Deja Vu Sandwich Bar, Saffron Walden in Uttlesford

This has been taken over by new people, they have kept the menu the same, with a few additions. It always used to be spotless in here, don’t know if it was just a bad day when we visited but it was really messy. Dirty plates and cups everywhere and no sign of tables being cleared. The fridge that has all the sandwich fillings in was barely full, and what was in there looked old and dry. The guy took our order, and there was someone else waiting for their order too. It took a long time for the first order to come out and ours took about half an hour for three takeout sandwiches. They were very slow, despite not being at all busy. The food was fine, but I don’t think I’ll eat from there again if it’s as dirty as last time. I’ll just go to the chippy a few doors down!

super quick service, great food! my tuna baguette was lovely! friendly staff. nice quiet area of the town with a handy bus stop nearby.

I go here on a daily basis, I was interested in what kind of reviews the sandwich bar have got and i have to say that I am surprised by a few. In my personal expirence the customer service has never been less than fantastic in the shop. Im always greated by happy faces and good vibes! In respect to the food, i believe it is top notch! To be fair there has been one occasion the baguette was a little stale however with me going there everyday for the past 3/4 months, i think it is more than expected to have one of those days. Really happy with the service/food they provide and will carry on using on a daily basis for sure!

I came here with my boyfriend for a quick bite. The baguettes are lovely and the staff fill them up well. The caramel latte I had was lovely too. Staff polite. I will be returning again for lunch. PS good food choice

My first visit and my first review ! Will defo be back again. The Burrito Menu is so cool as you can tailor it how you want it ! I had guacamole and loads of cheese and jalapeños and sour cream ! The coffee is good as well and cheap !! Highly recommend 😀

I came across this sandwich Bar when I was in Saffron Walden, what a pity it’s hidden away on Rowntree Way. I had an amazing New York Panini which was delicious and went back the next day as they said they were launching a Burritto menu. It didn’t disappoint, I had the smoky pulled beef burrito which was made in front of me by a lovely and very polite member of staff. I sat it and enjoyed it with a latte. Highly recommend you check these guys out. Fantastic 👍

My friends and I thought we’d try out the new burritos and OMG! Delicious!! I’m a veggie so I tried the breakfast scrambled egg with guacamole beans etc. Yummy! Just the right amount to fill you up. Definitely be back!

I pop in now and again for a snack and always found the staff very friendly and professional the food is also very good and well prepared and presented

Visited here as it had been recommended by a friend who said how nice the food was, however the reality was far from nice. Walked in to hear swearing and shouting from the back. Disgusting language to hear in a family orientated restaurant. I then had to wait ages to actually be served, even though two people walked out the front, both who ignored me (my friend actually said that one was the owner) Ordered my food eventually and was sadly disappointed in what I had. The baguette I had was stale and the tuna mayonnaise was tasteless. My friends bread was hard and crusty and her egg mayo filling had a weird taste. We commented to the young girl but she seemed totally disinterested and just got a grunt from her. We paid and left. It seems that there is no care or love going into the food there and won't be returning anytime soon.

Sandwiches etc are pretty good but a milkshake I had was tasteless and like water and, I felt, over priced. That was a few years back and I haven't been in since to buy anything myself but I've had stuff brought for me which was nice enough

I have used this sandwich bar, a fair few times in the past. Each time i used to be greeted with excellent customer service and the sandwiches or jacket potatoes used to be a lovely afternoon lunch. However, I recently popped in the other day and as i opened the door, there were staff using foul language and screaming at the top of their lungs. i feel this is no way to walk into a cafe. There seems to be different staff, the young chap seems to of gone who always used to be so friendly and polite; which is what i expect going into anywhere, not that obscene behaviour by adult ladies. i ordered my food, while the lady simply grunted as if she couldn't even be bothered to be there. However, the sandwich i had, which was lovely, still did not make up for the atmosphere in this shop. I've never felt so unwelcomed. When it came to paying, I was then short changed, when i told the lady she had short changed me. She started having a go as if it was my fault!! Totally unacceptable. I shall not be returning to Dejavu Sandwich Bar as i feel the standards have dropped considerably!! What has happened to this once warm, welcoming cafe? Dissapointed

I first went here recently for lunch due to a recommendation from a friend. The menu and everything looked good and there was a lot of choice. After looking at the menu for good 2-3 minutes there was no sign of anyone working. On the desk there is a bell to ring to get staff, so i rung the bell to be greeted by a shocking piece of customer service. The lady working barked at me "Im serving someone else at the moment" and then wondered off. I was in two minds whether to walk out of the shop then and there.However i decided to give the food a chance and was very impressed. Im just amazing with all the commercial and large businesses being opened in and around the town that these small businesses think they can get away with such terrible customer service. You would have thought that they would put in the extra effort to ensure that your experience was memorable and that customers would come back. Overall food and menu is good, customer service leaves a lot to be desired...

I am a regular visitor to déjà Vu - lovely choice of fillings and enjoyed all of them. And as for the chocolate milkshake... Divine!

Nuestra oficina han sido pedir nuestro viernes Butties de deja Vú ya desde hace tiempo. Nunca tuvimos un problema independientemente de la magnitud de la orden. Michelle nunca nos defraudó. Siempre educado y profesional. Después de un lasp unos meses encontramos que Michelle ha dejado el negocio, y que el nivel ha bajado!

Me gusta este estilo cafetería, pero lástima pues no estoy seguro si me gusta que es local o lástima pues es buena calidad? ¿que si era en la ciudad? ¿me lo que de costa o el moka? no no muy servicial. Algunas cosas no molestará a mí, en primer lugar nunca abierto, cierra a las 3 que es muy evitará, en segundo lugar, tenía un 3 estrellas de higiene, siendo un chef que sé todo sobre estos y, para ser honesto no estoy seguro cómo consiguieron una clasificación tan baja? Espero que su wasent hacer con almacenamiento o comida, o la limpieza, espero que la documentación son condescendientes. En ambos casos no es muy reasuring. Se debe abrir más tiempo sin duda y hacer una gran effott que 3 a un 5 estrellas. Me gusta el personal, sin embargo, son realmente agradable, servicial y amable, que supongo que eso importaint demasiado. En general podría ser mejor, pero no está mal.

déjá vu es un excelente bar de sándwich en Saffron Walden. Soy un visitante regular cuando trabajando desde casa.

Everything is freshly made to order. Baguettes, wraps, paninis and sandwiches, with a extensive range of fillings.Most tastes are catered for with meat, fish and veggie options.A bit off the beaten track, but worth the visit.
