I’ve been visiting the clubhouse for many years and it’s a very friendly welcoming eating establishment with a large outside eating area for warm sunny days to bring friends and family and watch the various planes and helicopters take off and land The food is amazing and very reasonably priced Try the sweet chilli wrap it’s the best ever !

Went There for Breakfast where The Staff were not Very Welcoming Agree With a Review on Tripadvisor it Seems like an Effort . The Signs says wait at Your Table for your Order to be Taken , But The Staff just walk passed you Had to Approach The Counter and Asked For our Order to be Taken . So Service very Poor But when our Breakfast Arrived Very Quick it was Really Lovely and Tasty

Received the wrong item with my order but apparently this can only be the customers fault! If the wrong selections are placed on the order slip by the Clubhouse staff then what is a customer to do? The most disappointing thing is that between four members of staff they couldn't work out that perhaps an error was made on their part and that the customer experience should be given some greater consideration. Not much you can do when faced with thoughtless staff as this establishment takes your money before you receive your food. Won't be visiting this café again as there are frankly far better choices in the immediate vicinity.

It is ages since we have been to The Aerodrome and regretfully it hasn't improved much. The welcome seems to me to be a bit of an effort, the americano coffee was only lukewarm and the breakfast only average with hard poached eggs. However, on the plus side, it was spotlessly clean warm with an excellent view of the planes.

Ok. So it's not waitress service. It's not high-end dining. It's not 5 star surroundings. What it is, is good honest food at exceptional prices which, for my mind, knocks spots off far more expensive restaurants in Essex and London. I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

A nice spot in rural Essex, where you can find a good choice of home made food, whilst enjoying the view of aircrafts taking off as there is an airfield there Friendly and cosy, it offers good value for money. Perfect for lunch or afternoon tea/coffee

Fine for what it is. Very inexpensive breakfast but absolutely fine. Did the job. Very friendly and great views seeing light aircraft take off and land.

This cafe is a real hit or miss. Last month it was top notch, but today it was average at best. The poached eggs were too hard and the beans only luke warm. However, the sunshine was brilliant.

A lovely sunny day so we sat outside and watched the aight aircraft coming and going. I ordered two poached eggs, beans and sweet potato chips that were served in good time. The big plate was completely filled. The eggs were ok but the chips were fantastic. Crisp, light, dry and tasted wonderful. The staff were extremely friendly and polite.

I was very pleased that the standard, in fare and service, that we received on our last visit was duplicated. The roast lamb was tender and there was lots of it. The roast potatoes were crisp and the vegetables firm. Over all there wasn’t a fault to be found.

As expected the welcome was warm and very friendly. Today they were offering leak and potato soup that was home-made and tasted wonderful. It is rare to find such quality outside being made at home by an expert. The bowl was filled and it was piping hot. If this is the quality of the fare we can expect from now, I look forward to eating there again soon.

There was a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff who took our order. The food was served in good time, and although the meat pie was only average, the chips were crisp and very tasty. The coffee was hot and well flavoured and looking out at of the windows at the planes taking off and landing, always pleases the little ones.

I only had their pea and ham soup but what a treat. It was served with buttered brown bread, that was shop bought, but the soup was home made. The bowl was filled, it was hot and the taste and consistency was near perfection. My partner had liver and bacon and I was allowed to taste a small portion. I can report that the gravy was spot on, thick and full of flavour. A most enjoyable lunch.

Because we fly from this club, we use the restaurant regularly. The food is simple , but fresh and well cooked. It os also open to non club members.

I ordered coffee and asked the lady behind the counter which of the six puddings on offer would she recommend. Her choice of chocolate with custard was an excellent suggestion that was delivered in good time and tasted very chocolaty.

The clubhouse is a brilliant place to take children as they will have, weather permitting, a wonderful view of light aircraft taking off and landing.

Booked 8 rooms on booking.com for a family wedding and was meant to come with breakfast included, however once paid for the room on site we were informed that breakfast is not included and had to be paid and to take it up with booking.com, booking.com said they emailed and no reply and they couldn’t refund us as we paid the fox inn directly. They were closed on the Monday (every Monday is closed) so the bed sheets and towels were not replaced Monday so had no clean towels for Monday night/Tuesday. Feel very disappointed and annoyed as a full English breakfast was about £15 so for 2 days for 2 people is £60 on top of the room. To get no reply is poor and overall a bad experience and would not recommend.

Freshwater offer lavish and huge, tasty portions of freshly made food at a very reasonable price. My wife's first instinct that day was to go to MacDonalds but the quality of food and value for money at Freshwaters was way beyond what we would have had there. Freshwater serve you a proper meal.

Fantastic day at the Kings Head in Ongar. Staff were absolutely amazing and the food was incredible, lovely pizzas and roasts on a Sunday. We had our own private room due to the size of our booking but the staff were extremely accommodating making sure we always had everything we needed

Nice quiet space and a good variety of pastries, toasties abd great variety of hot drinks, frappes, iced lattes, smoothies. I ordered the pistachio and salted caramel frappe with whipped cream on top. It was sweet enough for me so asked for a bit more syrup and they did. Very nice.
