Six of us, old school friends going back over seventy years, meet here for lunch at this delightful venue every six months. During our last visit on 8th October, we all enjoyed an excellent lunch served up in generous quantities. The staff were very attentive and looked after us very well, with a special mention for Rachel who really knows what customer service is all about. Needless to say, we are all looking forward to our next reunion lunch at The Three Horseshoes in Madingley.

Visited for a birthday event with 30 people. The staff were phenomenal and that was only matched by the quality of the food which was exceptional given the size of the group. Can’t recommend highly enough to anyone looking for super friendly, high quality dining and drinks in Cambridge. A massive thanks to all of the team including Pasque / Max and William ❤️

Food is hit and miss. Expensive for what you get. Burger for example at £19.50 was horrible. The pattie was clearly bought in, probably frozen. It was so fatty with no meat flavour and horrible squishy mouthfeel. Chips are from a catering pack and overcooked into greasy burnt sticks. It's just not acceptable for this price range and high-end pub market. Starters and snacks ok to good. Service was friendly and attentive especially by the Portuguese manager who's working hard. Pleasant ambience.

If there is a zero star, I would like to give them. Let me tell you about our experience. Today we two adults brought two children, one three years old and the other four years old, to their cafe to drink coffee and we sat indoors. When we had almost half of the cup, the waiter came over and told me that their manager saw our children eating things that did not belong to the store. They asked us to immediately stop, hoped us can understand. At that time, the children were eating lollipops and crisps, which were just snacks for children. They said that the cafe has a rule that children cannot eat these things in store, and they must consume things which bought from the order point, which is allowed. We respected their rule and immediately asked the children to stop. We thought we were really cooperative. Although we have lived in the UK for nearly 20 years and no restaurants or cafe have had such a rule, we still kept our manners and been really polite. At the same time, there was a local family sitting at the next table, and there was a little girl who was also holding a bag of snack and eating them. In fact, I personally think that there is nothing wrong with letting children eat. I think the table next door is doing nothing wrong, as you couldn’t force children to eat outside food all the time, they have their favourites. And they have right to eat children food. We quickly finished our coffee and prepared to pay the bill. When paying the bill, I specifically reminded the waiter that if you have a rule, please treat all customers equally instead of differently, because it will make me feel that you are racially discriminating, which is very irritating and unreasonable and rude! Their manager came towards us angrily and said that the table next to us was eating baby snacks while we were eating something different. Okay, if you insist on saying that, I have nothing to argue with you. then is it normal for your cafe to bully customers at this stage? I don't think this excuse is acceptable, all I received was prejudice and racism. The whole time we had coffee took up less than 25 minutes in the store.we didn’t hold the table for a long time just because of the children need to eat some snacks. If you are in the situation, what would you think?

We stopped on the off chance as we travelled to Cambridge. Decided to stay for lunch. Lovely Thai themed lunch, friendly atmosphere, clean facilities. Reasonable price for fresh cooked beautifully presented food. If we lived nearby we would definitely be back.

I booked ahead for 3ish for 3 people. Arrived and it was busy as expected but this didn't affect the service at all. The atmosphere was lovely surrounded by all walks of life and was very pleasant. On the day I decided I didn't fancy a roast dinner so was happy to see the Burger on the menu 😁 the girls went for the generously portioned roast dinner and were blissfully defeated! A dessert was also had ... the sticky toffee was a great finishing touch 👌🏾 hence the photo was not taken as it was devoured!

We brought our two children on a whim one early lunchtime on a Saturday in December, knowing that it was very much a gamble whether we would get a table without a reservation. As we arrived just before 12.30 they kindly fit us in before a 1.30 reservation. This gave us plenty of time to enjoy the excellent fish (accompanied by only ok tartare, curry sauce and crushed peas) and chips and burger. The children's pasta and pesto were less of a hit, appeared unseasoned, though this may be a bonus to very health conscious parents who don't give their children salt. I bet the decorations with miniature Christmas trees throughout looks even nicer at night. All in all a pleasant experience.

This cafe used to be a favourite of mine for lunch with friends. Today it was a total disappointment. The menu offerings were poor. The burgers we ordered were described as being in brioche bread. They were in common white bread burger buns. My prawn sandwich with crisps was in very thick white bread, no butter and far too much corse ground black pepper in the shrimps masquerading as prawns. The crisps were actually tortilla chips which I dislike. I was not offered the choice to have or not have butter. I am careful how much bread I eat and could not eat this thick bread. The burgers my husband and friend had were also over seasoned with black pepper. Sorry we will not be lunching there again. Everything looked over cooked. Even the scones looked overcooked and unappetising. The lady taking orders looked so miserable, was not at all friendly. She dumped cutlery and glass on the counter. I was only given a fork to eat the salad on my plate. It was very expensive with my sandwich priced at £9.50. The burgers @ £14.50 each. Lunch for two with a coffee and Coke drink was over £35. No reduction offered when the staff were made aware of how awful it was.
