Fabulous fish and chips and very friendly staff

The chips were absolutely delicious. By far the best in the area. We have been going to another chip shop in Epping for years however the chips here far exceeded expectations. And the staff were very courteous and friendly. Top notch.

Very good chips and batter on the fish. Curry sauce not the best. Seems a bit unorganised and you end up waiting longer than needed if they didn’t mix orders up. It is a very good fish and chip shop, however the wait is just a bit annoying.

Was looking forward to having my fish and chips; however, on ordering, everything requested was not available; no rock, no middle skate, no this, no that. Settled for wing of skate and chips. The whole dinner was a big let down unfortunately; the chips were virtually cold, very soggy and tasteless, not even salt and vinegar could perk them up - I like my chips to be crisp and crunchy, with lots of flavour! The fish was also very greasy - a total disaster and most of it went in the bin; what a waste of money! 😳

2 family members and I go to visit other family in, Theydon Bois from the south coast, 1-2 weekends a month (sometimes more, sometimes less). But, we never miss an opportunity to pop into this chip shop on a Saturday afternoon (even the family members who say "oh I’m not hungry, I’ll just have quarter/half with someone" - Will CLEAN their plates!) Part of our order will always include; a large chips (huge! Easily share between 4-5 ladies), battered cod, cod roe, sausage in batter, and then maybe something else to try, such as; a saveloy, curry spring roll, Donna meat and chips a pie, pickled onions or gherkins. Have ordered from here many times and never, ever had a bad meal, chips are always chunky, fresh and delicious, the batter on the fish, sausages & roe is always light, crunchy and just the right thickness. Just as important is, the staff who serve us, always do so with a genuine smile and friendliness- Whether it’s face to face or over the phone. I’ve worked in customer service for over 20years, so I really pay attention to these things, the staff just come across a caring, attentive and kind. Definitely a 5 star rating from me

Lovely food and great service. My order was very nice and was pretty quick too. Everything in my order was cooked fresh so it was nice and hot! The staff are very nice and up for a laugh and joke. The price is not too bad, maybe a slight bit high but I would go back if I was in the area 100%!

Great chippy. Staff are friendly, service prompt. Most things are cooked to order so everything is fresh. From fish and chips the kebabs, the burgers, to crispy chicken this place has it all.

Absolutely appalled at the food I had delivered. Took over an hour for food to come when was told 30 mins when it arrived it was un edible tge chicken burger had so much mayo in it was like skip the bun was so soggy , the chips were cold and partly raw , and the fish was so dry , I phoned and the girl on the phone was so lovely but managers was not interested in helping me , if I could give no stars I would

Fish & Chips for lunch at work today to celebrate remembrance day... First time we've used Churchills. We weren't disappointed. Fish and chips were cooked to perfection. Batter wasn't too thick. Lovely and crisp. Everyone very happy. Highly recommend.

First time yesterday on a friends recommendation, had a varied selection with Haddock,Skate,Cod,Plaice and Scampi. Fabulous food and very friendly efficient service. Price was good as well. How they get the driest crunchiest chips is a mystery. But delicious.

First time to this fish and chips shop the cod was one of the best I have had the chips was nice and crispy too I will be going there again

Treated ourselves to a take-away this evening, first time in a long time, even before the lockdown - absolutely brilliant! Really nice fish and chips and staff friendly . They will cook the fish fresh if you ask and my plaice was Snow White . I come from Epping and this is the best around

Loved this place for fish and chips! However i made the terrible mistake of trying the fried chicken. I was terribly ill and suffered from food poisoning for about 3 days enduring pain abdominal cramps along with the rest. AVOID THE CHICKEN AT ALL COSTS
