The food was very good. I would recommend the Seabass, Chicken Milanese and the Seafood starters and salads which were superb.

Passing fumo as we had not long arrived in London and were walking about getting our bearings, looked through the window, said Italian's so went in as it was chok a blok only to find it only sold tapas food but we'd sat at the bar for 10 mins and was not till we sat at the table b4 they told us. Food was average, nothing flash at all service was ok they also put a 12% service charge which I had them take it off as I personally give a tip if I think they deserve one the place was ok food didn't deserve a tip. Place it's self is lovely decor wise.

Very good food. This is an Italian tapas restaurant, so all dishes are served on small / medium plates meant to share. We had the Italian breads and fritto Positano to share, then both ordered the tagliatelle Bolognese and had a side salad and drinks. The bill was about £80. The restaurant was very pretty, good service and tasty food. I think if we visited again we would order a pizza and pasta to share. The fritto Positano was huge and more than enough for two.

Last-minute reservation after the performance of the Nutcracker next door. It was a great experience from when we got there until we left. The service, food selection, and overall ambiance were magnificent. The daily special of (4) choices from the menu for 20 pounds per person was more than enough to satisfy our appetites. Delicious, the arancini.

Very good experience, spontaneously got a table for 4 on Saturday evening and the food was served very well and quickly. Thanks for the hospitality.

This place is wonderful! The service is impeccable from the moment you come to the door to the minute you leave and all the moments in between. We have sat at the bar to enjoy a great selection of champagnes and cocktails- all while chatting with the friendly and talented bartenders as well as sitting down to a late evening meal. It’s an Italian style tapa (small plates) kind of service- which is great because it’s difficult to choose just one dish. All the pastas are cooked to perfection and the sauces are delicious. The wine list is fab as well. It’s busy so definitely book if you can but don’t let that stop you from popping in and seeing if they have availability. They will seat you if they can.

First time experiencing Fumo by San Carlo. Inside, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and décor and the staff were mostly attentive. We ordered a few dishes from the tapas style menu, most of which were pretty tasty but nothing special for the price you pay. Our prawns were undercooked and pizza was a big burnt, which was disappointing. Overall not bad, but considering the high price for small dishes I would consider other Italian restaurants in London

The portion sizes were very small, no salad served with the lamb, had to be ordered separately. This was my first time at Fumo and although I understand that its more of a tapas place I don't think it's good value for money especially if you are hungry. However the atmosphere and the service by the waiters was exceptional my only gripe is with the portion sizes and that the food is prepared already so you can't ask for adjustments, i.e no alcohol in the sauce or changing the meat to fish etc. As I said it was the food I didn't like but service was great.

Sooooo disappointed. It was a special choice for a birthday treat for my sister, having had quite a nice visit a year ago but early evening, not post theatre. This time everything was pretty awful, grouchy unhelpful waiers, despite the place being empty, deliberately looking the other way when we needed anything. Parmesan to go on pasta had to be begged for three times. White wine first served tepid. No bread offered but a stale batch after 3 requests. A clear sense of impatience to get us in and out asap. If they take 10.30 pm bookings, they shouldn’t hope for you to be gone in under an hour. The was ok but very over priced. Will not be returning.

I recently dined at this restaurant, pre theatre set menu priced at £21 per person. Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite the trap. The portion sizes were more akin to tapas – very small and not satisfying at all. We had four dishes and paired them with four cocktails, and by the end of the meal, I was shocked to find my total was £140 for what felt like a light snack at best. While the cocktails were enjoyable, the overall experience left me feeling underwhelmed and overcharged. If you're looking for a hearty meal, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Save your money for a place that offers better value for your dining experience.

