Express Bbq & Fish Bar in Epping Forest

Ordered chicken doner and chips. Live 5 mins away, got home and it was all freezing cold. Chips were hard, probably left from lunchtime, salad was limp and again probably left from day before. Haven’t been here for a while and definately won’t be going back.

There is a reason these guys are last. The service is so slow. It's not like there isn't plenty of them working there so the mind boggles as to how they get it so wrong.

The fish and chips bit was great but partner wasn’t keen on the kebab.

Usually the food is good Monday to Saturday, on Sundays the food is terrible ordered a chefs special as always but this time as the last sunday the only thing fresh was the chicken wings and kebab, donners were old rice was clumpy and very little compared to the week. I called to advise them and they were rude told me not to order from here any more. Absolutely dissatisfied with this service. Dont ever order on a Sunday.

Fish is always really fresh and tasty. Chips are very good, veggies burgers are awesome. Best chippy around!

I really didn't enjoy my mixed kebab from this place. Portion was small and the donner really didn't taste great. To the point my son have his bit back.

Happily it arrived early to feed the hungry mouths after l ordered late for lunch. Fish from this place is always delicious. I hear the chicken wings are amazing too. Can’t wait to try.

Food is lovely although this is the second time I’ve ordered. We had kebab but all came separate and had to make it all up ourself which is the whole point of a takeaway (quick meal) so definitely wouldn’t order that meal again didn’t enjoy it at all

May have been a one off but I ordered a halloumi wrap, and received a portion of halloumi and a pitta. Food wasn’t particularly hot on arrival. Maybe just a bad day?

Food arrived over 30 minutes late and also cold. Presentation was terrible as fries were wrapped in the paper instead of the box and as a result they were all squeezed. Will never order again, not sure how come this place have so many stars

The haloumi was wet from the lettuce in the carton and the food was cold.

Driver dropped off starters on time but main courses were missing. Two phone calls later the main courses arrived! But over an hour later!! Willing to accept that this was a one off error but wasn't good. The food was very good though

Food was late turning up and delivered us some elses food along with our own. But that aside the food was great. Kebab wrap was excellent in particular

Burgers were great. The sausage in the sausage in batter was underdone.

Just arrived home with two lamb shish kebabs. Have been getting the same order every month or so for years. Tonight it was SO disappointing. Very small portion size and very different dish to the lamb shish that we have had over many years. The price hasn't changed, nor have the staff so no idea what the problem is. However it was clear from the display cabinet which was very sparse that business had changed. There are so many other Turkish restaurants I doubt we will go back. Pity.

Quite simply - They don’t take cards. Yes really! In 2019, this backwards establishment only takes cash. There is no indication of this, but it is quite frustrating to order food, then wait, then be told ‘We don’t take cards’. Get in the 21st century fellas - your attitude is contemptible.

Shish kebabs, fish & chips, burgers, gherkins - all very good for a local take away. Been coming here for a few years and no complaints.

Regular customer, food always lovely. Tonight they accidentally missed off 2 x sausage in batter, on phoning they were polite and very apologetic, sent out within 15 minutes. Mistakes happen but how you respond goes a long way and these guys were brilliant ! Thank you for being prompt

This is a great takeaway Kebabs are excellent so is the fish and chips. Its nice that they put the fish is boxes, nice packing.

Best kebab in town, no grease, no fat/grissle just yummy meat. Chips are the best around too. Always deliver on time or early, drivers always happy and polite, highly recommend .

chicken was chewy and flavourless, the rice was flavourless too, and the pitta was hard. my Fanta and BBQ sauce was the only thing which wasn't massively disappointing

Batter was far too crunchy and was sent the wrong bottle of drink.

chips were small soggy and oily, i phoned restaurant they said this week potatoes were poor and machine chopped them small, cod and haddock were oily undercooked scampi was ok ; ALL THE FOOD WAS COLD!!!

Chips seemed like they were old, but otherwise the rest of the food was fine.

I ordered a large card, large chips, quarter pounder cheese burger and a 1.5l bottle of fanta but never received my drink? this is very disappointing as I love the food we get when we order from you so for the fact I paid £2 for my drink and never got it? is unacceptable and this can't go on as its lack of attention when taking customers orders!

Order was ready quicker than the estimate, but that meant that the fish was cooler than expected.

First time I have ordered from here was a little disappointed that the food was warm going cold then hot maybe getting thermal bags might be the answer as I had read a few reviews about food being cold when delivered,

While food arrived early, when it got to me it was cold. Borek were doughy and chewy rather than crispy, fish was incredibly greasy to the point where I had to remove the skin.

Lovely Haddock, good chips, the only downside was that the saveloy was pretty cold. But overall really nice.

I must stress before I write this review fully that I always order from this place and the food is always excellent but this time I was very upset with the delivery driver who opened the door, said nothing after i greeted him, and slammed my own front door in my own face. I hope he is spoken to as this is no way to treat paying customers, we all have bad days but this is no need for complete and utter rudeness.

The delivery was super fast, about half an hour earlier than expected!

2nd time iv placed order unfortunately i was not happy with the fish. Was not cooked properly so batter was still runny and mushy quite like an uncooked fried egg. Delivery was superfast though. I dont know if i will use again.
