Starbucks Coffee in North Hertfordshire

Terrible customer service. 4 or 5 people stood awaiting their orders and three members of staff behind the counter, so not busy at all. I stood at the tills for about three minutes and was not even acknowledged. Walked out and went elsewhere.

Often out of certain milks and food especially at weekends

The slowest service excuses that machine is not working 2 staff even with both machines working it’s dreadfully slow Rather just close and get it operational The coffee is great and it’s my daily treat just sucks having to wait so long

Paper cups again! This has been going on here for years Starbucks. Not good enough - get your act together. And today no napkins. Luckily we had some Costa ones from yesterday.

Terrible. Ordered online and still waited for ages, had to ask for my coffee and they didn't have the beans I ordered - why was this not updated on the app?

Great place to practice your queuing

Wow, what an experience. We waited for ages only to find that our drink had been left on the side, no one had called out to us to say it was there. We tried to finish our tea with sugar and milk but there was no sugar. We asked 'do you have some more sugar' and the woman said no, no apology just 'no' We then had to ask for milk as there was no milk out to use and we were not asked if we wanted milk in the tea when ordering. It's crazy that there's nutmeg and chocolate readily available as well as different coloured pencils to write your name on your cup? But no basic things to complete your tea like milk and sugar. I find it hard to believe that they had run out of sugar. The people serving are very miserable and not friendly. Definitely sticking to Costa.

I would avoid this place if you can. I came here not long ago, there was a guy serving and I wanted to order a Frappuccino, and he said they aren’t serving any cold drinks because they have no ice!!?? I was annoyed because I drove all that way to get a coffee to be told apparently “there isn’t any ice” in a COFFEE SHOP. I walk out and order a Frappuccino on the Starbucks app, go back into the shop and what a surprise there’s a Frappuccino waiting for me. Just lazy staff that didn’t want to make one drink so they would have to clean up, bad experience I avoid this Starbucks.

Pleasant enough staff, but literally the SLOWEST service ever. There were 10 people waiting for drinks, and no haste being exhibited by anyone! Having a lovely time and chatting… but not worried about actually serving people. Yikes.

Rude staff, be prepared to wait half an hour for a drink. Save your time and go to greggs.

Only really visit Starbucks for eggnog latte lol

Quick service, plenty of seating both inside and out.

Untidy with dirty tables. Last 2 times I've gone,no ice available or blened drinks. No hot water the time after.

Visit quite often on our way out somewhere. On the whole, no issues. But there have been a number of recurring instances where staff just can't be bothered for customers. Simple questions get mistaken for accusations or dismissed without thought or care. Also, there is a bit of a lack of urgency. When service picks up, the staff do not. It can often feel like they can't be bothered being there. Perhaps a motivational opportunity for management who, upon last visit, openly admitted not being present enough on site.

As a longtime Starbucks customer, I have always held your brand in high regard for its quality and consistency. However, my recent experience has left me questioning whether that trust was misplaced. To begin with, the coffee was more expensive than I had anticipated. While I understand that premium products can command a higher price, I firmly believe that quality should match the cost. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this instance. Not only was the coffee overpriced, but the quality was also subpar. The temperature was too high, making it impossible to enjoy the drink without risking a burnt tongue. The milk, which should have been frothy and smooth, was anything but. The absence of frothiness made the coffee unappealing and negatively impacted its taste. This disappointing experience has left me questioning the value I have previously associated with your brand. I am discouraged to think that Starbucks, once synonymous with exceptional coffee, may no longer deliver on its promise of quality and consistency

Good Starbucks at Baldock services just off A1. There's an outside seating area for when the weather is clement.

A huge thank you to Sean and the Starbucks team on Friday night 2/12. My husband and I. We were waiting for AA relay truck for the third leg of a long journey from Heathrow to take us back to Derbyshire (car had had catalytic converter stolen whilst we were on holiday). We had had very little sleep after a long haul fight and we’re desperate do you get ourselves and our car back to Derbyshire. Sean kept us supplied with coffee for the journey home. Thank you once again for accommodating us in Starbucks you really are kind people and it doesn’t take much more than a coffee and a smile sometimes to support people when life goes a curved ball. Keep up the good work

Doesn’t participate in the Starbucks loyalty scheme and a med cappuccino costs nearly £4!! (The Starbucks up the road charges £3.30)

4 young ladies working quickly and efficiently through large queues of customers. So rare to see good work ethic especially since covid.