The worst dining experience I’ve had in my whole life. I booked a table for 6 people at 8pm on Saturday 14th Dec for my cousin’s 21st birthday (which I had included in the reservation notes) and we were made to wait over 45 MINUTES for the table because there was another group on our table. I told the restaurant manager and other staff multiple times that it was my cousin’s birthday (which they said they already knew but clearly did not care about) and that my family had flown in from overseas on that day to celebrate the occasion. Every time I asked a server why there was a wait, they said the other group is still eating and “what do you want me to do about it?” They tried to make the delay my problem which, as a customer, it was not. I had to ask the servers if they would give anything while we waited, they did not offer this or apologise immediately. When a staff member did come over, she just shouted “6 Prosecco’s” at me but half the group didn’t drink so when I said, could they get another drink she responded with “no only 6 Proseccos.” The birthday girl in our group started crying and had to leave the restaurant during the wait. By the time we sat down and got any food, it was 9pm so it had taken an hour from the booked reservation time. The restaurant manager was apologetic but also tried defending himself/the restaurant staff and, the conciliation prize which he offered us was that “they would not rush (us) off the table.” That was the least they could do but what it actually resulted in was the continual theme of slow service. I had to constantly remind them to bring basics like table water. The birthday girl had ordered the pollo parmigiana pizza which tasted like the garlic cheese bread appetiser with bland chicken and she did not finish it. I had ordered pasta (the cassarecce lamb meatballs) which was nice but it was given without Parmesan cheese and I couldn’t get a waiters attention to ask. All the servers did come out to sing my cousin happy birthday which was nice but she had been crying the whole evening and didn’t eat much. It took 20minutes to receive the bill and when we did, the drinks and appetisers we had ordered while we were waiting were given complementary but the dining experience and my cousin’s birthday had been ruined. I will not come back here again and do not recommend for a special occasion.

It's a shame how slow they are because everything else is fine. For a pizza 40 m?? Thank goodness they gave me some olives. The pizza is not big and when I put the oil on it the jar opens and I pour everything with oil... at least they changed my pizza which arrived in 10 minutes thank goodness 🤣🤣🤣 RAJ was super kind

I just can't get enough of this place, it's like coming back home as a pasta lover! 🍝 The more I visit, the more I fall in love again and again. It's impossible to not be pleased here. 😍 The place is absolutely lovely, it warms my heart every time. The team of staff they have is just so attentive and friendly that it always makes my visit even more enjoyable. 😌 Every dish is so flavoursome, you can feel the joy in every morsel, making your mouthwatering moment worthwhile! My stomach might complain a bit from all I consume but trust me, it's definitely worth it! 😂 Oh, and the decor? It's just so aesthetically pleasing, it instantly puts you at ease. 🤩And the cherry on top? It has to be their incredible staff! So kudos to them! 🙌 Ok, I'll stop gushing now. Definitely see you there again soon, pasta-lover! 🍝❤️👋

Everything was amazing, absolute top drawer and while the portions were small they weren’t overly expensive so it was decent value. While we loved our gastronomic journey, it can turn in to an expensive evening. However, as long as you embrace your dining experience you will soon forget the price.

Had a wonderful late lunch/early dinner after attending the opera with my granddaughter. I've never been to this restaurant before but will definitely be going again. The food and service was excellent. We especially enjoyed the portobello ravioli. I'm just sorry that we didn't have time for dessert due to having a train to catch. Would highly recommend.

Terrible, very expensive, more than the average for London...bad service, very slow...we ordered lamb chops and they served us a plate with a branch of thyme and two small kidney chops...worth £20

The three of us arrived around noon. Without a reservation, we only had to wait for 5 minutes to get a table. The service was good, and they helped us hang up our coats. The black truffle ravioli was the best dish. We also ordered oyster and seafood platter. The dessert is icecream. Taste very good.

Every time I’m in Fumo, I completely forget to leave a review because I love it so much. From the atmosphere to the food, this is the place in London that I take any and all friends/family that visits. It holds such a special place in my heart honestly. The food is SUPERB and the waiters (whom are Italian) will NOT put parmesan on your shrimp pasta 🤣🤣 Can’t wait to go back for the seventh time! Edit: Back again!!! Took another special friend here and he LOVED it. Not sure what he ordered exactly but it was a steak. I get something different every time to keep it fun! Going back as soon as possible to try a new dessert. I think this will be the eighth time going here hahaha. Cannot recommend enough. The ambiance is perfect and the holiday decorations are soooo beautiful. Thank you for the wonderful service once again. 🤍

Great place for small but delicious dishes.

