Lavenham is a beautiful place but what makes it special is this beautiful tea rooms. Run by a super friendly lady passionate about great service, this is a place you just come in by chance to have a cup of tea but once inside you want to have a full breakfast and then stay for lunch and dinner. And then come back again next day and do it all over and over and over … Highly recommend this place and thank the owner for making this place so special and adorable with its decor, ambiance, food and drinks and service.

Amazing ice cream! A big bonus for us was that it was suitable for our nut-allergic son, who almost never gets this sort of ice cream treat. The lady was very knowledgeable about her ingredients as it’s homemade, and made sure she got a fresh scoop for him too. He declared it the best ice cream ever! The coffee was also delicious, piping hot & served in beautiful eco-friendly cups with different designs. Highly recommend and not just for the summer, the hot chocolate looked amazing too and there was a lovely selection of gifts in the shop.

We had a really lovely couple of hours on 14th February having a splendid afternoon tea that I had won in the local village church raffle at Christmas. Everything was wonderful with the sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes, scones, macaroons, heart shaped sweeties, coffee and tea. Gluten free bread and scones and cakes were all very tasty and I particularly loved the gluten free sandwiches that were generously filled. It was all so perfect and the staff were attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome. What a very enjoyable and much appreciated afternoon tea.. thank you very much to all the team and for the lovely treat! We will be back very soon!

Nice peaceful place to have a coffee or milkshake and a toastie and read the paper - nice books to browse or buy whilst you are waiting

Really fantastic food and good and attentive service but severely let down by the room being so cold on a very cold March day. Customers were coming into the dining area in heavy coats, scarves and hats and keeping them on as it would have been uncomfortable to take them off. There was a fireplace in the room but at no stage was it lit and staff seemed unaware of how cold customers sitting at tables were. We overheard one man at the bar asking if there was anywhere warmer to sit as he was cold.....but no steps were taken to make conditions warm and welcoming for diners. Despite the food being so good, it didn't make you feel like rushing back, certainly not during the winter months. What a pity as we drove quite a distance to have lunch at The Greyhound based on a recommendation.

Attempted to have an early drink, followed by lunch. Their website says open from 10am Saturday. Same start time on board outside pub. We arrived at 11.40....closed. No sign of opening. Phoned number on the board outside...unobtainable. Found phone number on their website, no answer. 11.50 gave up and walked down the hill into town and had an excellent lunch.

I made this reservation weeks ago for a special occasion. I had seen the restaurant before and it looked very nice, unfortunately it wasn’t very good. The good- The restaurant is nicely presented in the centre of Lavenham. The tables are nicely laid but the good feedback ends there. The bad- We had a 830 booking, by 9pm the staff were tidying around us and making a ridiculous amount of noise drying cutlery. The ugly- I order the Lamb Shank which is one of my favourite dishes. I cut in to it, it was tough and then I put it in my mouth and had an awful shock. It was cold, it had not been defrosted and cooked properly. The icing on the cake was when they tried to charge me for the alternative dish. The cheek of it, probably the worst food & service I’ve ever had in an Indian restaurant. From speaking to some locals in the pub later I learnt that the general feedback is it is very inconsistent and often lets people down.

Lovely surroundings but both the service and the food were of much poorer quality than on our previous visit. Our food came out in dribs and drabs so that some meals.werw nearly finished before others got theirs. Coffee was cold and dietary needs were not catered for at all well. In fact the staff seemed reluctant to try to help regarding this need. The food was not of good enough quality to justify the price. Having eaten there regularly we were all very disappointed and will now thing twice before returning.
