The best restaurants in Arbury North Hertfordshire East of England

Ordered tonight through uber eats. However never received order. Ordered at 6.12 Was originally meant to arrive at 7 then 710 and the time kept creeping up. They didn’t even begin making the food until near 8pm as the delivery driver contacted me letting me know as for obvious reasons he couldn’t wait much longer he then informed me they had run out of parts of our order (which will be due to the fact it was now near closing after placing our order nearly 2 hours before they closed). We then called the shop to be told pretty much 50-60% of our order was now out of stock. Note we called them to chase things up they didn’t once contact us nearly two hours after order. They were unhelpful offered no support. Gave the option to swap things for the minimal things that where left and some not being suitable for our children. I have no idea how long we would have still been waiting to find anything out if it wasn’t for the driver contacting us or us calling. Good rated a 4 as previously the food was nice.

Excellent food from Sonya and excellent service from Shauna (which I’ve probably spelt wrong) Fairly priced for the portion sizes . Friendly and helpful cleaning staff...can always grab something to eat..a welcome break from a long drive

I ordered to collect and when I arrived my order was ready to go. By the time I got home, which was over 45 mins., the burrito and churros were still warm! Flavors were spot on. 👌

Lovely chilled pub with warm open fire. Food was delicious. Really enjoyed our visit.

Lovely evening meal.... just lovely Red Lentil Curry with Chicken and Prawns...

R.I.P. my local Starbucks - this place has declined a lot recently, it’s always been a slow service and expensive, but now the staff have all been replaced with people who seemingly can’t speak or smile, can’t make a proper coffee and spend more time serving the Uber Eats/Deliveroo drivers. I might as well be ordering my cortado in my local corner shop. This is not Starbucks, it’s a motorway services coffee shop. Go to the Costa over the road where the staff actually speak to you and the atmosphere is at least one of care and welcome.

First visit to The Jester... Friendly welcome. Quick & efficient service. Food: Superb roast, a well presented hearty plate. Chicken stuffed with spinach, roasties, Yorkshire pudding with vegetables on the side. My partner had the Roast Pork which was equally tasty. Honey comb cheesecake didn’t touch the sides! A delight not to have to cook Sunday lunch, thank you all. We will be back 🙂

The best steak I’ve eaten! Martin and his team are amazing as ever, from the friendly service to the delicious food. It truly was the tastiest steak I’ve eaten…and as a table of 5 with 4 steaks wanting to be cooked differently, ever steak was perfect. Thoroughly recommended!

Speedy delivery and friendly staff

Always great service and lovely hot food. Fish bites are delicious and the portion sizes are fab!

Excellent service. We arrived close to last orders for food but were welcomed warmly after being turned away from the other local food establishment, the Bushel and Strike. This was despite us having a drink there for over an hour and a table next to us was not frequented the whole time. The staff and the 3 tuns were welcoming, attentive and Harley was particularly fab.
