Fynn Valley Cafe Terrace in Suffolk Coastal

We have been here on more than one occasion and the food was good, but if you are gluten intolerant then you will not be able to get cake every week, which is very hit and miss. We also noted that there was an incorrect sign on one of the cakes. Given recent events, I think that ingredient information and staff knowledge is paramount. Luckily, we would not die eating something with an allergen, but would be quite ill. Others would not be so fortunate ! Maybe more staff training is needed on allergies and either cater to all, every week or not at all.

Called in for brunch as we had not been before. The venue is clean, bright and welcoming. The young lad behind the bar, who I believe was called Charlie, was friendly, helpful and pointed us in the right direction with the Gluten Free choices. I have never seen so many gluten free cake choices anywhere that we have ever been, which was excellent for my partner. We enjoyed a nice meal in a nice atmosphere and would definitely return, although not every week, but for a treat, as it is rather pricey, but you cannot fault the quality.

The food was very nice and good portion. It was quick out put the service 🤦🏻‍♂️ slow took ages to clear up stood around talking. Had their coats on. Not good

What a pleasant surprise! Really nice aspect - airy and light. Relaxing atmosphere. Very nice coffee - Paddy and Scotts! I'm not that keen on golf - but I do like a nice relaxing cafe with excellent coffee and good service.

Food ok but service poor. Ordered lunch and drinks with friends, and Barman said he'd bring drinks over. Food eventually arrived, still no drinks. It wasn't busy, but apparently he'd forgotten, and it clearly didn't bother him.

Great coffee, but almost no vegan food available. Other than a crumble thing and crisps, there's nothing vegan.

My experience of the service, compassionate support and advice given by Charlie and the team was first class. The catering was generous and of a very high standard. The venue is beautiful and the grounds offer peace and tranquility. I could not have wished for a better setting for my late husband’s Celebration of Life following his funeral in May 2023.

Wow words can’t describe how fantastic fynn valley terrace was for our wedding. From start to finish the whole process was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, food was amazing and served to perfection, staff were the nicest, friendliest, hardworking and truly lovely people all round. We can’t put into words enough of how fantastic our day was. We would highly recommend to anyone thinking of getting married to take a look here, the setting is beautiful and they go above and beyond to provide you with the perfect day. It was my first time here since the Restaurant had enlarged, came many years ago for a meal, in a dark dismal bar area, but not now….wow …great first impression for me. I was here with my Son, we both chose the chicken tenders, shredded lettuce & barbecue sauce. This did not disappoint at all, delicious, the sauce was spot on, with a definite edge to it. We both chose to have chips and I was so full that my Son helped me out with part of the chicken and chips, really generous portions. We both had drinks too, I had a nice Sauvignon Blanc and my Son had a lager. It was so lovely to eat in the Terrace Cafe, light, bright, good views and great service, young guy who was professional, service with a smile, most welcoming. My Son then went onto the golf course and I sat in a fireside chair with a cup of coffee. We were not made to feel rushed at all with plenty of easy parking, there is something for everyone, obviously golfers most welcomed! I would certainly love to go back and would not hesitate in recommending this to anyone.

Lovely venue overlooking the golf course, great service from friendly staff, good food reasonably priced. Enjoyed ourselves.

Recently had our wedding reception here, the venue looked perfect and all the staff were incredibly friendly. Huge thank you to Charlie for helping us organise and ensuring that everything was prepared for our arrival would highly recommend the venue to any one.

We had our wedding here from our very first visit everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you Gemma our wedding organiser for making it so easy and smooth and for keeping us calm throughout the day. On the day all the staff were extremely helpful to standing outside with canapés between our photos, to serving our food/drinks and for joining in at the party. Thank you everyone for making our day even more special P.s. thank you Charlie for being our golf buggy taxi!

We had an awesome works Christmas Party Night with a welcome drink on arrival. The magician was very entertaining and the party games were fun! The food was very tasty and the staff very friendly. The room was decorated very festive and elegantly and added to a great atmosphere. The disco was good fun and finished off a really enjoyable evening. The booking process and food requests was very easy from start to finish, would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of planning a works Christmas party.

Scrambled egg was green in places and cooked breakfast was stone cold, when send back I waited 45 mins for a replacement only to find sausage raw. Manager was defensive. Couldn’t eat the food, left hungry and very disappointed. Still not received the promised call from the management

Visited to fynn valley for festive afternoon tea this afternoon absolutely delicious. Lots of food all beautiful presented and festively themed. We had bottomless mulled wine which completed our wonderful afternoon.

Came for the Sunday lunch they are running once a month. The roast comes with parsnips, cauliflower cheese and red cabbage as standard which is so unusual. The Yorkshire’s were sooo nice it was all super! The set menu was perfect. Would have liked a kids sandwich option or separate option but that’s the only thing we would have changed highly recommend! Service was fab too and Bex was lovely.

Popped into Fynn Valley with some friends for lunch yesterday. Had a brioche sausage bab. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a cafe with a view. Service was fast and friendly. Will be going back soon.

