The best restaurants in Saffron Walden Audley Uttlesford East of England

My friends and I have had ABC delivery multiple times and each time, we are greeted with the most exceptional standard of food. Not only is the price incredibly low, but the quality and bursting flavours are completely undeniable. There isn’t a food location I would recommend more as ABC continues to shine and prove to us that they are the number 1 fried chicken spot in Essex. The delivery service is incomparable and all the workers we have encountered have been nothing but polite and full of joy. The kebabs are divine, the chicken is simply delicious and the garlic dip is to die for. I can’t wait to eat more! 🍽️

Midweek problems so we ordered 2 spicy chicken kebabs. Good service, good food but only one had the pitta bread. No point phoning that night it would be to late. So because it was so nice we ordered again at the weekend. Mentioned it when placing the order and what did we get an extra pitta. Come on ffs we needed that a few days ago not tonight. Time to go elsewhere again.

ordered at 19:45. After 5 phone calls it arrived at 21:25. Delivery drive said he was 5 lins away at 20:50. Apprently he was "stopped by police" Garlic bread inedible Pizza cold and incorrect-not what was ordered. Pasta inedible Avoid

Absolutely love this place. Secret warehouse vibe. Been here several times for dinner and lunch. Anywhere that serves small sharing plates I am there. Delicious.

Wonderful! Never been in before and popped in for a lunchtime pint, had 3 from Mauldons and 2 from Nene Valley, superbly kept what I had. Lots of interesting railway memorabilia dotted around the place (was once right opposite the station) has a perfect feel for me, a few people in (about 10) all chatting quietly enjoying the beer, will be back for sure!

What abismal service. I cannot believe I am writing these words. Yet to have food arrive which was ordered at approx 7pm, I am certain it will not arrive for obvious reasons (now 10:30, operating hours end at 10pm). Was informed multiple times it was '3 orders in' 'the next order' or 'with the driver' but that refunds don't normally go through because 'the company we use don't like sending them'. At no point was it suggested that maybe we could arrange our own collection, or that a refund would be issued and could we agree to cancel the almost £100 order. Line was 'busy' for the last half hour before closing time and other sites gave very differing information when asked for more direct contact information regarding a higher office, beyond the seemingly inappropriate social media email given on the webpage. Would absolutely recommend you avoid with every ounce of energy you can muster. I am open to editing this review IF I can believe the business is no longer operating fraudulently. If operations are failing, let customers know, lies are the most unacceptable form of interaction from a business.

Gorgeous meal. The food was fantastic and the service on point. Very polite, calm atmosphere. Paneer Dupiaza was perfect and so was the rice, the onion bhaji, the naan. It was all very hot and perfectly cooked. Will be back.

Visited here last Saturday, table and cutlery was very clean. We ordered an all day breakfast and the special board Shepherds pie and 2 cups of tea . All day breakfast was nice and hot but the bread and butter turned out to be bread and margarine, the Shepherds pie and veg was only luke warm. With the tea I had to ask for another tea bag for one of the cups as it was milky with a very light brown colour to it ( I like strong tea). Tea was reasonably priced if it comes out stronger at £1.50 a cup. The 2 meals brought the price to almost £27 . I will admit both meals had good quality food on both plates and the flavours were good, but the Shepherds pie needed heating up more. Service was good and all staff we encountered were friendly and efficient

Absolutely fantastic food and great service, the best place to eat by far in Saffron Walden. Highly recommend. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Tonight I ordered a half pounder with cheese and bacon as I hadn't eaten all day, the burger was OK, but charging someone .80p for a squirt of burger sauce is criminal.

Was struggling to find somewhere to eat lunch that wasn’t a coffee shop as we were leaving we drove past this restaurant and pulled over to go in and we was not disappointed. We went for the set lunch as we had a pre-booked dinner in the evening great choices and the meal sizes were more than enough waiter was amazing and looked after us from start to finish. Food was cooked fresh and an amazing quality and standard. Coffee to finish was also amazing if we are ever this way again we would definitely return. Thank you for looking after us and making our lunch very special .

Lovely cosy pint in front of the lovely open fire in this community run pub. Not a Saffron Walden local but will definitely be back to try the lovely garden/outdoor area when it warms up!

This has been taken over by new people, they have kept the menu the same, with a few additions. It always used to be spotless in here, don’t know if it was just a bad day when we visited but it was really messy. Dirty plates and cups everywhere and no sign of tables being cleared. The fridge that has all the sandwich fillings in was barely full, and what was in there looked old and dry. The guy took our order, and there was someone else waiting for their order too. It took a long time for the first order to come out and ours took about half an hour for three takeout sandwiches. They were very slow, despite not being at all busy. The food was fine, but I don’t think I’ll eat from there again if it’s as dirty as last time. I’ll just go to the chippy a few doors down!

The food was very delicious and fresh and the costumer service was excellent mainly the owner Mahesh look after me and my friend Mahesh is such a gentleman.
