Excellent Friendly service, great food. We both went for the whole plaice for our mains. And a very well selected and manageable wine list. The tables are quite snugly packed in, pretty common for this part of london, so not a place for very private conversations. Will be recommending!

We stumbled on this restaurant while walking around and were lucky enough to get sat at the chefs table. It was such an amazing find. The food was incredible as were the drinks. Our server was also so amazing. I will be back next time I’m in London.

We booked for a pre-theatre dinner and were not disappointed! Amazing service from the minute we arrived, lovely staff, and the food was entirely delicious! The menu and specials were explained perfectly and our waiter was so attentive and friendly. We enjoyed it immensely and will recommend to everyone.

Everything was excellent - especially the food - except we were seated SO close to the table next door, only a few centimetres apart, that it was like we were sitting with them! Awks.

I’ve been to Henri several times and it never let me down. Great spot for a drink- which I recommend having at the bar or by the window- and for a proper meal, with a diverse menu and fresh ingredients that make every dish memorable. The concept is the one of a french bistro with canale, oysters and fried pied de cochon served as snacks. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service add to a perfect dining experience.

A nice place for a quick drink before the theatre but I don’t recommend dining there. The food is average, especially for this price point. It resembles french cuisine but cooked with too much sugar, salt and without proper sauces and spices. Wine was average as well and was served in thick cheap glasses.

Hi, I started with the French Ham which was fine, followed by the Halibut off the Specials Board, £39 for 4oz fillet which had not been seasoned or browned in a pool of clarified butter and capers (which also had a few bones but not the end of the world). staff and service were great.

Food was fantastic, well done Waiting staff need more training please. When I arrived I did not receive a warm welcome, and our two waitresses were curt in their communication with us. I suspect they lacked confidence which is fine, an easy problem to fix with training in customer service. A smile every know and then wouldn’t go amiss. We will come back again!

Somewhat overpriced for quality of food

Henri provided the most wonderful dining experience for our table of 9. Food, wine and service were outstanding and our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive and could not do enough for us. Fantastic experience.

In some ways, we had a fabulous evening at Henri - the food was some of the best I've had in London, the atmosphere was really convivial and the wait staff were all very kind and friendly. However, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't really very busy on the night we went, we had quite a few mishaps. Firstly the waiter brought us the wrong drinks and we had to wait 30 mins for replacements, then another served dropped the pigs trotter croquette over my partner's back. He quickly brought us a replacement but my husband's jacket was covered in sauce and there was no apology or gesture of good will. Another wrong round of drinks followed. And then the wrong meal. All rectified but without much in way of acknowledgement. At the end of the meal we realised we'd been significantly undercharged and brought it to the waiter's attention, hoping that perhaps a round of drinks had been offered on the house given the numerous mix-ups, but the bill was recalculated including a service charge. To be clear, the meal was delicious, we had a decent a night and everyone who we spoke with was charming: perhaps we just had a bout of bad luck. But for the price - and given that we were celebrating a special occasion (and now have a substantial dry cleaner's bill to get the sauce out of my husband's suit) - I was disappointed.

A great addition to Covent Garden. The food is amazing! The menu is varied and all the dishes we had impressed - from starters to dessert (the scallops are a must have!). They have quite an extensive wine list and the sommelier was fantastic, very knowledgeable and didn't hesitate to recommend tasting the wine to ensure we were happy with it. Having said that, the two waitresses serving us were mixed - one gave very basic answers to our questions, the other was quite frankly miserable all night - she clearly was annoyed at some of her colleagues and displayed this on her face, didn't even bother breaking into a smile as she served you. This was quite off-putting. Nonetheless, the food more than makes up for the service so I would still highly recommend this restaurant! NOTE: Some seating is two side by side (i.e. not facing each other across the table). Unless it is a romantic occasion or dinner with your partner you may want to specifically request that you not be allocated these tables as it makes for a awkward business meal or catch-up with a friend.

