Hadley's at Lavenham in Babergh

Amazing ice cream! A big bonus for us was that it was suitable for our nut-allergic son, who almost never gets this sort of ice cream treat. The lady was very knowledgeable about her ingredients as it’s homemade, and made sure she got a fresh scoop for him too. He declared it the best ice cream ever! The coffee was also delicious, piping hot & served in beautiful eco-friendly cups with different designs. Highly recommend and not just for the summer, the hot chocolate looked amazing too and there was a lovely selection of gifts in the shop.

Perfect ice cream stop in the perfect village of Lavenham. Excellent ice cream - rhubarb and particularly the stem ginger was absolutely divine. I’ll be thinking of it for months. Very cute shop with lots of kitchen ware, mugs etc. Friendly service and price not bad. This is a must whilst visiting Lavenham.

Revisiting the Parlour was one of the things we were most looking forward to about our recent stay in Lavenham! A really lovely selection of ice creams and very reasonably priced. The lady who served us also shared some helpful local knowledge about events taking place over the weekend too which was lovely. Can’t wait to visit again!

Just had a WONDERFUL visit to The Parlour in beautiful Lavenham. We'd been several times before but now it is even better with locally produced chocolates and bars, cards and crockery. The ice cream was nothing less than sublime. We were agreed that the stem ginger ice cream was the finest that we had ever enjoyed. We then had takeaway flat whites which were of the highest order of merit. The lady was very pleasant and offered us a loyalty card which we gladly accepted as we shall certainly return soon. A highly recommended highlight of Lavenham. Enjoy!

I have been searching for my perfect hot chocolate for years ( more than 20 years) Then by chance a couple of years I forego my chance to have an ice cream so I could try the hot chocolate at The Parlour,hands down the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. I travel to Lavenham to see family and friends but I know I haven’t arrived or settled till I’ve been to order my hot Chocolate,never disappointed . This January despite been back on my healthier eating plan after Christmas blow out,I popped in and had a dark chocolate hot chocolate,still dreaming about it 😁.

The range and quality of ice cream served was amazing. If you love ice cream give it a try, you will be royally received.

Absolutely love this place and go every time we’re in Lavenham! Wonderful hot chocolate that takes time to make as it’s so rich and delicious. The ice cream is gorgeous and worth it even on a cold day. It’s a small shop but if you’re lucky there’s one table or some seats outside, or you can walk around the village to eat on a nice day. Highly recommended!

Popped it at the end of a walk as it got cold and dark to grab a warming coffee but straight away tempted by the ice cream. Coffee was very good and compostable cups too. Between us we tried 4 flavours of ice cream and I would happily eat a lot of any of them again but my goodness I could eat my own weight in the cinnamon. All of this was served by a very nice friendly owner who took time to enquire about our day and also explain about the homemade ice cream. She also very kindly gave us a discount on the multiple ice cream. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

This place is charming and sells delicious ice cream. The nicest woman behind the counter too (the owner I think). She’d made some pumpkin ice cream as an experiment and didn’t feel like selling it, so my ice cream was on the house (I did try to pay!) . She needn’t have worried as it was really delicious .. a bit like almond kulfi. My daughter’s honeycomb was also v v nice. A HUGE contrast to the pub lunch we’d just endured. Thank you! The ice creams were absolutely delicious and fabulous! We had honeycomb, chocolate and salted caramel (between us) The owner was lovely and nice to chat with. We are big ice cream fans and have sampled extensively around the country and indeed the world. This is simply the best. We visited every day we were in Lavenham and worked our way through vanilla, salted caramel, rhubarb, lemon curd, cherry ripple and honeycomb. Hard to chose a fave as all were superlative. Went for brekkie on our last day and had the hot chocolate made with Orford's Pump St chocolate. Such a treat. Do not miss this place. And the proprietor is lovely and a font of all ice cream knowledge.

We sat outside the parlour in the warm autumn sunshine savouring every mouthful of their delicious home made ice creams! Definitely worth a visit.

Jane catered the ice cream for our wedding in her lovely VW camper van trailer and it was perfect. My wife and I met Jane at her shop before the event for a tasting and were blown away by just how good the ice cream is. From the rich chocolate to the wonderfully juicy fruit flavours (and a superb salted caramel, which everyone should try) they were the best we'd ever tasted. This was a sentiment echoed by our wedding guests on multiple occasions. If you are just passing through Lavenham (or even relatively nearby) then you must pop in and try some. And if you want to make a wedding, birthday or any event even more special then consider booking Jane - you (and all of your friends and family) will love it.

Such a pretty shop we could not walk past without trying the ice cream here.. myself and daughter were quite obsessed with the salted caramel flavour, the best we’d ever tasted anywhere! Husband was impressed with the coffee too.. lovely friendly service from the shop owner, what an asset to the beautiful village of Lavenham.

The best place in Lavenham for a hot chocolate or a coffee. We went in the summer too for ice cream. So delicious. The owner is lovely and very friendly. This is without a doubt my favourite place in Lavenham.

