The best restaurants in Wensum Norwich East of England

A real surprise. We weren’t sure about this restaurant & take away as it seemed to be in a garage forecourt, but it was amazing. Fantastic, beautifully presented and tasty food. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of choice for both meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans (ask for the vegan menu). If you are near here, try it! You won’t be disappointed. We will be back.

Great selection of delicious and interesting dishes. All super tasty. Good service and lovely little venue. Will be back multiple times for sure. Chicken burgers and ramen to die for.

Absolutely brilliant value! Lovely cod, lovely haddock... Crispy batter and yet such moist fish. Battered sausages were delicious (that's a make or break for me) chips are the best I have had in 20 years and so many for your money! Absolutely delicious A+++

Been going here for years, had a horrible experience yesterday with a rude hostile women who took my order from the counter. Never had issues before with removing items from breakfast and substituting with something else, instead without telling me yesterday she removed items and charged me extra for the swapped items, which I explained if that’s the case I’ll keep the removed items if I’m paying for them, she huffed at me like I was messing her around when in fact she should of explained what she was doing even though it’s never been an issue the 100 odd other times I’ve been, in good spirit as a joke I turned to my pals behind me who was waiting to order that we should of went to the cafe round the corner (Hartys) she didn’t take this lightly. Even resulted in my portion sizes being changed, comparing my mates plates to mine. Very petty

Our first time at this wonderful restaurant but unfortunately due to their imminent closure our last visit. We wish we had found you sooner. The food and atmosphere and staff were all amazing. One we will not forget

OMG this place was bloody awful! Let me start by saying I expected good food from this place as this place is popular amongst people around this area. I ordered a large tail end of fish, beef and onion pie, gravy and chips, I received a medium which was way over cooked which made the fish hard under the batter. The pie was nice once I took the lid off. The lid and pastry was also hard and had obviously sat under the light way to long. The chips greasy but edible. The gravy cold. Also I don't know whether it's just me but this place smelt like urine like the cooked grease

No tea cakes again today. And the front door is still broken. Everyone has to enter through the rear door which is propped open. This has been going on for weeks and makes the place draughty. Just been again. Door still broken. Cafe still draughty. Still no teacakes !

Stopped to sample the carvery whilst on holiday and we weren’t disappointed. Paul was really helpful finding us a great table, which worked as we had our dog. Food was great, roast beef and turkey. The owner’s sister (sorry didn’t get her name) was lovely and we had a nice chat with her. They have been through a lot with all the recent flooding, great to see the place very busy and doing so well. Good luck. Hope to be back. 👍

Ok food… thought I’d try somewhere else instead of my local (kam moon which is the best!) I ordered the set meal for one and you are able to change the chop suey to anything you like. The lady at the till was nice even though she was under a lot of stress with busyness. I got the peking chicken instead of the chop suey. It was ok, a bit tasteless and just tasted like sweet and sour sauce with chilli flakes as opposed to a capital sauce. The fried rice, chop suey and chow mein come in a small container even if you buy it separately so something to look out for. I think you can ask for same container food. The chicken balls were nice and the sweet and sour sauce wasn’t too sweet and had a gingery taste which was different. The salt and pepper chicken was nice not too salty, wish they did salt and pepper wings instead. Could have more seasoning a bit bland until mixed. No complementary prawn crackers and chilli oil. I’ll try them again but recommend doing pick-up as they’re not on any takeaway apps and you’ll probably receive your food a bit late. I won’t be getting the peking dish again.

held off leaving a review as now have new owners or so i was told,ordered chips on both visits and on each visit chips were hard,i wont be using them again nor would i recommend using them.

I had not been in for many years but stopped for a drink and take photos of the wonderful use of upcycled bicycles used to make a fence around the outside of the pub. The pub was tidy and I got a warm welcome from the bar staff and locals alike and my dog was made very welcome in the pub too. Theres a fresh pizza cabin outside that also makes burgers etc. It was a busy Friday evening on my visit and I enjoyed my visit and will go again.

When I actually receive the subway I want, my experience is 10/10. Unfortunately, in this subway to receive the subway you want is rare. No matter what time I come in there is always a problem with the meatballs. I came just as they opened and they said the meatballs aren't ready yet, I came around midday and they said the meatballs was sold out. It genuinely shouldn't be that hard to prepare more meatballs in the morning. Please fix this

Really poor service, would not recommend ordering from this place as they overcharged, or add additional fees when they like, have ordered from here before was really good service but seems like management have got greedy and are happy to rip people off, also like to point out, staff members or managers are happy to hang up on you when you tell them you have been over charge. Better training skills needed, used to be a good takeaway, as previously rated 5*
