Costa Coffee in North Hertfordshire

STaff are nice if you spin this weel for a pound you can win a drink or a cake or marshmellow or no win

I came here yesterday and honestly I was so taken back by the staffs understanding or my situation. I wasn't aware at that point it was cash only. I walked in knowing what I wanted and unfortunately I'm type 1 diabetic (on insulin if your wondering) the guy immediately offered to give me the items I needed for free without creating a panic in my head. I am so thankfully for your help and understanding 🥰

I been costumer of costa coffe over 10year never ever had issues with coffe ,today I went in Lechworth costa drive thru where there was the girl called Charlotte I asked her for cortado warm not to hot as the staff hire make coffe very very hot,she make it quickly and I tested coffe in front of her I complained about temperature of coffe she start being very rud telling me I refuse to make another coffe for you when as coroner I’m right and we pay for what u get ,I refund my money back and I went out ,Behaviour very bad costumer cervice very rude unprofessional staff need to be trained specific on costumer service ,Charlotte very rude girl she told me she is menager ,even trying to contact costumer vervice ,people like her can’t have job .

Staff need to be aware that they can be heard when insulting customers waiting at the drive through. Coffee wasn't bad though.

The usual Costa coffee shop. Clean and tidy and the staff work well in keeping tables clean. Quick service with a smile. Prices are what you expect but the medium size drinks are a good size.

I visited here early Friday, just before a rush. The customer in front of me had a latte, with latte there is a shot left over, this is normally waste. I asked for medium black Americano, should be 3 shots as far as I know, the guy behind the counter saw the queue and just chucked that single waste shot in my cup. No freshly pulled espresso in my drink that morning, just a weak cup of waste basically. Luckily I was just visiting the area so I will never go back. Writing this has mad me angry again, so you were getting 2 *, now only 1* 😤

Haven't eat, but must by as usual decent snacks.

Closed more than its open. Like to grab a coffee before work but it seems to be closed with no notice on the door or anything. Will have to find somewhere else.

An absolute fantastic place to go for a beverage and or snacks. Lunch. or a breakfast bap. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can eat and drink in or have a takeaway. My favourite place to be.

Went in to ask about the TooGoodToGo bags before purchasing to see if they could make us one up that was veggie as we don’t eat meat. Was just given a ‘computer says no’ type answer and refused. That tough to put a couple of veggie sandwiches rather than ham? Really helpful! The Hatfield Galleria branch were much more helpful about this a few weeks ago!

Quite dirty inside like all the Costas unfortunately

An hour before closing and seemed an effort to serve me, limited food choice and drink not as described online. Friendly enough but personally not over impressed.

Nice coffee, decent cake and nice staff, it's the only place open past 1600 within walking distance of Baldock for a sit down coffee so I would definitely recommend if you're looking to meet up and not meet up in a pub, they close at 8pm.

Cappuccino wasn't too bad. The main issue is the boards still advertising drinks that aren't even available anymore... Generally untidy, could argue its the lazy general public however! Food is overpriced for what it is, but that's Costa in general. Stars for good staff however 👍🏻

I still don't understand why this company is such a well known coffee shop chain when their coffee is so dull. They have a selection of all sorts of tea, but only one choice of coffee, albeit served in different ways. Consequently I always opt for a tea or one of their delicious coolers, which are excellent. And their selection of cakes, despite being a little on the pricey side, always offer something nice

Had the best coffeee made by this guy called joe and the best coffee i ever had in letchworth costa, really made my day as im very picky coffee drinker

I had a Flat White was a really good one but downside everytime I go in dirty everywhere tables not cleared crumbs n food all over seats and down side of chairs and food on floor I appreciate busy dealing with drive thru to but it is off putting but the young lady that served me was lovely wasn't her fault.

They all pretty the same. Not sure what the fuss is about.

Popped in for a quick coffee was a bit disappointed as there were hardly any cakes to buy they had been put away ready for closing my husband had a cinaman swirl but it was very dry, both our drinks were really not hot enough even though we had asked for extra hot. Costa needs to up it's game at this place.

Service VERY slow. 7 people waiting. One barista doing one order at a time so when an order was wrong there was no overlap.

