A lovely tearoom. Our first choice to visit for breakfast when we go to Lavenham . The staff are friendly, always a warm welcome . Good choice of food, freshly prepared . Good coffee and delicious hot chocolate . Highly recommended!

What a lovely tearoom this is! I was lucky enough to win an afternoon tea here from a raffle held for My Wish Charity, so I took my daughter with me. The owner and staff were very friendly and explained how the afternoon tea worked. We started with tea and coffee, then we were able to choose what sandwich we each wanted, a lot better idea than a mixed selection that we might not have liked, it also came with warm sausage rolls which were delicious. Our scones were lovely, we had a fruit one with jam and clotted cream and a cheese one with butter and relish, warm, light and tasty. The cake stand was also decorated with strawberries, raspberries and cherries, so looked very lovely. Then rather than lots of small cakes we got to chose a slice each from the varied selection, so we had carrot and chocolate, absolutely lovely, although we took them home as we were so full. Even though it was a miserable day the tearoom was very busy and all the food coming out looked fab, highly recommended a visit. Well done to the owner and staff xx

We visited this beautiful and historical tea room twice in the last couple of days and throughly recommend. Lovely staff - chatty and friendly, brilliant service. Above all, the food was excellent and not overpriced. We live over an hour away, but I’ll be looking for excuses to make a return visit. Thanks for being so welcoming and telling us all the ghost 👻 stories! (Which was my initial reason for visiting!)

We visit Tatums as often as we can and always have a wonderful experience. The staff are kind and friendly and always make us feel so welcome. The food is made to order but drinks are prompt and my children just can’t get enough of the hot chocolates-which are always cooled to childrens temperature (I love the attention to detail). Would totally recommend!

Really lovely little tearoom with seating downstairs and upstairs in the rafters. Had a nice cuppa with a fruit scone and it was just perfect. Very kind service as well!

We popped in here to warm up after a chilly walk around Lavenham Farmers Market. I had the best hot chocolate ever, really chocolatey without being sickly. We also had delicious fruit scone with jam and cream. Lovely little quaint coffee shop, and good service.

My wife, daughter and I had a really good breakfast here. My wife and I had eggs, bacon and toast whilst our daughter tried the soup of the day - a delicious thick tomato and chilli soup. Services was excellent and welcoming, and the food was delicious and well presented. Highly recommended

Not my first visit to this cute cafe but my first breakfast and it was so good. We all had Eggs and bacon on granary bread, I have to say the yummiest we’ve ever tasted. We were greeted by two friendly staff, we sat upstairs by the window with beautiful surroundings. My little cockapoo was very content sitting under our table. A wonderful selection of baked cakes on display, as obviously we couldn’t leave without a takeaway slice for later in the day.

This lovely cage was a real find. We went four times in a week including breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Each time the food was fresh and very tasty. Even better was the service with genuinely lovely staff with beaming smiles. 10/10

Very pretty cafe with really friendly staff. Cold day so was a shame that all the windows were open upstairs. It was a busy day but practically empty upstairs when we arrived but every table had filled up by the time our food arrived. Cappuccinos came quickly so were cold way before the food arrived. My baguette was soft and soggy (I like crusty) and the egg mayo filling was very sloppy. Side salad tiny, dry and didn’t taste fresh. My partner’s toast was cold and rubbery. I could see other customers complaining with each other about the long wait for their food too. If the food tasted fresher would give it a much higher rating as the staff seemed lovely.

We had driven quite some way and were very hungry when we arrived in Lavenham. Tatum's was the first tearoom we saw and were happy with the menu. We just wanted a sandwich. The tea and milkshake arrived promptly and they were good. I had a cheese and chutney sandwich my partner had the bacon and brie panini . It was not good. The bread was dry on my sandwich. The bacon in the panini was grey. The salad consisted of some limp leaves and a segment of tomato. It was very disappointing. Before the response of "we should have said at the time". We were just too fed up by the lack of care of the food and tired from our journey. It was £23 in total. Please try harder. A little dressing on the salad. Even some seasoning. Fresh bread. It all felt loveless and mediocre. We saw other tearooms further into the town. Maybe they were better.

I arrived later than I hoped for due to personal reasons but the fabulous staff and owner still got me the most delicious hot food. It was just what I needed after a difficult morning and I can thououghly recommend Tatums. Brilliant food, brilliant service and always served with a smile plus mouthwatering cakes. A lovely little cafe with truly awesome cakes and treats. Our wrap and sandwich were delicious and came with a huge pot of tea. The owner does the baking herself and is very welcoming. This friendly little place with great eats is not to be missed when in Lavenham. Sadly we were just passing through.
