The best restaurants in Epping Forest East of England

Not been to Waltham abbey for many years popped in The Angel for a drink staff were very friendly looked clean with a happy atmosphere will eat next time as menu look a traditional pub food. Nice to see a old pub pub....

Good Italian style food and reasonable prices. Staff friendly and helpful.

Dined there last night and had terrible food poisoning - would not recommend!

Unfortunately the prices are going up and the fish is getting smaller . Ordered cod and it was mainly all batter and not very nice . They only take cash and it was a right pain having to go to a bank machine . They need to move with the times doubt I’ll come back

Ordered chicken doner and chips. Live 5 mins away, got home and it was all freezing cold. Chips were hard, probably left from lunchtime, salad was limp and again probably left from day before. Haven’t been here for a while and definately won’t be going back.

Amazing food every time. Great personal service and friendly atmosphere. Had a Christmas set menu which was excellent value. Looking forward to going back and ordering from the main menu. Fish is speciality.

Being Boxing Day it was very busy but all the staff were fabulous. The food was excellent and we had a wonderful family dinner. Thank you

Used to love this Chinese.. only had it once since they apparently 'revamped' the Web site. Food in bag was actually dripping with grease !! Yuck!! And the rice was so stodgy I had to literally cut it with a knife. I'd been dreaming of my fave chinese all day....Well disappointed ☹️🥺 And what's with the £1.50 delivery and service charge?? Am I paying for their revamped updates. Don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. 😒

Seriously don't go to the kebbary at Epping on just eat as jokers , just go to Poppys as deliver the food within a timely manner

The food was not nice at all, the service was very slow. We arrived at 6,15 and ordered by 6,30 ish never got our main meals till around 8pm which was annoying considering we had 3 children under 7 yrs old. And a bill of £160,definitely will never return.

Group of us went for our camera club 's awards dinner. They coped very well with 28 of us! Nice food and atmosphere too👍