Unfortunately it seems their quality of bacon baps have gone down as well as taking away the option for lactofree milk :( I had to throw away 2 separate bacon baps as the bacon looked like it had been barely cooked. I used to love going there for my hot chocolates but since they took out the option of having lactofree, I can no longer have it, as well as hundreds like me which cannot have any of the other options available.

Particularly good if you like coffee.

Waited in a queue of 8 people for 20 mins. Very slow service and tepid coffee. Shame.

Sometimes they have good service but most of the time the staff look miserable and not very friendly. I've had to ask a few times for my coffee to be extra hot because the coffee has always been luke warm. I've had better service from other costa's. Just a shame my local isn't better

Staff uninterested, looked board not very welcoming 😕. Coffee good though.

Very poor quality service staff to busy chatting to there friends than serving customers. Tables where dirty and a deep clean needed all around the food counters. Bins outside are always full. Will not be returning to this costa.

It's nice, but a tad noisy for working.

The service was so so slow and poor although the staff were polite. The coffees were meh had better at home. The tables were full of detritus and handprints over screens and windows. The lemon muffin however was delicious. Would I visit again? No. The wait is not worth the lemon muffin

In for a coffee and quick meeting with my boss, prompt service, nice coffee, wasn't too busy.

Little to chose from for GF. Tables dirty. Toilets smelt. Not a great experience.

Good atmosphere as usual. Easy parking. Plenty of seating, including outside for nice days.

Reall nice Costa spacious with good customer service.

It's Costa. You know the products, but for a chain coffee shop the staff are superb. Helpful, competent and friendly. Great Costa.

I just took some time out from Crazy, and sat still with a hot chocolate and close company. Its a really nice calm location, but that hot chocolate was the Best so far. Defo doing that again...

Love this costa I take my 3 children the last school day of every month for a costa breakfast treat and the staff are amazing always so helpful and polite.

Nice new Costa and the staff are always friendly here, the drive thru is busy alot in the mornings from about 8am until about 11 but you have to expect it at these times ,its great coffee here better than many other costas, nice and always hot, also good toast and porridge for the early mornings with your large skinny latte.highly recommended this place is☕☕☕☕

A handily placed branch of Costa. Not my favourite brand of coffee but the filter coffee, when they have it on the go, is really pretty decent. And a bargain at £1.

Spent ages at the drive thru ordering, half of what we wanted wasn’t in stock, and every item I had to repeat multiple times as she couldn’t hear, ending up putting someone else on who took the order straight away, only for the food to be wrong and serving dairy to someone who ordered vegan/dairy free!!

Really enjoyed the nice coffee and great atmosphere, parking right outside, loved it. Staff great.

Wonderful service, I'm need a gluten free diet which makes things awkward when choosing a cake but they went above and beyond. Thanknyou very much.

Was disappointed that when I asked if they had any gluten free food, I was told no. Mmm thought Costa was good for catering for those of us who have a health problem, or choose to be Vegan. I ended up going to Marks and Spencers. Will try popping into another Costa somewhere else, maybe it was just this one.

The staff weren't very friendly and had no menu knowledge. Asked which drink specials they had and was told "the same as usual" Cake was delicious!

My worst experience. The coffee is terrible. I wondering how this store still open. Avoid...😡😡😡

Was starting to use this drive through regularly on the nursery drop-off run...until the last couple of visits where the "order taker" on the mic clearly could not wait till we were gone, repeatedly interrupting us mid-order saying "is that all". We weren't speaking slowly or pausing; just were clearly taking up too much of this lady's time..... Then we received our food and drinks, the coffee was the usual standard (not bad, hence 2 stars), but the food had received very little attention during prep...my toastie had been mangled when being shoved into the wrapper thus losing the bacon & cheese...ah joy. Yep, our family won't be back.

I visisted on Wednesday 7/7/21 just after 12pm. I was served by a girl in very long brown hair which was in a ponytail but her hair was swishing around everywhere. She pretty muched threw my sandwich on the counter and when she put the plate on my tray she threw the plate on, making it clash. She was messing about on her phone whilst I was waiting for my sandwich and came across as bored and angry. Very unprofessional making the whole establishment look bad. She certainly didn't smile at anyone. I don't feel inclined to come back as she makes it seem like customers are ruining her day.

