On Monday 30th September I met up with friends as an ideal place between where we live. We enjoyed a relaxed brunch , the chef was very accommodating for particular dietary requirements. It gradually became busy towards lunchtime. But we were not rushed and all staff were friendly and obliging. The whole place has been extended over the years. Which means there is such a variety of things to browse and buy. Well worth a visit. Brilliant fruit and veg display. So nice not to have plastic containers.

This is a great farm shop/garden centre. Even leaving aside the soft play which has a decent sensory room and a really awesome outdoors beach area (open seasonally), and the café, this farm shop and seasonal pick your own is excellent. Shop has Kohlrabi and Victoria plums, two varieties I always struggle to find elsewhere, as well as the standard veg and fruit, with a lot of it grown locally (Cam valley farms). Shop asleep sells really nice gifts and cards, esp for children, has a meat counter and I think another deli type counter. There are garden tools and plants for sale in other areas of the building. Finally the pick your own operation runs through the shop and having used it I think the pyo quality is high, you just need to bring along secateurs for the dahlias, otherwise you have to buy scissors or the like, which they are happy to sell you. Nb disabled access is good, though I've only used the disabled toilets in the soft play, which were great. Disability discounts in the soft play on request. There is a loyalty card for the farm shop and cafe with stamps for every £25 spent.

There has been some thought and care put into this restaurant and , in my view, they've got a lot right. On the plus side, the food offerening is decent, if a bit slow, the waiting staff were very good (working in a madly busy environment), the appearance of the resturant was pleasing, and it was great to get things like jam and cream in small dishes, as opposed to being served minimal portions from pre-packaged plastic containers. Also, if you are there for coffee and cakes, they have a nice selection to choose from. Well done to the owners on all of those fronts. Where the restaurant falls down badly - enough to make my return unlikely - is that if you go on a day where there are lots of young mothers and kids, it takes on the acoustic feel of a monkey house/school canteen. It's hellishly noisy, and if you want to have a converstaion you certainly have to raise your voice. The issue is that the restaurant is pretty large and serves lots of people. The sound bounces of all the walls and there is plenty of it. If I owned the restuarant I would experiment with acoustic dividing boards between the nicely padded bench seats that they have, and some acoustic boards on the walls. I do like the look and feel of the place, but I was very glad to get out because of the noise. How the waiting staff deal with it every day beats me, they must get exhausted.

On our way to Cambridge, we stopped at this beautiful farm shop which had almost everything. The cafe was beautiful and we ordered jacket potato with cheese and salad which was very delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Also, we experiences picking our own Dahlias there. We had to but our scissors before picking our flowers. So I would recommend taking your own scissors before visiting this place. Also the market was very big and had everything. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed our visit to this farm shop. Highly recommended 10/10

It shouldn’t take 20 minutes to get a coffee and a bit of cake. Ignored when we stood at the ‘Please wait here sign.’ A group of people with no clear leader. The food looked good but the service is slow and doesn’t work. Consider looking at the set up they have at Scotsdales where customers are allocated a table, then collect their drinks and order food. That way they have something to drink whilst they wait. It’s a shame..

I took my little girl here after enjoying the PYO season. First thing that I found a little odd was that it is table service. In a cafe? Anyway we have it a go. Anyone with a young and inpatient child may be slightly put off by table service however I am happy to say that the service was extremely speedy. Unfortunately the prices are just really extreme for me. It's a gorgeous shop and cafe with great facilities but the mark up is really out there on some of the items. I'd recommend it for maybe a coffee rather than a full sit down meal because it's going to hurt your pockets!

