Sheila's Cafe in City of London, Westminster

This was the greatest breakfast experiment I've ever had. Waited for 20 minutes in the pouring rain for admission, but it paid off. I got a very good and rich full English breakfast. The atmosphere inside is also unique, the staff is friendly and helpful.

The best: the staff. The man who served us was extremely friendly and kind, and the portions are very generous and an excellent price for what London is usually like when you travel as a tourist. Highly recommended if you are in the area!

Sadly my experience was not as good as everyone else's. We had done some research before arriving to London, reading the reviews of this place we had quite high expectations. Limited seating meant we had to be located downstairs in a kind of under passage. The toilets are located through their store cupboard which was a bit of a strange experience, didn't quite expect to be navigating around crates of eggs and washing machines. Food was 'ok'. Bacon was low quality, scrambled eggs were more like overdone pieces of omelette, sausages were over cooked and not the best. £12 for a full English breakfast is London prices but the quality wasn't there. £5 for a small fresh orange juice made my eyes water a bit 😳. However, very nice coffee and very nice toast. Could not fault the coffee (very good) and the staff were extremely polite, helpful and friendly.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! The owners' good mood is contagious and they do their very best to fit everyone into the small space. We didn't mind waiting for a couple of minutes for our table, the food was well worth the wait. And they even managed to accommodate the food allergy of our friend!

The food was good and the staff was friendly but the place was insanely crowded. I'm confused how this place has such high ratings, there is no space in there. It's visible on one of the photo's but somehow I realised this too late.

Naja... Das Essen ist gut und sehr frisch aber der Frühstücksraum ist winzig. Viel zu viele Tische in einem viel zu kleinen Raum. Die Atmosphäre würde ich nicht als 'gemütlich' bezeichnen.

An absolute insider tip if you are in the area A really very small shop but this one has it all. There is space in the smallest hut and you can really take that literally but...the breakfast was super delicious. The staff is super friendly and even if you are alone and come to a table with other guests you feel like a local. We'd love to come back

Good food, great service! There is limited seating, but wasn’t too busy when we visited so we were able to get a table. The food was great! This was my first time enjoying a full English breakfast with the beans and all, and would come back to Sheila’s to eat again! They have special fresh, homemade orange juice that was tasty too. The service was great and friendly. Highly recommend for a breakfast/brunch while in London!

The typical English breakfast we were looking for, a stone's throw from our hotel and very close to Hyde Park. Inside the place is very small, but the waiter was kind enough to take us into the courtyard under the stairs to seat 7 of us with the children. Everything was delicious, especially the typical breakfast.

Visited Shelia’s cafe today 1st April 2024, two adults and one child. We all had the full breakfast and two coffees. Son didn’t have a drink, bill was £43. Unfortunately not one of us had a clean plate and left food as it wasn’t great. Bacon was hard, sausage was nothing special & eggs were very greasy. It’s a shame as came here last year with a few colleagues from work and everything seemed a higher standard then. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning here again. On a plus note the staff were very friendly.

A place with personality! 🤩 🏠Sheila's Café is a small place where the tables are close together. This may seem uncomfortable to many people, but I find it gives it a warm and intimate touch. 💵 The price is normal for London. Paying almost €20 for breakfast may seem crazy, but I think it's worth it. Personally, I think the value for money is good. 🥞 I recommend the full breakfast: the typical English breakfast with all the details. Additionally, I recommend having it mid-morning as a brunch. It is very very forceful and will satisfy you. ☕ The cappuccino is spectacular! 🤵🏻‍♂️ The service is excellent, friendly and close. Matia is a professional at what he does.

Sheila’s Café is definitely a must! We were staying at a hotel close to it and we find it by chance. It is a nice, cozy and friendly little café where all the food is carefully done by a charming team. If we come back to London anytime we will for sure come back to Sheila’s Café!

Popped in to Sheila’s cafe for a full breakfast after a birthday stop over in London. The staff were the loveliest people and made my birthday extra special! Sung me happy birthday and even treated us to a little fizz! I will be coming here every time I am in London! Just the loveliest atmosphere and how life should be! Thank you!

