Our first time at this wonderful restaurant but unfortunately due to their imminent closure our last visit. We wish we had found you sooner. The food and atmosphere and staff were all amazing. One we will not forget

First time eating here @woolfandsocial and we had a really great time! There was a bowl of truffle popcorn while you wait and once you have ordered, the chef will send out the food in pairs which he thinks will go well together. We had a reservation for our anniversary. I recommend getting 3-4 sides and a main if it’s just the two of you. So sad they will close next month. 💔🥺 (please don’t close). We ordered: • Celeriac and Horseradish Remoulade • Leaves, Goats’ Cheese, & Pickled Walnuts • Norfolk Cheese Croquettes • Fried Chicken, Fennel, & Lovage • Braised Pork Belly • Chocolate Cake & Laphroaig Cream Indeed was the best place for our anniversary dinner. 🤍 Hope we can come back before they close.

We read that this restaurant is soon to close its doors for the last time. A great shame if true, we had a delicious meal there with good wine and excellent service. It’s nothing to look at in a residential street. We walked past without noticing the first time. The food was fresh, innovative and very tasty and our meal for 2 with wine at £93 ex service was excellent value. It seemed similar style to The Cookhouse in Newcastle or Five March in Glasgow. Unfortunately the only time we’ll eat here but definitely a meal to remember

Visiting Norwich for the Sheriffs’ weekend and booked Woolfe and Social before we left home in York. Good decision without a doubt. Only sorry we don’t live in Norwich and can’t go back again. Fab food, staff and atmosphere. Thank you everyone. Good luck with your future.

So,so sad to hear that this spectacular, ground breaking (for Norwich at least) resteraunt will close at the end of the year. Affordable fine dining for the masses. So many good times, so much great food. If you haven't eaten here then make a booking right now. I, for one will be making the most of this Norwich destination eatery as much as possible for as long as they are trading. We booked ahead and so glad we did. We had read all the great reviews and also wanted to eat there before it closes at the end of the year. The menu is an electic mix of dishes and they are all Sharing plates. We had about 11 dishes between 4 of us we had so much food we had to ask to take 3 of the dishes home with us. Unfortunately I’m unable to list all the dishes we had but I can tell you they were all Delicious and each had a quirky twist. It was definitely my favourite meal while we were in Norwich . I highly recommend you eat here before it closes down

In Norwich on holiday for a few days. Picked this restaurant from the reviews. It’s a bit out of the centre, it’s not the best location and it’s not fancy. Do not be put off. The service was very good and the food was stunning and all very reasonably priced. 6 dishes, followed by cheese and a bottle of wine £80. If you enjoy food you simply must try this restaurant. SUPERB.

Went here for Sunday lunch. Casual atmosphere. Very friendly service. The food is tapas style but the portions are decent. It was not busy. I enjoyed the vegetable dishes which were Mediterranean in flavour. The picked hake dish was slightly odd. It's vegetarian friendly. Would return.

We had the most perfect lunch at Woolf & Social yesterday, something we have been meaning to do for years. A gift from the kids prompted us to find time and we were not disappointed. We sat outside which was relaxed, informal and just as it should be, the service was relaxed and attentive. A bottle of blush was picked and it was a perfect start to browse the menu. We were given a great run down of all the dishes and decided on the sourdough, croquettes, fried chicken, hassleback potatoes, asparagus and the pork belly. The plates were brought out a couple at a time which was timed just right. The detail, presentation and flavour of each dish was simply amazing, an absolute treat. We finish with the rice pudding which was a delight and a perfect end to our lunch. Summing up, we had a fantastic time and can not fault the whole experience, food, wine, ambience and service were all perfect. Thank you all and looking forward to seeing you again soon.

We were so lucky to choose this restaurant. Sitting under cover outside was a lovely start. Then the Truffle Popcorn arrived - it could have been overpowering but it was simply amazing. We chose a variety of dishes and all were interesting, tasty and slightly unusual. All came out as they were ready, and everything was freshly prepared with great ingredients. We’d not heard of some of the ingredients, but our lovely waitress was happy to explain what they were. We’d definitely visit again

I've read a few reviews that describe this place as 'fine dining' which might put a few people off. It's not. It's much better that that. A local restaurant, with a warm welcome that is putting out plate after plate of fantastic food at a more that reasonable price. Equally good for a casual meal as it is a special occasion. Don't hesitate. I only regret not discovering this gem sooner.

