London is one of my favorite cities in the world (I’ve been there six times thus far and I am constantly thinking about what I would like to do during a future visit!). I have great memories of my visit to London in December 2022 as it was my first time visiting the city to witness the Holiday festivities. My dad booked a junior suite at the St James and this was our first time staying in a Taj property outside of India (I have stayed at the Taj in New Delhi and the Taj Holiday Village in Goa during previous trips to India in the past); the hospitality in Taj properties is always great and it was interesting to experience this in London (e.g., the staff would come and knock on hotel guests' doors in the evening and offer chai and Indian snacks). During our six-night stay, we did our regular rounds of sightseeing and saw the Christmas decorations in different parts of the city (the decorations at Harrods look amazing at this time of year); we also visited Buckingham Palace quite a few times as our hotel was nearby. For our second to last night in London (which was NYE), I purchased tickets for the NYE party that was held at TH@51; the event included a plated dinner, live entertainment and a dessert buffet for GBP 150/person. There were many other families at the event (most of them were Indian and were staying at the hotel). While the overall party was a dragged, I am glad we bought tickets for this event; for me, the highlights of the evening were the dessert buffet (which I loved because there were a ton of different Indian desserts) and the small firecracker display in the courtyard area of the hotel which took place at midnight. Filial piety is a big deal in Indian culture and while the party was a bit of a drag, it was good to be surrounded by other families (who also looked like they were slightly bored up until the fireworks show..). The crowd seemed like the type who isn’t into any form of debauchery - they are the types that would rather get bored with their families on NYE than to go out and party (these are the type of people my family and I limit our social interactions to). The NYE decorations were tastefully done and this was a nice way to end off the year. While London may not always be at the at top of the list for many people as a place to spend their vacation during Christmas week, I highly suggest you consider looking into visiting during this time of year as the city is beautifully done up for the holidays.

I had a very good steak in here. Service is good and the chef care a lot about customers. Also I had the breakfast from the hotel and is good.

While the food was a good fusion between Indian and Modern European, the service left a lot to be desired. We waited 20 minutes for a bottle of English sparkling wine to arrive, which was not served suitably chilled; the very good food arrived promptly afterwards. Once finished, we ordered dessert, then waited another 25 minutes, complained, and only then did it arrive, which was frankly too late. When it came to paying the bill, the servers were not apologetic in the least, took an age to remove the service charge, and took a further five minutes to actually process the bill. To be clear, there were plenty of servers and very few covers, so I cannot understand the delays experienced throughout. Despite the food and wine, I could not recommend this dining experience.

We visited on Saturday afternoon for the bottomless Brunch. The food was amazing and the brunch menu excellent value. Thoroughly recommend the steak! The hotel and restaurant is lovely and we had great service. Will definitely return.

Such an amazing ambiance! It’s off the beaten path but offers all the accoutrements you would find on a main avenue. Kaustaubh and Shankary were extremely pleasant. They catered to every request. Shankary gave great food recommendations. The atmosphere, the food, the vibe - TH@51 offers it all. You will not be disappointed; we will return!

We had to wait long and the drinks were really disgusting. but really nice place to look at.

I can honestly say one of worse dining experiences I have had in long time. Enticed by instagram won’t fall for that again, very poor standard of food ,to be fair they offered a replacement but having waited over an hour I declined ,staff need more training as they spent more time chatting to each other we had to clear our own starter plates as got fed up looking at them , my first ever complaint and I eat out at least twice a week ,for London was very poor

On my business trip to London. I was LUCKY to be given the same section to so and had the pleasure of amazing service from Deepa! She was polite, conscientious and most importantly KIND! I received amazing service from ALL the Taj staff but hers stood out above the rest!

The service here by Jennifer was great and welcoming but unfortunately when our 2 steaks arrived they were woefully overcooked and when they offered to replace there were no more ribeyes, to which they offered me a fillet replacement. Located inside Taj - one of India’s finest hotel chain - this is indeed a fancy place to go for dinner for special occasions. Not the best in terms of authentic spicy Indian food would like to have but you go here more for just the experience, nice ambience and setting inside a fancy hotel. Service was good and overall experience was alright.

This is a lovely restaurant located inside the Taj Hotel. We had bottomless brunch with two courses and free flowing belinis (Prosecco and peach purée) and cobra beer. The service started off slow but got better throughout the sitting. The live performances were great, two men with guitars and mic provided great entertainment whilst dining. The price was £50 plus service. Good value.

Great pleasant atmosphere and we sat in the conservatory so overlooking beautiful garden. Being a group of ladies we spent hours with no one bothering us. The service team are nice but lack experience and management. There was a lot of confusion, wait and misunderstanding. As for food best to stick to Indian. The Indian dishes were nice but not exceptional. Other international dishes looked good but didn’t taste as good eg Welsh lamb roast. Would go again but for afternoon tea.

Tried the bottomless brunch and it was just fine, not one of the best meals. The dessert options were a bit disappointing as they were more of breakfast like pancakes, French toast, waffles, etc.