Was ok, service a little slow but drinks were ok.

Good coffee, but painfully slow service. Even when there are only a couple of people ahead of you, you're guaranteed to wait at least 10 minutes. Update: the service seems to have improved recently. I didn't have to wait long at all for the coffee to come out.

For a service station coffee shop this Starbucks is very good, prices are slightly inflated but not as much as at the Costa at Peterborough Services. It was relatively quiet when I visited, so service was fairly quick. Coffee tasted fine, have had better from Starbucks though.

Great Services, has great array of refreshments, from Starbucks Coffee, where I go to get my coffee on the move with a friendly service everytime ,and a food hall from McDonald's to Mexican alot more . Starbucks is main stop and has everything from seating indoor and outdoor a long with food and everything you expect from Starbucks 👍

I had a reward to cash in and was told because it was a franchise that they didn't give a drink as a reward. This gives starbucks a bad name. Definitely will not be giving this franchise any more of my money. Go elsewhere if you can....like Costa!

Usually a great experience n busy as always however the young man at the tills was lovely and trying his best to keep up while Mahdien spent an abnormal amount of time on phone calls while making the drinks.

It's coffee does exactly what it needs too, sometimes has quite a queue but depends on what time of day you go

I think the milk was put in my tea before the water as even after dunking the tea bag for several minutes the tea was still very pale. Otherwise it was lovely sitting outside and the staff are very friendly.

Under the circumstances due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service received and the level of comfortable seating was as good as could be expected.

Just started coming back in after 4 years .New manager and staff the same ,This has gone back up to where it should be. Great coffee and staff very good as before> The new manager is the perfect addition to the team . Although the COVID has closed many places this just as it should be slowly old customers are coming back hopefully they be back in droves as place open and people start moving about. It's a pleasure to give a good report after so long away hopefully many more to come. Don't forget 25p off if you bring your own cup it's better for you and the environment 10/10

Super slow service was slightly annoying but forgivable. However, the sweetened oat milk (website says Oatly) wasn't. Undrinkable.

Customers are not wearing masks while waiting for their coffee, which is currently a requirement. It’s dangerous and irresponsible. I’m not going to be coming back.

I think this place is pretty decent. I just don't get why during COVID no one takes a name for your order anymore. Seems mental. Particularly with how busy the place gets.

Had the spiced pumpkin latte. Was delicious. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Only visited because it is the only option for reasonable coffee.Like most Starbucks the interior colour is very depressing. Most people do 'Take away' but we like to sit down and relax for 15 mins out of our journey just like you can at Costa!!!

Not good. The main issue was dirty and uncleared tables, despite there being very few people seated indoors. Quite ironic to be clearing mess from the Track and Trace stickers really. We needed some cutlery with what we ordered, so asked for some. When given our food we asked if it was in the bags and they confirmed it was. It wasn't. We asked about it, and they told us they're understaffed.

I visited this Starbucks yesterday (Sunday 9th August 2020) and just like the last time I visited it was a bad experience. I was only second in line and yet after making my order it took 15 minutes for my drink to be made. Once I received my drink (which was awfully made) I requested a straw as I struggle to drink without one and the member of staff was very patronising and decided to show me how to drink from the new cups without a straw. I said I would still like a straw and it got thrown on the counter and as I was taking the lid off to use the straw I was rudely directed to the bin. I am really not happy with the service at this Starbucks, last time I visited my matcha latte was a cup of milk with big round chunks of matcha powder. The staff at this store need further training on both customer service AND how to make the drink offered on the menu. Staff spends too long chatting behind the counter and complaining about their shifts instead of doing their job. If I decide to pay almost £5 for a drink I expect it to be made properly and for it to be served with a smile.

Under the Covid circumstances really well laid out. Concerned when the winter kicks in where everyone will sit.

Used to be a great store, now lacks the staff warmth, prices are to high and is just another coffee shop.

Great Breakfast options if - like me - you arrived at the Services 5 minutes too late for a McDonald's breakfast. Scrambled Eggs with Spinach and Roasted Cherry Tomatoes was lovely. Very tasty and a satisfying breakfast.

Handy for a nature stop. Very noisy inside with klaxons going off continuously. Bought sausage rolls at Gregg's as the queue for McDonalds was lengthy. Others choices of food available also.
