Food has gone up in price majorly which is ridiculous! I got sweet and sour chicken and crackers and it came to £9 chicken was tough and couldn’t even cut through it so definitely will not be going back.

Not always the best reviews but every time I eat here its been bang on and decent price, will be ordering tonight 👍

Long time customer. Food taste seems to have gone down significantly since last order. Purchased on Xmas eve, great service and wait time despite busy period however I was massively disappointed with the taste of the food. Chicken in special fried rice was really dry, rice had an off/ bitter taste. This dish was cooked in soy sauce and chilli oil, however it was not spicy or flavourful. The king prawns and veg dish also had an off taste and was oily.

Atmosphere was nice, busy and a good service. First time I tried this takeaway, food however was of a low quality and bland. Over priced and poor quality, won’t be returning

Got 2 chilli oil and chicken balls. Every bite took of my food with the chilli oil added was stone after stone. Terrible terrible, I have lost total faith in Lotus Chafford. Yuk!

Nothing special about their special fried rice. Was just plain boiled rice with a dash of mixed vegetables . Completely lacked flavour. The sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style was overly dry, crispy and hard to eat. All in all a bad takeout experience on a bank holiday weekend.

Food quality has gone down the hill. Prices gone up but portions are much smaller. It used to be quite compact on the container but now it's loose Our last crackers had to be thrown away because they were yellow. It was either cooked in old oil or maybe just overcooked. I was very disappointed because that's my favourite. Please bring back the high standards you used to have otherwise you'll be loosing customers

Just had a chinese asked for no garlic and it was amazing food and quantity really good and reasonably priced Fantastic

One of the best Chinese takeaway in the area. The only down side is they don’t do delivery. My advice would be order it on the phone first and once you get there the food would be ready.

This is a fabulous takeaway, very conveniently located in a small shopping complex. There is plenty of adjacent parking. My favourite dish is the Szechuan Chicken which is spiced up with additional 🌶s and chilli oil, superb. Their prawn crackers are excellent too with no residual old oil smells and are not greasy when picked up. My family also have Tofu and noodles dishes that they throughly enjoy. Recommended 👌

Just had food from this dump again. Order wrong and food honestly inedible. How do you mess up food so badly. I don't have words for how awful this place is. Avoid avoid avoid. Chinese New Year take away and it was vile. All just over-fried junk. Place was disgusting inside, filthy in the cooking area, staff were ignorant and the whole place had the most downbeat awful dirty atmosphere. We order wide range of stuff for 4 adults and all of it was just bland no taste greasy junk. Place used to be decent now it is a dive in my opinion. We are not fussy eaters but this was a new low.

It used to be one of my favorite chinese takeaway restaurant around grays, the food has gone downhill over the years and I've just wasted my money today because it ended up in the bin. The taste was horrible...

honestly, it's not a bad take away. it's just a little dirty and the floor has a coating of grease

Absolutely awful Chinese, vile !!! Asked for salt chili chicken and there was no chilli twice I ordered and both times wrong! Had one mouthful of the rice and sweet and sour and had to put in the bin!! Not nice at all really gone down hill in there!

I used to be a regular here. Staff were friendly and as I was a regular was usually honoured with free prawn crackers. However, seems like there has been a change of hands in recent months. The receptionist is quite rude, never smiles and even when I asked if it had changed management she denied it. Food has definitely changed too, can tell it is poor quality ingredients and watered down

Worse Chinese ever - weird rice, stale chips and cold curry sauce - vile - do not use

This place has amazing food. Some of the best I’ve tasted in chafford hundred. Their their receptionist for ordering food is absolutely disgusting. He’s rude and has the most annoying attitude. I’d suggest firing him because he’ll probably be the downfall of this business

Used this place a few times in the past 6 months but unfortunately i cannot rate it higher than a 3. The sauces are average and the rice doesnt seem like its fried. Chips are ok but the noodles can be very hit and miss, sometimes slimy, tasteless and undercooked. The chicken balls were decent. Other places are cheaper and tastier though so its not likely i would return

I'm a big fan of this takeaway. We have been using it for years and it never disappoints. It's exactly what you would expect from a decent Chinese takeaway and the portions are pretty good

We where trying lotus again after long break. Few years back food was amazing unfortunately after management change whole place went downhill. Food not tasty at all. Shredded beef had so much vinegar you couldn't tast what you where eating. Chicken noodle soup tasted like water. :( Big disappointment

Order from here most weeks as a family. The past couple of weeks it has been very dry and tasteless. Something has changed and we are thoroughly disappointed. With great regret we will be changing our local Chinese.