Good place for a breakfast or a snack off Hyde park

I stopped there every morning while I was in London for breakfast.... that was 2016 and I still talk about this place. Some of the best food and service I've had in my travels 😊

We stayed a block away for four nights on a spring trip to London. It’s a busy little breakfast place close to Lancaster Gate underground station. Simon and staff made us feel like old friends and fed us a terrific breakfast three times during our stay. Fair prices (for London) and accommodating service. The breakfast sandwich is massive, and the other breakfasts tasty and well prepared. It gets busy, so you may need to wait a little.

Breakfast was tasty and sufficient. The cappuccino was large and delicious. Small place, but very cozy and atmospheric. The service was friendly. This was a nice way to start the day.

First day in London. Must try local breakfast. Sheila gave that and more. Food was good, place was cozy and service excellent. If there were negatives, it's just that the place is small and have limited seating. So be there early unless you want to takeaway.

Small but cozy cafe with warm smile and welcome. I ordered full English breakfast with the freshly squeezed orange juice. The food was served quickly, the taste was wonderful. I was there on 14 March, as a tourist from South Korea, greeted ‘mucho gracias’ :) Yes this place is absolutely worth revisiting!

Great little Cafe, that provide great fast breakfast food. Only 20 or so seats, but everybody is attended by the owner herself. I had the breakfast roll, that had fresh fried eggs, Sausages and bacon on a huge roll (bun) and a fresh Americano. The food and coffee came out fast. This is the place to go for a quick, wholesome start to your day.

100% recommendable, it is a small place and you will eat cramped, but the food makes up for it, excellent service and everything very good. All staff were very friendly, decent price for London. If I return to London one day I will have breakfast here again for sure.

We were unfortunately in the seats below ground, which I understand the need to monetise every available square inch but this leads to a cramped area near the bins in which to enjoy our breakfast. The food itself was fine, not something to write home about, the staff were lovely though!

The food itself, very basic and without decoration. Mediocre quality. They sat us downstairs where the heater was burning my head, next to some garbage containers. We didn't like it and we didn't return.

Just what you want in a cafe. Decent size cooked breakfast and a cuppa. (A vegetarian option is available.) Breakfast and a cup of tea £14.80. The cafe is quite small seating for probably 20, but that would be uncomfortably full, I think. I arrived at about 0745 and it was already busy. Staff were great. The cafe had steps leading up to it.

The only drawback is that it is a very small place. If you don't mind eating very close to people, it's great. We had breakfast there every day, and the waiter was already waiting for us. Nice little cafe to grab a quick breakast! Although the "house special" is the full English breakfast, we had toasts with peanut butter and capuccinos. Both were lovely! Service was also very good and nothing to fault. The lady that served us was super nice and quirky, adding to the atmosphere of the place. All in all a nice place to grab a morning bite!

What a fantastic, cozy cafe with great food and atmosphere. We sat outside which was lovely and the service we received Yanna was 1st class with a great welcoming smile. The cafe is only small so the wait for a table will be well worth your time.

Quality and very friendly staff. We went two mornings for breakfast as it was close to our hotel. The place is very small, but the staff found us a nice table on the terrace with a heated lamp. Special mention to the omelettes and the english breakfast!

Ikke imponerende - var overbetalt og kedeligt, og der var meget lidt plads. Betjeningen var hjertevarm, men vores kaffe smagte ikke rigtig af noget, tilbehør til omelet kostede 4 pund ekstra, og både æg og brød var lidt kantine-agtigt kedeligt. Så vi forstår ikke rigtig, hvorfor folk gladeligt smider 5 stjerner efter dem. Næsten 40 pund for 2 personer; så skal der også være noget at komme efter. Men vi kommer ikke tilbage.

Perfect place with homemade and abundant breakfast

The place is typical. It's very small but that's what gives it its charm. This is the place to go if you want to eat a typical English breakfast. The staff is warm and the cuisine simple but effective. If you want a place, you have to get there before 9am or wait outside for a table to become available. Despite a small problem waiting for our order, the staff was very kind and attentive.

I traveled about an hour just to come to this beautiful place, and I tell you that it feels like home, the breakfast is delicious and very complete and something very important that Mr. Matt (sorry if his name is not spelled that way) He is charming, kind and charismatic, I would return a thousand times more. Parfait petit déjeuner anglais. Un petit resto qui ne paie pas de mine, où l’espace est réduit mais où on s’y sent comme à la maison. Le tenancier est très aimable et le service rapide. Un vrai plaisir!

