Wanted to love it but freezing rock hard sourdough for a 17£ brunch is slightly disappointing!

The quality of the coffee and tea was very good. The blondie was also very tasty. However, I cannot give more than 3 stars due to the high prices. My order cost £10.90, which is quite expensive even for Cambridge. It's a shame as the cafe is pleasant and the service was quick and efficient. I would suggest reconsidering the strict no-laptop policy. Even if I didn't need to use one, a more flexible approach, such as limiting laptop use to a maximum of one hour, might be more welcoming.

I was feeling rather tired after walking around Cambridge and stopped in here for a light lunch and a sit down. It was very good. I had a toasted sandwich off the specials board and a cold drink - both were delicious 😋 Recommended!

Love this place in the summer outside is great, now its always warm and cosy indoors. They're toastie with pastrami and pickle is the best in Cambridge. Great coffee and smoothies

On first impression it was great. We loved the atmosphere and artwork inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful initially when I asked about the menu. However when we received our order there had been a miss communication regarding one of the plates of food. From them taking the order and the kitchen preparing it, to it then being served. Honestly as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for years from floor staff to management - I was shocked at how we were spoken to when we asked for it to be amended. The person who came to us and asked what we ordered denied that we had order it a certain way in the first place. Upon us saying that we had certainly ordered it GF they pulled a face. - This whole interaction felt very confrontational. Next we could see that member of staff behind the counter talking to the other members of staff and pointing at our table. Of course I understand that you are communicating to the team but it honestly felt unnecessary to repeatedly point and frankly it's rude. Needless to say a different member of staff then approach us to say it was being made which we thanked them for. I can quite easily say that I do not often feel the need to leave reviews and normally if I do it's because it's been a great experience. And this was until we were made to feel that we were being unreasonable. This was our first time in The Locker Cafe - seriously not a great impression.

I tried calling you a few times but the number didn't work, so I contacted you twice by Messenger and received automated replies but no actual response. I’m an Australian from Sydney and turned up to see my convict ancestors family home, only to discover it was now a cafe! Which meant I could enter inside his former home which was amazing to see and sit and reflect!!

Cosy cafe with good range of hot drinks and cakes.

Walked past and was drawn in by the menu. Food was lovely and the coffee (black americano) was really good. Highly recommend.

Saddened to have been met at the counter (after choosing what I’d wanted) with and unprompted ‘just so you know you can’t use laptops here’. As it happened I did want to read on my tablet. Totally get the premise… but it makes for a very threatening atmosphere, and would make much more sense if the place were heaving… upstairs there was me and one other person (~9 empty tables). I’m not the only one as two other girls came in worried because of a similar comment. We all agreed we’ll avoid in the future because of this. You should know you’re driving people away. Why not have laptops but a time limit? Also, does this extend to reading a book? This is a university town!

Served me wrong tea, food was almost inedible.. the mushrooms smelt and tasted strange and the avocado wasn't ripe, there was rock hard pieces. No seasoning whatsoever.. the sourdough was the only good thing.

Wonderful chai latte, however the vibe is strange - there are a few small decisions that makes it seem like they just want to take your money and then kick you to the kerb. Specifically, they have a loyalty card, however it is only for espresso drinks. Additionally, they have a no-laptops on the weekends rule, which I understand the reasoning behind, however the rule is enforced even when there are mostly empty tables and the cafe is nowhere near capacity.

Breakfast was pretty poor. Didn’t enjoy the avocado toast was really weak. Very expensive too

Lovely little cafe and brunch spot in Cambridge, but the value for money, with regard to the portion sizes, is scandalous. Had to get our own menus and drinks being sat outside, so can't say much about the service. Food quality and atmosphere gives it 2 stars.

The locker cafe is my favourite brunch cafe with prefect coffee's and delicious foods. Stuff is very friendly and attendive. The atmosphere is so cozy and the outdoor sitting is a hard to find thing. It is also dog friendly.

Cozy atmosphere with more space upstairs and where you can chill under the sunlight. Laptops aren't allowed downstairs, nor upstairs on weekends. My matcha was ok. It had spices or flavours other than matcha on the bottom which didn't taste terrible, but I ordered a matcha latte, not a hybrid, mysterious drink of some sort😅😅 Nonetheless, I'll be back to try other things like coffee as the overall vibes at the cafe was quite nice :)

Wonderful place with really tasty coffee. We went there in the evening and thought it would be too late for a coffee and decided to try decaf. It was very delicious!!! Plus, dessert - super delightful. Highly recommend to try!

I was visiting a friend in Cambridge and came here after a run. Ordered a latte and a hot honey avocado toast with an egg. Latte was delicious. The hot honey avo was quite unique, a delicious mix of sweet and savory; but my only question is who needs that slice of lime that was served on the side? I sat outdoors upstairs, really good breeze of air, especially brilliant after a run!

Late breakfast on a Tuesday morning, ordered the salmon bagel. It was OK, nothing special . They have secured a terrace area across the road for outdoor seating which is nice. Staff are polite and friendly and service is quick.

