I have a wonderful experience at thier Afternoon Tea! The food was gorgeous and tasted spectacular. And it was so filling. Gioseppe my server had a beautiful energy. And Ennio truly made my special occasion feel even more special. This place is great for anniversaries, birthdays, or just to treat yourself to something wonderful!

I was so looking to go to this Petersham on Covent Garden as I thoroughly enjoyed their ‘sister’ outlet, Richmond. Apart from the decor & location it didn’t compete at all. We sat outside on a beautiful English summers day. It was far from busy and the service was not good. Plates were taken away before we finished eating. An absolute no no & the service was SLOW. I had burrata as entree. The tomatoes were tasteless. Followed by fish, again my dish was bland. I wouldn’t return.

It is always easier to complaint about a service, rather than sharing a compliment. After reading a number of less-than-stellar reviews online, my partner and I were initially hesitant to book a table at The Petersham Floral Court. However, our experience turned out to be nothing short of extraordinary, and I feel compelled to share our delightful encounter. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was enchanting. The staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and attentiveness that set the tone for the evening. The highlight of our visit was, without a doubt, the meal. Every course was a delightful surprise, bursting with creativity and flavor. The seared sea bass with broad beans was sensational, the rib-eye melted in our mouths, and the grilled nectarines with sorbet was a decadent yet guilt-free finish. It’s clear the chef poured their heart into every dish! The wine pairings were spot-on, perfectly enhancing every aspect of the dining experience. We had the pleasure of trying the Livio Felluga Rosazzo Terre Alte 2021, which was exceptional. While we had our reservations based on previous reviews, we found every aspect of our evening to be exemplary. It’s possible that previous experiences might have been influenced by different factors, but our visit was flawless. We left with full stomachs and even fuller hearts, already planning our next visit. If you’re considering dining at The Petersham Floral Court, I highly recommend you give it a chance. It’s clear that the team is dedicated to providing an outstanding experience, and our evening was nothing short of magical.

Good food well prepared but overpriced as was the wine. Service felt over professional and not very natural. One member of staff corrected me when I questioned an item description on the menu and when the menu showed that what I’d said was correct the server turned on their heel with a remark I couldn’t quite hear. Atmosphere very flat, not busy at all. Strange decor and fit out that in my opinion doesn’t really work in Covent Garden. We shared 3 starters and 1 main. Had 2 puds and a cheap bottle of wine and the damage was £250 including a whopping 15% service charge. We won’t be going back. Shame as the food was good.

I had been gifted a voucher for my birthday to dine at this restaurant. We had Muhammed as our main waiter and he was absolutely lovely. Very attentive, kind and accommodating. However, that is where our positive experience started and ended. During the course of our meal, even though Muhammed was our main waiter. The other staff felt it was their need to constantly approach us if we were OK, if we needed anything, move our cutlery to a different position, asked what we thought of the food whilst eating. The constant interruptions and the staff hovering around us turned our experience into a negative one. Once we came to pay our bill, I had already given the voucher to our waiter at the start of the meal, which he accepted no issues. However, I could already see there was issue with perhaps a manager and could see they were talking about us, which made me feel very uncomfortable. The food was good, the venue was lovely. However, I very much doubt I will be back due to the service and overall ambience. It was not a relaxing birthday meal at all.

To be completely honest I am not sure what I expected however I went for a baby shower and personally this would not be my pick because the afternoon tea is very much overrated it is overly priced for what it is (£55pp with a glass of Prosecco) and I understand that this is a fancy restaurant in central London which is why I thought the quality of the food would be good. The sandwiches were plain, the little pizzas were literally just a puff pastry with the tiniest amount of toppings and the deserts had no taste and looked quite cheap. Personally I think that the afternoon tea in general is a bit of a waste of money but if it’s good food then you would at least enjoy that but this place I would not recommend at all. The service was ok and the atmosphere is nice and it is beautifully served but the food quality could for sure improve.

Dreadful service; subpar food. Dinner was served cold/lukewarm and sent back. Getting basic things like water and the bill requires asking the waiting staff twice. Our dining experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. We began with an incredible asparagus risotto and a fresh tuna tartar. The vegetable tempura in delicate pastry with a sublime sauce was equally delightful. Apologies for the lack of photos – we were so eager to dive in that everything was devoured immediately. The risotto was especially noteworthy, with flavors that melted in the mouth. We also enjoyed perfectly cooked calamari and fish. Each course was paired with outstanding beverages, thanks to the expertise of sommelier Valentin. Not sure what to start with, I entrusted him to prepare a refreshing cocktail, which was spot-on. This was followed by a superb red wine and concluded with a fabulous espresso martini, all perfectly complementing our meal. The desserts – tiramisu and chocolate mousse – were the perfect finale to our feast. This restaurant is a must-visit for its exquisite dishes and impeccable service.

