Lovely venue, food amazing - would recommend the seafood risotto. Staff welcoming, attentive and friendly, decor elegant and pretty, music good and not too loud. Will be back.
Got some of them famous popcorn chicken nuggets. Excellent spice options. Good portion size. Flavour and quality of chicken is tops. Can definitely recommend this place.

Brasserie One is a reasonably priced oasis in Westminster, which is ideal if you want a conversation over a meal. I have always found the service to be very good, with good food and wine. The menu is limited, but I have always managed to find something worth having and that I like. Worth checking out. I keep returning.
Particular sandwich sold out at lunchtime and the staff could only inform me the kitchen is making more but I can not tell you how long. Is the kitchen in another time zone?
We fancied a pasta dinner and as we couldn't get a last minute reservation at our favourite Italian in central London we thought we'd try Cafe Murano, which is the little sister of the Michelin-starred Murano in Mayfair.
Well it wasn't bad but it was just so very very ordinary. Among the starters, the bruschetta and the arancini were fine - in fact the former was a little different from most - and that was laudable - but the portions were small. But these paled into insignificance compared to a standard glass of (red) wine, which must have been the smallest size I've ever seen - and this really left a bad taste in our mouths.
As for mains - the choices were extremely limited - and quite often that's good because those menu items are excellent. Of the three, the skate wing was decent but the sausage ragu and the gnocchi were extremely pedestrian.
This has been on our list of places to eat for some time so as we were at Somerset House, decided to book for lunch. I was planning on ordering the schnitzel but was tempted by the Sunday roast. They don't skimp on the portions so was glad I didn't have breakfast. Everything, including the horseradish and gravy, was really well cooked and there was a generous helping of roast beef. I finished with the baked Alaska and my husband had the strudel. Given the location, it was good value and we had a discount because we had visited Somerset House. The staff were friendly and service was excellent. We will definitely be back for that schnitzel.
