Costa Coffee in Thurrock

Quick service, helpful and friendly baristas. Literally the nicest three staff serving I have ever met at a Costa. Friendly, helpful, suggested options beyond what is normally on the menu and looked so happy to be doing their jobs. Thank you for making me and my daughter smile!

Not only did they have two serving with waiting time of 20 mins, the lady finally came to serve, missed me and served the lady behind. She then was passed off because they lady told her it was my order first. I was given the coffee said thanks and got shouted at as it was the law I had a lid. I said it's fine I am sitting hear. I then got shouted at I was rude, then when I said she was , told to shut my mouth. Plenty of other coffee shops, with better service, nicer staff and better coffee

The staff would not except costa own point for a coffee , telling me the system is down but all the tills are working. They could see the points on my phone but still refuse to take them

You need to change the times that you’re open on Google. It says you open at 8 am on Monday but when you get to the shop it says 11.

This is probably the most friendly and efficient Costa I have ever been in. Staff are great! Service is great and the coffee is too.

Never been disappointed with Costa coffee, there seasonals are especially to be enjoyed. Now with M&S food to be had - what’s not to love.

It was okay, Hot chocolate was above average and was enjoyable, White Coffee a bit too strong and tasted like dishwater, But overall not too bad would come again, just not order a white coffee.

When we walked in to the Costa a rude employee by the name of Tracey rudely shouted “you can’t just sit anywhere wait to be seated” even though the place was empty can’t believe the audacity to shout at your customers when it’s the first time in there ridiculous

We went into costa a few days ago and ordered coffee / cakes , nowhere to sit . No one knew what was going on , people were asking for there money back as it’s a coffee shop and we couldn’t sit. The tables were not allowed to be separated ..god knows why. But when we decided to leave we were allowed to separate the tables...nightmare.

Good Morning I am a very lucky lady to have a friend whom is special needs and she is amazing. Your absolutely she's loud, full on but she is amazing so you can imagine my surprise when the Father, took his two children to Costa's at Lakeside to end up having the most humilating and disgusting treatment on the morning of Sunday 01st Mar 2020. My friend asked a member of staff (female) if she had a hoover to which the female member of staff stared and ignored her question. Again she asked to again no reply. After several obvious stares and not one that were pleasant to receive the farther removed her away to save her from further distress. When the drinks arrived another grunt was received along with some glares. My friend suffered alot of distress as she replays her imagines back after what happens in her everyday life. Well thank you knidly I will be boycotting this cafe from now on. If this is your treatment towards my friends you can stay where you are and I will remove my business from you. In addition to that I guess certain members of staff will only pay any of us back by spitting in our drinks. My friend may act different doesnt mean she should be completely ignored of kindness.

Nice coffee. Nice friendly staff and atmosphere too. Nice and peaceful early in the morning..thoroughly relaxing too.

A nice, friendly Costa and a good place for a journey breaking coffee. Thurrock Services would have benefited from a bit of heating on the cold day we visited, but I doubt if Costa are responsible for this.

Quick lunch whilst visiting the retail park. Coffee and toasted sandwiches were the usual Costa standard, The toilet was dirty and needed good clean!

We love this Costa! My boyfriend and I have been to this branch a few times and we really enjoy it here. We’re both dairy free and it’s nice to have a few different milk options. The staff are always so friendly and polite here. It’s a lovely atmosphere, very clean and tidy (including the toilets).

I use this Costa once or twice a week, and felt the need to report my appreciation. The staff are always attentive, and service is quick. Even when there is a bit of a queue, they deal with it rapidly. There is clearly a team ethic going on. Thank you and keep up the good work! We customers do notice...…...

Great place to stop close to the M25. Very friendly helpful staff. Good parking and plenty of room to sit. Will go again

Busy busy busy Lakeside Xmas shopping trip and a welcome coffee break in this Costa. Served quickly and a nice sit down and chill for a while. Clean, neat and tidy. Enjoy

Staff were friendly and working very hard. Latte was hot and served in my reusable cup. Cup of tea for my hubby was also hot and they were able to offer an alternative to milk.

We all ate paninis , which were well cooked and well presented. Staff very pleasant and efficient....excellent coffee. Only complaint was that the toilets were not very clean and the hand dryer was not working. * * there was a note saying that is was out of order.The toilets may , of course, been left in disarray by customers....

Standard costa coffee really nothing amazing but fine! Good coffee, clean and tidy. Very busy but good service

We had a relaxing afternoon coffee . Good healthy options. Options for vegans and vegetarians. Staff very friendly. Toilets cleaned regularly. Easy parking. Our favourite coffee house.

It was good to stop here for an afternoon pick-me-upper into a 2.5 hour drive. Though busy, service was quick. Soya milk is available.

Great to be back, lovely memories of my girlfriend and I having lunch/coffee dates in our early dating around 15 years ago.

Now I get that it's a costa and service is never going to blow you away but here the staff are so slow! The man that served me was faffing around in front of me for 5 mins no exaggeration before asking me what I wanted and the barista was appalling. If it was busy I would understand but there were barely 8 people in here. It took 10 mins for my coffee! My food was ready well before that. Avoid

Myself & a friend visited Lakeside & needed a drink break. Service was quick & drinks/cakes were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Hit and miss with Costa coffee, not the best coffee in the world, but I've drunk enough of it :) Clocolate twists are one of my favourite pastries and the chocolate chip muffins too.

We only stopped for coffee on this occasion, but up to usual standard. Busy but staff were efficient and service was good. The area was clean despite being busy.