Below average food, no service - you have to ask for everything twice, pour all your own drinks, chase the bill. All the food is mediocre at best, and on par with a Youngs pub menu

I was disappointed I from Paris I went to this restaurant for brunch because I saw on instagram but the brunch is only on week-ends they didn’t mention on instagram I am a tourist i saw on instagram and I went they told me it’s mention only the website. Sorry but as a tourist I just check instagram and I booked. The restaurant management wasted my time.

I loved their combination of British and Indian breakfast that was included in our room rate. Their breakfast buffet was full of varieties and everything was so fresh! A big surprise that I must mention here: in addition to the buffet, you can order breakfast plates from menu!!! We ordered dosa, uttapam, …, and Indian coffee & tea and loved all of them! The seating area was fantastic, too. We were sitting indoor in huge sun room facing courtyard. That made the breakfast experience so nice! Staff were super friendly. Particularly, Rupinder was the best!

Went here to celebrate a birthday for a close friend. Experience was a complete 10/10. Beautiful, royal, grand entrance to the restaurant from a street very close to St James Park station. Service was impeccable. Definitely the best I have received out of all restaurants I have dined at in London. Special credits to our head waitress Shankary who really went out of her way to ensure the birthday celebration was a memorable event. All of the staff were incredibly kind and polite. Food was amazing; we were particularly impressed by the presentation. It was very carefully made, wonderful to the eye and so delicious. Many thanks to the chef Raj Kumar Rana, who also specially made my close friend a birthday cake dessert! Seating is very comfy and lots of opportunities for some pretty pictures in the restaurant, around the hotel and especially in the beautiful garden. Will definitely be coming back - highly recommend this place!

My recent experience for breakfast at Th@51 was great. However, what truly set this dining experience apart was the hospitality shown by Rupinder. Her attention to detail, eagerness to assist, and genuine warmth made us feel incredibly welcome and valued. It's rare to encounter someone so dedicated and proficient in ensuring guests' satisfaction. I would recommend this establishment not just for the food but for the exceptional service, particularly by Rupinder, who undoubtedly makes every visit special.

For a different breakfast we usually opt for Thai or Vietnamese but saw this and thought it would be interesting, what a great choice we made, the food and staff were wonderful, they helped us make a great selection, we opted for the dosa which was delicious, not cheap but the quality of the food was deserving of the price. Beautiful place, will go again.

As always Taj never disappoints. We have a rule not to include breakfast in our Europe/UK stay but of course Taj is the exception to this rule because of good food. Especially for Indians, they have varied hot menu and the service is very good. Friendly and welcoming staff with prompt service. Special mention to Rupinder for her assistance and warm nature.

Our experience at was exceptional. The atmosphere was inviting, and the staff, especially Duncan, were incredibly hospitable. Duncan’s service was outstanding, offering personalized recommendations and ensuring our comfort throughout the evening.

Lovely coming through the hotel and then this was a very disappointing meal. The service was quite odd, we were given one menu between five of us and had to ask multiple times for more. I don't know if it the menu or servers were new but the team didn't know about the menu. There was no one avaliable to make the special cocktails and even the basic cocktails were not brilliant. The restaurant was nicely decorated but fairly empty which was a shame as there wasn't much atmosphere. As for the food there was a few good bits (maslala chips) but everything was under seasoned or completely not seasoned at all and some things written on the menu were not on the dishes. The risotto was tasteless stodgy rice and the sugar on the creme brulee was incorrect and burnt. There is no toilet in the restaurant and it was quite a way to get to the hotel one. We will not be back.

Great place for breakfast. Our server daily was Smruti who'was excellent. She was very attentive, always smiling and extremely nice.

Very unpleasant service 2 of the staff were in front of us on a stocking table to hang the Christmas decorations while we ate (1 p.m.) It was not good, my chicken was not cooked, my sister and I took a truffle puree as an accompaniment which was served almost cold, so she asked to reheat it and the waiters, reluctantly, ended up doing so. . Long wait even though we were only 3 tables in this restaurant. Very disappointed !

Words can barely describe the hospitality and warmth which the staff team has 👍. A special mention for Mr. Duncan who made sure all the arrangements are top notch. Our table was attended by mr pranav and mr pancham both have done a wonderful job by timely service and courtesy. The food is as delicious as it can be. It's an amazing fine dining experience serving authentic Indian cuisine. From the house of Taj group from India, each and every dish was made meticulously and yummylicious. We had Lamb Seekh Kebab, Chicken Reshmi Kebab and Chaat for starters. As part of the Diwali celebration, we were served with Thandai👌 as welcome drink. The Mains came as a complete royal thali treatment. The platter had Saag, Dum Aloo, Butter Chicken, Prawn Curry, Pilau Rice, Salads, Papad along with Butter Naan, Roti, and Paratha. The food just melted in our mouth. The hospitality was mind-blowing. Would highly recommend and definitely coming back soon.

