What a refreshing change. We called in late afternoon for a quick bite to eat. Meet by a friendly member of staff and seated. Sitting people watching our drinks arrived very shortly after we were seated. After a short while we both commented to each other on how well the restaurant was organised and run. Staff were so polite and efficient. Tables were cleared and cleaned as soon as the customers had left. We have eaten out a few times recently over the summer and this Wimpy had the best and friendliest staff team we have seen in a very long time. Credit where credit is due. Take note wimpy your staff make your business . Thank you to a great team we will be back soon.

We have been here on more than one occasion and the food was good, but if you are gluten intolerant then you will not be able to get cake every week, which is very hit and miss. We also noted that there was an incorrect sign on one of the cakes. Given recent events, I think that ingredient information and staff knowledge is paramount. Luckily, we would not die eating something with an allergen, but would be quite ill. Others would not be so fortunate ! Maybe more staff training is needed on allergies and either cater to all, every week or not at all.

We ate here today and I can honestly say it was a horrible meal. I had a prawn baguette, it tasted very strange and I could not eat all of it, the coleslaw tasted heavily of onion ! The chips were mediocre. The toilets were outside and pretty dire. I told the waitress about the prawns but it fell on deaf ears.

After waiting a long time for the food mine came out cold, a friends rice was cold, chips were cold. I mentioned to the waiter about my food, he took it back to the kitchen, it arrived after being put in the microwave the dish had yoghurt on so it kurdled. Waiter did apologise and said they were stressed as they were busy. No excuse!! Definatly wouldn't return for a second visit.

Didn’t know this place existed but came across it on the riverside walk from Melton to Woodbridge. The (paper) cup of tea and tea cake I had were fine but what made it on a warm morning was being able to sit at the open windows and watch the bird life on the estuary using binoculars which were available for use by customers. What a lovely thing to do, I kept my eyes on a pair of noisy oystercatchers.

I’ve read some of the reviews and it seems that expectations have a lot to do with the comments. I know what to expect and I like it. If you want slick – don’t go. If you want real - then go. If you want a place where people go because they know each other – then go. I’ve had some good conversations about local events and places with the lady and gentleman who run it. Food and drink are fine – it might not suit everyone to see your breakfast cooked in view. Suits me fine.

We visited for a quick lunch for four after browsing the high street - we went and sat outside after being unsure whether to seat ourselves or whether we would be shown to a table; due to no signage and not being greeted at the door. We were given menus and listed off numerous items that weren’t available but ordered other items of the menu instead. However, a few minutes later the waitress came back to inform one of us that they also didn’t have the waffles we had ordered. Another 5 minutes past when the same girl came back to say they had no croque monsieur - we reordered both of these items and changed them. After 15 minutes we were given our drinks on a blistering day with no ice - we asked for ice. Given such a lovely day we had decided to sit outside, conveniently this was next to a window which separated us and the bar/kitchen area. However, the window to the bar was open so we could hear the staff openly discussing having no ice and having to go across the road to buy some - however they did not inform us, so were left sat there to the point we had to go back inside and re-ask. When the food arrived, it came in increments of 5 minutes, so all my friends had begun eating and I was still waiting on the bruschetta. When it finally arrived, it looked deceivingly appetising, however upon further inspection this was not the case. The toasted bread was soaked in balsamic vinegar to the point you could ring it out with a fork (almost like a sponge). It had completely lost its crunch and was incredibly acidic and soggy. I asked to change my bread as it was inedible - instead of giving me new toasted bread I was instead given 4 slices of white bread. Which isn’t exactly rectifying a valid complaint. By this time everyone else finished their meals, I had decided to leave the stale bread, and take it back into the waitress to reexplain why I wasn’t happy with it. I was greeted with a smirk, as she took it back to the kitchen, with the still window open! We could hear them impersonating us and mocking the complaint. We went and addressed the waitress for her unprofessional behaviour and rudeness to which all of the staff came out of the kitchen - to raise their voices and argue with us. We said we would pay for everything but the Bruschetta to which we were met with aggression, rudeness and an argument with multiple members of staff. A total lack of customer service, with a lack of care from all aspects. Would never return!

Ver disappointed. Two young girls on duty who were indifferent to our questions. We sat down and neither came to ask if we needed drinks before ordering. There was only one other family in the restaurant. Left without ordering. Have been before with better results but not happy with the lack of service.
