Beautiful pub on any day! The staff were super friendly, the place is very cute and quaint. Great selection of drinks. We didn't eat here, but I definitely would after my first visit.

Fantastic Traditional Pub. Wonderfully welcoming staff and a great atmosphere hence it’s always busy! Food is usually good too. The Landlady is extremely creative and innovative with the seasonal entertainment and decor. Most are longterm staff and they can never do enough for you. Always cheerful and sociable making you feel very comfortable. Fantastic 2 for 1 meals on certain evenings Burger night Pie night Curry night. Great money saving evenings for 2 or save one of the meals to take away for the next day! Friendliest pub around. Great value for money and fantastic atmosphere!

This was our first visit to the Waggon and Horses and we will definitely be returning! We had a large party of 7 to accommodate and the team were more than helpful when we booked tables for lunch. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, with a gorgeous outdoor seating area if you prefer open air dining. The menu was extensive and every meal we ordered was beautifully presented and arrived together for the whole table. The food was delicious and we could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you to the team for such a lovely family lunch. We will certainly return again soon.

Prices increased since last visit.

Popped in during a weekday for dinner and have a lovely meal. The menu had a good variety of different meals available and they had several ‘specials of the day’ to choose from. The staff (Molly, Brooke and Dylan) were very helpful, friendly and efficient with all the orders for food and drink.

Great evening with a number of work colleagues We use this pub every 3/4 months and have been for a number of years - allways good Tina was great tonight and somehow managed to conjure up some syrup pudding albeit it was off the menu - that’s service

I came in tonight for a drink after work at another pub and my experience was so lovely! Cath and Lauren were so lovely and bubbly and inviting you'd think I'd been a regular for years! Everything was so tidy and clean and organised but it still had that great, cozy, local pub experience so, even after a long day at work at another pub, I really got that wind-down I was looking for. 10/10 would definitely visit again!

The Waggon accommodated a large group of us, ordering separately, sitting all over the place (both bars & garden) and the atmosphere, food and entire experience could not have been better. What a great team they have!

Always amazing but bad day yesterday for Sunday lunch. The two reserved roast lamb were beef with slice of lamb on top. No mint sauce available. Yorkshire puds very crispy. Custard in jug hadn't been heated. No ice cream for children. Disappointing day but hopefully a one off. Will go again.

Lovely pub with a large outside garden with memorable views in historic Graveley. We were a group of 6 with 2 elderly people who struggle to walk. Staff were great and very accommodating. We had reserved a table inside as the oldies couldn't manage the steps outside. We were warned food would take 30 mins to prepare, and that was OK for us, but had we arrived later than 12:30 maybe the wait would have been too long. When the food arrived it was a tad disappointing. Cooked veg (carrots) were overdone, quiche portion was about half what we were expecting, and its side salad uninteresting. Liver & bacon nothing special, but baked potato was good as was the veg lasagne and whitefish fried starter (chosen and served as a main). Food server was attentive but not intrusive (they were busy and worked hard).

I have visited many times before, and to be honest this was the first time I have had such an awful meal, I ordered the Hunters Chicken which comes with chunky chips, Coleslaw and a salad garnish, the chips were under cooked and soggy the Coleslaw tasted old and the chicken was floating in a watery liquid the whole meal was revolting, I am sorry to leave a bad review but I feel the standards have definitely slipped

Popped in on the off chance of getting a table on our way back from the Fruit Farm .The staff were very friendly and accommodating given how busy they were . We were warned there was a little wait for food , which wasn’t long at all and when it arrived the food was absolutely delicious, the portion size was very generous and beautifully fresh and well presented ! Cost was very surprising too , very reasonably priced which makes a refreshing change . The place also felt very cosy and welcoming , would definitely recommend! 👍

Booked on quiz night which we know is busy but despite lots of really good ‘pub grub’ meals in the past , it was sub standard this time I’m afraid . The steak and kidney pie was visibly burnt (black pastry!) and sirloin steak undercooked. Yes , it could have been sent back but then you have the issue of meals coming out at different times. Also , the new menu appears to have increased prices which is understood , but the food should be cooked to order and not burnt! We’ll return in the hope this was a ‘one off’.

I could not fault this pub! The welcoming space and decor gives the pub a lovely family friendly feel that is definitely matched inside by the lovely staff. The service is second to none, with the bar staff and managers taking the time and care to help whereever they can. Service is always with a smile and the food is great. This pub has become our Wednesday local after choir practise and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else, straight from the get go they were so accommodating and friendly as if we had been going there for years The bar staff; especially Katie and Ben are such lovely people, remember people's orders and always listening to our crazy stories of the week. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants a locally small family run pub but that still offers the high end top quality of somewhere that is a massive chain Amazing guys - don't change

I took my mum here yesterday for her birthday. We love a Sunday roast and they do the best roast around, by far! We are always disappointed when we go anywhere else! We got the table by the fire and food was amazing as always! They even brought out dessert with a candle, for mum ☺️ Thank you!

