The Petersham - Italian Organic Restaurant In Covent Garden in City of London, Westminster

Outstanding family time at The Petersham. Service was attentive. The food recommendation was exceptional. The wine and cocktails recommendations were done so well. My mom had lovely time. Their terrace is so lovely with fresh flowers. You feel like you are in a small town somewhere in Italy. Will comeback soon for a glass of wine and small nibbles.

Myself and sister walked in around 19:00 for a quick bite however it turned out to be a proper feast. We had great recommendations which I will try to share. The Champagne Soutiran Grand Cru Signature was recommended by sommelier Valentin. Its delicate golden hue and fine effervescence immediately set the stage for an exceptional tasting experience. This Champagne turned to beautiful balance between freshness and complexity, with notes of ripe citrus, toasted brioche, and a subtle minerality that reflects its Grand Cru heritage. The creamy texture and refined finish make it a standout choice for pairing with gourmet cuisine. We were blown away by. The pairing with refined Italian dishes— such as started with bread and olive oil to open up appetite, followed by scallop with garlic paneer wow, baby potato and lettuce. The knock out was with super delicious desserts, pls see pictures. Loved it. The impeccable service, warm atmosphere, and the sommelier’s recommendation of this outstanding label made the evening truly memorable. A perfect combination of fine wine and exceptional dining! We will recommend and return!thank you team!

I enjoyed the vegetarian New Year’s Eve tasting menu. A lot of thought was put into each course which contained ingredients representing prosperity and luck in different countries. The dishes were delicious and filling, decor is beautiful and staff were attentive and friendly. Thanks for a wonderful dinner.

Incredible food, brilliant service. The food is inventive but not pretentious and each dish is composed spectacularly well in terms of the balance of flavours and textures. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The menu is *not* overpriced considering the calibre of the food and the standard of service.

1. Keep the shells on the clams and make sure the spaghetti vongole is salty enough 2. Don’t put chrysanthemums on the table they are connected with funerals 3. Sort out the acoustics it is cold and cavernous to mitigate reverb use wall hangings, false ceilings etc it will warm up the interior 4. Don’t serve a single scallop as a starter at least 3 for that price 5. If you want to play on your Italian heritage make sure your chefs understand Italian cooking Thank you

I had booked afternoon tea for a business meeting but my guest purely wanted a coffee. Embarrassingly the restaurant asked us to leave. They were not busy and could have accommodated us. Very disappointing. I shall avoid in future.

This was a special surprise birthday gift for my girlfriend, and it genuinely felt like we were treated like royalty. Wonderful staff with just the right amount of attentiveness, incredible food and the most beautiful restaurant. Overall, worth every single penny and we would return in a heartbeat.

We went here for our anniversary and it was unfortunately a bad choice. The staff were not particularly helpful. The food was really overpriced and the portions were very small. I ordered the ox cheek and it was pretty awful. I would not recommend this place for a special occasion.

Would give the review six stars if I could. The food was genuinely outstanding: Would recommend the scallops starter and the lemon sole main - and don't miss out on the Cornish potatoes side-order; simply the best potatoes I've ever tasted. There were two sommeliers the night we were there and they both picked some great wines (and without the "let's go for the most expensive thing on the menu" agenda). The service was similarly exceptional; attentive and prompt, but relaxed. The venue itself is lovely. An all-round flawless experience.

for anyone thinking of getting afternoon tea at petersham, i strongly urge you to look elsewhere. the service was strange to say the least: i had called them on the day to confirm our dietary restrictions, instead they insisted they had called me multiple times to check with no answer from me. That was untrue. But still, they said they could cater to us (lactose free and vegetarian) so it was no issue. When we arrived, we once again confirmed at reception, and even with the waiter, and they agreed. However, once the food started arriving, we found that they could not cater for lactose free at all. This is very strange as they even have a vegan menu as an option. So we spoke to the manager who said it was because we confirmed the restrictions so last minute - and that they called multiple times and we did not reach out to them, when i had in fact confirmed earlier in the morning. He even insisted i did not call them up. In the end, we made do with the menu, resigned to make do with what we had. As for the food, it was really average and not the standard you even get from most cafes in london even. it was not worth £60. Overall, we found the service staff to be either completely clueless or arrogant - quick to blame us and assume we did wrong. I am also not sure what they were so arrogant about, as the food was nothing to be proud of. (to top it all off - we booked this to celebrate my partner’s birthday. they clearly did not check the booking details which already had all this laid out w dietary preferences, and it added a sour note to our day). I am appalled that such an establishment exists.