We visited Bury Lane Farm this weekend to have a spot of breakfast in the cafe which was scrumptious. I went for the fresh salmon and scrambled eggs on sourdough which was cooked perfectly. Refreshed and satisfied we ventured over to the pick your own peony field. The field was a spectacular view with row upon row of exquisite blooms. There were serval different varieties of peonies with a mixture of colours from delicate white and soft pale pink to cerise pink - it was a breathtaking view. The perfume from the peonies was also a real delight creating a peaceful atmosphere. The staff member was really informative and friendly. The price of the cut peonies were reasonable and the wasn't an admission fee to the field so if you just wanted to take a few photos and enjoy the field you were more than welcome to. I recently visited Bury Lane Farm Shop and had a wonderful experience picking our own peony flowers. The farm shop is beautifully maintained, with a wide variety of fresh produce, local goods, and delightful treats. However, the highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the "pick your own peonies" activity. The peony fields were stunning, with vibrant colors and a sweet fragrance filling the air. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with all the tools and guidance needed to pick the perfect blooms. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, perfect for a sunny day out. After picking our flowers, we explored the rest of the farm shop and were impressed by the selection of artisanal products and the charming café. We enjoyed some delicious homemade treats and coffee, making it a complete day out. Overall, Bury Lane Farm Shop offers a fantastic combination of a charming retail experience and delightful outdoor activities. We highly recommend visiting, especially during peony season!

Swung by this café for lunch on a sunny weekend after browsing the garden centre. Managed to find a free table - although it was still dirty from the previous occupants. Sadly, the waitress who took our order was quite abrupt and didn’t offer to clean the table. Menu had plenty to choose from and all looked reasonably priced. Both of us ordered the Mixed Ploughman’s with ham, cheddar and sourdough bread. The portions were huge; a real bargain for only £11! We enjoyed everything except the bread, which was a little dry. Overall I’d say the food was good enough to make up for the lacklustre service so we’d come back in future. If management are reading this, then I would stop the servers from hovering together behind the counter and ensure they’re out on the café floor, checking on customers and cleaning tables etc. Fingers crossed for next time!

Quite disappointed as we went there just for tulip tapping, my little girl was excited with her bag packed with a scissor in it for tulips . When reached they said its closed for the season and there is no information about it on the website. They should update the website, if its closed and tickets are non refundable. Complete waste of the day. ********************************* As ,I am unable to reply to the response by the owner of Bury Lane Fun Barn.I am editing my initial review to add the response. -First of all ,thanks for replying. I hope you also spend time editing your webpage with the up-to-date info as well. As on until the day of our visit we haven't seen any updates on tulip closures on the booking web page. I agree now as I have seen the information for tulip closing was made on Fb page in advance. But ,just to let you know that not everyone is on Fb or Insta. I am myself a computer engineer ,but don't have time to follow fb pages for each places we would like to visit. We opened the webpage and there wasn't anything there about tulips being closed and we made the booking. So, please keep this in mind that the business webpage should always be updated with any changes. Suggestion, I have seen at many business that you can add on your webpage that your fb/Insta pages are always updated , so please check them regularly. On ticketing, as we (6 families) arrived with 8 kids, Main reason tulip tapping, there wasn't any reason they will not play in the soft play center, so we have to buy the tickets. But if we knew there weren't any tulips (as we couldn't manage to get tickets for Norfolk tulips) we would have thought or planned differently. I hope you understand how you feel when you plan for something and on a surprise find something else just due to lack of proper communication. We been to fun barn 2 times before also and loved it always.

This review relates to the cafe. I have been coming here for years, and the food has always been great. But unfortunately since the additional seating has been added time and time again we have had issues with service. It's a classic case of being greedy and craming as many customers in as possible, but not having sufficient system in place to cope with the amount of covers. We ordered 2 Jacket potatoes a pancake stack and scampi and chips , we waited an hour for the food. There were a number of customers in the same boat. It's simple maths, if your customers have to wait longer than 15 minutes for there food then there is a serious problem, either the kitchen staff are not experienced enough or there just simply letting to many people in. Again the food was lovely when it arrived, but an hour wait is far to long

Ive always quite like Bury Lane farm shop but I went in on Saturday 23rd with a friend and went to the restaurant for a cuppa tea, and was quite disappointed, we didn't want much so had a bowl of chips to pick at while chatting, which meant we needed to use the condiment boxes on the table, if you can call it that. These had not been checked in a while, sauce sachets there was 1 vinegar and 1 mustard and some rubbish, so had to go table to table, finally found a bottle of ketchup and when we took of the lid it was pretty discusting around the top and inside the lid. Quite a basic requirement I would say. There was also a lot of uncleared and dirty tables which is so off putting.

