The best restaurants in Thurrock East of England

We went to the White Lion for my husbands 70th birthday. There was 27of us for Sunday lunch, what a brilliant afternoon we had. The atmosphere was wonderful the food was amazing everyone raved about Jennie’s roast potatoes said they were the best they had eaten. Thank you to everyone that made our afternoon a memorable one.

Very good service. I’m vegan and I bought a veggie Mac and cheese meal by mistake (should’ve worn my glasses!) Even though this was totally my fault, the manager let me exchange it for something else, which she didn’t have to do. Thank you to her!

Went here on my lunch break today, the guy serving me was very polite and helpful and helped me pick an item based on my dietary requirements. My burger was fresh, the place was clean and my food was prepped quickly. 10/10 experience would recommend 👍

Very unimpressed. The crust was like paper and cold when it arrived. Won't go back. Was crispy and tasted like a cheap frozen pizza.

Booked for a Saturday night and was bit surprised to find that the restaurant was empty. Should have been a red flag but, hey ho.. Ordered from a menu that we thought we would know what was what. Tried a couple of 'special' items that were anything but special. All deep fried, frozen stuff. Unfortunately the waitress didn't speak good English and was no use at all. She was also a bit abrupt and really shouldn't be working in a job she doesn't like. Had to go to the bar for another round of drinks (she forgot to order our drinks). Another thing is they need to turn the heating up! All in All the worst eating out experience for years. they need to sort out this place a bit sharpish. Couple of half decent dishes, hence two blobs MadDog says 'Try somewhere else'

How is it acceptable or even possible that ikea are serving such low quality food with poor levels of customer service. This type of food reminded me of a primary school in a deprived area. Can't even say its low quality reflects the price because the price is way to high in comparison to the quality. Food was cold, dry considering it was supposed to be a hot meal. Only thing I enjoyed was the coffee only because it was hot!! Never ever again.

Knew this was under new management so thought we’d give it a go. Pork chops, fish and pork ribs were delicious. Portions were plenty to feed even a hungry big man!! Well done, we’ll be back. Waiter was lovely but didn’t get his name :-)

Hygiene is extremely poor. Flies all over. Food was served directly on dirty tray. I think health and safety should visit dinning area at check out area ASAP.

Truly bloody awful. Have to order via a stupid app that doesn’t work. Place was filthy and the food was no better. I would avoid this place like the be plague