Fabulous venue for a breakfast business meeting .Quiet, staff attentive but unobtrusive .Food served quickly and hot refills on drinks offered and served as required first class value recomend highly

All the staff were great, friendly and helpful, and helped us move tables to one that had more space either side of it. In particular our dedicated server, Shania, was very knowledgeable about the food when I had questions about ingredients but also good fun when we joked about drinking too much wine or being able to read the menu in the dark. She was the epitome of good service, there when we needed her but not ever intruding on us or our conversation. I persuaded my friend to try and few things so we could try and share, although this was trickier in practice. We chose the oyster granita (just 1 shell) and the seaweed canele (hard to cut in half). I had high hopes for the canele from reviews but it tasted a bit dry, maybe because we tried to share it. Would recommend trying individually. Then we had crab leek and the scallops. The leeks were ok but the scallops were amazing! Perfectly cooked and the sauce underneath to die for. That was liquid gold. Then for our main course we shared half a chicken, with fries and the gem lettuce salad. Again, this was all very delicious and generous portions of everything. For dessert my friend had the chocolate cake and I had the Comte and honey, which was a nice end to the meal. Again the waiting staff were very helpful and patient with the drinks as I picked which to go with the cheese. Only one thing I would change would be the volume of the live piano music or remove completely. At the beginning it was really too loud like a performance that needed attention rather than background music. Overall a very lovely evening with delicious food and wonderful service thank you.

I was delighted to be welcomed back at this marvelous restaurant. Having moved from Italian French must’ve been quite an undertaking. The interior has received a wonderful, refresh as has the menu. My entire experience, from a warm welcome at the door through a brilliant meal, and then, with kind words from the maître d’ to return soon, made for a lovely evening! I must say, the new chef has outdone himself. In addition, it was delightful to have live music during the meal.

We had such a beautiful evening for my husband’s birthday on Sat 28th! The food was absolutely incredible, genuinely some of the best and most creative I’ve ever had, and the service from all of the Henri team we encountered was so warm and accommodating. Our server had a fantastic knowledge of the menu and gave us wonderful recommendations. The atmosphere is so romantic and special, it was exactly what we were hoping for! My only recommendation would be to check more regularly whether diners glasses are empty, as we did have to try to catch attention for another drink. But that’s such a minor point. We left with very happy hearts and stomachs! We can’t wait to come back!

It was good but was not blown away. The staff was a little disorganised. Every question was asked 2X because 2-3 waiters covered the same table at a time—2-3X do you want drinks? And extra glass of wine? Ready to order? After a while it became annoying. Also we had to ask 3x for our bill which then made us lose our reservation at a bar around the corner.

I would have given 4 stars - with the triumph of the meal being the grilled snails - if it wasn't for a stink of a dessert! The riz au lait for 2 would have caused a riot at Wormwood Scrubs: a cold and rigid starch stodgy mass! We sent it back and asked not to have it on the bill, which was agreed upon but without a comment from the kitchen. So a mixed bag

Food was really good, everything we had tasted amazing. However, the size of the main courses was really small and the bill quite high, hence the 3 stars. The service was REALLY slow, not sure what happened with our food but we waited quite a bit for our main courses to come.

Having been to this chefs restaurant in Vauxhall we couldn't wait to try Henri. Wish we had gone elsewhere. Food was decent and enjoyable - it was the hospitality that let it down . The table Space was ridiculously small ( for 2 small people!) . In asking if they could create more space we were told no , it wasn’tPossible, and that a table of 4 would be sitting there . We were there 2.5 hours and no one took that table ! We found the wait staff quite obnoxious - actually abit rude! The bill was wrong and when pointed out to the waitress she had charged us twice for the wine, there was a challenge in such a way that was unnecessary . The final straw - telling me I needed to work out my own bill on my phone to split between 2 people. Such a shame - as they have done no justice to the chef . But I won’t be back and will be telling others not to bother !

Had an early dinner at Henri so restaurant initially was the busy. Staff were friendly and helpful and explained the menu when asked. The jambon with celeriac remoulade starter was a generous portion and good quality although a little bit more remoulade would have been even better . The cod dish too was nice. We ordered a single side portion of fries which again was very generous and the fries very crispy and well made. Wines by the glass were good. We had no room for pudding. Only negatives were how small the tables were and the closeness of them. We were fortunate not to have anyone else sat next to us but if we had it would be like having dinner with another couple! Not great at all. Also the half baguette and butter were expensive at £5. It is a unique touch that it comes in its own paper bag for you to unwrap but this seems an unnecessary waste and cost. Overall we enjoyed our dinner.

My friend and I had dinner at HENRI on a Saturday night. The restaurant, the service, the food, are all chef’s kiss! It’s been a while since we’ve had such good service and attention in a restaurant. The pandemic kind of ruined that for so many places but at HENRI it was obvious they care about the service. Every course we had was delicious. When we picked the wine we got to try a couple before deciding. The ambiance was lovely too. Even when it was full we could still hear each other and it was a fun atmosphere. We just really enjoyed the evening.