Another amazing evening here! The menu is always different and exciting. There were too many highlights to mention everything. As usual the croquettes and the fried chicken were great. The pork belly and apple was amazing. All the veg dishes we had were such good flavour combinations. Wine recommendations were excellent. All the staff are fantastic. Helpful and friendly. There is nowhere quite like Woolf and Social and we can’t wait to come back.

What a great find, and so not what we were expecting. Food is fantastic, we managed to do the whole menu, except for the lamb! such interesting dishes and wonderful flavours. Great wines, and Louise our server was so friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Would seriously recommend for a fun lunch. We sat outside as it was sunny and it was like being abroad. we will return.

We have been meaning to eat here for a while and now I wished we’d had visited sooner! What a fantastic place with a first class menu. The restaurant is designed so you share your dishes which actually is the best way, as every dish is so full of flavour; fresh and unique but with some familiar flavours. Don't be fooled by the outside!! Excellent food cooked with care with amazing flavours. The staff was friendly and welcoming (special shout out to our waiter that was his first shift as a FOH!!). The truffle popcorn was a nice surprise and the vegan spicy nduja butter was amazing!

Excellent- we walked here to build up an appetite & not disappointed - first enjoyed a pint in the Fat Cat pub opposite. Then arrived & was seated in a small comfortable dining area - what a gem of a place for a special night...

Had quite high expectations however, waiter was rude and unhelpful, seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else, food was way overpriced and took a long time to arrive and was average. Chef was friendly though!!

Wow…what a cheeky hidden gem! Food was interesting, fresh and delicious…great flavours and excellent combinations. The service was lovely, prompt and very knowledgeable. Great menu , something different from the norm without breaking the bank.

Turned up there by taxi and at first wasn’t sure if it was where we were going or not. Didn’t see a sign. Saw the pub opposite we got in a muddle thinking was that it as we’d not been to either before. But it was a pub so guessed that was the place on the corner with the lights on. Also it’s In a residential street so maybe there’s parking for those of you who drive if you’re wondering (but dont drive btw the cocktails are lovely and there’s a pub opposite 🍻) In all honesty it being Valentines night you never know what you’ll get as it’s a busy time for restaurants but I have to say other than an absurdly noisy table that turned up (thankfully) near the end of our meal and completely took over the atmosphere (kids up and down, the adults had no respect for the others in the room having their romantic nights out) the night was absolutely incredible 🥂. Great service, great cocktails, food was much better than expected (being honest guys the menu looks basic and sometimes didn’t understand the things on the menu) so when confronted with “smacked cucumber” you have to ask questions. I’ll say it again, the food was truly excellent. Every dish was delicious and not overdone in anyway, and also every one was better than expected. the fried chicken which could have seemed basic was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, crunchy yet moist and every dish had great accompaniments to them too whether the sauce or pickle, the subtle hints of excellence on every plate, all was amazing. And after all this praise you may wonder was it expensive. Well costs have gone up everywhere for everything. It’s hard to say anything these days is good value for money but considering we drank 4 cocktails and a bottle of wine with the food for less than £100 plus we added 12.5% for well deserved tip for the service I’d say the meal was almost cheaper than it could have been and incredible value for money. Thanks for a great night chef and staff alike and for those wondering… the Fat Cat pub opposite was a great end to the night too. What a combo Cheers

Our first visit this evening . Blown away! The last time we had a meal this good was in Girona 14 years ago!! Fantastic range of dishes which show a real skill and appreciation of flavour combinations that are just amazing. Great selection of wines, excellent service and really great music made the whole evening very special. All very responsibly priced. Talent talent talent !

