Best big tesco to go to especially late at night. There’s a woman who’s always on self serve later at night at the weekend who’s lovely so shoutout to her. I wish you had bought more easter chocolate as it all seemed to run out minus the creme eggs which was a bit of a shame for someone (me) who poorly planned for easter (i’m very busy trust me).

Linda the checkouts manager is the worst manager i’ve ever had. She’s unorganised, rude and very bias. This woman messages her staff at 8 or later the night before to ask them to work or tell them what shift they are doing. She is obsessed with all male younger staff and extremely rude to female staff especially the older ladies baring in mind they’ve worked for years at that tesco. Also has a big agenda against the petrol staff and has called them “tramps”. She would also send her male favourite staff to go and get her food whilst everyone else would have to be working still. Not sure how tesco “big bosses” don’t see an issue with her and have never done anything about her behaviour despite numerous complaints against her.Tesco also had a recent rat problem which affected staff doing longer shifts and completely wrote off a staff members car and caused other colleagues damage to their car but no compensation was awarded. would never recommend anyone to work on checkouts unless management is changed.

Absolutely ridiculous that they force people with trollies to self scan in the evenings - no tills open even before 9pm. Close all tills well before 9pm. Loads of staff hanging around the self checkout area, wouldn’t be hard to put one on a till until at least 9pm (which they should be doing).

Was shopping today, for the first time using the scan as you shop. Was all going a lot easier as you could pack as you shopped which is useful in a big shop full of people. When going to pay we was asked to have our bags searched which is no problem, thought the process would be quick. The guy (Sam) looked thoroughly bored and was throwing the food without any care, was just genuinely rude from start to finish. When we were unpacking the shopping we noticed a broken egg. Not happy with Tesco at all.

When you go to the customer service or go in and buy nothing you herded to a door which that drives you into customers who are coming in and very dangerous as when I was going out a customer came in pushing a pram and banged into my arm badly bruising my arm customer service called a manager who didn't ask me if I wanted a chair to sit on but seemed more concerned about the lady who ran into me and very ignorant towards me for some reason after about an hour I decided to go my car as my wife was waiting in my car I managed to drive home but no one from tescos phoned me to see if I was ok, it took three weeks for the swelling and bruising to go but still have a scar on my wrist..what a way to treat a loyal customer who on average spends a hundred pounds in the store and garage week..and in my opinion the management doesn't care aboute pensioners shopping in the store and getting hurt as I'm 77 years of age and dont need to be treated like this at my time of life .....Have found out from a member of the staff that the management file you out the store to meet incoming customers when you dont buy anything or if you have been to cigarettes or by the lottery as to stop shop lifting ,you used to be able to walk from the customer service to the proper way out exit but the store management has blocked this way out ........Have started to shopping in other supermarkets that have much more customer safety in mind

This place has really turned things around in the customer service department. They have always had a very good selection of stuff both household and groceries, their meat products are arguably the best of any mainstream supermarket and Clubcard prices are very useful. There was a period maybe 5 or 6 years back where their customer service was quite toxic but that lasted only a short time and it was back to the friendly store we know and love in this town. The pharmacy could be a bit better run but it’s open 7 days a week until 8pm on weekdays so you can’t really complain if sometimes the service is lacking. Over all this store and its many facilities and services are absolutely essential to the people in this town and the surrounding villages and towns. They have off the top of my head In store travel money and advice Cash point machines x3 Costa coffee Pharmacy Cigarette/lottery counter Deli Bakery Petrol station Electric chargers Huge parking capacity Money exchange Click and collect A lot of self service checkouts

