Cafe Foy in Cambridge

For our day trip to Cambridge we saw Cafe Foy and their offer of Shakshuka and just had to try it … and it delivered. Really tasty and was great to eat by the riverside and out of the rain!

Good experience, although a significantly reduced menu on our visit. The Turkish eggs is a good option with chorizo added.

Very good food at fair prices. The toastie of the week was delish, and the service was great.

Fabulous food and excellent service. Ordered mushrooms with garlic and cognac sauce, fried egg and crispy bacon on sourdough. Made fresh in front of us. Delicious. Best meal we had on our 11 day trip. Very friendly staff

Here the food came as they looked in the pictures on the reviews and better! The shakshuka was really well balanced in flavours and beautifully seasoned, Welsh rarebit had the perfect creaminess with salty anchovy accent. Perfect brunch spot on the side of the canal. Be sure to arrive on time as it’s a busy spot. The service was casual, friendly and buzzing. Def recommend.

Found this gem of a place after punting and had a lovely light lunch we opted for a special of barrata cheese serano ham open sandwich with salsa and garlic and was delicious along side a speciality beer the owner was so helpful friendly and informative a huge thank you to you and your staff for an enjoyable time

One of the best avocado toasts in Cambridge! If it's a nice day out you can sit by the river and enjoy the view as well as the food:)

Very nice experience. Had to wait for a table on a Sunday morning, but once seated, received very pleasant and proficient service from a Kenneth Branagh look-alike. Good Bloody Mary's, excellent eggs and salmon. Quayside people watching a kick.

Just ordered an iced-chai latte and it tastes of nothing. Didn’t put any chai in, just some milk and ice. Wouldn’t recommend at all

Stopped here for a coffee and cake yesterday. Lovely spot by the river, the staff were really nice. My coffee order was incorrect but I was happy with what they brought anyway, especially as they then didn't charge me for it. Great customer service with a smile, we will definitely return and I recommend you try Cafe Foy.

Delicious food and great service!

We had breakfast today and, while we enjoyed everything else, the Turkish breakfast was too oily for our taste and we couldn't finish it. Despite this, the rest of the meal was absolutely delicious and we’ll definitely go back again.

Food was fine (not to many options) but service was quite poor. Had to wait soo long for simple tap water . The guy server was fine.

Delicious food with a lovely atmosphere - chose the shakshuka and added chorizo, which really set me up for the rest of the day in Cambridge. Highly recommend this fantastic café and cannot wait to come back to try their incredible-looking breakfast bagel!

Great spot in town. I had brunch with 3 others. All the food was excellent along with a great team of waiters. I’d recommend the breakfast bagel it was delicious and I will be back!

Although there are foods that relieve greasiness, they are still a bit greasy...not suitable for the appetite of East Asians. It tastes good

Such a great brunch spot, banging Bloody Mary, well made coffee and tasty and balanced brunch! Staff were so attentive and friendly!

Poor experience had here at this Café. The food took 45 minutes to arrive, despite being rather simple to cook, and the waitresses were ill-informed, poorly trained and rude. Would not recommend.

Had the Foy fizz so yummy, summer in a glass. Lovely service and atmosphere, so upsetting that they’re closing for winter :(

First time at this cosy, buzzing eatery next to the river Cam. Delightful and attentive service. Food presentation and quality was excellent. Sitting inside due to chilly weather felt somewhat cramped but come summer, Al fresco dining will possibly be the better option. Will return.

Delicious brunch options! This place has a small menu for brunch, which is perfect because you know everything will be made to order. We ordered Turkish eggs and a veggie bagel with a latte and an Americano. Food came out fast after receiving our coffee. The food tasted fresh, tasty, and delicious. The service is great with helpful staff. The sitting area of the restaurant is amazing since it's next to cambridge River.

Had a great visit to Cafe Foy. The food was so delicious, and lovely to enjoy sitting outside by the river. Can't wait to go again! Also lovely that it was dog friendly!

This area is a bit of a tourist honey pot with plenty of mid market restaurants. Cafe Foy offers a nice alternative of lighter meals. My Welsh rarebit was very good!

