A first time visit to this restaurant as we'd not visited before. Nice cozy, atmospheric place with extremely attentive waitresses. The food was truly delicious - kinda wish we hadn't bulked up on the lovely bread and olives as there are many more dishes we'd like to try...we'll be back.

A lovely venue out with my friend, welcoming, attentive staff, good well presented food, excellent value for money, two courses meal for £13.95 I will defiantly be returning soon

Fantastic food, tender lamb, succulent monk fish and brilliant service! Came for Mothers Day and expected delays with service., but NO! The staff were attentive, quick and very friendly. Well worth the price as the food was spectacular. Would definitely recommend and will visit again! I am one very content ans happy Mother! 😊

What a breath of fresh air!! This restaurant opened in December 2024 in the beautiful village of High Ongar. We went last night 25th February and i can honestly say the service was exceptional, there was 8 of us and everyone said how great this new restaurant is, the food was amazing and for each course they threw in a complimentary dish, fun waiters with a sense of humor but not in your face, the decor was nice very cosy, they are opening a section at the back of the restaurant which isn't complete yet so summer time will be awesome. It isn't overpriced either. will defo be returning.

The best mediterranean food that I have had in uk. Very tasty food and excellent service. I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

Average food, small portions and poor service. Meals come with salad only. A lot of other Turkish restaurants are the same price if not cheaper and you get more for example chips or rice. Won’t be returning

This is a new restaurant in Ongar and I have to say I am so pleased. Four of us went for dinner on a Friday evening. We were shown to a table of our choice and ordered drinks. The restaurant has gone through extensive refurbishment and looks very expensive. The tables are nicely spaced out so you are not feeling cramped. The waiter came over with the menus and returned a little while later to take our orders. We didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive and when it did it looked great. No small portions here. My wife had chicken shish and said it was the nicest she had had in a long time. I had the lamb chops fully expecting the three small things they serve in other places. On the plate, there was a large and very tasty salad and four good sized chops. They were perfectly cooked. I had to leave one because I was stuffed. Starters, mains and desserts were faultless. The staff were attentive, friendly and good at their jobs. It is not a cheap restaurant but it is certainly value for money. We will be back, and soon. On the way out the waiter gave me a small bag with my uneaten chop inside. I had that Saturday.

Food was average service very strange if you wanted anything that cost money de vice good. If you wanted anything achieved poor staff not helpful at all wouldn’t rush back

Great food and superb friendly service on a busy evening and this is our second visit. All dishes at sensible prices taking into account the portion sizes and the home made dessert’s are delicious. Highly recommendable.

This restaurant has it all, it has been refurbished to a high standard, the ambiance is superb. The staff are attentive and kind. The food was first class, there was no rush at all, no one pushing us in or out. There were three of us, we all had differ t starters, main course and dessert, we all said the dishes were first class and would give Sheesh in Green Park London a run for its money, portions were generous, food was very fresh, price was very fair. Good Luck you deserve it, we will be back soon.

Excited to try this new restaurant a few days ago . When I booked the table I ideally wanted it for 8 pm but they said could I make 8.30pm I said yes no problem . On arrival I thought it would be a lot busier than it was and unsure why we couldn’t book for 8pm . Anyway , we where shown to our table and immediately handed the menu . It’s a full extensive menu . Within a few minutes the waiter asked for our order, we hadn’t had a chance to look and hadn’t even been asked if we would like drinks . We ordered our drinks and then when we where ready ordered our meal . I did explain to the waiter that I felt we where being rushed . He seemed to understand and apologised . I managed to slow the experience down a little ! I must say the food was very good . I ordered the calamari and the lamb chops . We where a table of 4 and had a lovely time but also noticed that at the end of the evening we where the only table left and the chefs and waiters where hanging , around really waiting for us to leave . I will definitely return but would just like to feel not so rushed . Lovely refurbished and the food is very good . 👍

Fantastic new restaraunt. The owner and staff are all lovely, greeted on arrival and friendly fantastic service. The decor is beautiful. The food was delicious especially the sigara boregi and creamy mushrooms for starters. The desserts were 5*. The cocktails were also great 👌 Would highly recommend and will definetly be back.

Exciting we get a new restaurant in the village. Started with lychee martini, £13. I had halloumi to start which was amazing! I had penne arribiata for my main but it had too much garnish and lacked a tomatoey flavour. My husband had a mixed grill which at £27 came with no rice/buckweat - it was meat and salad. He had a bread with meat topping to start. The bread came up at the same time as our starters my hubby loved it, but it was like a thick foccacia bread with no marinade. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but it’s new and it’s nearly Christmas. I had another cocktail and a bottle of water both of which I had to request. I really want you to do well, everyone loves a Turkish……… but your prices exceed Kervan Kitchen whilst the food, service, menu choices and all the finishing touches of the restaurant (cutlery/glasswear/seating etc) aren’t anywhere near to the same standard. £97 for 2, 2 courses, 2 cocktails, 1 beer. The owner should be in the restaurant greeting and talking to customers getting a feel of what people think of the place, coming round with a limoncello and thanking customers for coming. And the kitchen staff were ALL standing around looking at their phones once our dinner was served and things had quietened down for them.

They also do an excellent Take Away option. I love Turkish food & we called on the off chance, which was not a problem. The food was excellent, good quality, well cooked, not dried out, and lots of it! Maybe a bit pricey for a take away but just to reiterate, it was good. We’re going back next with friends to eat in the restaurant so will update afterwards!!

Visited on Thursday evening to this newly renovated restaurant in our village. Great to see they have kept the character of the listed building and the food was amazing with very friendly and helpful staff, complements to the chef/owner on the evening. Highly recommended, will definitely be back

Excellent food. Plentiful and really tasty. My lamb kebabs were very tender with a light well seasoned barbecue surface. My partner had the Adana kebab was well seasoned with a bit of spice. Overall very pleased.

Booked a table for opening day and it was lovely. Completely refurbished from the old sanuk although window is still broken which given all the expense on refurb seems strange to have left. Food and service was really good. Lots of young kids there but...
