Only a 5k walk from the Felixstowe pier, along the seafront to this little gem. On a lovely sunny lunchtime we sat outside & watched the toing & froing of the Deben ferry while sampling the fish and chips.
Welcoming, friendly service. Not cheap but delicious & not to be missed if you’re visiting here.
Will recommend.
Excellent cafe, with quality food ,drink and service. The bacon and sausage brioche produced by Ben , was outstanding as was the service , cleanliness and ambience
Unplanned visit as our intended pub was unexpectedly shut and what a lucky find for us. The food was beautifully presented and cooked. My companions had soup, sausage roll, sandwich and hallumi with fries and salad. I had the lambs liver and onion with al dente cabbage, caramalised carrots and creamy mash - all meals were pronounced excellent. Congratulations to the pub team. (PS visited the ladies which were perfectly clean)
It's a lovely friendly pub and the nearest anyone has ever got to making Sunday roasts like my mum used to make .Congratulations .it will always be my go to pub when i'm in Leiston .
Amazing xx lovely staff and atmosphere and full vegan menu which was yummy! Restaurant was clean and beautifully presented. Fairly priced and so close to the beach.
NOW MAEVES TEAROOM. went with friends after being recommended. Coffee nice but very small cups and expensive. I ordered toastie with no coleslaw as I don’t eat dressings. Still came with something resembling coleslaw which my husband ate so I was left with just a toastie. No side salad or crisps or anything. Absolute rip off. SO EXPENSIVE Although tasty it wouldn’t have cost more than 50p to make. Friends then ordered cake (choice was poor so we didn’t have anything) and they both said it wasn’t pleasant. One said it was the worst Bakewell cake he’d ever had!!! We won’t be back!!!
Excellent Friday evening meal with friends. Team were very attentive, table was good and food was excellent. Nice to see the manager and head chef taking time out to check in with each table. I would thoroughly recommend
Had a reservation tonight for my birthday. Got there and restaurant is closed. Booked on the online booking system so it would have been easy to advise me my booking was cancelled. Really bad behaviour. Went up the road to the Grey Mare unannounced and luckily they could fit us in. Said we’d dodged a bullet as this restaurant does this all the time. So beware consumers. You are better off calling in on speck than booking ahead. 🙃

I had high hopes: it was a sunny lunchtime and we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff on arrival. Unfortunately, that was the high point.
There were four draft beers on the bar; none were available. We waited over 45 mins for the food. Unlike the descriptions it has not been smoked or barbecued. It was hugely disappointing and came with cheap mass catering sachets of sauce and some bad coleslaw. The waitress dropped two drinks on our table.
I would not recommend.
Constantly surprised at how bad it is. Bar staff 'I been here a week and not shown how to make tea''. Tables not cleared and filthy. Staff disillusioned (and leaving) , members disillusioned (and leaving) The owners should have stuck to running care homes. Back on the market within 5 years ?
The most gorgeous fish & chips ever!! All fresh and cooked to perfection! Long queue, but we know why now….its that popular! You don’t mind waiting for beautiful food like that! We will be back x
