YMCA confirmed this cafe has closed for good. A great shame as it was great value and very convenient for the city centre. They now have a cafe called Williams Kitchen on the Aylsham Road.

Very obliging staff. Asked for slimming breakfast - no longer available! Ordered poached eggs on toast, eggs hard and 1 piece of toast black. Sadly not good enough. Disappointed!

Busy cafe. Polite friendly staff. Orders taken of prawn baguette and a cappachino . Happy atmosphere. Order not long in arriving followed by drinks.Generous plate of food with salad and crisps. Very good. My guest was equally happy with hot wrap and hot chocolate.

The Cafe is known for its great value locally sourced cooked breakfast and the fantastic omelettes which are undoubtedly the best in Norwich. Light and fluffy with a good choice of fillings. Today, my guest and I had the prawn and ham salad and the chilli con carne. The chilli was a really good portion for £6.50 and had the perfect amount of heat. Highly recommend a visit to Stepping Stones. You will not be disappointed.

Came before a London trip. Deserves to be busier. Cracking breakfast although didn’t like the coffee much! Don’t like the sachets of sauce either but apart from that solid 4/5. Made a bacon sandwich and finished on the bus as too much food really! Great value breakfast.

I get my bus from the Bus Station now and then and this particular day the heavens had opened and I was already wet. The buses were on a bit of a go slow because of the weather so I nipped in here to get warm. I had a hot chocolate and scone - the staff were really jolly and helpful even giving me a hand towel to dry off. They do all sorts - sndwiches, soups etc etc. If I were catching a bus again I would make time to spare to put in here again to try one of the delicious looking cakes.

Meet my daughter her for lunch as it is close to her work place, food always spot on, we have a sandwich with chips and salad garnish and drink and the bill is less than £12 very good value for money, and the staff are great, I also like the fact the money is doing some good, I have also had the buffet food which is provided at union meetings I attend which is also very good. Carry on the good work see you soon.

Have used this great little cafe since it opened, the food is excellent all freshly prepared to order & the prices are very reasonable compared to the rest of the cafes in Norwich city center. The staff are great too, always friendly & service with a smile. The fact that this cafe has the ethos behind it that it does is the main reason to make sure you try it out. Helping young people find good work experience in an environment that they are comfortable in is an ingenious idea, well done YMCA Norwich. I will definitely use the cafe any time i am in the City.

This is a difficult one as, whilst I applaud the initiative of the YMCA in opening and running this cafe, the prices charged show that it is trying to be in the league of a considerable number of other cafes in Norwich and it's more expensive than many. However, the surroundings are not inspiring - more like a bus station cafe, which I suppose it basically is being on the opposite side of the bus station! The whole place could do with decorating as it's rather tatty and there's ingrained dirt on the floors. To top it all, chipped crockery - my plate was chipped in 3 places, which is inexcusable. Having said that, they do a good coffee and my sausage roll was ok! At 10.30am on a Friday in the school holidays, I was the only one in there when other cafes were crowded, so I think that tells you something. Sorry YMCA but, with the prices you're charging, you've got a lot of competition.

I stumbled across this cafe when I had some time to spare at Norwich Bus Station. I had a sandwich which was served with a side salad. A good meal at a reasonable cost. The cafe is run as a way to give young people work experience, and that makes it even more worth the while to visit it.

Really cannot beat the quality and value of the food here! The specials are more like something you'd get at a restaraunt than a cafe. Friendly staff and it all helps young homeless people. A must visit!

We chose lunch from the daily specials board, lambs liver with bacon, carrots, plus bubble and squeek. We couldn't believe how good it was, attractively presented, cooked perfectly, took a little time to arrive so had been freshly prepared. Added to that it was excellent value. Definitely on our list for future visits. Waiting staff were very helpful an friendly.

I wandered in today after hearing good things from my colleagues. I was met with a smiling staff member, I believe he said his name was Muḥammad, who was extremely helpful. He made me promptly placed my order and received it after less than a couple of minutes. All staff on till and in kitchen were very friendly and pleasant. I will most definitely be making this my local and regular food stop. I don't remember the last time I went into a café/shop and walked out feeling so enthused about the service and staff.

This lovely little place is our regular lunch venue when my friend and I go to the theatre royal norwich. Her usual choice is cheese and onion pannini with chips and salad and I generally opt for the healthy option of jacket potato and baked beans. However, today we had one of their specials ; Cajun chicken with potato wedges (chips for her) with a very refreshing salsa and salad. No sweets for us but a very good coffee - we'd already had coffees when we got off the bus on our arrival.

Dropped in for a quick hot drink before catching a bus from Norwich Bus station (opposite) The staff were welcoming, the drinks were excellent, piping hot and served with a smile. The prices were reasonable and although I wasn't having a meal I checked the menu which seemed pretty good. The cafe was clean and tidy, and I'll definately call in again. I understand that the staff there are learning new skills to help them get back into the job market, so that was an extra bonus.

Had been meaning to give them a try for sometime and we didn't regret going. The food was well cooked and presented and great value compared with the likes of M&S; and John Lewis. The café was smart, clean and the loo equally so. The staff friendly and willing to engage in conversation. The fact that they train YMCA boarders along with other people from local charities makes them worth your support.

This is not Michelin, neither is it posh grub, it is honest cooking at honest prices. It is a social enterprise ploughing profits back into making young peoples lives better. I had the baguette with chips and salad. The bread was baked that day. The Coronation chicken spicy with the blend of sultanas and curry spices spot on. The salad was delicately balance with a vinaigrette and the portion of chips crisp and honest. And wait for it all for under £4.... can't get fairer than that. So if you are in Norwich and want food that is good for your tummy and eat something yummy head over to Stepping Stones, safe in the knowledge that helping others makes food taste so much better.......... oh and the staff are fab and have time to chat

I always try to find time for a visit to Stepping Stones when I'm in the city and have taken friends and family there too. The food is such good value for money (a large sandwich with chips and salad for less than you'd pay for a small panini at Starbucks!) and it is good quality too. Bit of a walk from centre but classic city estate pub. Good choice of beers, classy old gents lining the bar. Exactly what you'd expect from this type of pub.

We walked in and asked for a table for two. There were lots of empty tables and customers peraring to leave, but we were barked at and told we could sit outside and there were no other options. We wouldnt have minded sitting outside, but the rude guy we spoke to made us feel like an inconvenience, so we left and went somewhwere else.
