The best restaurants in East of England

Fabulous lunch with my mum. We both chose the Pork Belly with Rosti Potatoe, Braised Savoy Cabbage & Crispy Sage. Absolutely lovely as you can see from the empty plate at the end nothing on it 😍😍😍😍😍🍽️👌👏 Worth the drive there. 🍴Tiramasu (Mum) & Orange Polenta Cake (Me) for afters

The Woodbine Cafe is now an oriental takeaway - sadly the old traditional British restaurant is no more. My wife and I had a takeaway from here recently - the food was pretty decent and prices were comparable to most Chinese takeaways in the area. Delivery took a little longer than expected (around an hour) and they apologised for that. Would consider using them again although there are cheaper options in town.

We have always used Lubbards for our Indian food and it used to be outstanding. However, tonight’s food was very poor in comparison, there was just one bag of salad, no raita, and the mixed starters were dry and quite tasteless. To top it all, I asked as I always do for the vegetable curry that accompanies the biriani to be Madras hot, when it was delivered, I had been charged for an extra full size vegetable curry although I had gone through the order twice with the person on the phone! Will not be bothering again.

Drink arrived nice and hot, delivery quick and delivery person very polite. Great job.

10/10 mixed kebab, fresh salad and cooked amazingly. Would highly recommend.

This is the best Chinese food in Luton. Don’t waste your time eating anywhere else. Seriously. Great rice, perfect chicken always. Curry sauce is flawless. Salt and pepper chicken is the best I have eaten anywhere in the world. Fast friendly service.

My girlfriend went in to order a cup of takeaway tea. She was told they had stopped serving at half past two. Fair enough. She was absolutely desperate for the toilet and said so to the lady there, asking if it would be possible just to quickly use the loo. She was told ‘no’ as it had been cleaned. Pretty mean spirited I think. I notice many people have mentioned how friendly the staff are. When things are going fine it is easy to be friendly, a little bit of humanity here would have shown the owners to be truly thoughtful.

He estado comprando pan y pasteles aquí durante unos años debido a la calidad del producto. Es el mejor pan que he comido en cualquier lugar. Sus pastas están entre las mejores que he probado también. Una panadería artesanal espectacularmente buena y bien vale la pena apoyarla si valoras los buenos productos de panadería. Decepcionantemente, me estoy alejando de Cambridge y extrañaré terriblemente el Cambridge Oven. Esto tiene una calificación de 6 * en la escala de 5 *, gracias y mejores deseos a Jolita y su familia por el futuro de su panadería.

We went for a late lunch on Sunday. The food was fantastic and the service couldn’t have been better. High Ongar is a little out of the way but it’s definitely worth a visit. We will definitely be back 😊

I’ve been to Italy, and that was better. Balanced toppings on a thin bread with a charred crust. Unreal lad and for the price core blimey, one word for you BARGIN

Must write and thank the Station Restaurant for putting on an excellent buffet for our Wake. Quality and quantity plus great staff service helped make the days planning go very well We couldn’t have ask for a better venue and refreshments Highly recommended Thanks to all The Knight Family