We walked in without a reservation and were greeted warmly right away. The service was excellent.The food was absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back :)

Gorgeous style and staff were lovely and very professional. Food was disappointing, uninspiring, either over or undercooked and bland, very average. The zucchini fries however were excellent. Cocktails were fab.

Probably more like 2.5 starts. Terribly disappointing and very mediocre. Was highly recommended by our hotel but unfortunately did not deliver. Service was fine but food left something to be desired. We had fried calamari, lasagna, lobster ravioli and the garlic bread with cheese. The calamari and garlic bread were ok, not great but passable. The lobster ravioli and lasagna had very little taste. The ravioli also was room temp vice being hot. The atmosphere is somewhat noisy and tables very close together. Not sure if we didn’t order the right dishes but what we had was not very good and disappointing.

Came across this place whilst looking for somewhere to go for food. Managed to get a walk in table. Absolutely lovely place which was packed early on a Saturday eve. We were told it was tapas. On looking at menu they advise 5-6 plates between 2. We ordered 3 and that was plenty as the meals are not that small. Food good. Service good. Definitely worth a try.

Booked this for a birthday celebration with a friend. Had previously had an excellent experience at one of the sister restaurants, Cicchetti by San Carlo Covent Garden, but Fumo was nearer to our theatre. Received a warm welcome, again another elegant stylish restaurant with comfortable seating. Service was wonderful. Great atmosphere. Food was fabulous especially the Bruschetta, Fritto Portofino and Tiramisu. Wow, that Tiramisu is heaven uf you like your cream (which we do!) My friend's day was made when she was presented with a birthday profiterole accompanied by 3 of the staff singing Happy Birthday to her. A couple of limoncellos to finish and our visit was perfect.

I used to frequent this restaurant years ago because of its excellent quality and affordable prices. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. We started with oysters and tuna tartare; while they were passable, they were far from memorable. For our main course, we opted for the spaghetti ai frutti di mare. The moment the dish arrived, we were hit with an unpleasant smell. Despite our better judgment, we decided to give it a try. While the taste wasn’t outright terrible, it was clear the fish was not fresh. What truly concerned me was the thought that the chefs must have noticed the same odor while preparing the dish but chose to serve it anyway. This reflects a serious lack of care. The experience was so bad that I will never return. To make it worse, one of my friends got sick afterward. Avoid this place!

Excelente concepto, eliges múltiples platos y llegan cuando se cocinan. Los platos llegan cada 4 - 5 minutos, son del tamaño perfecto para que constantemente estés recibiendo comida caliente y deliciosa. Precio muy razonable, servicio fabuloso a pesar de que el lugar estaba increíblemente ocupado. Mi esposa y yo estábamos realmente encantados con la comida, era nuestro aniversario.

I booked this for an anniversary. The food was amazing. Staff were lovely and they even gave us a free dessert at the end. Would definitely come back again and recommend to family and friends PS: Their Focaccia & Parma Ham was sooo good

No necesitas tantos platos como dicen - dice ser tapas italianas, pero los platos realmente se están llenando. La croqueta de patata es la mejor que he probado. La boloñesa, no tanto - muy ordinario. Pan de ajo de tomate - de nuevo, el mejor de todos. Este restaurante es muy variable. El servicio fue genial en todo.

Everything is terribly slow. We had to wait 15 minutes, and ask a second time to be seated at a table(There were free tables, they just left us sitting at the bar and forgot about us). After that, we waited a very long time for any food, although the girls at another table, who just came after we had already ordered, were served 1 dish earlier. The food looked disgusting, I didn't even want to eat it. The only positive thing I can say is about the bartender (I don’t know his name): he was pleasant, did everything quickly enough and even went to check what was going on with the order (because the waiters couldn’t handle it). As for the general atmosphere - it was noisy, everyone was trying to talk so that be heard and so it was so loud that you had to practically shout to order. If an establishment can't handle the usual influx of people, then they need to change something.

