!Great little deli!
