Lovely little cafe on the bus routes and open before 11am

Lovely breakfast, this place never disappoints! The Turkish breakfast is my go to, love it

A very basic cafe. The door wouldn’t shut properly, so a very cold draught surrounded us. The toilets needed a good clean. The food was ok. The service was very friendly.

Never been disappointed, always will be the first choice for my breakfast, higly recommended

Went for a quick breakfast, had ordered smoke salmon and avocado and my wife got the vegetarian , all tasted good but pricey

Went with class to allow them to learn the value of money. Staff went above and beyond for my class. We will return.

Lovely food and good service but the atmosphere would improve so much if the door could be fixed so that it didn't end up ajar after every time anybody goes through it, it's always so draughty!

Great little place, lovely friendly staff and great food I had a mocha with a sun-dried tomato, mozzarella and black olive toasted panini. It was very tasty and now I know this place is here I’ll definitely be coming back 🥰

When the owner is around , I always get delicious food . When these two girls are at the front and he is not there I get the most disgusting food , not eating it , it’s all crushed, wet and really bad. you’ve just lost a very repeat customer

Food is fab, lovely coffee. The only bit I don't like is it's served on wooden boards and I prefer a plate that can be put in a dishwasher

Interesting to read the review that said 'dirty looks from staff as 20 minutes from closing' because that is exactly what happened with us! Gentleman was much more welcoming and took over. I wasn't expecting much but the Hummus, Falafel and roasted vegetable panini was delicious.

We were so glad to find this little gem of a cafe during our visit to Cambridge that we visited three times over the weekend. There was a great choice of vegetarian options (halloumi, hummus and grilled vegetables baguette was amazing!). The staff were very friendly and prices very good! I’ll definitely be back when in Cambridge.

Food is English café style with a bit of Mediterranean. Beans in a bowl on the side of your plate (don't get it!)

Was going to go to a different cafe but I found it close - thanks universe! Bread and Butter was a lovely surprise: simple and unpretentious food, nice atmosphere, this small cafe is perfect if you fancy a quick meal. I paid just under £12 for a latte and a (pretty big) oriental breakfast that came with bread on the side as well - I found it very fair, as the service was friendly and quick, they paid attention to my unusual allergies and the meal was exactly what I expected and very tasty. Sorry for no pictures: I couldn’t help digging in as soon as I got my food! The empty plate proves how much I enjoyed it.

Bread and butter cafe it's well located near the city centre. Sadly the place is quite tiny so you are overwhelmed by city jam, angry neighbors. They advertise English breakfast but the staff struggle to understand my request for a Bacon bap (aka Bacon butty, bacon sarnie, rasher sandwich, bacon cob, bacon barm, bacon muffin...you name it) but that's all right the latte coffee was great and the ciabatta bread was perfectly fine. My biggest complaint is the price and the lack of atmosphere.

Not many cafes in Cambridge that have amazing staff, great food and speedy, however here the staff always great you with a smile, accomadate to you, very friendly and food is amazing would highly recommend

Lovely little cafe with cappuccino to die for. Staff so friendly and helpful and with wonderful memory. David hadn't been in for over a year and they remembered him. Spotlessly clean and you can get delivery by deliveroo. Pop in when you're near its worth it. Xx

I had their traditional breakfast was very nice good quality ingredients really can't complain at all the service was quick and the staff there are very polite and nice definitely recommend going here for breakfast and many more things aswell

Grabbed a sandwich on the go around 18th April 2 ladies working there one in the kitchen was really nice and friendly but the whole time speaking in another language to each other loudly which I find extremely rude especially while serving me and it made me feel very anxious as you don't know if I was being spoken about, had spicy chicken sandwich got back to my office 2 mins away and then twigged the ping I heard was the chicken being warmed up well it was luke warm and had like a tomato sauce on it like bolognaise and was not a spicy sauce really disappointing plus as it was re-heated chicken at a luke warm temperature the £4.50 sandwich went straight in the bin waste of time and money, try and support local and get that so will just go for a coop meal deal in future!