We walked into this shop by chance and asked for a table for four. We got that too, the size of a round bistro table, so pretty small. Then the concept was explained to us and that you should order 4-5 dishes from the menu for every two people. Each dish has the salty price of a “normal” main course. We decided that everyone would just order one dish first and then we'll see what happens. Without asking, we were brought a bottle of water (which of course was later added to the bill) and glasses. Everyone was given a small plate and the dishes were to be placed in the middle of the table so that everyone could try everything. How that would have worked in terms of space is a mystery to us. As described in the concept, the dishes did not come together, but at different times. First came the gnocchi in tomato sauce. They looked so lovingly prepared, as if someone had opened a can of food and emptied it onto a plate. They were tasteless and, above all, cold. Then came the noodles with beef, also without any taste, apparently they save all the spices here, and also only lukewarm. The ravioli were okay, although the taste was nothing special, as one might have expected at these prices. The last dish, the pasta with eggplant gratin, was at least hot, but the eggplant was so burnt, especially the skin, that you couldn't chew it and everything just tasted burnt. The tomato sauce was the same as for the gnocchi, tasteless. None of us wanted to order a second dish here, and it was incredibly loud in the shop, even though it was only half full. When we got the bill, we asked the waiter to take the horrendous service fee off the bill (because of the points mentioned above that the food was simply not satisfactory and the service wasn't outstanding either). After we paid we were coldly ignored and were happy to leave the store. All in all, this restaurant is not recommended.

Restaurant is beautiful Staff are well dressed , service is somewhat lacking , waited 30 minutes for a drink , one main was lost and didn’t get served until 45 minutes after the rest of the food , staff need to communicate more , fancy surroundings but poor service and mediocre food

Muy decepcionado con la comida. Entorno y entorno muy agradable, pero la comida muy caro. Tenía una Bake Norma, para ser honesto, era patético. La cantidad era muy pobre y literalmente, no sabía mejor que lo mismo de Tesco. En realidad, a veces me pregunto si este tipo de lugares simplemente envían comidas o alimentos procesados preparados cuando te sirven algo como esto. No recomendaría si soy honesto. El problema es que el 99 % de los restauradores son así, se paga mucho dinero por comida que no es mejor que de un supermercado y las cantidades son patéticas.

Everything about this place is amazing! Food comes in small portions - as tapas - which is great for people who want to try a bit of everything !! The staff were extremely friendly, fun and meticulous in their service. We had a great time there !! Grazie Mille!!

Perfect place on all levels. We had a set lunch there, the portions were quite small which is perfect for lunch. Everything was delicious, and it came quickly. The décor, the music and especially the service were superb. Wonderful lunch in the heart of London.

Popped our heads in on a Saturday night at 5pm to see if any walk-ins were available and we were met by a very condescending host who said they were too busy and was appalled that we thought we could walk in. It was a shame as the ambience was very cool. Asked if we could sit at the bar and the host said to ask the bartender...the bar staff were very attentive and welcoming. Garlic bread was incredibly tasty, the rest of the dishes were subpar. Great wine list. The truffle and pecorino ravioli was the highlight in comparison to the gnocchi and lobster tagliatelle. Overall, would recommend a reservation to avoid any clashes with the host, but have had much better Italian food in London!

Italian in a Tapas style. When you look at the menu you will think the main course are very reasonably priced, but they are quite small as it is a Tapas type menu. The quality was excellent.

Recommended by a friend so visited whilst in town and it was excellent! The customer service, food, atmosphere and premises are all 5 star. Although the dishes are advertised as tapas - the portion sizes are plentiful and we thought the pricing was good value compared to other restaurants. Thank you for a memorable experience and we look forward to coming back again.

A very welcoming place. Food was quite good and staff was buzzing around a lot. We sat smack in the middle as we had no reservations. Felt a bit frazzled with all the hustle and bustle and we were underdressed and felt slightly out of place.

The food was nice, however serving sizes of the pasta are small for the price.