You could quite easily travel around the world looking for better and never find it. If you can pull together 5-6 people and order everything on the menu and double up on a couple of the ‘main’ dishes, then you’re in for an unbeatable treat! Dishes are brought out in waves of complimentary flavours - eat them together - the dishes in isolation are great, but with each other, they’re magic! Surprisingly substantial and well presented food

Love love love this place. The location is bizarre and the venue itself is the twin of Shoreditch chic. Staff are super, the service unequalled and the menu... I want to enter into holy matrimony with this menu. The menu is poetic. Ate here twice in the same week in order to exhaust the menu. No. Dish. Failed. The broccoli miso and chilli meringue had to be enjoyed twice. What a sensation! Lemon possett, glazed nectarine in honey... just stop already! No, seriously. STOP! Fresh, interesting and varied food. Can get VERY noisy by guests shouting over themselves. Acoustic panels, or something else to absorb sound at busy times would make repeat visits more appealing.

You’ll be the alpha of the pack after dining at Woolf & Social. When visiting Norwich for a weekend, I was taken to this excellent spot with unique dishes. The service was fast, high quality and you’ll be howling at the moon for more after sampling this sublime menu. The fact you don’t have to hound them about their payment methods is also excellent as they willingly take American Express

I have to say tasty food and lovely ambience. Very friendly staff and great service. I only give four stars due to the wooden school like chairs on the patio, being uncomfortable and causing back pain for days after our visit.

Quirky place, amazing food and service, highly recommended.

Great food, but Google maps have it as ££ where as I think it's more expensive. However, I would say the price was right for the food quality and service. They say they promote sharing dishes, so perhaps I missed out as a solo diner. Good for wine drinkers, but limited choice for beer enthusiasts. It was quite a walk from where I was staying, but worth the journey, especially when combined with a trip to the Fat Cat pub close by (which has a huge beer selection).

Awful value for money. Went as a group of 7. Had seen previous reviews and had good expectations. Menu was different to expected (what was seen online). To start. I am not a big drinker, but don’t want sugar or calories. They had absolutely no diet fizzy drinks at all to offer. I had to drink water… fine I suppose. Though I did have to request a normal sized glass- the ones we were given were smaller than the ones used for children’s school dinners. The menu- a few meats to choose from. Veg dishes all same price as meat dishes- a small plate of teriyaki mushrooms for £9- nice, but average (and not enough of it). Not worth the price we paid. The corn was literally a corn on the cob, barely grilled with a bit of sauce, again not worth paying for. The smacked cucumber, no zing, not enough and horrendously expensive for what it is- a cucumber costs less than £1! The potato came as 2 little chunks- overly salty with a mustard sauce. The fried chicken that we waited a long time for, was unfortunately dry, the coating was not crispy, and the sauce was too thin and didn’t go with the chicken at all- not worth the wait. A long time to wait between dishes which meant there were long pauses between a bit of rice.. then a bit of salad.. then the cucumber but now the rice is stone cold. The waiting staff were lovely, absolutely nothing wrong with the service! Unfortunately the food, portions, glassware, prices, are all way off.

The only slight disappointment with this restaurant was its location. It's literally squeezed between normal houses and sitting outside in the "garden" felt a bit awkward. Plastic "windows" felt cheap and didn't help. Having said all that I imagine sitting inside is a very different experience. Luckily when it came to food I was not disappointed. Every dish was not only tasty but also creative and memorable. I literally wanted to try everything on the menu. I'd love to be able to come back here often as I've been told the menu changes regularly. Also our waiter was very friendly and helpful and the dishes arrived very quickly. All in all I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone who likes good and creative food.

Some of the BEST food in Norwich! W&S is artfully tucked away from the main hubbub but nice & close to Norwich city centre. Whether you choose to sit inside for the buzz of the restaurant & kitchen and to enjoy the local artworks on display, or outside for a truly Summertime vibe; you cannot fail to find something to enjoy from the concise but varied menu. Tasting plates of Asian inspired dishes come thick & fast, in order of cooking, and allow your party to share and enjoy all dishes ordered which also makes for a highly sociable culinary experience. The service is friendly and professional which REALLY makes a difference for our dining experience and keeps us going back for more. The signature truffle popcorn & Guidinas are a must to nibble on. Just go and enjoy a variety of food which is decidedly different from the norm. The different combinations are a real winner with gluten free, vegan, vegetarian available to cater for a wide range of tastes.