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch at the wagon and horses. Friendly staff and a very busy pub so you have to book. Back there in two weeks for a birthday dinner, which I’m very much looking forward to.

When booking a table in the resturant I would prefer to be able to order at the table rather than having to go to the bar.

Amazing food, great service and such a lovely pub and atmosphere. Shared a three course meal with my dad for the fish and seafood night and it was lovely. The Main Menu there is also great. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again!

I frequently use the waggon and horses for a lovely pub meal out, however there deals are so worth it ! Tonight we had the curry’s and I must say the RedThai prawn was the best one yet ! £11.95 for two curry’s, rice and naan bread, what a bargain and tasty too ! Very happy and will definitely be coming back.

The welcome by Amy & Dean and all the customer focused team is first Class. The genuine welcome and attentive service from Bobbie, Brook, Molly, Katie, Lisa, Michelle, Ben and Lauren deliver a “proper” free house welcome. The selection of quality beers on tap, a menu that delivers a culinary “wow” is consistently delivered with excellence. The regulars that have become friends epitomise the atmosphere of a genuine atmosphere. The place is a hidden gem.

The waggon & horses is definitely worth the visit, good atmosphere, lovely people and an all round great pub. Top beers, Prices are great, foods even better. With there deals on Monday burger night, curry night on Tuesday ( prawn red Thai curry one is the best), fish and chips Wednesday and pie and pud on Friday. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Last minute booking and was not disappointed. The portions were plenty and the food was really tasty. Vibrant atmosphere and the ladies worked so hard.. definetly recommend

First time visiting the pub and I can say it was a brilliant experience. The atmosphere is really lovely, food is just AMAZING and the staff super friendly and polite. Overall, it was a great evening and I will definitely go back soon.

My friends and I meet once a month here for Sunday lunch, ( have been for at least 10 years). Cosy atmosphere and a lovely fire in the colder months. In the summer live music on the terrace over looking a huge pond. Food delicious all year year. We try and sneak in a mid week in the summer too for a leisurely catch up and a light lunch. Everything on the menu is fantastic. Served by welcoming atmosphere and fantastic staff.

The Waggon and Horses hosted the Graveley Cricket Club annual awards evening, putting on a superb event. The food, service and organisation were excellent. We would highly recommend The Waggon for food, drinks and events, a great pub!

Best pub in Hitchin ... A must go for a very friendly pub visit, fabulous staff great beer and really great food in the beautiful village of Graveley. They even offer takeaways and loved their new buffalo wings on the menu!

Excellent choice of meals served hot a d freshly cooked. This was our first visit having been let down by the one we normally use. Have decided as a family to make this our first choice of pubs to go to as choice food and costs were better

Past meals on normal menu are usually great Been for Xmas Dinner 2023. It was passable nothing special. No christmas music . Very salty gravy. Over top lemon flavour cheesecake. And 3 tiny bits of toast to go with a lump of pate. Was also a bit disappointed as we had to leave our meal to get another drink as waitress asked us to go to bar to get another drink rather than her bring one. However other people had waitress bring extra drinks to table. It really didn't feel worth £35 a head. Shame as usual menu is good

Had a wonderful meet up with our old neighbours who had moved to Devon. Food and service good as always, pies especially tasty. Could do with a little more room between tables but always full. Probably be even more difficult to get a late booking now after this review!

Food was excellent and for just the Christmas spirit alone you have to see the decorations. We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed.

Amazed this place is still open with such poor service and food. I had a poor meal here about 6 months ago where they managed to mess up a chicken burger.. however a family event led me here again today.. Pre ordered food arrived within 3 seconds of sitting down - we were told in advance we could order starters on the day.. apparently not. Then with our food already on the table we were told by a sniggering millennial that all drinks had to be ordered at the bar - 10 minutes later we get to the front of the queue and we get further scoffed at. Return to our now cold food and discover that the beef burger is literally a burger between two buns.. I didn’t want to risk a chicken burger again but thought a beef burger would be slightly more involved than a patte and two pieces of bread. No offer of sauces, food cleared up whilst half of us are still eating.. if you want another drink up you go to the bar and hopefully one of the kids will serve you. Even paying them was a trauma. All in all service is nowhere near good enough and food leaves a lot to be desired. In this day and age and with so much quality competition locally I’m amazed this place survives. They won’t get a third chance from me.

It's been some time since we visited this pub. We were not disappointed. It's very popular so booking is advisable. We went for three courses from the extensive menus including specials. Filo prawns and breaded mushrooms followed by chicken and ham pie and Barnsley chop...

Fabulous Ploughman’s that both me and my husband had today. Plenty of Ham & Cheese with a large salad and hot baguettes.

Tried the steak pie today delicious ,hot and portion was more than enough. Thanks to the staff for an enjoyable lunch. Would highly recommend the Waggon

We chose this venue for a birthday party for 18 guests at the end of October and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The added bonus of a Halloween disco made the party go...

Went tonight 26th oct. My hubbys birthday. The food was amazing but so much im sorry i couldnt eat it all. Staff lovely and friendly. Highly recommend to visit . Will be going back again for sure.