We spent few days in Cambridge and were wondering how such a nice city had very few places to eat with a terrasse. Well, on our last day, we found out about quayside bay which few minutes walk from the center, by the river. They have several restaurants and bars where you can sit outside and enjoy people watching without cars driving by. We went to Foy restaurant and enjoy a bottle of rose of Provence and their special ‘Foy toastie’. Service was good, efficient. Food and wine were great. All at an affordable price

Wife and I got the breakfast bagel, eggs on toast and two lattes. Breakfast bagel has to be best breakfast we have in years. If there were 6 stars it would rate it!

Had a quick meal at Cafe Foy before boarding the punting tour. Despite the busy crowd, managed to get seated outdoor. Ordered Breakfast Bagel, it was replaced with normal bread. It was good with English Breakfast served. The cafe was near the Quayside. Customer Service was amazing.

Had a lovely lunch here. Service was excellent and they brought our dog some water. We needed to wait for the rest of our party but there was no rush It was pretty busy and they did run out of some dishes. Nice outdoor seating.

The hummus was divine, wine was perfect, and people were lovely!

I cannot thank this wonderful cafe enough for providing 50 colleagues on a works summer outing, shelter from the pouring rain. We drank their delicious coffee and wine and enjoyed the excellent customer service. What a charming little cafe this is.

A prime place to sit outdoors and people watch as in a super location by the river. Great selection of drinks. There was also a snacks menu although that didn't seem to be available when we were there. Take-away drinks also available. VERY popular so there may be a wait for a table.

Our favourite spot in Cambridge. We love coming here for a drink and some food. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious and we always love the touch of fresh flowers.

Me and some friends visited the Foy for some drinks and really enjoyed ourselves! It’s a really lovely location, right next to the river cam and the service was great!

This is a fantastic place for a small snack or cup of tea while waiting for your ride on the punt or just to sit and watch people admire the river. During the high tourist season, you might want to try to reserve a table, as it gets ridiculously busy. The small menu for food has some great and unique choices, and I'd like to go back just to explore that menu a little more. It's not a good place to work with colleagues, it's really a little cafe for tourists enjoying the sun.

Délicieux petit déjeuner/brunch Tartine sourdough avec œuf, très bonne. Matière premières de bonne qualité ->plats délicieux. La carte propose peu de plat mais l’offre est suffisante pour satisfaire tous les Goûts.

Really good breakfast on a sunny spring morning, I dined on the delicious Sashshuka with extra chorizo, simply Devine! And the hummus was also good as well. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Nice location near the river, you can sit outside and enjoy the river view or can sit inside. Staff friendly. Giving 4 star as the hot chocolate was very good but not extra ordinary.

Stopped here after punting for brunch this morning with friends. Friendly service with a menu that was refreshingly different. Tasty, quality food, nicely presented. Had the Rarebit, began and Turkish eggs. All delicious and fresh. Took some feedback very graciously. Good selection of cakes/pastries too - croissants and pain au chocolates were huge! Has lots of outside seating for the sunny days. Would definitely recommend. Good job Matt and Sophie!

Great drink, amazing location. Most impressively, the billing experience was the best in the UK. Every restaurant should book a training here to learn how to carry around an iPad and a pose machine to improve productivity, which was the pride of the UK, and to save everyone’s time :)

Very small, so was busy on a Saturday. But we got a seat indoors which was great. Had a good selection of drinks and cakes when we visited. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars for food was because my tea was a little stewed - I prefer the teabag to have kissed the water and, in this case, it was obvious that it had been sitting there a while. But it was ok to drink and my companion's cold chocolate drink was delicious. If I visit again, I will ask them to leave teabag on the side 🙂 Servers were lovely 🙂

My daughter is a student and recommended coming here. It was a great experience from the minute we walked in and is definite going to be one of my favourite places to meet friends . The staff were so friendly including the guys behind the bar. They gave us a great table in the window despite only being 2 of us. The food options were super lots of flexibility, healthy and a good price . My daughter couldn’t resist the Terry’s chocolate orange hot chocolate ! It arrived in good time , was hot and delicious. My only concern is limited in door seating so you would need to go early as it’s bound to be popular.

Absolutely delicious in a wonderful setting.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning for a coffee and had a couple of chunky slices of GF toast and marmalade too. You need to run the gauntlet outside of young men asking if you want to go punting on the Cam but it was worth wading through to get sat down, fed and watered. Excellent cappuccino and will return for a breakfast before long.

Turned up in the afternoon to this spot which I’d heard loads about from friends. It was chilled, fun and kept the wine flowing. Sophie, Bella and Emma made sure we were looked after. Class act. Get down. You won’t regret it.