After a chilly afternoon walk we were looking for a tasty hot chocolate and a calm atmosphere. The lady in the shop was extremely kind and helpful, the chocolate was a perfect temperature and had a lovely taste. Would highly recommend to all.

Lovely little place, amazing coffee, owner is very nice. Stayed at Swan, but was told this is better coffee.... which is true! Must go for coffee lovers.

Bought a sorbet and strawberry ice cream from a vinyl record store in Bury st Edmunds. Excellent lime and lemon sorbet and delicious strawberry ice cream, three scoops in a tub - £2.50 each, excellent value

The lady owner was very nice and very welcoming . The ice cream ( made with local milk ) from her farm was delicious. We also bought a small china cup and she gift wrapped it very nicely and use bubble wrap to keep it safe from breaking it. Thank you . By your kindness you made our vacations in Lavenham even better.

The delicious ice cream served here is SECOND TO NONE.My wife had an ice cream here last year & has been telling me ever since that I should try some.We went here today with my sister & brother in law from Belfast, & we all absolutely loved what we had, we all had two flavours, I had rhubarb & coffee, my wife had raspberry & honeycomb, my sister & brother in law each had coffee & vanilla.There were plenty of other choices.We ate on the premises and a nice touch was free raspberries, blueberries and marshmallows that you could add to your selection there was also free water to quench your thirst if you needed it.The lady owner was lovely & was clearly passionate about her business.Lots of very nice gifts available to purchase including Emma Bridgwater pottery, other handmade pottery, chocolate etc.I loved the ice cream so much that I bought some cartons to take home.I recommend that you take a cool box / bag when you visit as I’m sure you’ll want to do the same.

I stopped earlier this week for an icecream. Having been here numerous times before. I tried bonfire toffee and stem ginger icecreams this time. Unfortunately there weren’t any cones as the delivery driver had dropped them .

Discovering Hadley’s made visiting Lavenham even more delightful.

If the queue out of the door is not a give away, I don't know what is... Was it worth the wait -absolutely. Lovely set up and service. Only criticism would be that one member of staff at the weekend on a sunny afternoon is probably not enough! She was working as fast as she could but not keeping up with the demand coming through the door.

Most interesting to look inside Hadley's at Lavenham and maybe buy something. All things in shop are moderately priced

I have been to the tremendously beautiful, historic town of Lavenham many times over the years and this business compels more regular visits, not just in summer. We read about it the week it opened, I think we visited on opening day such was our as it turned out merited enthusiasm. The shop is attractive both inside and out. Clean and tidy. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. We had two scoops of ice cream each in paper pots but they do special looking waffle cones as well, and waffles. They also do hot drinks and sell chocolates. The ice cream itself is of the highest quality and as it is an occasional treat you accept the premium cost. I awarded three stars for value as I didn't exclaim in the shop, what great value! We have visited three times now and have had many great flavours, some are the standards taken to a new level and some were new to us. Whether wet or dry , hot or cold, I think this wonderful emporium adds much to an already wonderful slice of olde England.

A somewhat torrid journey down from Southwold - totally in the hands of the SatNav which gives you no real sense of where you are in relation to anything. Determined however to visit Lavenham which is so clearly one of the jewels in the Suffolk crown. We arrived late in the day which meant no crowds and having parked up in the market square took the nearest road and found ourselves adjacent to this ice cream-shop on the corner.

My girlfriend and I stopped by to get an ice cream and it was singlehandedly the best ice cream I’ve ever had in my life. I had elderflower and lime, and can not recommend it enough.

Every year we travel to Italy and experience the most amazing ice cream and I haven’t ever found anything that compares, some come close but nothing that may even exceed.. until I visited Lavenham on Saturday. For one I could not decide which flavours to have as they all sounded amazing, I decided on the gooseberry and elderflower, this was absolutely stunning, I loved the sharp, but sweet taste with a hint of elderflower and then the salted caramel, which was equally as good. Living in Kent we are quite far away for any more tasting session’s another trip to Lavenham hopefully very soon! Massive congrats to the team of Hadleys.. please expand to Kent!x

This is absolutely delicious ice cream and we returned on a daily basis during our stay in Lavenham. Can heartily recommend the lemon curd, stem ginger and coffee flavours.

Coffee excellent; ice cream better. A good reason for moving to Lavenham. Mail order for ice cream is a risky business I'm sure but I'd give it a try for this. Only the second time I have found liquorice ice-cream for sale - brill, try it.

Hadley's is a lovely little shop on the High Street in historic Lavenham - just the place to rest your weary feet after exploring this beautiful small town. The ice creams are made locally and are superb (most have the nationally recognised 'Great Taste' awards) as is the coffee. I combined both with an expertly made 'afforgato' - better than I had tasted anywhere in Italy too. I was with my elderly mother and disabled children and we were all made to feel most welcome by the owner. I really liked the fact that cucumber flavoured water and toppings are available free to help yourself from.

When you have enjoyed walking round the old village of Lavenham, Hadley's is an oasis where to can get delicious real ice cream in a multitude of flavours. We tried Honeycomb with Wild Cherry and Raspberry.