We went for the afternoon tea. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and the food was delicious - particularly the sandwiches. However, I had confirmed over the phone, when we arrived, and when I was given a menu that I was vegetarian and would want the vegetarian option. I was brought over the usual option with meat/fish. I did mention it and they brought the correct platter, but I easily could have tucked in without realising. This would be upsetting as is, but the other time we dined at Petersham Covent Garden the same thing happened! We’d confirmed that everything we’d ordered was vegetarian, but instead was brought mackerel croquettes which we bit into mistaking them for the aubergine croquettes we’d ordered. So 2/2 times we’ve dined with Petersham, our dietary requests were ignored and we were served food we cannot eat. We will not be dining here again as although the food is delicious, we now have 0 confidence that our dietary needs will be respected.

No coat check was offered, and the second waiter I asked hadn’t a clue (he asked if i wanted to put my coat in a locker??). Bread was asked for thrice and ignored/forgotten, service was slow and unsmiling. We almost missed our show due to the snails pace service. I can get a Tesco meal deal with more flavour for ten times cheaper. No effort was put into the food, literally. Our first two courses were salad, no cooking just raw vegetables both made with no more than a handful of ingredients, I could literally make this at home and furthermore just putting some sort of salad dressing would have made it tastier. I was forcing myself to eat the initial courses because I felt embarrassed leaving plates unfinished, by the 5th course I didn’t even bother with more than two bites. And yet at no point did the staff ask why I wasn’t finishing my food!! They did not ask because they knew the food was awful, I saw the table nearby complaining and quite clearly I hear the waiter/manager say “the food is awful” (but in more colourful words). Then at the end in comical style the waiter asks us why we are taking the discretionary service charge off, stating our issue was with the food not the service… if anyone bothers to read this I would like your judgment on whether I should’ve paid the charge! I’ve only told you the tip of the iceberg but hoping people read this so they save their money. The food was so bad compared to how much we paid, my only conclusion is that this is a money laundering scheme and they are faking reviews (a joke… I hope.)

Food was so salty it was practically inedible. Ordered the pumpkin risotto "as recommended by the waiter" but requested it without the Guanciale. Im not one to not finish a plate even if its not good but food was so salty I took a few bites and left it as shown in the picture. To make matters worse, and I'm not sure if its because we were there "late" i.e 9pm on a Saturday night, but no staff came to check on us. When we asked for the cheque and they came to collect our plates, the waiter asked if I was done with my food seeing as the plate was almost untouched I said yes and expressed how salty it was, they asked if they can get me anything else while practically walking away, so I naturally said no - did not even bother to remove the order from the cheque. Honestly very disappointed and displeased with a restaurant that has such high rating and is on the pricey end.

We chose Petersham for a special meal out, yet left disappointed: the service wasn't as "on it" as we'd expect (and the place wasn't busy) and the prices high for what was served - although most of what we had was tasty. The waiter kindly didn't charge us the £14 for the 'garden fritto': not tempura vegetables as you might think, but a bowl of root vegetable crisps (!) Any high-end restaurant undermines its image by charging £4 per head for bread, for example, or by serving what I think was pre-ground packet Parmesan on the side. It's often hard to justify charging a lot for pasta, but at £28 for five vegetarian tortelli, you can't help but feel like you're a willing victim. Beautiful setting though.

We visited for a tasting menu. The tempura courgette flowers were very nice but one of the courses was essentially just crudités with some flowers on top - pretty, but very low effort and not actually that pleasant to eat as the knives were blunt and therefore bad at cutting through raw carrot etc. The tomato salad was under seasoned by a long way, as was the pesto pasta. The spicy crunchy rice was tasty and a bit more imaginative. Overall it was quite basic and I felt many keen home cooks could have done more with the seasonal ingredients. The wine pairings were great and the sommelier was charismatic and welcoming. I wouldn't recommend going here for a tasting menu, but for some wine and atmosphere it was enjoyable.

There was four of us and we hardly touched anything. Our bill was £400 including 13.5% service. We asked to split it 50/50. We were charged £222 each! When we noticed, we've got a quick apology, waiter corrected second charge and walked away.

We had a great table here last Saturday - the food was really lovely, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. As a vegetarian, there was enough for me to choose from. The wine list is extensive, but the sommelier helped us choose something delicious - one of the nicest I've had in a while. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here and look forward to going back.

Quality of food not up to standard and tasted far too salty. Also portions were very small and far too pricey.

I normally haven’t taken the time to write restaurant reviews, though my husband and I have been to a lot of amazing restaurants across Europe. I was very excited to try this restaurant but didn’t get a chance to try the food because the service was horrible (on my birthday as well). This restaurant is the first one either of us have ever walked out of. We didn’t wait very long to get seated (the hostess very nice) but once seated, no one served us (over 20 min) or asked if we needed anything or that someone would be with us. There was no one to gesture to. We had a baby with us and it felt like it was a part of the reason we were being ignored. One male waiter walked by asking if we were ready and we said yes. He said one second, took another tables’ order and then disappeared (doing various things -ie taking another order, clearing another table, dropping off food for another) for another 5 min+ at which point we decided to leave.