It felt like the team were finding their feet last night, good food, some lovely dishes, but hit and miss on service - either too slow / not attentive or not on top of the menu or wine list. The manager did apologise and removed items from the bill, the bar staff were lovely and helpful … so I think we’d give this place another go, and hopefully things run smoother next time

Henri hotels have several locations. Accidentally booked the wrong location. Within five minutes of booking, we received an email stating that we had not booked the correct hotel/place…and whether it could still be changed. Not flexible at all and not thinking along at all…. Had to pay full price... what bad service...

We had a wonderful time last night for an early dinner at Henri . The food was innovative, exciting and absolutely delicious. The grilled snails and wonderful service is worth the price of admission. We would definitely come back.

A bit of a strange experience - we loved the bartender and sitting at the bar but when we sat down to dinner the service was not good, the food was cold, and the steak was so chewy Not recommending

Went for a pre theatre supper but unimpressed by pre theatre set menu which was either sausage & mash or a cauliflower dish. Should have a third fish dish? Opted for two plats and a side from the a la carte. Competent service - served on time but felt prices are a bit high for a dinner intended to last an hour or so? Our 2 'a la carte' dishes which were not large portions came without sides which are about £6. So food total for 3 dishes was almost £60 . Half bottle of one of the cheapest wines was £29. So £100 - lovely atmosphere but quite poor value. Really feel that when you're only occupying a table for an hour at 6 pm you should be able to eat for £80 for two people? It's not peak time so should be recognized?

Lovely atmosphere. Excellent cocktails and friendly bar tender. Slightly underwhelmed by hesitant service from the waiter who gave us the impression we couldn't share the sides which he said came on the plate. That was incorrect - our side of fries came in a separate serving dish. Nice wine but £29 for a half bottle (one of the cheapest) is quite steep. Portions are adequate size but we would've left hungry without the side dish. Without the cocktail a meal of one course each and one side dish to share plus the half bottle of wine is quite poor value at almost £100. Hence the three star rating.

We experienced a true gem of Covent Garden dining at Henri, we had originally booked another restaurant but unfortunately they could not accommodate us and the wonderful staff transferred our booking to Henri instead, who were happy to help, we were instantly overwhelmed and impressed by the beautiful French ambience, the delightful and dutiful staff and the delicate and beautifully presented dishes. An amazing experience, we recommend to everyone who enjoys fine dining at its best.

A wonderful setting outside in the open area enjoying the warm evening. A leisurely dinner with many small courses which tasted delicious, wine waiter was very helpful advising on best choice of wine. A nice parcel of fresh bread inside a bag was a nice touch. As it was a birthday we were given a pudding and candle and even better a delicious small glass of fortified wine !

It’s a really pretty place with nice atmosphere. The service could be a bit better trained. It was a bit slowly, some parts of the order didn’t arrived and we needed to ask again that caused that we needed more time to finish the starter and the main was left under the passage, arrived quiet cold and the plates weren’t pre heated as well. We had two different menus, Drinks are excellent, food quality really good.

I really love this place. The atmosphere is nice and calm, which is perfect for me. The service amazing, very attentive, food was honestly really fresh and tasteful. The cocktails we had were perfectly made and overall had a wonderful time here. Would recommend.

Smiling service but without any skills Meals were over salty ; all of them We are French and we would have appreciated the French inspiration but it’s only on the paper or in the wine which is French.

Wow !!! It was awesome !!!! The Doorly’s 12 daiquiri to begin was delicious. We began with the oysters and canelles and both were great. The raw tuna was absolutely amazing. The flavours complemented each other perfectly. The cod was stunning and melted in my mouth. The duck fat fries OMG !! The green beans were nice too. We finished with a glass of lovely Madeira and the Comte and honey. It was one of the those meals we will talk about and encourage our friends to come and try too!!! The service was great and the team were all so knowledgeable and helpful. Not too be missed.

Such a gorgeous restaurant. We couldn’t fault a single thing that we ate. The seaweed canele is a stroke of genius, the moreish bavette steak could break a vegetarian… Cocktail list is very original - but one of them was such a tiny thimble amount, a bit insulting at £14.50. But that was the only negative from our whole experience.

Food is excellent, service is excellent but the seating arrangement is surprisingly tight. I am just not sure why the decision was to squeeze the tables so close together such that guests cannot get out if you are seated inside. Such arrangements make the whole dining experience quite unpleasant as you are so close to the next guests. I would love to come back but only when the restaurant changes the table arrangements

Delicious food, fun atmosphere. They were very patient with my daughter who is 7. Whole family had a great time. Order the fried eggs with mushrooms!