In the land of Tesco Extra, where shelves stood tall, A tale of horror unfolded, a story to appall. An army of creatures, disgusting and grim, Invaded the aisles with a chaotic din. Bodhi creatures they were, smelly and vile, With twisted features and an eerie, ghastly smile. From the darkest corners, they slithered in stealth, Leaving a trail of decay and malodorous filth. Morbidly obese Sam creatures roamed the scene, Their hunger insatiable, their appetite obscene. Like thundering behemoths, they gorged without end, Snatching away provisions, their gluttony to attend. The once orderly aisles turned into a chaos untamed, As these grotesque beings pillaged, leaving nothing unclaimed. Shoppers watched in horror, frozen in their tracks, As the Bodhi army and Sam creatures launched attacks. Yet amidst the chaos, a glimmer of hope emerged, A guardian of Tesco, a hero undeterred. A valiant employee, armed with courage and might, Stepped forth to confront this repugnant plight. With broom and mop as weapons, they fought the grim tide, Battling foul stenches, pushing back the divide. They rallied the shoppers, united as one, To reclaim their Tesco, to undo what was done. Together they rose, against the repulsive horde, Defending their haven, their voices restored. Brooms clashed with tentacles, determination in their eyes, As the Bodhi creatures fell, met with victorious cries. The Sam creatures, weakened, surrendered to their fate, Their stolen loot recovered, reclaimed by the great. Tesco Extra stood tall, triumphant and strong, Defiant against darkness, where justice belongs. The tale of Tesco Extra, a battle to be told, Of grotesque invaders, and the brave and bold. May it serve as a reminder, to cherish what we hold dear, And protect our havens from horrors that draw near.

Must say I am absolutely disgusted to say the least with how my brother was treated tonight in this store! He is autistic and suffers massively with anxiety and managing to get him to leave the house to go into a big social environment is a big enough issue as it is. So to have him return home tonight with my mum, upset and uncomfortable, feeling like he can’t leave the house again because of his experience in this store with your staff really saddens me! Normally I wouldn’t bother and let it go but as it happens I was also in your store 2 nights ago with my mum and received awful service from your staff myself. I also work in a customer service based environment and I understand how tiring and mentally draining it can be. However some people are just pure rude and have 0 manners or respect for others. This sudden surge of personal shoppers all over the place is the exact opposite of a customer-centric approach. Today, after being blocked three times by two personal shoppers completely blocking three different aisles, I left and went to Aldi where I can shop freely. These personal shoppers have no regard for regular customers doing their shopping. What's worse is that Tesco management is regularly walking the property and do nothing about it. And also, they've been rearranging the shop for 2 months, completely changed the layout of the market probably around three times already and I'm fed up trying to figure out where things are.

Shop alone is not a thing here - couples, big families are all welcome to crowd the store to a very uncomfortable level. If you are a family, seems it is ok to meet another family, not social distance and remove your masks. Saw this with a staff member nearby. Maybe they were exempt but 5 adults, unlikely. Even so, keep distance? No enforcement of regulations, I would say no COVID-19 but that would be clearly wrong. The worst example of any store I have seen since last March. I needed to shop as I haven't been for about 3 weeks and had run out of nearly everything. Was told there are stocks in the shops. I drove around and found Tesco in Baldock did not have queues. I parked and went inside and I was shocked at the lack of 2 metre length that customers and staff were ignoring. A lot of them did not wear either gloves or masks. As this was a new shop for me I had to keep asking where things were and although I stood 2 metres away, the assistant would come and talk in my face. I did ask one why she wasn't wearing safety equipment and her answer was that she had to change masks regularly and it was too much work!! So there we have a huge store where both customers and staff were not following the rules and I spending most of the time running away from people. I am a pensioner with an underlying vulnerability but like so many others in the same situation, where it is not easy to get assistance, we have to do things ourselves. I can only agree with some of the other comments regarding the random check when using the hand scanners. I have been there twice in the last 12 months and been selected both times. This time I removed my bags and left them to put everything back. Went to sainsbury's instead. I also found that a huge amount was out of stock, had to wait age's to get my bread sliced by some grumpy guy who seemed to have too many other jobs and asked for a chicken to be kept warm from the hot food section and was blankly refused. I always do this in sainsbury's and waitrose, which is were I will be going in future as there I am treated as a customer and not a potential shop lifter. I would add that it pains me to leave a bad review as I have a large shareholding in this company, which were doing quite well a few years ago. They are not showing signs of being a good investment now and I can now understand why. I will be selling my stock on the first opertunity as my experience dose not inspire confidence.