Fresh pasta and great service. Good selection of wines. Tiramisu is worth a try. Not cheap but classy.

The restaurant refused to give a table for two people even though were plenty available, saying they only work by reservation. All in quite a rude manner.

Oh my gosh, what awful service! They didn't come to take our order for nearly an hour after we sat down, and in 2hrs we had only had antipasti. They were very inconsistent with their drinks- half of us had drinks, half didn't...and the ones that did- only got half a glass of wine (for an hour) because the bottle had emptied.. None of this was hard to manage- but for some reason these guys struggled... For such an expensive restaurant- it was very poor indeed. It is a very pretty place- but the service really let's them down.

Conclusion: avoid if you want tasty food and good service. Nice decor though. I came here for a light dinner and drinks 3x persons and was told that we would have to spend more and it seemed like there was a minimum spend. We were looking for a nice place to chill and socialise but was pressured to order more and more food we didn’t want to eat. We ordered a risotto £30, bread basket £8 and some m&a equivalent pate £15 and some other over priced nibbles. The risotto was seriously salty AF like no one had tried it or was a new chef, no way this should leave the kitchen in that state and portion was very small, literally the meal was one layer of rice to fill the plate surface area. We had stayed for quite a while as we had a bottle of wine and the waiter put out our candle as if to encourage us to leave. The restaurant was only at 30pc capacity on a Saturday night. I asked for the bill several times and the waiters were not polite just grunted or said nothing at all. I asked the waiter to take off the service charge and offered some feedback and she said “no need to explain, the manager is coming” Would not come here again even if it was free and I can see why it was not busy whilst other places in the courtyard were bustling! You can ask them to take off the service charge. I will not be paying £20 for someone to treat me like this and the staff need to go to some waiter school or something because they lack manners. Edit: I was thinking about my poor experience post review and it seems that Asian people get a poorer service (based on review names below). If you are an ethnic minority you should probably go elsewhere.

Friendly staff. Good food. Amazing atmosphere. I booked for a birthday occasion. After reminding the staff over 3 times, over the phone and at the restaurant, that it was for a birthday, they forgot to bring out the birthday plate. We ended up not bothering to wait and called it a night. Perhaps the staff can work on paying attention and getting their timing right. Recommend any birthday plate come out before desserts. Once everyone completes their dessert it's too late. Everyone would be full, knackered and ready to go home. Overall 3 stars due to service.

A nice place to catch a bite while walking London. There is a wine subscription club I noticed for locals. The larger restaurant is right around the corner and that is where the bathrooms are located.

Had the pleasure of dining at the Petersham the week before last and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, as was the wine, and the front of house team were so attentive from the moment we stepped in the door giving us brilliant service. The interior is great, I wish I had taken some photos but it slipped my mind, will be back and recommend. Thanks a lot!

Food not tasty, Frustrating service, Overpriced Wine. We dined here on a saturday night and were surprised it was almost empty but then we understood why. First of all the menu was a mess: A random mix of italian and english with a font that's barely readable. Service: The waiter answered our first question very rudely and then went away immediately when I told him we'd need his help to understand the menu. I saw him a few minutes later talking with his colleague and laughing while pointing at us??! The place: It's spacious but you'd expect for this price you'd have more confortable seating. Prices: You need to buy two mains if you're hungry. We thought okay why not if it's good but it wasn't worth it, so we just ate one course and desert. The Wine list is where we understood this was a rip off. It felt like they randomly chose the prices and overall they were even more expansive than the best french restaurants, but they didn't even have a sommelier to justify any of it. At the end, even after all that, the waiter just went ahead and added a 13.5% service charge as if that was the standard? Anyway, if you want a high standard restaurant this is not where you should go. The choice is large in London and this one was a disappointment.

I will start with the basics. Service was not only good it was great! Staff were attentive at all times. They provided recommendations, there was a genuine smile with each plate the placed at the table. They were interactive and polite at all times. The food was so tasty, authentic to the taste, opinionated reviewer as being Spanish I look for the seasoning my mum always plates at home. I’m usually so underwhelmed by so many tapas restaurants and they lack the right seasoning and lack the authentic taste. This did not fail. The ambiance was good and the place is clean and organised

The food and atmosphere were fantastic. However, the service could use some improvement. We were charged for a dish that was unavailable. Additionally, we ordered tea, but after waiting for 15 minutes, we were informed that our order was forgotten. They continuously brought water to our table without asking if we wanted more and cleared dishes without checking if we had finished eating. From interior design aspects.. Ladies watch out.. there is no place to put or hang your bags 😅! The light are soo dim and the candles on the tables are not a safe thing and is uncomfortable with the dimmed lights… Hopefully, they will make improvements to their service & decor choices