I am from Australia and was told that Costa does the best coffee, well take it from me, they don't. All I could taste was milk, not impressed at all even after I ask for an extra shot of coffee in my latte

Came in today after a busy day at work. The lady who served us was miserable. Looked like she'd rather be anywhere else but behind that counter. It didn't matter how polite we were she didn't even crack a smile. Tried to make conversation but...

Great place to stop for a business lunch when in Dartford. Very easy to get to from the M25/QEII Bridge. Staff were very helpful, and service was super quick.

This Costa is on a busy retail park with no other coffee house or food outlet nearby so they should be able to deal with high volumes of people, but it fails every time.The staff don't care and are lack lustre.The queue is painful to wait in and can take (no exaggerations) 20 minutes plus to wait until you get to the till.My husband went into 2 shops before I arrived at the top of the queue!!Coffee and cakes are nice but they really need to pep up staff as no-one wants to wait an age for a drink.

Popped in for a coffee and bite to eat whilst shopping. The coffee as always in Costa was very good. The wrap was OK but it was very light on the filling. The restaurant was a bit messy with plenty of tables awaiting clearing. The toilets left a lot to be desired they required a good clean.

Early Tuesday 1st November I arrived at Lakeside to collect an order from a nearby shop which wasn't open yet. Costa café had only a few customers when I entered. Staff were nice & polite. My hot chocolate & Toasted Tea cake was lovely. I have been here before and had similar experience

Visited around 4-4.30pm on Sat 29.10.2016 with my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons. We queued for at least 10 minutes, service was very slow. A middle aged lady asked my daughter what she wanted and was asked very rudely small or medium! I ordered a cappuccino and was asked very rudely small or medium! We stood there another five minutes only to find the lady had disappeared? A young man then took over the order but hadn't a clue what the order was, so we had re- order again. Whilst our order was being made a young girl assistant turned to the other female assistant don't worry about Sasha it's her not you. The young girl who had a face slight a bull dog chewing a wasp then proceeded to slam the milk carton down on the counter which splashed milk all over my daughters sleeve of her jumper!! Unbelievable! We got our order and sat down but had to clear the table first, all the tables were in a disgusting state. My grandson then asked me to take him to the toilet, there is only one toilet for females as well as males. On entering the toilet it stank, toilet roll on the floor and the toilet in a disgusting state, I will not elaborate on here, but you can imagine! This whole shop needs environmental health to visit and see what a state it is in. Will not visit again! Stay away!

I asked for one tea a large coffee and two cakes the service at the till was fine the staff member was busy and was very sorry for the wait the other staff member making the drinks was rude and not very pleasant at all "What drinks are you aving" and then they was shoved in front of me no smile no nothing

The Service was great.Restaurant was clean.Staff friendly(we already knew the Manager from another Restaurant of Costas).Toilets were clean.

Can only hope the service improves! The staff a pleasant enough, but slow & a little clueless. Takes ages to get ur order. I'll keep visiting though as it's the best coffee in Grays.

It's a costa so not much to say other than the coffee remains superior to all chain competitors. Not much of a view but a happy retreat from shopping !

Popped in for a coffee while waiting for my mot to be done.Very big coffee shop with plenty of seating. Tables were cleaned straight away as customers left so there was never mess laying about.Staff excellent and attentive Enjoyed my coffeeWill be back

This is easy to locate and provides a very comfortable place to rest for a few minutes when you are shopping. You will find all the usual coffees and snacks and a friendly staff willing to assist you.

Visited Costa on our trip to lakeside.Lovely coffee and muffins.I been served with such a nice young guy.Only problem was-toilet!Such a busy place with a lot of people and only one toilet!People standing outside and wait!Even staff using this toilet.

Ideal place to visit whilst shopping, quite a large shop so therefore can cater for a fair few people. Staff very helpful... Cater for gluten free diet

When we recently visited Lakeside retail park, the first thing we did after we parked the car was to go to Costa coffee for a nice cup of coffee & one of their delicious cakes. They always make a great cup of coffee & have good snacks as well all at reasonable prices.

Fairly busy Saturday lunch but ordering two coffees to drink in with some food were served in cups but no saucers as we were told they were in the dishwasher! Whatever next!

Popped in for a coffee and granola bar. I was greeted with just lemon cake and two other choices. .neither looking appetising. Although no queue. . I had some wait and wasn't happy being passed a skinny coffee when I had stood and watched her put full fat milk when I pointed this out. . I was passed another. .no saucers and no apology. Won't be stopping here again or if I had to would certainly be bypassing Costa.

This is a very good Costa, not too busy as everyone seems to be in the food court. The selection was excellent, plenty of choice and great Coffee. Price is as you expect from Costa. Worth a stop!

I came here as i was waiting for a taxi cab to come and pick me up and i can honestly tell you that by the time that i ordered my drink and hot sandwich my cab which had come from 25 mins away arrived. In my opinion, it was the biggest waste of £8 ever. I can't review the food/drinks as i never had a chance to actually have it!

4pm. Customers clearing their own tables. Filthy trays and floors, flies buzzing about, jar on the counter with choc flakes that have use by 9 days ago. Sorry - can't recommend this branch today. Is it always like this?

We love Costa and have used them for over 7 years now. We cannot fault them here. Even at busy times they get things right. Coffee is great and that's all needed to be said...

Nice size Costa, right next to the big stores, such as PC World, Argos, The Range etc. The food is good as well as the service. The Price is as you expect from Costa. Nice feel for this Costa.

This a very friendly place to take a rest and have cup of coffee the staff look after you here specially towards disable wheelchairs users we go there 3 times a week

Stopped off for a coffee as a break from shopping. Wonderful sunny afternoon, sat outside could have been anywhere in the world. Service was promp and efficient.
