My girlfriend and I visited this coffee shop for the first time, hoping to have a nice experience, but unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed. From the moment we mentioned it was our first time there, the barista's attitude felt rude and dismissive. When we asked about the different blends, instead of getting friendly guidance, we felt like we were being looked down on, which made us uncomfortable. It’s a shame because the coffee itself was actually really good, but the unwelcoming atmosphere and snooty attitude from the staff definitely overshadowed that. A little more warmth and friendliness would go a long way to match the quality of the coffee. Unfortunately, with so many great spots around, this experience makes it hard to recommend.

Came in to try the coffee as I’d read good things. I stood waiting at the till for a while with no acknowledgment of me being stood there. One barista was chatting to someone over the bar and the other was sat at the end of the bar on their phone. I really wanted to know about their coffee but the barista was very blunt and didn’t make me feel comfortable enough to ask the questions I wanted to.

Did not have food, overall a 4 star due to the coffee being great, I was a little put off as the barista when i ask for a certain blend just casually ignored my request and made the coffee with the first one then continued to play on their phone..... and the second barista just was hipster...... come on it's the 21st Century... had better coffee expected more as went here a few years back and was overall better..

I gave this place the benefit of the doubt last time, but I can confidently say that the staff here are among the worst in Brighton. Whoever is in charge of recruitment at Bond St should seriously take a long look at themselves. I ordered a dry cappuccino, which you would expect a ‘speciality’ coffee shop to be familiar with. When I complained about the drink not being right, I was met with an annoyed look and a comment from the barista along the lines of ‘I’ll try, but it’s hard to see in the dark.’ Frankly, their lighting problems aren’t my concern. When the drink was returned, it was essentially the same, with a token bit of extra froth. I couldn’t even be bothered to complain again. Overall, a terrible experience. The staff are absolutely dreadful.

Friendly place with beautiful coffee and staff who are always willing to "chat coffee". If you love black coffee then you have to try the batch filter version. Even better try the pourover, there's real craft in that. Just, wow.

Nice coffee place. In a town full of coffee it's hard to choose I know. This one boasts it's own roasts which you can buy for home too. My standard latte order in the morning was nice, well brewed espresso and a nicely steamed milk. Definitely worth a go for your morning coffee. Plus there is good bakery across the street of you need fresh bread or pastries.

Nice cafe with friendly service but when I'm paying £3.90 for an espresso I expect it to be dialed in properly and taste of its flavor notes. The crema was thin and the shot tasted rather mediocre, still good but not £3.90 good. A little disappointed. (Edit as response to owner) It was the Myanmar bean, it had a very thin crema layer and I feel as if was ground slightly to coarse based on flavour. Thank you for the reply I hope this was just an isolated issue!!

I ordered pour over which takes a few minutes to prepare. Barista told me that if he'll have orders from other people he'll do that first and I'll need to wait longer((( Why? This cafe needs to either hire more employees or change its customer service policy. And I waited the longest for my banana bread (((( There were only a few customers in it. Coffe that I ordered cost 7 pounds. I like coffe there but I didn't meet such an attitude in other specialty coffee places.

Seen a bad review of this place that I just cant believe is true, I urge you to give them another go as your experience is far from the norm. Just curious as to whether you ate the bacon sandwich susann0rwich? I have been using Bond St café for years and I have to say it is easily the best café experience in the Norwich, if fact one of the best I have ever been to. The staff are friendly and do all they can to accommodate you and your tastes, willing to make small changes to the menu items so ensure you get the best plate of food possible for you money. As well as the cafe favourites, there are loads of health and hearty meal options for you to choose from. All the way from roast dinners to salads. The place is clean, tidy, with a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. You will always be made welcome and to some of the older regulars like me, A brilliant place to have in our community. I like a traditional caff and was looking forward to a nice bacon sarnie and coffee. My table was very greasy so I went to ask for a cloth. The member of staff said she would wipe it - it got two quick swipes with a wet cloth leaving me with a greasy but now wet table and the baked bean still there! I wonder if that was to teach me a lesson for complaining or if she thought that wiping a greasy table with a wet cloth was up to scratch? Other places use a spray cleaner on tables which gets through any grease. Never going there again, looking around at the walls and floors they don't clean them properly either so I am not risking what they might or might not clean in the kitchen!

I enjoy a cooked breakfast on occasion, having said that the reviews on here are false. Paid £7.90 for a bumper breakfast, additionally £1.00 for an instant coffee, that was included last time. The price isn’t even correct with the pricing on the website menu. That’s why there’s no photos of the breakfast menus shown. When will people learn you can’t charge £8.90 for a run of the mill breakfast, using cheap ingredients. This used to be a really good cafe in Norwich, changing hands the new owners are just greedy and the place is empty. No napkins, cafe was cold to sit in, with sticky table tops. Just a rip off. I won’t be going back.