My sisters and I wanted to take mum, somewhere local to her, for brunch on mother’s day so a couple of weeks ahead I called to reserve a table (as suggested on the website for larger groups or if travelling a distance - I live a 90 minute drive away) I was told that I definitely didn’t need to reserve a table for 10.30 am as that’s when they opened - even though it was Mothers Day and I had to insist quite hard that if they could reserve a table I would appreciate it and very reluctantly my name was written in the book. I am very glad that I had that ‘fight’ on the phone as we arrived at 10.20 and the cafe was already incredibly full. By 10.45 there was a queue of people waiting for tables. It feels like there is an opportunity for better customer service, it shouldn’t be that difficult to deal with a business. The service this morning was friendly and efficient. We ordered hot and cold drinks and all of us decided to have the pancakes with bacon & maple syrup. The drinks arrived quickly considering they were so busy. The food took a while which was not a problem at all. However, we were all disappointed with the bacon. It looked raw on the plate and had been microwaved (I hope - as I did eat mine!) It didn’t look or smell at all appetising and 3/4 of us didn’t eat theirs. One of my sisters has colitis and she just felt she couldn’t risk eating it given that it looked so raw. There were breakfasts going out left right and centre this morning and I can’t believe that all the bacon was cooked like this. Very disappointing. Had the cafe not been so busy we would have checked with the server but we were hungry and the pancakes were edible so we cracked on.

Unfortunately this is our second time coming, the first time was bad but we decided to give it a second chance. However, this time was as bad as the first. They had run out of all of the food, every time I went to order something I was told it was unavailable. This should be mentioned when seated so customers are aware they can’t order what they want. We finally found something available. The 2 tables either side of us were very disappointed also and one left due to this. Our food took a while to come (jacket potato) and one was missing the cheese. There was a massive Que and the staff wouldn’t come over when we tried to get their attention so it took 10 minutes to be able to get someone’s attention. By the time the food came back the other one was cold. Overall a very bad experience. Last time we visited we ordered baguettes and were bought out sandwiches, we corrected them for them to tell us they had run out. Yet we were never told. Very disappointing both times and won’t be returning.

The tables were dirty, some of the waiting staff were clueless as to what to do first and when they did attempt to clean, they just flicked food remnants onto the chairs and even then didn't clean the entire table top. More worryingly, by chance our table was moved slightly to allow someone to get past. This showed the disgustedly dirty floor where the table had been. There were food remnants from who know when as well as general dirt beneath. For a food establishment this is totally unacceptable and showed a general lack of understanding of food hygiene standards by all staff including any supervisory or managerial.

Definitely gone down hill, the food was nice , but they missed of some of what we ordered, I did ask for it to be bought to us asap, never arrived. It's really dirty, needs a really good freshen up, don't know who cleans but they should be sacked, the window is filthy, covered in cobwebs. Bought some beef from the butchers, lovely staff always friendly. Bought some new china cups, was told by a very miserable young lady I could get a box, her exact works. Not sure who manages this place but they need to spend some time there, maybe do something staff training.

Come here all the time. It's like a home from home. All the staff are brilliant, the kids love it and get spoilt and treated like royalty by the team. Jordan is brilliant with the little ones. Nicky runs a fantastic boozer and there's something for everyone. Wether it's dinner with the family or just a few pints with your pals this is my go to place for every occasion. Thanks for looming after us and making us feel so welcome every time!

Paying performers would be a nice idea instead of misleading and then ghosting them. They did the work. Pay them. Simple.

Earlier today I dropped my dog at the Groomer in Vanstone Parks Garden Centre, my car to the car wash guys then went into the cafe after a look around the garden centre. It was just after noon. I ordered an omelette with salad and crisps with a pot of tea. Paid for my order and sat outside with my plant pot which had my order number on. The waitress came out with a pot of tea, going well so far! When the waitress brought my order it was an omelette on a rather large plate! I asked where the salad was and was advised this it the breakfast menu, you don’t get anything with it then walked away. I thought I’d read the menu incorrectly until the lady who also sat outside was served an omelette with enough salad you could say it had its own garden! What a pity the service wasn’t a patch on it as when the previous owners/ managers ran the Orchard Cafe. The Groomer did a lovely job on my dog and the car valets made my car sparkle. Just been let down by the cafe’ won’t be going there again

Excellent roast dinners, the lamb shank was beautiful! Just completely fell of the bone! Nothing was too much trouble for Kayleigh, she really made it special for us, highly recommend