Unfortunately the service was very misguided. This establishment is not accommodative. We called them on the phone to confirm there were dairy free options, and on the phone, they agreed. However, when we arrived, they said no such call occurred and ultimately gave us the regular option. Even worse, they mentioned they had called us to confirm beforehand, but we received no such calls. Afternoon tea food was okay but not worth the £60 price.

We've been coming here once every year for about 6 or 7 years. This was our worst experience by a long way. The greeting at the door wonderful. The food was really poor, mostly just salty dishes. The waitress was terrible. I think that's the last time for us.

We were served by Giuseppe and he was very accommodating, polite and humorous. The place is beautifully decorated and the food was to die for. An absolute recommendation!!

Disappointed with the food portion and even the staff agreed, and encouraged us to write about it as it is a common complaint apparently. Husband and I had a starter each and main course and one large pot of tea ( £ 130.00 !!) and were still hungry. We are not big built persons ( just 60kg and 72kg) so Cannot imagine what larger persons would say at the portion size. And at those prices! Moreover, we asked if we could finish with scones and tea and shockingly ( in London🙄) they don’t have scones on their menu as their Afternoon tea is Italian style . DONT BOTHER and don’t be influenced by Reels on social Media like I did 👎 P.s 2 slices of bread +2 finger size focaccia , cold= £8 🤯

OMG! words simply can’t describe how good The Petersham is! Flavor just simply exploded in your mouth layer after layer, I regretted that I didn’t come here sooner.

A wonderful place for afternoon tea. I went with my mother and we loved it from the place, the food and the exquisite service. We will return on another trip to London.

Food is overpriced for extremely small portion. Does not taste good and the people tried to rush us to pay and leave even though we booked ahead. Also got surprised when the bill came and we got charged for bread and water. Complete waste of money and very high service charge for nothing.

We had dinner at the petersham covent garden, upon arrival they escorted us at the table, the service and the attention to details was impressive, we met Giuseppe, which was amazing in terms of service, and soo friendly, he suggested the dishes and as it was my wife's birthday at the end he prepared a birthday treats. I've to say that for me it was the gist time at covent garden, and the atmosphere and all the rest was literally wow... thank you for everything

I enjoyed dinner last night at the Petersham and would highly recommend it as a lovely date-night spot. I loved the decor, lighting, and the candles on the table. Thank you for the excellent service and the delicious food. The highlight of the meal was the lemon sole served with roasted new potatoes and broccolini with garlic!

I wouldn't recommend this place purely based on the terrible / rude / unprofessional service here. It's a shame because it's beautiful and the food is really good! But the service just completely lets it down. It was probably some of the worst service I've come across in a long time in London. Don't bother.

Beautiful place - but i would NOT recommend the The Afternoon Tea set menu if you are small eater and not big on desserts - go for a bite or a drink but À la carte and enjoy - pls note the set menu is also very expensive and its not worth it unless you have a Big appetite and enjoy your desserts. But the place is lovely and worth a visit.

I have a wonderful experience at thier Afternoon Tea! The food was gorgeous and tasted spectacular. And it was so filling. Gioseppe my server had a beautiful energy. And Ennio truly made my special occasion feel even more special. This place is great for anniversaries, birthdays, or just to treat yourself to something wonderful!

I was so looking to go to this Petersham on Covent Garden as I thoroughly enjoyed their ‘sister’ outlet, Richmond. Apart from the decor & location it didn’t compete at all. We sat outside on a beautiful English summers day. It was far from busy and the service was not good. Plates were taken away before we finished eating. An absolute no no & the service was SLOW. I had burrata as entree. The tomatoes were tasteless. Followed by fish, again my dish was bland. I wouldn’t return.

After reading a number of less-than-stellar reviews online, my partner and I were initially hesitant to book a table at The Petersham Floral Court. However, our experience turned out to be nothing short of extraordinary, and I feel compelled to share our delightful encounter. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was enchanting. The staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and attentiveness that set the tone for the evening. The highlight of our visit was, without a doubt, the meal. Every course was a delightful surprise, bursting with creativity and flavor. The seared sea bass with broad beans was sensational, the rib-eye melted in our mouths, and the grilled nectarines with sorbet was a decadent yet guilt-free finish. It’s clear the chef poured their heart into every dish! The wine pairings were spot-on, perfectly enhancing every aspect of the dining experience. We had the pleasure of trying the Livio Felluga Rosazzo Terre Alte 2021, which was exceptional. While we had our reservations based on previous reviews, we found every aspect of our evening to be exemplary. It’s possible that previous experiences might have been influenced by different factors, but our visit was flawless. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts, already planning our next visit. If you’re considering dining at The Petersham Floral Court, I highly recommend you give it a chance. It’s clear that the team is dedicated to providing an outstanding experience, and our evening was nothing short of magical.