Do not miss an opportunity to dine here. A beautiful candlelit restaurant serving French food with a unique twist. The menu by Jackson Boxer consists of a wide variety of choices with clever juxtapositions of ingredients and intense flavours. Every dish we tried was surprising, memorable and super tasty. The portions are generous and the prices very reasonable for this level of cooking. Service was efficient and super friendly. We will return!

Great dinner tonight. Slav was the perfect host and Shania’s service was brilliant. Food was incredible (had the bavette which was honestly one of the best I’ve had) as well as the Chocolate Sabayon Cake and a glass of orange wine + a Anne-Sophie cocktail. Stylish interiors and a live piano player/singer all make this place a gem. Would highly recommend especially for small groups.

There is a lot to recommend about this new restaurant on Henriette Street. The cocktails are lovely with enough variety to appeal to many. The Antoine and Rouge were both lovely for us. We had the seaweed canale's and they are awesome. Excellent small bites to start off. I could have eaten a dozen of these and gone home happy. Then we moved to the poached leek. I wish they had been cut a little differently to let more dressing in and they can be a challenge to wash to get the sand out. For mains, the duck was absolutely fantastic. Cooked perfectly with a sauce that really complemented it well. I dont think I've ever had duck that delicious before. And with the fries, it was a great main course. My partner found the cod a little salty for her taste though it was cooked nicely. The somme did a great job steering us amongst our choices and we really enjoyed the 2014 Roagna barolo. Others have commented on the spacing. It does get quite tight on the two tops. They probably have 3-4 tables where they could have one less and it would be just that more intimate and private. Fortunately we had a gap for a lot of our meal and maybe if they plan the spacing of seatings well enough that can work. That said, I think they might do better just removing a few tables and adjusting the prices accordingly if that is what has to give.

Food was lovely, and the FOH team were also lovely. It was just a shame that it took so long for the food to come out (and the restaurant was nearly empty). We sat down at 6.30 and didn't get mains until 8pm, so it was a much longer evening than expected. I would return though as the food was excellent (and unusual, it was great to see a slightly different take on the Bistrot classics) and the setting was lovely.

It was a real surprise for me, that all food was far beyond expectations. I am so impressed with quality of food! Each dish was extraordinary. Now more in details. 🦪 Raw Oyster, Green Apple & Green Chartreuse Granita - great combined of refreshing apple, that emphasizes the taste of oyster itself. Great idea. Seaweed Canelé, Sour Cream, Trout Roe - great appetizer, enjoyed. Globe Artichoke, Boiled Egg & Anchovy - cool presentation, good idea. Raw Tuna, Green Tomato & Melon - absolutely stunning. Apparently there was not even one dish that we didn’t like. Grilled Snails, Green Garlic, Veal Rice - looked like a snail kebab, awesome taste. Herb-Fed Chicken, Turnips & Morels - EXCEPTIONAL!!! ⭐️ really such a full taste of chicken with gravy and morels - unbelievable how can a chicken give that much taste! Such a fullness of flavor, such a juicy meat with crispy skin, really I’ll come back for this dish. We had a Swaledale Bavette, XO Cognac & Wild Peppercorns - also absolutely EXCEPTIONAL! The Cognac sauce emphasizes the taste of a perfectly medium-rare meat ❤️ bavette just stole my heart. 🍷 There is a room for improvement in wine list, as I found positions a bit trivial and basic. But surely you can find some wine to support your meal. Finally, the general impression of the restaurant is stunning, it will surely be in my top list, and surely I’ll return. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 🫶🏼

Another wonderful location by Jackson Boxer! Casual-chic bistro atmosphere and faultless food. Simple but very nicely executed classics. Recommend for a pleasant lunch or dinner in Covent Garden!

Food was excellent. Standout dishes: the snails and the oysters. I was initially disappointed to be seated at a banquette as I'd requested a table, but that was soon remedied and we had an excellent evening, without any sense of being rushed (so rare). We were there for 3.5 hours and loved the buzzy vibe of the restaurant. Always love an open kitchen, too. Thank you

we didn't have particularly high expectations of henri as we are staying at a room in the henrietta hotel itself, and simply booked it for convenience, however we were absolutely wrong! Henri was incredible in every aspect, and we would happily go out of our way to return in the future! the staff were so attentive and knowledgable, and the food was so delicious and all such great quality. the choice of wines was also amazing (even the ones by the glass!) thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening at the restaurant

Great service, amazing addition to Covent Garden.