Cosy and quick, you might have to wait at busy times but it's worth it. Atmosphere is lovely with people from all over the world chatting and the staff are lovely. Food is good too

My daughter and I were stranded in London overnight due to train issues and this place provided us with a cosy place for breakfast at the screech of dawn, with warm, yummy food. We shared a big English breakfast which was really nicely cooked and also had a good strong black coffee and a lovely smoothy. The staff were really welcoming and kind and let my daughter use their loo in the basement too. A small little cafe with a big heart.

Sheila’s Cafe is super lovely. We were in search of an afternoon tea with scones and were not disappointed! Wonderful food and service, will definitely visit again. The fryup also looks lush!

How do I begin? This cafe saved us. We had just left paddington station hungover after a 2 hour train journey. On the table was a framed photo of a full English. We pointed to it "two of those please" meanwhile Fleetwood Mac's Dreams played in the background. Within 5 minutes we were presented with a meal of impeccable likeness to it's framed portrait, accompanied by a strong black coffee and orange juice, the quality of which can not be fully put into words. I will think about this place for weeks, no maybe months to come. Likley to form a core memory for me, and hopefully for you too.

Our visit to Sheila’s Cafe for breakfast was a delightful and memorable one! We were staying in the Kensington area of London, so it was a short jaunt. We were immediately greeted by staff who were very kind and pleasant and interacted with us often during our visit. It is a small and homey place that offered a diverse menu of breakfast options. The food was delicious and plentiful and provided a great start to our last day of sightseeing in London! I would definitely recommend Sheila’s Cafe to those staying in that area of the city!

Great delicious breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly and the host was very flexible giving us both 2 sausages instead of bacon and 1 sausage. Definitely coming back here

This was such an amazing spot for breakfast over the last few days. The value for money was great especially compared to the hotel we were staying in. The breakfast rolls were to die for and the English breakfast lived up to its name. The best part overall was the customer service. The workers were so so so friendly and were delighted to see us come in every-time. Once you walk in everyone is really welcoming and will accommodate you greatly. We ended up going 3 out of the 4 days we went and we really should have done 4/4

The last time that I was at the cafe, I mistakenly got freshly squeezed orange juice spilled all over my pants and David sprung into action, found me a spot downstairs to go get cleaned up, washed and taken care of! Calidad frescura y amabilidad. Eso define a este lugar. El sitio es muy pequeño pero lo que le restó puntos es que la mesa no se sostenía bien, la típica mesa que tambalea. Recomendable 100 por ciento. Además de todo ves como hacen tu comida. Recomendable 100 por ciento si pasas cerca de hyde park.

Myself and my son visited the cafe in December because of the reviews however we were disappointed by the quality of the food. The bacon and the sausages are precooked and stored in tubs above the frying plate. This means that when they are reheated...

Excellent breakfast in Hyde Park area. I got the full English and my husband got the roll with bacon, sausage and egg. Both were delightful. The bread here is AMAZING. The place was very busy but the service was still fantastic.

Only went there due to high reviews, cafe was packed full and the proprietor, who is a salesman essentially, convinced us to wait at a spot under the cafe to wait out a table ( for 10 minutes). We ordered our coffee and had to wait 20 minutes without a table when we decided to ditch and paid 11 pounds for them. It is a very normal cafe, doesn't justify the hype or the wait and the manager should have been more forthcoming with time wait estimatimation. Not worth it....

Breakfast in grandpas kitchen. We love it 💕 and we will miss it It was so yummy and the Lonon fog my daysafer. We ca absolutely recommend this pretty tiny Cafe. We will be back for sure next time again.

Genial lugar, es pequeño pero son encantadores, desayunos buenísimos. Totalmente aconsejable si vas por esa zona y quieres desayunar. La tortilla de Jamón y queso es espectacularmente buenas y las acompañan con unas tostadas con mantequilla. También tienen el típico desayuno inglés que también esta delicioso, aquello que dicen que unas judías de buena mañana no sientan bien.. mentira es espectacular. Por eso mismo les doy un 10. Si vuelvo a Londres parada abrigatoria sin duda.

This morning we had breakfast at Sheila's cafe in London. The food was really super tasty and the staff were so incredibly friendly! This breakfast cafe is highly recommended when you are in London!

fried eggs served practically raw to hurry up. the egg white must cook. Eggs cannot be delivered with the egg white still gelatinous and not even white. so we can get sick with salmonella. Furthermore the price is expensive compared to the place. you can find much better for its price.