My first time visiting London from Toronto, and high tea was definitely on the hit list of things to do. The Petersham made the experience unforgettable! The food, service and ambiance was exquisite, radiating every bit of royalty and luxury. A must visit for anyone visiting London, and even for locals who are yet to discover this hidden gem! Bad, it took them a long time to bring 3 dishes, the food was nothing out of this world, they charged us for an extra dish, and the service was average, and also expensive. I have no problem paying the price if it's worth it, but this was not the case at all, I do not recommend it.

I had been gifted a voucher for my birthday to dine at this restaurant. We had Muhammed as our main waiter and he was absolutely lovely. Very attentive, kind and accommodating. However, that is where our positive experience started and ended. During the course of our meal, even though Muhammed was our main waiter. The other staff felt it was their need to constantly approach us if we were OK, if we needed anything, move our cutlery to a different position, asked what we thought of the food whilst eating. The constant interruptions and the staff hovering around us turned our experience into a negative one. Once we came to pay our bill, I had already given the voucher to our waiter at the start of the meal, which he accepted no issues. However, I could already see there was issue with perhaps a manager and could see they were talking about us, which made me feel very uncomfortable. The food was good, the venue was lovely. However, I very much doubt I will be back due to the service and overall ambience. It was not a relaxing birthday meal at all.

Good food well prepared but overpriced as was the wine. Service felt over professional and not very natural. One member of staff corrected me when I questioned an item description on the menu and when the menu showed that what I’d said was correct the server turned on their heel with a remark I couldn’t quite hear. Atmosphere very flat, not busy at all. Strange decor and fit out that in my opinion doesn’t really work in Covent Garden. We shared 3 starters and 1 main. Had 2 puds and a cheap bottle of wine and the damage was £250 including a whopping 15% service charge. We won’t be going back. Shame as the food was good.

The setting was nice and the tuna capaccio was declious, staff were friendly and attentive. The rest of the meals were so so. The tomato gnocchi lacked flavours and the risotto was al dente. The nectarine sorbet was okay.

To be completely honest I am not sure what I expected however I went for a baby shower and personally this would not be my pick because the afternoon tea is very much overrated it is overly priced for what it is (£55pp with a glass of Prosecco) and I understand that this is a fancy restaurant in central London which is why I thought the quality of the food would be good. The sandwiches were plain, the little pizzas were literally just a puff pastry with the tiniest amount of toppings and the deserts had no taste and looked quite cheap. Personally I think that the afternoon tea in general is a bit of a waste of money but if it’s good food then you would at least enjoy that but this place I would not recommend at all. The service was ok and the atmosphere is nice and it is beautifully served but the food quality could for sure improve.

Beautiful little expensive restaurant in a lovely courtyard in Covent garden. Great for a relaxed weekend lunch or a special treat. Lamb cutlets were yum, so was the risotto. But overall food was above average. Their tea looked amazing, would go back for that!

we screwed up our reservation for tea by booking before tea is served at 3pm but they let us keep the table until then, were totally accommodating for my date's gluten allergy, and made sure we had the best tea. great value, all the food was great and the variety was fab. i had the lychee rose noir tea and it was delicious.

Dreadful service; subpar food. Dinner was served cold/lukewarm and sent back. Getting basic things like water and the bill requires asking the waiting staff twice. The restaurant then had the audacity to tag on full amount of service charge. We didn’t challenge it as we didn’t have it in us to deal with the staff anymore. Would not be going back and would not recommend.

The place is very beautiful, with a very pleasant atmosphere and a particular floral decoration that generates peace. Very good and personalized attention, from the hostess to the manager. Special thanks to Hardik, who went out of his way to assist us. The food is of very high quality, delicious and very well presented, I especially recommend the dry aged ribeye, which melts in your mouth, spectacular flavor. You will be paying for the beautiful setting. Please do not go if you are hungry! Good quality food, but servings are *very* small, and the menu is *very* pricey - to the extent you would not come back a second time. Drinks menu reasonable though. Cost for three around 300 UK pounds.