Ok, we were confused by the reviews and when we got there we understood. It’s hard to pigeon hole this place. The simple decor, at odds with the lively constantly changing genre of music and then an unusual menu. Let me clarify that. We had never heard of many of the names, eg smacked cucumber, and after much raucous laughter and our own interpretations we settled on asking the waiter. He gave a thorough briefing. Before I go further let me say that the menu does not do any of the dishes justice. It would help if there were a description underneath the items allowing us to feel informed and knowledgeable about what we were going to eat. It would tempt the palate further. I have eaten in Michelin starred restaurant over the years, and around the world, eaten as the guest of kings and queens and let me say this…the food is exquisite. The flavours blend together in a bouquet of deliciousness. This place is truly a find. A hidden gem. The moment you start to eat, he quirkiness of the place disappears and you are transported to whichever part of the world dish that you decided upon. We ordered a range of dishes as recommended by our amiable waiter and to be honest we were stuffed. We could hardly move, and yet, because the food was SO GOOD, we just kept on eating. The chefs here, cook with their hearts. You can always tell if a chef enjoys their cooking, by their food and oh boy, we had an affair to remember. Our only gripes, and yes there were a few niggling ones, and it wasn’t with the food at all. The waiter has a tendency to throw bottles into a bottle container causing very loud smashing sounds which jar through the music, and through every conversation. It really ruins the ambience. Several others looked up when he did it (and he did it constantly), and one lady shouted out..It’s certainly a smashing experience, trying to make light of it. Stop doing that (or do so quietly) and that would be brilliant. Thank you. The next complaint we had was we chose to sit inside. It was cold outside and we thought we would be warmer inside. Wrong. The door kept being left open by the waiter (and others) so we were freezing and ate faster to leave asap. When we left, we found it much warmer ‘outside’ in the covered area due to all the heaters there. But those small niggling things (and easily fixed gripes) aside… the food is heavenly. I will be going back for more. The portion sizes are perfect, the dishes shareable (and we did share everything). All in all the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Paradise on a plate. Great blends of flavourful food that burst into the samba and dance with your taste buds, each mouthful better than the last. Important tips…don’t eat all day so you can really enjoy the experience. You need to be hungry. Wear elasticated clothes (you will need to), and plan to savour every mouthful. I can’t wait to return.

What an excellent restaurant. It’s situated on back street in Norwich where you wouldn’t imaging a restaurant to be but don’t be fooled. The food is amazing, a modern twist on British dishes, the purple sprouting broccoli was amazing, as was the mackerel, lamb and fondant potatoes. Best and most tasty food I’ve had in a long time, don’t expect simple meat and two veg….. it’s also a full sharing menu, bit like an English Tapas…

Woolf & Social provided one of the best eating experiences of my life. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and there was a feeling of exclusivity when in the restaurant. The food was truly incredible. I strongly recommend the teriyaki mushrooms and the fried chicken if it's still on the menu. I could honestly wax poetic about how great a place to eat this was, but all I'll say is I thoroughly look forwards to returning sometime soon!

Second visit and totally impressed both times. The surroundings are fairly basic, but this is all about the the food. It's incredible. So much care put into each dish. Definitely one of the best food locations in Norwich. Staff are really knowledgeable and friendly too. Will be back soon!!

Ate here with a visiting friend and we had a fantastic experience. We ordered quite a lot of the dishes on the menu and everything was wonderful. Stand out dishes included the pigeon, the cheesy potatoes and the chocolate miso brownie. The staff are lovely and helpful and there is a great atmosphere. The proximity to the equally brilliant Fat Cat is an added bonus!

Amazing food, great atmosphere and super friendly stuff. No fuss, not pretentious but they deliver with amazing food quality and great flavour combination, many options to choose from, a slightly European cafe vibe. Absolutely loved it, I can't wait to come back!

Absolutely incredible meal. Ordered everything off the menu and there wasn't a single item that we didn't like. I cannot recommend this place more. Benedict was an excellent host and so lovely. Cannot fault this place!