I had ordered 6 dishes off there menu, when asking how long this would be, they stated 15mins for collection!!!!! That was shocking to me, as this did not seem to be cooked from fresh, when going home and plated My food which was only 4mins away from restaurant the food was cold, which then made me think that it must of been microwaved, which the plastic container was hot but the food inside cold as fridge, which I find unacceptable, I guess if you order fried food I.e chicken balls they would have to cook it fresh, after I reheaded it in my own microwave the taste was not all that.i hope they read this review and work on making sure all food is hot through out.i don't know if I would order again..

First time ordering from here for a lockdown Valentine’s meal and was not disappointed at all. The food was delicious, fresh with generous portions and definitely better than other Chinese takeaways I’ve tried in the area. Would recommend and order from here again.

Best Chinese take away around, We've been going there for about 10 years and my entire family is hooked. Very efficient and friendly staff too.

Awful service say a time then keep you waiting even longer. Duck and chicken balls burnt has really bad stomach next day. Been there many times will never go again.

Bad food incomplete order never again

I came 2 this place n ordered my food, 1st of all the duck was so dry n tasteless, the cucumber n spring onions were not fresh at all!!!! The sesame prawn toast was burnt n disgusting, it’s not the first time I’ve had food like this, but I’ve kept telling them about the food I’ve receiving is not as good as it was b4!!! Don’t get me wrong the staff r brilliant but the unfortunately the food ain’t anymore. Enough is enough n I will not b going ere again.

Lovvvee it! Spring roll to the face. We live in chaffy and drive to the lotus as we absolutely love it. Our food is always ready when we get there and the staff are so lovely! Would recommend to anyone in the area. Just wish they were 24/7.

I ordered a takeaway from Lotus 6 months ago. When it arrived we found a dead fly in one of the dishes. Called to complain and they honoured a 20% off our next order. When calling a couple of months after to make an order, they refused the 20% off, were extremely rude and said they had no record of it. Disgusting customer service, disgraceful attitude by the manager!!

Always good and tasty even when I lived across Dartford bridge I'd come here because not all Chinese are the same...love this place.. And people moaning they missed things off the order,when you pick it up they go through the list of what you've ordered plus they always repeat back on the phone

First time on Christmas eve which was insanely busy. But I have friends that travel from nearby towns for this one. My meal was really delicious and came with a complementary Christmas card and bag of prawn crackers. :-) will visit again.

Food is very nice in here ... the chicken in Peper corn salt is banging highly recommended

Great and fast service but taste wise was very disappointing; ordered 5 different mains plus starters around £40 but food has no taste at all. Very close and handy from my house but preffer to order from Grays loads better. Feel bad for them cause the location is very clean and organized but taste of food needs to be improved. 😒

Great takeaway in Chafford, so many dishes. Great starters, love the duck. And always quick turnaround.

not doesn't compare to places like Chinatown but for chafford hundred, they have good standard their salt and paper chicken wings are a lot better than others around Chafford. really cool seeing the cooks make the food/

An insult to Chinese food. Last two times they missed stuff out of the order or gave us the wrong thing. The prawn toast was cold and fatty. There has never been a duck out of water that was so dry. They have a pretty captive market and so continue, but the food is awful.

hi google user, sorry you had a bad food experience with us. however we dont use curry powder, we use a spicy curry paste. And we dont claim to have the exact taste of food to where you have travelled but we do try. we hope you will give us another try to get it right for you. Lotus