Good service, delivered to your table. Food and coffee a bit expensive and tastes minority better; small portions. Usually quite busy, especially on weekends, may be a wait, otherwise a nice atmosphere. My most personal, and utterly subjective gripe is the no laptop policy on the ground floor, and no laptops whatsoever on weekends. As someone trying to get work done it’s a deal breaker. But I could see many people appreciating that. If you’re the type of person that appreciates atmosphere, avocado toast, and are not bothered by pricey coffee than I’d wholeheartedly recommend it. If not, go to Savino’s just down the road.

Busy popular cafe that does proper fresh leaf tea, sweet treats and a good menu with lots of options to cater to dietary requirements. Food was good however slightly cold when it arrived and a little more bread would have improved it.

I prefer my coffee without a side of ideology on the window, so I will not be returning to this place.

If it were not recommended by Lonely Planet, tourists would not go to this relatively remote place. Maybe nearby residents come here to eat and drink coffee, but if you are a tourist, you really don’t need to come here: it’s quite far away, the taste is not outstanding, everything is relatively ordinary, and so is the atmosphere and environment. The price is not cheap either, that’s all.

This used to be one of my favourite brunch places when I lived in Cambridge! I‘ve now moved out but came back to visit a friend, and I was really happy that we could find a table for 2 as it is always pretty busy. The staff is always very kind, the atmosphere so warm and cosy, and the food is great!

Yummy brunch, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. I recommend going there on a weekday if you want to avoid the weekend crowd.

Delicious coffee and great pastries. The Café has a large outdoor sunny terrace which is great when the sun is out!

The vibe is really nice but the breakfast we ordered was very dry and not appealing. They also weren’t, at all, flexible in the way they would serve the egg. Overall wouldn’t give it more than 2 because of the coffee and would not recommend the food. Maybe if they change their ways I’ll give it a shot again but for now it’s only a coffee place if all others are shut.

It's my go-to place for breakfast or brunch when I visit Cambridge. Nice atmosphere as it is a small and cute place but that makes it hard to find a table during busy hours. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. Their hot chocolate is very nice as well! ☕

I used to really like this place. However, they have since changed their menu with some shrinkflation tactics (making default options smaller and charging extra for add-ons) and I believe they also got rid of the student discount. This left me disappointed on my last visit, but then again, I had high expectations from my previous visits.

Busy bustling cafe. You will need to wait for a table from around 10-12 on the weekends. No laptops or tablets allowed here at the weekends, to make room for groups. They bring your order to your table. Outdoor seating across the road. I would like to return for brunch.

Had breakfast here before a tour of Cambridge , halloumi and shrooms , really good fresh tasty and great quality. The coffee was superb , really recommend this one

Best breakfast in Cambridge on a Monday

Staff and atmosphere were fab. The brunch is also nice. The toasty (approx. £7) had a single rasher of bacon, which was… an interesting cost saving choice.

Great for a quick bite and a chat off the beaten/crowded paths of Cambridge. They usually have plenty of space upstairs.

Bloody excellent coffee, and I’m definitely a coffee snob, with friendly service in this small, busy cafe. We were so impressed by the coffee that we stayed for brunch which was also pretty good.

Food and customer service was amazing. We ordered the pancakes which came with delicious mascarpone,blueberries, maple syrup and strawberries. The poached eggs and toast were also superb. The locker cafe has a wonderful warm and cozy atmosphere perfect for the cold weather. Definitely recommend

Nice enough place with very well meaning staff and consistent reasonable quality but always a shock when told the price. £4.20 for a standard cup of hot chocolate is just taking it too far. However, it's always heaving with students on their laptops so they must know what they're doing.

Food is great, a little pricey but worth it I think. Great coffee, clean cafe, nice if you can get a window seat. Worth a visit for breakfast. The rosemary and thyme mushrooms are so nice.

Tip top brunch. The best in Cambridge IMO. He sourdough bread is incredible, very fresh. Food delivered hot to table (difficult considering how many tables they were turning over!! ) very impressive. Coffee also great. Will be back for more.

Don’t recognise this place anymore, used to be the best coffee in town… now there’s no difference between some random pub coffee. Food is terrible and crazy overpriced for what you get… Sad because it used to be my favourite spot.

Great little independent cafe. Visited here whilst waiting for car to be serviced. Coffee was strong and good, food was fresh and well presented. Inside was a little grubby to be honest and could do with a good scrub but quite common in little cafes with a lot of wood. Would visit again 👍

The food is fresh and delicious even though I didn’t see anything special, just usual eggs on sourdough bread, avocado, mushrooms, waffles. For such a limited choice and lack of creativity the place seems a bit overpriced though I honestly can’t complain about quality and taste of food :) Was not impressed with my sitting spot, it was located near the private car park and noisy. My table wasn’t completely clean.

Great coffee and friendly staff - a great place to come and work as a student. They have a whole upstairs area where you can study (separate from the busier and noiser downstairs) and it had a great atmosphere - relaxed yet studious.

The 'Art gallery'turned out to be a few pictures on the upstairs walls, that weren't accessible due to the tables and customers. Nice food and drinks though

Very pleasant chilled-out cafe. Dog friendly. I can imagine it would get very busy in term time but it had a a really nice buzz and relaxed atmosphere during the holidays and was a lot quieter than the cafes in the main tourist drag which I liked.

Our dog was very welcome - such lovely staff and quality brunch!