Great find, what a really nice lady, couldn't do enough for the customers. Lovely place would definitely recommend. Loved the free cucumber water offered on a really hot day

What a lovely find on our holiday!Our family loved the choice of flavours and the kids loved being able to put their own toppings on!My daughter recommends the lemon curd but the rum and raisin was definately my favourite! Would certainly visit again.

Taking some time out in the Easter holidays we decided to do the Lavenham circular walk and discovered this gem of a place in the High Street. We were welcomed warmly to the parlour and made to feel at home in their bright contemporary cosy nook.

Recently popped in Hadley's just to grab one of their lovely coffees, but ended up getting an ice cream and little free cake as well! The coffee blend is lovely, the mini cakes you get with the coffees are beautiful and the ice cream was simply amazing! I tried the salted caramel and cherry ice cream and can honestly say it was among some of the best ice cream I've ever tried! Very creamy and simply delicious! Will definitely be recommending to friends...

Beautiful interior, makes you feel so welcome, and Caroline was full of knowledge about the produce she was selling. Everything amazing!! But highly recommend the coffe and walnut cake, so moist, but light at the same time. Will definetly be retuning when next in Lavenham!! Stopped for afternoon tea and enjoyed delicious waffles and icecream, hot chocolate, tea and possibly the best cherry bakewell I have ever had.

Beautiful little shop selling an array 'something sweet' to suit all tastes. I had a hot chocolate which was served with a choice of complementary marshmallow, mini cherry bakewell or mini biscuit. I opted for the marshmallow which was amazing!!

We were staying in lavenham and came here twice in two days for coffee. The lady that runs it was so friendly and gave us some great local tips on places to visit. Much more than an ice cream parlour, the coffees, tea and biscuits were all top notch.

I tries the honeycomb - it's as good as you'll find anywhere! Just behind the market and well-worn the visit.

Have been a few times and the ice cream has been delicious. Well worth a visit. You can also buy to take away in tubs to have a treat at home.

A most delightful, uncluttered cafe on Lavenham High Street serving perfect coffee made with freshly ground beans from Monmouth Coffee Co. Sit inside or out (blankets provided) and enjoy delicious coffee, very special hot chocolate, gelato affogato or one of their numerous varieties of home-made ice cream and biscotti. A breath of fresh air and a welcome change from the ubiquitous, conventional tea room offerings. We have been several times and are always impressed by the atmosphere, service and quality of food and drinks.

Popped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The salted caramel ice cream was amazing. Lovely friendly staff who served us with very good coffee. Recommend a visit when you are in lavenham.

What can I say...my husband who loves an ice cream stated this was the best ice cream that he had ever had...high praise indeed. Lovely and clean and friendly staff

We were looking forward coming to this new ice cream parlour rafter reading great reviews,but we were shocked when we arrived on Friday. It was closed and when we asked the lady next door, she told us they were closed on Fridays for about four weeks now because of the short of staff. When we came back home, I checked their website, they weren't mentioned anything about closing on Fridays. They should inform about closing. Very disappointing.

Visited here recently, we had flavours including toffee and mango sorbet which were amazing. My son, who is a bit of an ice cream connoisseur, had the salted caramel flavour which he said was the best ice cream he's ever had in his life!

This place opened a few months ago and they do admit they have got some things still to do like the waffles and Sundeas still haven't appeared on the menu yet. But they do have a good selection of locally made ice-cream in cones or tubs, with a take away selection. A single is £2 with a double inc wafer at £3.50 plus they offer milkshakes at £3.50. Hopefully in the future they'll have hot drinks to make it more of a go to cafe. Opening hours seemed to be from midday to around 5pm. Nicely decorated, friendly service, tasty flavours and luscious ice-cream. Look forward to going back for a waffle.

I had a few of their gorgeous ice creams now. There is a good selection of ice cream and cones. The premises are smart, bright and clean. The proprietor is friendly and most of all, the ice cream is delicious! It is in a great location on the High Street just by the corner of the lane leading to the historic Market Place and they also have a seat outside to enjoy your ice cream and watch the world go by.

We were very sad when our local newsagent closed, and the shop was vacant a while. Then we were amazed to see a new Ice cream parlour taking shape. Since opening we have visited a few times now, either with our grand children, or with friends, and driving past quite frequently - we are locals - it looks to be constantly busy. It is run by Hadleys, an ice cream company in the area, who are sometimes at local shows etc. There are about 16 flavours regularly on offer, every one very tempting! We suggested that they should also offer other lines, like take away proper coffee, and fresh take away tea. We wish the enterprise success!

Locally made ice cream, lots of flavours and you can sit and enjoy on the seats provided inside or outside. Yum.

This newly-opened ice cream parlour serves up some delicious and also unusual flavours. The lemon curd is lovely, the cherry flavour is delightful and the brown bread isn’t too bad. All the flavours are temping and the cones are good quality waffle cones. Tubs are also available. Was doing a bustling trade on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.