Unfortunately it was poor and staggered service, over cooked eggs for one, undercooked eggs for other, unripe avocado, Dunno how you get toast wrong, came with a free hair from the chef's head. Could do better 😪

Just popped in for a coffee to kill time while my Wife was getting her hair cut nearby. Stupidly didn’t see the sign that said ‘ Cash only ‘ before I ordered. The owner said it wasn’t a problem and that I could pay next time. A fabulous gesture. The coffee was excellent and luckily my wife had cash on her. I will be back

Great selection. Friendly service. Good price. We enjoyed a spot of lunch here. Other people were having breakfasts that looked brilliant.

Wow. We walk in an order a cup of tea to go plus an Americano. Dirty looks from the staff as they were 20 mins from closing, but we digress. The americano was absolutely tiny, 90% foam. The tea was an insult to cafes. The tea was disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves. It was the milkiest tea I have ever see. When I got home I tried to fix the tea by adding another tea bag, that’s when I realised she ripped the teabag and the tea was full of the leaves. I knew we were in trouble with the sour looks. She never asked me if I wanted milk or sugar. I mean, how on earth can you run a cafe but be unable to make a cup of tea?? Unforgivable! And I won’t go back. Ps: I wish I took a photo of the tea, but it would be an insult to camera roll.

I asked for lettuce, salad cream, cheese and ham. The lady put tomato in. Went back in and said I didnt ask for tomato. She took it out and gave it back, I said no there's still tomato juice and seeds. No tomatoes they make me sick. She said okay okay, I stood waiting for 10 minutes... to receive the same panini back with the tomato juice and seeds. I said no I need you to make me a fresh one like you just said you would. Not give me back the same one for the 3rd time.

I went yesterday for first time and it is nice place. The staff are super nice, I bought a coffee and piece of Baklava and the guy gave me additional two pieces on the house. Their prices are very good too.

Only Halal Full English breakfast place in Cambridge. As always, excellent food and service. Always the same quality! Jacket potatoes also come as a good size with plenty of toppings unlike some others who are tight on the toppings. Always able to add extras or take bits off on a breakfast.

Nice café with fancy leaf teas and good light bites: cakes, pastries, sandwiches, including a lot of vegan or gluten-free options. We sat outside and the waitress warned us to watch for seagulls, but none were in evidence.

Brilliant little cafe, owner is an absolute gem of a person and customer service was top notch. 5 Stars for sure.

Dropped in for a quick coffee during a the cold Saturday morning bike ride. Met Usman behind the counter - lovely man with a quick smile. I came in the next day with family and got a few sandwiches and hot drinks to go, all delicious. Really look forward to returning and eating in. Usman said all the food was halal, they serve turkey bacon and beef sausages.

Food was okay, I found the food tasty but it was turkey bacon and I did ask if it was traditional bacon as was told it was,

I had a lovely all day breakfast. Been to this cafe many times and always lovely food.

I'm from up north but believe the price to be fair. Its a nice small but busy cafe, a bit cramped to keep social distance but I was taking away. I ordered a bacon roll and waited a few moments, it came and chef was super polite as he handed it to me. It was generously filled with well cooked bacon and a healthy amount of source, lightly toasted on the outside and was excellently hot, totally delicious, my only problem is that I can't come more often. 10/10 visit.

Good food and good value. Just please don’t forget to add cheese for veg breakfast baguette every time... it doesn’t taste good without cheese:(

My group haunts this place - I'm not a massive fan, but the food is edible and it's the cheapest in the immediate area so I guess thats a win for Bread and Butter

The food is quite nice, but not too filling, the service leaves space for improvement. Other customers who came after us, got the food first, and they had exactly the same order, and the waitress (who took the orders) brought it there just because they reacted first to her coming. But even without it, took a while to prepare it (breakfast in the morning). Don't go there if you're in a hurry.