Our dining experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. We began with an incredible asparagus risotto and a fresh tuna tartar. The vegetable tempura in delicate pastry with a sublime sauce was equally delightful. Apologies for the lack of photos – we were so eager to dive in that everything was devoured immediately. The risotto was especially noteworthy, with flavors that melted in the mouth. We also enjoyed perfectly cooked calamari and fish. Each course was paired with outstanding beverages, thanks to the expertise of sommelier Valentin. Not sure what to start with, I entrusted him to prepare a refreshing cocktail, which was spot-on. This was followed by a superb red wine and concluded with a fabulous espresso martini, all perfectly complementing our meal. The desserts – tiramisu and chocolate mousse – were the perfect finale to our feast. This restaurant is a must-visit for its exquisite dishes and impeccable service.

My boyfriend bought me a virgin experience day for afternoon tea which included the classic afternoon tea, it was truly amazing! The food was delicious, everything we tried! The options to choose for your tea or coffee were endless! I would highly recommend this restaurant not only for afternoon but in general because it’s a beautiful theme, the waiter was so attentive and the overall ambiance was beautiful.

Be warned. If you are offered bread whilst you wait for you food don’t accept! We were charged £16 for bread!!! My husband didn’t want to make a scene but I would have done!!!!

Happened to stumble across Petersham Covent Garden this evening. The restaurant was elegant, with a relaxed atmosphere. We had a fantastic meal. The food was bold with flavour and true to Italian cuisine. Our host Guiseppe in particular made our meal extremely enjoyable with his charismatic energy and attentive care, a true credit to the restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again.

We came for an afternoon tea. The atmosphere was not appropriate, people were just drinking on the neighbouring table, it felt like being in a pub. Next time we’ll just opt for one of the many hotels for tea.

We were in London, on vacation, and had the pleasure of dining at The Petersham. It was conveniently located near both our hotel and the theater. The food and service were wonderful and the decor was a beautiful garden setting. This is a gem in the Covent Garden area.

The restaurant is beautiful! We ordered from the a la carte menu and everything was absolutely delicious! The Tartare, Risotto del Contadino and Fettuccine alla Lorenzo were highlights! It is more on the expensive side, but definitely a nice dining experience in Covent Garden.

Absolutely amazing service from Giuseppe and Nadia. Food and service was so delightful we came back twice within a week. Portions were smaller BUT very filling and it was soooooo good! Well worth the money. Thankyou for making us feel like the only patrons in the restaurant. By far the best service in London. We will be back next year.

We went for the afternoon tea. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and the food was delicious - particularly the sandwiches. However, I had confirmed over the phone, when we arrived, and when I was given a menu that I was vegetarian and would want the vegetarian option. I was brought over the usual option with meat/fish. I did mention it and they brought the correct platter, but I easily could have tucked in without realising. This would be upsetting as is, but the other time we dined at Petersham Covent Garden the same thing happened! We’d confirmed that everything we’d ordered was vegetarian, but instead was brought mackerel croquettes which we bit into mistaking them for the aubergine croquettes we’d ordered. So 2/2 times we’ve dined with Petersham, our dietary requests were ignored and we were served food we cannot eat. We will not be dining here again as although the food is delicious, we now have 0 confidence that our dietary needs will be respected.

Mixed bag: Attentive and friendly service, perfect wine selections, beautiful room. Unpredictable food ranging from delicious prime rib to nearly flavorless and poorly cooked risotto, unpalatable carpaccio, and quite boring desserts. Luckily the food at the original restaurant in Petersham remains superb with matching service. Spend your money there…

In a quiet area of Covent garden this restaurant is an excellent choice for modern European cuisine, especially dinner the seasonal menus and selection are quite good and really attentive service.

Gorgeous atmosphere, beautiful furnishings but that’s about the nicest thing I can say about this restaurant. Food is fine, but nothing special. Service is pretty substandard considering the location and cost of this restaurant. No coat check was offered, and the second waiter I asked hadn’t a clue (he asked if i wanted to put my coat in a locker??). Bread was asked for thrice and ignored/forgotten, service was slow and unsmiling. We almost missed our show due to the snails pace service. Also total misrepresentation of the menu: their apple “millefoglie” is actually an apple crumble.