What a waste of 45 minutes shopping! EVERYTIME I use the scan as you shop, whether I spend £20 or £200, I get selected for a "random" check where I have to remove everything from the trolley and rescan. This is NOT random if it chooses me EVERYTIME. Anyway, today I left my entire weeks shopping in the trolley with the girl at the scan section. Now I need to go to Sainsbury's. I will never ever go to Tesco's in Baldock again. I have spent tens of thousands of pounds there over the years and am clearly being discriminated against as though I am a thief. I wouldn't mind if I'd ever missed scanning something but I haven't! Tesco you should be ashamed of yourselves! So, my question is... How can I get my pound coin for the trolley back?

The dashboard was filthy and my head unit had been tampered with meaning I had to phone up the manufacturer to get my phone reconnected to Bluetooth and languages changed etc. They refused to clean it further and I was forced to pay for a service I didn’t receive. But I will check every receipt for mistakes and claim back any errors. Rubbish system, or lack of trust by Tesco.

Second visit in a row where I've used "scan as you shop" and been "randomly" selected to have every item re-scanned. On the latest occasion I had several hundred items which took them 20 minutes of ransacking my carefully packed bags (it was 100% accurate [again]). Ridiculous policy and massively inconvenient. Taking my custom elsewhere.

Very pleased with the thoughtfulness of caulis, carrots, Brussels, parsnips and some spuds all at 29p each. At an expensive time families can have the traditional veg and choose what to spend on the rest. Parking was good and staff were around restocking which means you could find someone to ask.

Rudest staff ever! They refused to deliver as there wasn’t a over 18 in the house, understandably (apart from the fact they have allowed it every time before!) so we called back trying to find out when they could deliver it again as there where items in there that we needed that day and they raised there voice to my girlfriend when we trued to be as polite as possible, unbelievable

Apart from the wonderful Tesco food, free parking in an enormous car park, the staff are always very nice and sociable, polite and helpful. This giant Tesco store stands behind the 1924 art deco facade designed by PHS Burditt built of crushed bricks concrete for a film processing company called Kosmos. In 1928 it was taken over by the Full Fashion Hosiery Company, Tesco have been there since 1983.

Having been to different pubs in different places for many years, this might be my favourite pub ever. Absolutely packed at 5pm on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone smiling. Great staff and great food. I couldn't be happier.

The best local pub. Fantastic hosts... so welcoming, even for someone who doesn't go there that often. Beautiful old pub with nice garden. Highly recommended for a beer or two.

Earlier today I dropped my dog at the Groomer in Vanstone Parks Garden Centre, my car to the car wash guys then went into the cafe after a look around the garden centre. It was just after noon. I ordered an omelette with salad and crisps with a pot of tea. Paid for my order and sat outside with my plant pot which had my order number on. The waitress came out with a pot of tea, going well so far! When the waitress brought my order it was an omelette on a rather large plate! I asked where the salad was and was advised this it the breakfast menu, you don’t get anything with it then walked away. I thought I’d read the menu incorrectly until the lady who also sat outside was served an omelette with enough salad you could say it had its own garden! What a pity the service wasn’t a patch on it as when the previous owners/ managers ran the Orchard Cafe. The Groomer did a lovely job on my dog and the car valets made my car sparkle. Just been let down by the cafe’ won’t be going there again

We visited early Saturday evening, such a wonderful experience. Great food, served in a timely manner and fantastic service from Toni who made us feel very welcome. The addition of a small soft play area was a hit with our children too.