Nice wee woman on the till and friendly guys in the kitchen added to the experience not to mention a very tasty breakfast. Great coffee too. 👌🏼

The only thing you shouldn’t forget is that it’s cash only but there is a cash point really near the cafe. There is nothing to say bad, if you visit, you’ll see.

I ordered the vegetarian breakfast, and I was deeply disappointed. The lack of seasoning, the amount of white bread (usually a choice of bread is given), and the fact that the toasts were oily, severely ruined the dish in it's entirety. And for some reason, they are quite cheap on the napkins. I got a really small one. Also, cash only? Seriously? In 2020?

I visited today because the place had many vegetarian options to choose from and the prices are absolutely reasonable. I liked the breakfast and atmosphere alright, it's a cute little shop that is not overrun by tourists. The toast already came buttered, which is very considerate. If you're looking to fill your tummy, you won't be disappointed, as it serves its purpose just fine. Unfortunately I cannot say the food was outstanding, it was pretty average but that's nothing negative.

I stopped here as I was very early for a meeting; really friendly & welcoming staff, and the bacon roll I had was fantastic & the coffee good too. If I’d have had longer I would have gone for a full breakfast.

This is a nice cafe with pleasant staff, a wide-ranging menu and reasonable prices but their vegetarian breakfast was something of a slight let-down. Unfortunately, the baked beans weren’t very hot, there was one small, cold fried tomato, an unexciting hash brown and no vegetarian sausages. The eggs were okay along with the mushrooms but, as breakfasts go, it wasn’t the most inspiring. As I say, it’s a nice cafe with a lot of choice in terms of paninis and omelettes. The vegetarian breakfast comes in at under 5 GBP and the cafe only takes cash payments. I’d be tempted to return for one or the many other food options they have.

"Too good to go" goody bag that I was rescuing consisted of a stale cheese sandwich and a drink........costing me 3.50 gbp. Very disappointing and a huge rip off.

Don't rescue a food package from this place using the "Too Good to Go" app. For 3.50 I received a stale cheese sandwich..... Yes that was my food package that I was rescuing....A very mediocre, non-fresh cheese sandwich. Very very disappointing.....

Excellent food and very friendly staff

Expensive and disappointing. Perhaps it was my selection of food but I would have thought that if ever there was a place to be a decent sandwich it would be in Cambridge. Wrong. I liked the decor but disprove of the small expensive food.

One of the cheaper cafes I found that does English breakfast (6.95), coffee was really nice quality too, and I don't like bacon much so I was really pleased I could swap it out for more hash browns! Definitely will come back

You can have anything on a panini, ciabatta, roll or baked potato. Coffee is great and they do full breakfasts. It's really tasty. You need cash though as they don't take card payments

Went there with friends few times, a very small and hidden cafe on Milton road, worth the visit just cause the food there is brilliant and the service is beyond expectations. Once on a Sunday, we did not have a table as the cafe was packed but we decided to wait, they made us fresh juice as an apology, free of charge(they did not have to!). I always go for the Mediterranean or the oriental breakfast, tasty and amazing! Small portion of the bread though, especially for 2 people. The coffee is better than anything else I had in Cambridge so far! Highly recommended.Definitely worth a visit and a try. Will go back soon!

The food was so appauling never been to a worse place to eat than that first no tables were clean they were all sticky and messy the food was undercooked and when I was eating they decided to start spraying anti bacterial spray right next to keep to clean the dirty tables I would recommend that no one should eat there not unless your hunting for a bad stomach

Came here to have some breakfast tried the Mediterranean breakfast. I wasn’t expecting much but it was absolutely wonderful. Will definitely come back to try their paninis and other dishes but judging from the one I tried I bet everything is nice. Definitely recommend!

Like the rest of Cambridge places cheap ingredients as they have to pay high rents so was pretty poor but staff were ok