Food was average in taste and quality, wine was poor, service was fast and efficient but there was some bullying going on with bar staff and it is very noisy. Encouraged to over order (5 plates for 2 people) but there’s no need. Just order a starter and another.

Quality is lower than all other San Carlo’s we have been too.

My food arrived when everyone else was finished with their food, they did not mention something like this could happen before we ordered. One of the waiters was also very rude and took a very long time to take our payment.

I loved this lunch from the start to the end. Staff was so friendly and polite and both the selection of drinks and food was huge. Everything tasted delicious and portions are actually ok, ao by the end of it I was so full and satisfied I promised to come back!!

On the third occassion when the manager repeated himself, I did have to intervene and say I can read and understand English! Portions were small for circa £10.50 per dish. The avacado salad had barely 1/2 avacado and 1 tomato in it. When asked if everything was okay, I queried the value of such a small dish. This was agreed with and then ignored and when asked again later in the meal, I reiterated my query and asked to speak to a manager. The manager agreed but was defensive and said this is a large chain restaurant and . . . . I intervened again - not my problem, your staff asked me and I gave my view. The service charge removed and desserts were offered as way of apology (duly accepted). Now then, the homemade tiramisu was simply amazing - very very good. All in all, if the service issues and small portions (for some of the meal options) were addressed, this place could thrive.

I ordered the 20.95 menu which is two dishes to choose from among a few, a “caprese” salad with avocado and chicken Milanese, the correct food but they take a long time to serve you.

The worst Spaghetti Carbonara I have ever eaten in my life. In general, everything we ordered was of very low quality. The spaghetti was bitter, the bacon was burnt... I don't recommend it

We had a really nice dinner here, sitting at the bar in this happening spot. We have been to other Fumo restaurants around the UK and this one didn't disappoint. We shared a couple dishes and enjoyed everything. For a main we had the Pollo Limone e Capperi, very tender almost poached, chicken in a very tasty sauce. Our two sides, the spinach and broccoli, were very fresh and flavorful as well!

Highly recommend trying the ravioli here for a delicious dinner option. It's an absolute delight!

We love dining at Fumo and we're warmly greeted on arrival and had a window seat as requested. Our meals of Chicken Milanese and Lassagne with sides were excellent in terms of quality,presentation and quantity. Staff are attentive very helpful and polite. Thank you so much for the birthday desert for my wife and much appreciated. We will visit again in the near future.

Been here with an extended family group. Location, the place itself, Food and service were great, the only downside is the way they serve the dishes, one can have an appetizer while the other is having desert and another one is having a main. If you are fine with this, then is perfect!

I was looking for a nice lunch in pleasant surroundings within the theatre district. Fumo ticked all the boxes, they served Italian (tapas) style with a choice of small plates. The internal/external decor was really nice and the service was excellent. The restaurant was packed by the time we left which confirmed my hunch that it was a popular venue.

A very poor experience this evening at Table No. 55, with my family. Beautiful restaurant The waiter was Wilfred was friendly and polite. He advised us what dishes to order. Our starters were very nice, Sadly, Two of our main course never arrived, when we asked a waiter, he said he will check, never came back to us.we also asked a supervisor, he never got back to us either. After waiting 40mins for the mains that never arrived. We ordered Dessert was nice when it arrived to our table. Asked for the bill, they made us wait 26mins for it. When it finally came, they tried to Overcharge us £50!!!. One of the greatest disappointments of my life going out to eat. Completely ruined my family reunion. A very poor experience this evening with my family. 20.08.2024 Update Customer service emailed me and stated that they would investigate this. 3 weeks and still have not heard anything. Sunday 8th September Update: 4 months ago as advised by them, I filled in the complaint on their website. The last I heard was they will investigate the issue on 20.08.2024. Still heard Nothing.

I had a wonderful evening with my daughters at Fumo. The waitors were attentive and friendly the food was amazing. This is the restaurant to go to for that special night out. Highly recommended.