I had the fabulous evening and a perfect family dinner at TH@51 Restaurant and bar. The food and service was extremely perfect and comfortable because of Mr. Duncan who made our evening even more special with the excellent service and warmth.

we went for a Diwali Thali dinner, great service and excellent food. the desert course wasn't part of the Thali dinner and had to be ordered separately...which was annoying and very strange.

Had their breakfast buffet as part of our stay at the St. James Court Hotel. The restaurant was quite busy and there was a queue of guests waiting to be seated delite numerous tables at the entrance of the restaurant being vacant. We were sat within 10 minutes. The food spiciness and hotness is definately toned down to suit the western palette. The omelette was perfectly cooked. The aloo (potato) parantha wasn't the crispiest but flavor was toned down. The bacon at the buffet table was good but, a little salty. Fruits were good.

I have tried the North Indian Diwali thali, the best food I have ever had. Moreover, the service provided by Mr Duncan and his team is very good. I suggest everyone try the Diwali special thali.

Looking for great food in central London. Fantastic green curry chicken and veggies, with fluffy rice and crispy naan.

Me and my partner went here for our anniversary and we got a lovely surprise. The menu is very well labelled with gluten free and vegetarian, there should be a bit more dishes that do both but it was okay and easy to read. We both got small plates as a starter. Mine came in the shape of sushi rolls but there was no chopsticks. I was told to use my cutlery but it broke apart so I used my hands. The food wasn’t the best tasting but the experience was amazing. The anniversary dessert the chef kindly made gluten free for me was so delicious and made my evening. They need heating though because it was freezing and the lighting was too bright so it wasn’t very romantic. We were not charged for our dessert which was lovely. It was £140 for starters, mains and prosecco. I would definitely come back but make sure you dress up or you will feel out of place.

All I want to add about this location is the fact that the place where the restaurant is located is truly magical. If you like to serve a coffee in the open air, with a beautiful view, without crowding around, this is the perfect place. The restaurant and the place where it is located has an Italian touch, which is perfect for taking some very instagrammable pictures. The food is delicious, the menu is not overly expensive as it sounds here, you can also find Italian food. The service is very good, all employees are very responsive.

Terrible service, don’t come here expecting it to be worth the prices. £20 for a small dish and £50+ for a bottle of wine should mean the service is impeccable. Unfortunately it’s worse service than honest burger - at least they provide me with the food I ask for and walk me through the menu (despite it being half the size of this one). Food is tasty but very one dimensional, not worth the price. It took 1 hour to get a bottle of wine and we had almost finished our food before they served it to us. The waitress was rude and removed my plate before I had finished eating, without asking if I was finished despite my partner still eating himself. Came here for our 10 year anniversary and it’s a disgrace to itself. If the prices were £2 for a small dish then I would understand but at 10x the price, the service is not up to standard. So much potential completely ruined by those who manage the place and waiters/waitresses terribly trained.

Very nice surroundings if you can find a spot to dine in the courtyard area. Friendly service. The food was very good if you stick with the Indian inspired dishes, especially the chaats.

Visited for my birthday upon recommendation from an influencer who seemed thorough and fair re. restaurant reviews. Unfortunately, it was v disappointing. I’d say all style no substance, but the style wasn’t present much either. The first red flag was the reviews - I’ve never seen an “upscale” restaurant have such large gaps between testimonials. Then, communication prior to arrival was poor. If you call, you can’t reach the restaurant. Nonetheless I still gave it a chance. Everything is overpriced. Any restaurant that overcharges sets themselves up for guests expecting a flawless experience. I had the sirloin steak. It was okay, however the waiter handled my dietary restrictions poorly. He didn’t serve chips, as according to him, it contained allergens. I then mentioned it would have been good if he had informed me I could get a swap etc. beforehand, instead of serving one side less. He then said the chef would prep vegetables. He didn’t ask me what I wanted, just that I would be given more veggies. Upon nearly finishing my steak, I was brought chips. I was so confused. Needless to say, I requested removal of service charge. The best part of dining here was the harpist. All in all, the restaurant is managed v poorly. You can get better dining experiences for half the price, elsewhere.

I called them to book a table for 11 people in the courtyard, it was a bit strange, I was speaking to the right person who does the reservations, I did mention that our guests would have pre drinks, 3 course meal and some drinks after basically wanted to spend whole evening there. Initially he was hesitant setting a table to 11 in the courtyard and then he gave an option of terrace on the first floor and indoors option, and then he said he could try fit in 11 people in the courtyard, then he said there will be minimum spend of £100 per person for booking 11 people table :-), all I wanted was to book a table in a restaurant, why the minimum spend is so high ? Our guests are not alcoholic. This is insane. He said he could book separate table but can’t guarantee it will be next to each other if hotel guests want to use it then they would need the table. I don’t understand I am calling well in advance so that they guarantee these arrangements. It somehow I felt that he didn’t wanted this booking and he made it such a way that it’s a restaurant mainly for the hotel guests.

Best food and service I’ve ever had. Amazing hotel and the restaurant, outbid this world. Fusion cuisine Indian and Italian truly mouthwatering. Service so attentive and you feel like you’re in India not in London. Service by Pranav was truly fantastic.