Had a wonderful time yesterday, we shared the beef and the half chicken. The chicken was so tender, and beef is to die for. Service was attentive. Our server kept toping up our water. I found that quite pleasing. It's very rare these days.

Henri got a bit cocky and overbooked. Three people, including myself, were sat against a wall with NO space in between to get out. Thus, the whole evening I felt uncomfortable to go to the bathroom. Likewise, I wasn't able to eat my food at 1) you could not fit more than two small plates at a time on your table 2) I would be knocking my elbows into someone or knocking over the candle/water if I reached over. When we finally left, a waitress kindly LIFTED(!) the table so I could get out. Sad to think I was looking forward to the meal ending. I'm not sure how ramming guests into the corner was seen as a smart idea? Was the extra £100 bill you may have gained worth it, for guests who probably don't want to come back? It would take a long time to get a servers attention, which is understandable given how busy they were, nonetheless this damped the experience. The waiting staff were relatively nice, definitely cannot say the same for front of staff. No one offered to take my jacket (normally not a issue but given the price point, experience is part of the whole deal), and whilst leaving, a FOH staff stood in front of the entrance engaged in conversation with another guest, and I had to say 'sorry excuse me' a few times before I could leave!

Lovely atmosphere, service was in time and staff was friendly. The food was so good: inventive and creative, but balanced and delicious as well as exciting and new. Roast Duck was super delicious!!! I recommend it, we will come back for sure.

Brilliant. Service. Knowledge of dishes. Great selection all with a really interesting touch. The pork trotter starter I could have had a 100 of. Wine list was very well thought about. Admittedly I had a Scottish Lager. Twice. But it was fab. The staff are definitely a high point also. Friendly without being in your face, clearly excellently trained and well hired/sought out. I’d be very happy sitting there all day eating and drinking. Cocktail list looked fab. We tried a lot of things. Almost too much. So we did spend more than you could have.

We were very happy to see sensible portions suitable for sharing and reasonably priced. Service was friendly, professional and accommodating. The space is lovely and intimate and the location in the heart of Covent Garden is ideal. We will definitely be back!

This is my second time visiting the now called Henri and I can't fault them in anything. I was impressed by my last meal there as I had asked what could be suggested as a good dish, really enjoyed it and this time I was recommended the Rib eye and carrot rapee, it was excellent! The specials were amazing and I really enjoyed coming back. You will be seeing me again

The place is wonderful and the food fantastic as expected. The service was great. But sadly the person who took our order didn't explain any of the dishes, didn't tell us about the specials of the day (which we would have gone for!), and also missed a couple of our requested dishes off the order unfortunately. Otherwise we really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Had a very pleasant experience yesterday. As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted by friendly smiles, and it makes you feel like you are part of the team. We had a couple of refreshing cocktails at the bar before we were shown to the table by the host. Food is just perfect, the pork starter with the mustard on top is outstanding, the duck is filled with flavor, and the sweet and savoury sauce with the duck is on a next level. Looking forward to my next visit so we can try something else 😊

Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more. The staff were knowledgable about the food and drinks menus and made us feel at home, delicious cocktails and a wide variety of French inspired cuisine to choose from. We chose to come late in their lunch hours so it wasn’t as busy but that meant the staff could devote extra attention to helping us navigate the menu.

This new opening has the most wonderful atmosphere, a well conceived and executed menu and attentive staff. Very much looking forward to my next visit!

Fabulous food in a great atmosphere, although tables for 2 are quite close together. Service generally very good, but we had to wait a long time for our mains - think there was a bit of a mix up with our order. We will be back.

Friendly service, but none of the dishes we ordered stood out or justified the price. Canele was dry, tuna lacked in flavour, the leaves over the poached leek were unneccesary. very generous portion of fries. The cod and duck were well cooked.

A brilliant addition to Covent Garden. The duck is incredible, and the carrot râpée and raw beef have a special place in my heart. I’ll be back soon!!

Super friendly restaurant. High quality delicious food. Recommend the champagne mignonette oysters, fried pied de Cochon (moreish), and the sashimi style raw tuna with green tomato.

Gorgeous new addition to Covent Garden in the lovely Henri Hotel. I am always really impressed by The Experimental Group and adore Jackson Boxer, so this is a great partnership. Loving Jackson's modern take on French food.