Met some friends for a catch-up. Good selection of beers on tap. The venue is only a year old and still in good condition. Spacious rooms and plenty of seating. Food was good, sausage rolls and panini sandwich’s are recommended, although the roasts going past...

I visited Fynn Valley for a Saturday Lunch with my sister. We had a warm welcome from our waitress Miranda as soon as we walked in. The building and the surroundings are stunning. I felt like I could spend all day in there, we were made to feel so comfortable and relaxed. The food well exceeded our expectations, not pretentious and the portions were so generous for such good prices. There is such a varied menu that it was difficult to choose. Their tapas menu is such a good idea! Every element of food we had was cooked so well. It is so hard to find decent food in Ipswich and they have obviously got themselves a top chef! What a delight this place is. From the service to the food and the decor - everything was top notch. I will definitely be recommending to everyone and returning again and again!!

I have visited the Cafe Terrace for coffee and decided to try the Sunday roast and I wasn't disappointed - it was delicious! The beef was cooked to perfection, lovely roast potatoes and a great selection of vegetables, with lovely gravy. We were so full that we couldn't manage a pudding. It is set in a beautiful setting - light, airy and plenty of large glass windows. I have also have been a guest in the private dining area and the cold buffet we had was amazing. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

Beautiful building, lovely welcoming staff and the most amazing food. Beautiful log burner for winter and outstanding views. We had the full English and it’s great quality and reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend to friends and family

I visited fynn valley yesterday , with a friend after it had being recommended to me by another friend who had enjoyed a delicious meal with friends the week before. Well all I can say is we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely wonderful as was the service. Our smiley waitress couldn’t do enough to help us. We will definitely be back.

Brilliant family friendly lunch had at fynn valley on Saturday 5th of October. What a beautiful setting, they have colouring for the children to do at the tables and alternatively they have games for them to play outside.

We have visited Fynn Valley lodges for 5 years & thought that we would try out the new Terrace Cafe, a lovely new building, we had a superb hot chocolate whilst waiting to get the keys to the lodge so we decided to eat there on Sunday. It was so nice to be able to walk from our lodge to the cafe for lunch. we all really enjoyed our roast, great beef & lots of lovely fresh veg, the staff were great, both friendly & very attentive.

I made a booking to come for Sunday lunch. It was just me and I was told I couldn’t come at 2:30pm but could come at 2:45pm. I came from Stowmarket so a bit of a drive but too far. I arrived on time to be told that there were no Sunday lunches available and wasn’t offered any alternative. Three members of staff spoke to me and all three were off / rude. In turn I left the cafe tearful. I have been a patron of the cafe a number of times and have brought my two young grandchildren. But I might think twice now about returning.

I went to fynn valley for the first time yesterday for food with friends and I have to say it was so lovely. It’s a modern building very clean and tidy. It was a hot day so we sat on the patio which again was well presented and tidy. In amongst the patio were small pockets of herb garden nicely labelled and in the distance you can see the golf course it really is a lovely view

We came for Sunday a lunch with a group of friends and various children. The booking was easy and the table was prepared ready, with an optional high chair.

Arrived early as a group of five, including two children. Impressive brunch menu including child’s menu. Hot drinks were generous and delicious. Food was piping hot and beautifully presented. Good selection of cakes too, and games outside for children to play. The setting is beautiful, the cafe is lovely and informal, and the service was impeccable. Prices were reasonable and compare with other venues locally. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely return for brunch sometime soon.

Went for lunch. Food was excellent, although the toasted Fynn Valley Club Sandwich bit overpriced when compared to the fantastic burger (great value and really good). Unfortunately, service was very poor. Once main course served, that was it. Were going to have pudding and coffee, but after 15 min wait, decided to call it a day. Real shame as we've had wonderful times previously (breakfast really good). It's a bit out of our way, so will be some time before we go back.

We had Friday lunch without booking, no too busy. The restaurant looks out on countryside and has a really nice light airy feel to it with the light oak beam structure and large windows. My wife and I both had the lamb burger with cooked peppers which was very tasty. The coffees were great too. I couldn't resist taking home two of their huge sausage rolls and they were scrummy also. Excellent value for money all round. Miranda adds a special bit of sparkle and would brighten up anyone's day but all the staff were very friendly. We look forward to our next visit which could well be for that tempting breakfast!

We hired one of the private dining rooms for a large group of us to have a meal for my grandparent’s anniversary. Leading up to we pre-ordered meal choices and some wine for the tables. The support with booking the event and the preparation was really accommodating and helpful. The three course meal itself was very good and offered some great choices; wrapped chicken, seabass and roast beef etc. all looked looked and tasted very good. The venue was stunning with some fabulous views. Clearly a lot of money and effort has been spent on the project and it has almost certainly paid off. A wonderful lunch setting for those special occasions. All the staff were really helpful and friendly and thoroughly looked after us all.

We visited this cafe for breakfast today. The food was good but both my husband and I found eggshell in it. Unfortunately I only found mine after I put it in my mouth. I understand that mistakes can happen, but I expect more than being told that the chef would be informed. At the very least we expect an apology and to be made to feel that our complaint matters.