Incredibile Saturday lunch meal with my wife and my 2 daughters (9 and 14). We were welcomed by a very smiley and attentive staff, seated in one of the beautiful glass tables with fresh flowers. We tasted the dishes from the new menù and were extremely pleasing and well presented. Starters: Risotto with cheese and pear - stunning Beef tartare - super tasty The Petersham chips - a treat! well seasoned Beetroot salad - colourful, fresh Mains: Ossobuco agnolotti - beautifully presented and tasty version of the original Ossobuco Beef short rib - luxurious taste and perfectly cooked. Fettuccine alla Lorenzo - well done Lorenzo that plate was fantastic in its simplicity, well balanced and super tasty. The meal was superb also thanks to very knowledgeable sommelier that suggested an incredible Sicilian wine and The manager Giuseppe super professional, assisting all tables and smiling at all times made sure we had had a wonderful time especially for our youngest daughter. Grazie! 🙏

I can get a Tesco meal deal with more flavour for ten times cheaper. No effort was put into the food, literally. Our first two courses were salad, no cooking just raw vegetables both made with no more than a handful of ingredients, I could literally make this at home and furthermore just putting some sort of salad dressing would have made it tastier. I was forcing myself to eat the initial courses because I felt embarrassed leaving plates unfinished, by the 5th course I didn’t even bother with more than two bites. And yet at no point did the staff ask why I wasn’t finishing my food!! They did not ask because they knew the food was awful, I saw the table nearby complaining and quite clearly I hear the waiter/manager say “the food is awful” (but in more colourful words). Then at the end in comical style the waiter asks us why we are taking the discretionary service charge off, stating our issue was with the food not the service… if anyone bothers to read this I would like your judgment on whether I should’ve paid the charge! I’ve only told you the tip of the iceberg but hoping people read this so they save their money. The food was so bad compared to how much we paid, my only conclusion is that this is a money laundering scheme and they are faking reviews (a joke… I hope.)

This was the most delicious meal I've eaten in a very long time. The food, the wine (we had the pairing option with our food choices), the staff and the whole atmosphere was second to none. I cannot recommend the Petersham enough. It was a highlight from my visit to London.

The restaurant is beautiful even before you enter, because the plants at Christmas were decorated with lights that made it look so romantic and charming. Inside the restaurant, many flowers, very pleasant atmosphere, I recommend the cranberry juice, it is organic and it is a delight. For dinner we ordered "Fillet of Haye farm beef" I recommend it!!! It is a delight and although it is not very large it is enough to satisfy you. For dessert I ordered the tiramisu, it is a somewhat different but exquisite version for me. If one day I return I hope to return to that restaurant too, for me it is totally worth it.

We had a fantastic time on Saturday having afternoon tea! We were welcomed to our table and a waiter came to explain the types of afternoon tea available. We loved all the fresh flowers around the restaurant. The courtyard entrance felt like we were in another country! Our pear Bellini’s came and were delicious! The food came on a glass tower with a bunch of spring flowers. It was beautifully presented! The food was fresh and we loved it!! From the hustle of Covent Garden, we felt like we were whisked to another place!!

Our starter's were luke warm, my pasta with mushrooms was nice but luke warm, my husband had the most start awful dish no favour. Mains were nice, portion size good, wine over priced and not even correct measures. Staff lovely, venue very nice just let down by over priced food.

Absolutely amazing experience for a group of 9 of us. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and the food was exceptional, well catered to everyone's dietary needs. The staff were so attentive, well informed and a pleasure to engage with - especially Giuseppe. Would highly recommend!

My friends & I had a lovely and most enjoyable visit to The Petersham Restaurant yesterday. Beautifully located in a little courtyard in bustling Covent Garden. Stunning restaurant, beautifully decorated with flowers & Festive decor. A very mouthwatering menu was offered and the food was fantastic. I had saddle of lamb with vegetables, followed by profiteroles. I would have awarded 5 stars but the portions were small, especially considering the prices (£39 for the main meal.) Lovely choice of restaurant for a special occasion.

Beautiful ambiance, gracious & attentive service, thoughtful wine pairings, and the most incredible & savory onion soup with fontina I’ve ever experienced in my life! Have already recommended to friends and will definitely return on my next visit from the States. Thank you so much for a delightful evening!

Average food, for overprice. Service not the best.

The food was very good but wasn't inspiring or creative. The service was efficient but not personable or friendly (with one exception). The food is expensive for what it is, but the location and ambience is excellent and, given that, I would probably recommend their other restaurant in Floral Court, La Goccia, over this one.

Phenomenally good! The service was beyond perfect. I have never seen such teamwork before and Nadia was a delight to chat with. The food is unforgettable! Stop by this place when visiting Covent Gardens, you won't regret it.
