The best restaurants in Lancaster South North Norfolk East of England

After a long walk on the beach we decided to go for a takeaway on our long drive home and it was possibly the best decision we made. Food was amazing! The portions were spot on (I’d say they are larger portions than I expected) and excellent value for money. Even the packaging was brilliant! We had the mixed grill, chicken pita and grilled halloumi. 100000% recommend. Best takeaway in Fakenham by miles!!!

I recently bought a pack of 4 sausage rolls from Greggs - the sausage rolls were very tasty also the staff were also polite and friendly

Pre-ordered and paid online. Just then went and collected at time stated, really nice and easy. We had fish and chips, 2x cod and 2x haddock. Fish was a really decent size, even the medium ones, large were like whales! All cooked to perfection and we demolished what we could, although we had to leave some as it beat us. Nice fish and chip shop, definitely worth a visit if in the local area. Will be back next time we are holidaying around these parts.

Visited friday with mum, main course and sweet with drink each for 3 was £62. Greenthai prawn curry excellant, fish pie, salmon fish cakes, creme brulee and cheese cake all excellant, highly reccomended, but book early as gets busy at 12.30. Top class.

Used to like the food from here then it all changed 6 months or so ago The French fries are like cardboard, the beef burgers are tough, the pizzas are so greasy it's all you can taste! The lamb donner well there ain't no lamb in that anyone tastes like a mix of turkey/chicken Seems to have hit rock bottom with the quality sadly Edit I suggest you try to eat what you cook! The pizzas are swimming in grease they taste horrible! The lamb donner tastes nothing like what it used too has a distinctive turkey/chicken taste defo not lamb

Passing through the area. Came across this fish and chip shop. Lovely clean premises. Staff were really friendly and they were having a lovely conversation regarding time off over Christmas. We just purchased a large portion of chips. They were absolutely lovely. Will be back when in the area again. Thanks Mr Chips

Rang at short notice to try for an early table and they kindly fitted me in. Lovely food and nice staff too. Went for the Chicken Panang which came in a nice rich sauce. Good sized helping too. Will be back when in the area again.

Very disappointed. Unfortunately the Red Lion has gone down hill in the last few months. Not a great choice on the menu especially if you are not keen on burgers. The portions were small and you had to order fries as extras which made it quite expensive. Will not returning anytime soon if the menu remains the same. Such a shame.

Lovely food, friendly and welcoming, fairly priced aswell

I've walked past the door of this restaurant so many times but never been inside. However, on Saturday, my boyfriend and I decided to eat here after going to the cinema. He had previously eaten here, but it was 10 years ago! I fancied Thai cuisine over somewhere like Marmaris Grill, which is another place my boyfriend had suggested getting food from, but you can only get takeaway there and can't eat in. Anyway, we were lucky to get the last table that night as all the others were booked by people in advance! The service was good and quite speedy I thought. I had roast duck Thai style with rice and my boyfriend had pork Penang curry with rice. Both dishes were tasty as my boyfriend let me try his and vice versa. Yes, the decor of the restaurant does look dated now, but I didn't mind that personally. I would recommend this place for Thai food and would like to return again or order a takeaway. I've got to say though that if you're in a wheelchair or mobility scooter or have some other walking disability, you won't be able to eat in the restaurant as it's on the first floor accessed by stairs with no lift.

Cold night.4- Outside and heating struggling to heat room.spent most of night under the covers. Bathroom cold no heating shower was electric and slow. Had to run water in tap for a minute to get hot. Such a waste of water. On the Plus side the bed was super comfy and breakfast 🥞 was surperb. Good location had to park in bridge street just around the corner for £6 24h..My Chips is in the corner and a must try. Fabulous fish and chips.. wetherspoons is just before carpark for a cheap drink. probably would come back for a summer stay. £81 included all you can eat breakfast was pretty good value. Shame about the cold.

I booked Christmas Lunch with a friend and it was terrible costing £130 plus drinks chard veg sloppy red cabbage cold soup and cold Christmas pudding and no sprouts . I sent an email put had no response. This was supposed to be a special occasion and sadly it wasn’t
