Six of us, old school friends going back over seventy years, meet here for lunch at this delightful venue every six months. During our last visit on 8th October, we all enjoyed an excellent lunch served up in generous quantities. The staff were very attentive and looked after us very well, with a special mention for Rachel who really knows what customer service is all about. Needless to say, we are all looking forward to our next reunion lunch at The Three Horseshoes in Madingley.

Really disappointing went for a late supper, shared cheese stater took 45 minutes, both bar staff completely uninterested in checking in for drinks,or food. The service was completely awful in clearing table even after I stacked the plates for them no mention of do you require another drunk etc. Totally despondent service won't return.

Menu somewhat limited but food was lovely. It was very busy and lots of people talking inside was inevitably loud; however, this was made unbearable by the rock music blasting out from the speakers. When we mentioned it to a staff member she wasn't interested. We would have stayed for cake but as it was couldn't bear the noise any longer.

We stopped on the off chance as we travelled to Cambridge. Decided to stay for lunch. Lovely Thai themed lunch, friendly atmosphere, clean facilities. Reasonable price for fresh cooked beautifully presented food. If we lived nearby we would definitely be back.

I booked ahead for 3ish for 3 people. Arrived and it was busy as expected but this didn't affect the service at all. The atmosphere was lovely surrounded by all walks of life and was very pleasant. On the day I decided I didn't fancy a roast dinner so was happy to see the Burger on the menu 😁 the girls went for the generously portioned roast dinner and were blissfully defeated! A dessert was also had ... the sticky toffee was a great finishing touch 👌🏾 hence the photo was not taken as it was devoured!

The rating I've given is for the cafe. Waited in a long queue for at least 10mins before I even got the hot drinks i ordered the Mint Hot chocolate with cream and aero pieces thought I'd treat myself it was nearly £5 so I a good Hot Chocolate, well it was in a normal sized cup 3 quarters full with some cream and areo springed on top it was luke warm. The staff weren't overly friendly either. I won't be rushing back anytime soon

Very excited to pop in and have a toasty and cream scones after reading great reviews. Sadly the service fell WAY short to basically ruin the experience. No hint of any customer service by the young lady on the till. Inflexible with regard to timing of our lunch. Made it very clear there was no table service! Appreciate it was probably the end of a long day, but keep it going until the doors close! In summary .. good food, tainted by poor service. 😞

Chose the Plough as it was a half-way meeting point between ourselves & our friends. Read positive reviews about Sunday lunch before booking & the reviews proved largely accurate. 3 of us had roasts & 1 had a burger. The roasts were great (even on a later sitting), all seemed fresh, meat was perfectly cooked, lovely big crispy yorkshire puddings & lots of gravy! Burger was good, but not outstanding. The wine list was fantastic & selection by the glass was vast (in comparison with most pubs). Team were really friendly (albeit a little forgetful at times that saw us waiting longer than you might expect for drinks & coffees). There was a nice atmosphere & I would definitely recommend & come back again. Thanks to all the team

This cafe used to be a favourite of mine for lunch with friends. Today it was a total disappointment. The menu offerings were poor. The burgers we ordered were described as being in brioche bread. They were in common white bread burger buns. My prawn sandwich with crisps was in very thick white bread, no butter and far too much corse ground black pepper in the shrimps masquerading as prawns. The crisps were actually tortilla chips which I dislike. I was not offered the choice to have or not have butter. I am careful how much bread I eat and could not eat this thick bread. The burgers my husband and friend had were also over seasoned with black pepper. Sorry we will not be lunching there again. Everything looked over cooked. Even the scones looked overcooked and unappetising. The lady taking orders looked so miserable, was not at all friendly. She dumped cutlery and glass on the counter. I was only given a fork to eat the salad on my plate. It was very expensive with my sandwich priced at £9.50. The burgers @ £14.50 each. Lunch for two with a coffee and Coke drink was over £35. No reduction offered when the staff were made aware of how awful it was.