First time visiting. Not busy, only 3 cars in front but took nearly 20 minutes to get 2 coffees. It's usually quicker in store.

Ordered 2 drinks, both with cream. Only to be told after paid, that they didn't have cream as milkman didn't work boxing day?? And was asked if I'd like the cost of the cream refunded. Servers attitude was appalling. This was at 3pm and the girl on the till was oblivious that they had no cream. Won't be going for a Costa fortune again

Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️ Price For Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall the price of the food/drinks at Costa is generally okay. Personally I believe Costa has better pricing than Starbucks which is always good Speed of Service: ⭐️⭐️ On this particular visit, the time between placing my order and receiving my drink was rather slow. Understandable as the drive through was absolutely rammed! But by the time I got to the window in all honesty I would have thought it would have been ready. I was in no rush myself so it’s not that big of an issue. Food Quality: ⭐️ Overall quality of my food was extremely poor and all in all I was very disappointed with this visit to Costa. Both the Salted Caramel Frostinos were over blended so the drink was too thick and slight gritty with the ice. As shown by the photo you can roughly see this texture on the top. We both asked for cream and received none. Restaraunt Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The restaraunt was extremely clean as where all the tables. A very clean and COVID Secure Costa. AOB- I have no other Business.

Letchworth drive through, one avoid 4th in the queue 23 minutes to get one hot chocolate, once in the queue your stuffed! if the staff stopped chatting I am sure we could knocked off at least 10 minutes! dreadfully service, no apology!

Tried the drive through, was okay but a little on the slow side. Christmas hot chocolate was nice, especially the orange and cinnamon one.

Good customer service and seating, no issues. One of the best chai tea.

My hot chocolate didn't have any of the Teri's chocolate orange flavor and neither did my partners the purple one latte. Was t happy with paying nearly £7 for a plain latte and hot chocolate

Really decent drive through. My girlfriend and i come here alot to get hot chocolates, peached ice teas and iced lattes.

One day Costa will improve their blend so that I can taste the coffee without an needing an extra shot. That said, that's a company issue and not really relevent to this stores review. Service is always good here, speedy and cheerful. Long may it continue ! And, God, those pigs under blankets paninis are good !

It's a cup of coffee. However quite impressed at just how hard and loud the guy making the coffee could hit the bowl thing (don't know the proper name, I'm not a barister) on to the tray thing (again, not a barister).

Very slow wasn’t even busy, This was a Black Forest hot chocolate tasted nothing like it dose at other Costas also the hot chocolate was Luke warm, definitely not worth the time might as well just go get a mc Donald’s. Such a shame to all the other great Costas out there

Companies that can't be bothered to update their opening times with Google really drive me crazy. Drove 23 minutes to then arrive at a closed coffeeshop- not even the drive through was open and all a whole 3 hours before the time stated they would be closing.

Staff are always polite and friendly....and have 'life' about them....well done guys, I hope you are as happy as you all seem

It's certainly convenient. The coffee is OK, the range of drinks is fine and service friendly. I was in a tallish van: it only just made it under the height restriction....

Fantastic restaurant staff v efficient and welcoming. Very bistro cozy feel. Great prices. Chef made me a special pasta seafood dish as what I wanted was not on the menu. Mixed meat and mozarella starter, huge portion and arrived with a whole pizza size garlic bread which we didnt expect. Very welcoming atmosphere. Restaurant appears to be used very much by locals which speaks for itself. A must to visit if you are looking to eat in this area. I would love to go back. A highlight of our visit to Milan.

The service was slow, latte was very very weak, could hardly taste the coffee. Also their VAT receipt had no VAT number on it, this I pointed out to them last week, but still not fixed. Most of the empty tables had not been cleared away. Overall not impressed.

We had a very bad experience in Costa Coffee in Baldock Letchworth it was a very dirty tables had to be cleaned before we could sit down the floors were worse the service was very long waiting and the coffee had to be sent back as it was lukewarm it was not a very pleasant experience we use Costa Coffee all the time I'm in Hitchin and Letchworth but this particular one we will not be using again it is on the small industrial new area very disappointed I will not be recommending it to anyone 1 1 I understand they could be short staffed but surely cleanliness of this establishment should be shown priority

You get what you expect from Costa , but with a drive through for those on the go 👍