Friday night is pizza night, alfresco wood oven baked pizza in a nice friendly atmosphere. Can at times be very busy best to arrive early.

Just attended a Celebration of Life here. Lovely room, great food, helpful and friendly staff, was the perfect place for such an event.

I visited the restaurant on 20th May 2019 with a party of seven golfers. I ordered a full English breakfast which quite frankly was very poor the beans had been mixed with ham and were inedible the sausage was awful and the generally the food was dry and appeared to have been warmed through rather than freshly cooked. The other members of the party had panini sandwiches which had been served with crisps and the consensus was that the food was overpriced and of poor quality.

We went to the terrace for my birthday lunch. The service was very poor. Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive and the food almost an hour. My food was served later than my guests so they had almost finished before my lunch arrived. The waitress did apologise for the wait but it really spoilt the lunch. Such a shame as the food was delicious and the surroundings are lovely, but the service needs to be improved!

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch for the first time. Lovely surroundings, but service was abysmal, one and a half hours before we got any food and when it did come it was just about passable. Not much meat and roast potatoes were overdone, vegetables left a lot to be desired. Will NEVER go back.

I took a friend here for breakfast as a birthday treat. We sat outside in the gorgeous surroundings. It’s a gem of a place and the veggie breakfast is delicious. Can’t wait to try out the Friday pizzas next.

Brilliant breakfast in this beautiful newly finished cafe terrace. The place is airy and light and the food was excellent - eggs benedict to die for! Great (local) producers supported and the service was top notch too. Go - you will enjoy.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous evening at Fynn Valley Cafe Terrace at their Dinner and Swing evening last friday. The singer Tony James was brilliant, sounded very much like Michael Buble. The food was some of the nicest I've eaten and portion sizes were very good. Our main dish was Beef Wellington and OMG,it was sooooo delicious i didn't want it to end!!

I took my wife out for a Valentine’s lunch along with my baby girl, who is 18 months old.

Fish and chips, quite a safe dish usually, except mine was very dry and hard, as it’s not batter, it’s breadcrumb. Peas were quite hard too. My friends had chocolate mousse with rhubarb. The rhubarb was inedible and although the mousse tasted nice, it consisted of just two small quenelles on the plate! This is an absolute rip off, as it’s gone in 4 mouthfuls. We expected the mousse either in a dish, or served such as a cheesecake is. We did pass on our comments as we believe the kitchen need to know what works and what doesn’t, but the waitress took our constructive comments as if personal to her, which they weren’t. The service was slow and not particularly welcoming or friendly. I won’t be recommending or returning.

Decided to visit the new cafe terrace and amazed at the interior. Lovely decor as well as bright and clean with great outlook onto golf course. Will look forward to returning on warmer days so that we can sit outside on the lovely terrace. Breakfast really nice and service with a smile.

This weekend we stayed at Fynn Valley holiday lodges so we decided to try out their new cafe. We had breakfast and lunch at the cafe during the weekend and both were absolutely delicious. Very friendly service as well. Would definitely return.

Met a girlfriend for lunch here yesterday and it was a big success. She had been before and recommended it. Arriving around 11.45am, it was very difficult to find a parking place so just waited till I saw someone leave and grabbed the slot! Lovely greeting at reception and the restaurant staff were delightful and helpful. Beautifully designed cafe with lovely open views across the site. We both chose from the 'special' menu; delicious and perfectly cooked crisp-skinned salmon on a bed of potato dauphinois with courgettes etc. Finished with two flat whites and the bill came to £28.40 excluding tip. We were not rushed in anyway, which we much appreciated. Would strongly recommend giving this place a try. It's a good venue for a girlie lunch and several other couples were fining there too. Not too far from Ipswich either.

Living in the village we decided we must give the new terrace cafe a look. The building interior was lovely light and airy and very spacious. The menu is limited but perfectly good enough for our light lunch. The calamari was absolutely delicious with a fantastic dipping sauce, would have been even better with a slightly bigger portion size. The tuna sandwiches and the classic club were both tasty and filling, great chips. Very friendly service, great outlook, really looking forward to returning in warmer temperatures so we can take our dog too. Will try the breakfast next time as the menu looks good.

Have been here 3 times for lunch. Building is very modern and airy. Plenty of choices on the menu. Very tasty food and friendly staff. Will be going again very soon.

Lunch at new terrace cafe. We had our own room and space to decorate and enjoy drinks before our sit down lunch. All pre ordered with name tags and our orders on the table, which helped. Food was amazing and very yummy. Staff look after us very well. Thank you Fynn Valley.

Nice staff, beautiful location. Footgolf is lots of fun, good value and there are refreshments available. A friendly atmosphere, not an intimidating atmosphere at all.

Boxing day lunch. Disgraceful. Cold and tiny portions of what must have been Christmas Day leftover veg and raw meat. Yes duck should be pink. Not red and bleeding..

On entering the restaurant it was cold and univiting. A huge room only half of which dressed with tables. No ambience whatsoever. Christmas decs were one piece of tinsel round a drink dispenser on the bar.
