Baracuda Upminster in Thurrock

Food is beautiful and the new owners are so welcoming and helpful. I really do recommend this. We have done takeaway, but will definitely eat in when we get a chance as such a nice and fun atmosphere.

Got a takeaway from barracuda it’s new owners …they are so friendly in there and really good with the kids always having a laugh and a joke . The food is banging !!! The chips are so good proper chips not had them like that in yrs and the curry sauce is divine not lumpy smooth

Under new ownership, but nothing has changed. Sausage tepid, Regular chips is a very small portion. Pie cold. It won’t be around for too long. The Codfather by far the best in Upminster.

W have been coming here since it re opened this year . We have a 25 mile round trip to visit but it is soooo worth it . Tonight we had Haddock , cod and steak and kidney pudding . A beautiful mixed salad and mushy peas . Everything was perfect . Amazing fish ( not watery and greasy like some other places) the staff are all fantastic, friendly and ready to chat . If you haven’t tried it . Give it a go , I’m sure you won’t be disappointed .

Incredibly warm service, excellent food. The perfect break before catching the train. Loved the burger and the ribs! The fresh salads are also recommended.

So pleased to find them open on bank holiday Monday evening. Used to go regularly under previous management and glad it’s still good. I had the most lovely grilled haddock perfectly cooked. Look forward to future visits.

.Wanted chips to take away I paid for them and waited 10min staring at cooked chips while 4 chefs waited for fish to cook! I then couldn’t wait any longer so had to rush out for my train without a refund.

The 4 of us shared batered cod, 2x large chips, cod bites, chicken nuggets and tartar sauce and curry sauce. Everything was fresh, delicious and plenty off. The tartar sauce was the best I have ever eaten. Service was super fast. Best fish&chips around!

£9.50 for a little bit of cod. The told the server I asked for a regular cos. The said that this size was their regular. Large chips £4.80. Chips portion size for a large chips should be the size of regular. Two cod, one large chips £23.80. A rip off. How I miss my old fish shop Sunshine in Elm Park.

Asked for box instead of a packet for a portion of chips and got charged 45p for the box. Very poor wont be going back - had a lunch in the week before and it was overpriced !

Second time going here, and again slow service, don’t mind so much waiting for the food if it’s good and the fish and chips were. Had a roll which was sour dough,but not advertised as that , disappointing Asked for butter waited for 5 mins then had to ask again, not busy in there either. Smells of drains in the restaurant area . Overall a bit to relaxed attitude to customer service.

I have to say that the cod and chips that we had today was EXCELLENT! Beautiful crisp batter and tasty fish and chips.

We are very disappointed yet again - this is the third time in about six weeks that we have ate in the restaurant early on a Friday evening with no bread rolls available. We enjoy bread with our fish and chips as this is traditional. To have no bread every time is just not acceptable. If they cannot purchase rolls, how about a loaf of bread which stretched much further. We expect more from a fairly expensive fish and chip shop in upminster.

The quality of the eat in is by far superior to the take away. On this visit our take away cod and chips was extremely dry and tasteless. It is very disappointing when we know it can be so much better.

No less than 27 portions of chips on the house! We were really humbled and grateful for the generosity and cannot thank you enough. The girls said the chips were delicious, hot and crunchy! Just how chips should be! Thanks once again, and we look forward to visiting you with our families!

Most of the time sitting in is superior to the take away. Unfortunately I was disappointed as there was very Little Rock in the batter. The waiter gave us £4 off the bill. Disappointed.

A huge thank you to this fab establishment! We were let down last minute by our caterers and Barracuda had no problem supplying us with 40 very hot fish and chips beautifully boxed with pickles all cut and supplied with serviettes and forks. Also bottles of vinegar and salt packets supplied on time as requested! All of our guests commented on the quality of the food. A huge thank you 🙏 we would highly recommend. Faultless.

A BIG Thank You to Barracuda’s in Upminster for their generosity tonight when 2nd Cranham cubs all had chips to take away. We all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious fresh hot chips and had 20 full happy bellies.

Popped in as couldn’t be bothered to cook and always like this place. We had a couple of battered sausages, cod, large chips and couldn’t fault it.
