Good village pub, offering refreshments, quiz nights, morris dancing, etc a real asset to a well established village giving a sense of community whereby the local trades people mingle with visitors who come to the area on holidays.Dog friendly, recently done up in the small bar which looks lovely, log fires in the winter. Long may it stay for the next generations to come. Car parking in the front with 1 disabled space, and reasonable parking behind the pub.Lovely beer garden ideal for the sunny days.

Rare old fashioned traditional pub, open to all - worth a visit and located in the beautiful village of Barton Family friendly and very welcoming and inclusive. Spacious pub garden. Pub snacks like crisps and nuts available. No permanent food offering but generally there is a food truck every other Friday. Pub quiz on the first Tuesday of the month - endless fun and debate!! 😆 Warm and cosy fireplace, ideal in winter 🔥

Tried raw scallop as starter I had not heard of before, it was amazing balanced with the pickled pears omg. Slight problem some dishes weren't available I really wanted moules fritz but mussels weren't fresh at market so fine I had cornish anchovy also amazing be back for more. Small pub trying to do something a bit different treat it as a nice night out with great food surrounded by some local characters loved it.

Lovely little pub on a much needed break in my journey. There were a few locals in when I got there, they and the staff were very welcoming. I'm not really a dog person, but their dog was very friendly and well kept. I spent quite a bit of time chatting with Neil, running the bar, who is a very experienced and knowledgeable guy. I am super impressed with how inclusive things are at this pub and that seems to be down to him so, thanks and keep up the great work. All in all, it's easy to get to. It's a small place, but that adds to its charm and with such friendly staff and customers I'll definitely be coming back 👍👍

Food N/A We are passing through and stopped off. We were greeted by the very lovely friendly "pub dog" 🐕 who stayed behind the bar and loved nothing more than a big fuss. Lovely old style pub with a friendly landlord and just as friendly patrons. The atmosphere was great, and to say that we are not locals, we were made most welcome and enjoyed a lovely pint. Angela + Sean we shall return. P.S we cannot understand the negative comment from a couple of weeks ago, the one that states about the "barking" dog. We read this and did think twice about going in, but we make our own minds up.

Beautifull Pub, we held our wedding at The Hoops, it was the best day, all the staff and the landlord bent over backwards to make our day so special and memorable. It has a welcoming feeling when entering, it was the perfect venue for our wedding, the garden is huge that we were able to have two very large gazebos, plus an area for the outside caterer. All our guests loved the atmosphere and the venue was actually the talk of the entire day. We regularly visit, and the landlord has introduced many new events, raising money for local charities and arranging different outside caterers, also not forgetting the cosy nights next to the fire pit with a pint goes down a treat. Lovely little pub looking forward to all the exciting things to come in the future.

Saw the pub as we were passing and thought it looked a nice spot to enjoy a drink in the garden on a Sunday afternoon. Our welcome was to be greeted by a very large dog barking at us madly from behind the bar. Place is run down so no surprise it was practically empty and abuse from 1 of the only 2 other customers as we ordered drinks. Walked out - just wish we had not stopped in the first place.

Met a friend for a drink early Saturday evening. Ordered a drink at the bar and then went and sat outside. Locals all received table service outside however, being a non local we did not, and had to go inside and order. Points to note: locals receive preferential treatment, landlady offered no welcome look or smile or hello, pub decor run dow, toilets match that of public toilets. Used to be a great pub years ago but has since gone to the dogs - avoid!

This is my local, I used to work here under a fantastic landlord that made it a real drinking pub and was so welcoming to all. Under a different manager I stopped coming as I felt unwelcome. However the new manager has really turned it around. Me and my friends feel welcome to play pool on the table they have and enjoy a few drinks. No food as this is a small simple drinkers pub.
