Best plain croissants in Cambridge. We conducted a blinded taste test of 3 different bakeries and found this to have the most delicate crunch, and a delicate soft buttery interior (middle image). There is a queue for the bakery around the corner but really, the Cambridge Oven is better for plain croissants (and also the cinnamon one).

Stopped in for coffee and a croissant - yummy. Delicious freshly-baked pastries and decent coffee. Can definitely recommend

Bagel wars? New York vs Montreal - not to mention Toronto and Einstein's in DC: they're all great, each in its way, but the best bagles I have EVER tasted are from, of all places, Cambridge Oven. Cambridge does not have a bagel tradition: in the eighties you had to go to Golders Green to buy them. Nowadays, the ones imported by Derby stores from Carmelli's are good.... but try Cambridge Oven. And buy a loaf of their moist seeded sourdough too..... . The best bagels I have ever tasted (including all those cites

I popped in today to buy some croissants @ 10:30 a.m. not much selection only cinnamon swirls and plain croissants. So I opted for x2 cinnamon swirls @ £3.10 in total takeaway. I got them home 2 minutes later to eat one was burnt and they were both dried up and tasteless and they ended up in the bin. Waste of money. How can you sell burnt items surely those ones should go in the bin they were overcooked and dry. I shall not be shopping at The Cambridge Oven again.

Since I discovered this bakery in september 2019, it has become my only source of bread. As a french citizen living in Cambridge, the bread quality is of first importance for me and I will not look for another bakery now! The choice of breads is great from the organic wheat flour sourdough loaf to the spelt one, through seeds or kamut and buckwheat... Pastries are great too. The staff is very friendly. This family run business deserves success!

This small artisan bakery offers an array of pastries, hot drinks and other delicacies. There’s now a growing hotbed of these shops emerging on Hills Road, Cambridge. When visiting, don’t expect to get a table - the bakery is very small and there’s only two indoor tables so expect to order to takeaway. Sitting in would definitely make for a better experience. I was one of many people queueing so I sense this bakery is popular! Ordered a pain au chocolate and americano. Both were good, but not world-beating. Despite this, the other pastries look delightful so I will make a conscious effort to select something different next time. A good visit.

Cheese toastie on spelt sourdough. This was a combination made in heaven and I would happily have stayed for days eating them. Add in a good strong espresso and happiness was complete.

Calming & stylish surroundings where the coffee machine and sandwich maker are works or art alongside the small but wonderful display of breads and sweet bakes. A truly outstanding boutique bakery which is about style AND substance!!! Focused service delivering care in the way the coffee was made to the way the bread was packaged in its brown wrapper....they care and it shows!

Having lived in Cambridge for the past 10 years, I'd always been disappointed by the lack of real bread. Thankfully, Cambridge Oven have put an end to my sorrow. Thanks for the amazing bread!

With high expectations from Tripadvisor we visited the bakery the other day at around midday. They only had a few kinds of sourdough, brioche, and three different sandwich. We're vegan so asked which bread is vegan - the server only answered short so we needed to ask each loaf or kind. No gluten free vegan cake. Friday's spelt sourdough was already sold out. I read that they had salad to offer at lunchtime on their website but when I asked about it he was 'we never sell salads". The sourdough we bought was tasty and we were glad that we tried them, but it was such a disappointment to see unfriendly customer service. (To note, the shop was not even crowded. Only two more people having tea with no more needs to be served).

At last, an incredible bakery in Cambridge! I’m incredibly fussy when it comes to pastries and I can honestly say, they are the best, simply delicious (and fresh) - beats Norfolk st bakery hands down. It has become my sat morning ritual - coffee and pastry, with a sourdough to takeaway. Reminds me of some of the magnificent bakeries in France. Love.

The Cambridge Oven is a wonderful new artisan bakery: I first popped in to get a loaf (delicious!) and since then I've made a point of going back again and again. The breads and sourdoughs are incredible -- REAL bread! -- and all of the pastries and cakes I've tried have been fabulous, too.

Without doubt the best sourdough bread I have ever tried, and the cruffins are to die for. Friendly staff who clearly take pride in their beautiful bakery. Cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you!

We popped in for a coffee to go, and grabbed some delicious looking pastries because we couldn't resist. It's a small cafe, right next to some fantastic competition in the shape of Maison Clement and Dulcedo, but The Cambridge Oven are giving them a run for their money.

Cambridge's premier pizza pub! Definitely better than your average pub pizza at food prices.

I like this hotel and always choose to stay here when I can afford it when I am in Cambridge for business. The location is ideal for walking to places in the old part of Cambridge, and there are e-scooters and e-bikes for rental just across the road which make it easy to explore further afield. The start are very polite. My room was large with a comfortable bed; however the air conditioning was noisy and ineffective and it was difficult to get the room at a comfortable temperature, and the hot water wasn’t quite hot enough for a bath. The room rate has become rather expensive (nearly £200 for 1 person B&B plus £28 per night for parking) and at these prices I would expect a flawless luxury room. They really need to consider replacing the aging a/c units. Restaurant is expensive. Breakfast is quite good.

The food is exquisite and the amazing service made the experience exceedingly great, and during the time that we were waiting for out food the lady of the restaurant gave us teas and was extremely friendly! Many thanks for the spring rolls

I've visited this restaurant a few times in the past but unfortunately have stopped since one of our party got food poisoning - we suspect from the oysters - after eating here. We e-mailed the restaurant about this incident as a precaution but received no reply or acknowledgment. A shame since the food and ambience has otherwise been pleasant.

Really lovely little cafe. Treated myself to their lovely porridge and a pot of tea. Lovely way to start the day. I’ll come again next time I’m in Cambridge