Luigi and the staff were all amazing made our day. Definitely recommend they truly make you feel at home and comfortable. No complaints, will be coming back

One of the greatest dinners in a long time to celebrate a friends graduation. Staff were very hospitable and service was beyond amazing. An important shoutout to Luigi who was so accommodating to all our requirements. Would definitely visit again and would be honoured to be served by Luigi again.

The food here was very tasty and the atmosphere was quite quiet and classy. The service was great other than the waiter missing our water. One thing is don’t be deceived by the prices as the dishes are rlly small so one main dish isn’t enough it’s more of a mini plates kind of menu, wish me and my other student friend knew this before going aha nonetheless was very nice experience :)

We go to Fumo a lot! The atmosphere, food and service are always spot on. We were there on Saturday and our server was the lovely Antonio G.Extremely welcoming, attentive and professional.The restaurant was really busy, but he was relaxed as he took our order, and poured exactly the right amount of wine into our glasses. We were also impressed that he cleared not only our plates away, but the other tables near to us. Really important in our opinion that you are not left sitting by dirty dishes. Thank you Antonio!

Visiting the Coliseum and decided to have lunch before the show. The food was fantastic, would definitely come again if I were to visit London. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Very disappointed with the quality of food & service. I thought this was a proper Italian restaurant. We have been told by the waiter that they serve Tapas. But the price is so expensive for a Tapa. Plus once we ordered our foods it came out in like under 5 minutes. I am a bit confused as whether this is a fast food restaurant. Is it freshly made? Obviously not. The Chicken Milanese was very oily & sockeye, the Calamari was basically flour & oil. It was so disgusting. I have made a mistake as I shouldn’t have booked this place as this is obviously a touristy place.

I do not understand why people rate this place highly. The food was mediocre at best and terrible at worst. The portions are tiny because it's billed as 'italian tapas' but who wants to share a bowl of pasta or a tiny pizza? Italian food is not tapas. The prices are far too steep for the quality and we didn't even receive everything we ordered. Only go if you want to be ripped off.

English review:👏🏼 Oh my Godness. Finally a restaurant with decent food, not outrageous prices, and good waiters. A place that from the outside you would say, I don't go in because they nail me to my chair and yet we have had a much better dinner than in the heart of Covent Garden. I recommend the pasta. Although yes, the dishes are not abundant. The concept is to order several dishes and share them. There were four of us (two hungry teenagers) and we ordered two plates of starters and a pasta each. The pasta was great. We were very happy so we decided to try the desserts and cocktails they offer. He Atmosphere couldn't be cooler, good music and attentive waiters. There is one who speaks Spanish. Trick. Ask for water in a jug with ice. It comes out better than the water bottle. If you want to pay yourself a tribute without your heart sinking when the bill arrives, this place may be the best choice.

Luigi at table 6 was hyper and an excel ambassador for this restaurant. You can really see just why this restaurant has the star rating it has. Food is superb, maybe turn the music down a little so that you can hear what your waiter is trying to tell you, other than that we had the Italian tapas 8 different types of meals from the menu. Amazing, each and every one. We would 100% recommend this place. Go and you won’t be disappointed

Brilliant service and food Luigi was really help and nothing was to much trouble would happily visit again.

Celebrated my birthday at Fumo last night with my friends and everything was superb. Our server Nicola was fantastic and great at his job, recommended us great dishes and made sure we were all good throughout our stay. Very welcoming environment and excellent staff, not to say that the food was also 10/10.

The food is good, Luigi is very good at giving advice and is very nice

I went with my partner for our anniversary. The food and service was incredible. Our waiter, Alex, was amazing and made sure to check how we were regularly throughout our meal. He went the extra mile when he saw that we had booked under anniversary and bought out a dessert plate with melted chocolate on it. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to people ☺️

The food is good, but the dishes are small, the price is very acceptable, and the music is loud Our order was Lasagna 8/10 Ravello 10/10 Margherita pizza 9/10 Garlic bread 9/10 Pasta with eggplant 8/10 Mozzarella balls Calamari 7/10 Tiramisu 10/10 amazing

A wonderful gem in a very touristic place! The food is great! And the service is absolutely perfect!
