We had a wonderful meal with friends, a private room and the food and staff were all fantastic. Will definitely be back.

A lovely Sunday lunch. Although short staffed everything was excellent

Three of us had Sunday lunch here after a recommendation. I can only say it was the best experience for years. Greeted at the door in a friendly manner by the staff and asked if we wanted some pre-drinks at the bar before moving through to be seated. The atmosphere is really charming and they haven't tried to pack in as many diners as they can, it feels airy and not cramped. Service was prompt, the staff were exceptionally polite and attentive and the prices were sensible. The food that came out of the kitchen was hot and all arrived at once with three different dishes chosen. If I could give 6 stars for the food I would, a truly excellent experience and one that we'll be returning to again.

We ate here with another couple and had a lovely evening. Food was good, two of us had steak which was cooked beautifully and came with generous portions of veg, also had mushroom on toast starter which was creamy and on tasty bread. Boozy cherry tart was a winning dessert as was the banana and toffee cheesecake. Wine as you would expect was good quality. Service was friendly, they forgot a glass of wine ordered at the table but were quick to rectify and service was efficient in everything else. We had three courses with two of us drinking wine. If you are a larger group you will be in a private room and asked to pre order from the menu as it is a medieval building with a domestic sized kitchen. Overall an atmospheric venue, friendly efficient service, tasty menu and great wine. We will be back.

The food is scrummy, the atmosphere relaxed and the service tip-top. Third visit and it has never disappointed. Great menu, suiting meat, veggie and fishe eaters.

Good food, very friendly service. Dog friendly environment. (We took dog bed in as it settles dog down, staff found us appropriate table so we could all sit comfortably). Dog was bought some gravey bones. Small courtyard well done. Had a good evening here. Would use again. Old beam and plaster building. Decor fitting to building. Lots of smaller rooms for dining. Feels very cosy. Staff very friendly (and have a sense of humour!) and where effective without being overpowering. We started in back courtyard but where quickly found a suitable table indoors when it began to rain. All in all, enjoyed visit and would use again.

*2023 Update* Went again today and it proved itself once again as my favourite restaurant in Suffolk! The lamb was excellent, as was the summer pudding. There are not many restaurants that manage to get everything right, but Number 10 does, in my opinion. The food is excellent, possibly the only place I have ever been where I would be happy to order anything on the menu. The portion size was just right too. The service is relaxed, but efficient, friendly but professional. The decor and music were tasteful too. I'll definitely visit again the next time I'm in Suffolk.

Beautiful food. My mushroom starter and Salmon en croute main were tasty. The salmon was a bit overcooked but when I was having such fun it didn't matter. Luscious wine.

Not a fan of leaving one star but in this occasion it has to be done.Well it's pretty obvious in Number 10 that if you are NOT! a local you are certainly NOT! welcome. Too worried about the Grand National, say know more.. All huddled together in there little circle of conservatives buddies. What a shame as have always enjoyed coming to number 10 even went out of our way to visit today Never again

We popped in for dessert and drinks. What a find!! Chocolate and hazelnut mousse is delicious.....like dreamy delicious. Excellent wine list. Lovely staff. Great music. Sooooooo relaxing. Love it here. It just perfect here.

Friends from USA had 6 hour round trip drive to take me out to Number Ten for lunch. Said best meal can remember in UK for years. It is my absolutely favourite restaurant. Great Staff. Superb food Unique ambience, set in ancient beautiful building Highly recommend and friends planning to return, especially, to eat at Number Ten again.

We booked for Sunday roast after being let down by another restaurant in Lavenham that couldn’t cater for my dairy free requirements. I called and we were offered a lovely private dining room for the 6 of us. I told the lady on the phone that I am dairy free & she said no problem, we’ll look after you and she was right. We arrived and menus were handed out and straight away she told me what I could have. There was plenty of choice. The chef even made me a dairy free chocolate mousse, which was INCREDIBLE! My friends all enjoyed their food and only clean plates were left at the end. The service was great, food delish and atmosphere chilled but buzzing & good value for money. Really recommend and we will return when meeting up with our friends again! THANK YOU

My parents, kids and I had a lovely time at this restaurant. It’s housed in a beautiful old white building. We were made welcomed as soon as we stepped in. The lady who served us was so pleasant and friendly! I think she’s the reason why our dining experience was special. The dishes have generous portions and were delicious too. We all had a great time and would come back again.

We were made very Welcome! We hadn't booked and it was very busy so they suggested to come back an hour later. There was a lovely atmosphere and the food was great. Nothing was too much trouble and we all had a lovely time!

A really good enjoyable evening. Everything spot on The food was excellent and the venison, ale pie, chocolate orange torte outstanding. Lovely attentive staff, helpful and friendly. What a treat.

We took our friend's out to dine here for his retirement, had a lovely tasty meal, the service was great, good atmosphere although we were sitting near a very noisy loud table but it didn't ruin our evening, if I had to fault anything I'd say my husbands chicken skewers were a miniscule portion even for a starter & his Ale pot pie was very small, really a child's portion but everything else was perfect.

Best Sunday roast I've had in this area. Really well cooked roast lamb, just pleasantly rare, with beautifully crispy roast potatoes. Very generous portions, but without compromising on quality. Very good wines on the by the glass list. Can't understand the negative reviews below. Staff were very friendly and attentive (apart from being hard to get the bill, as always, everywhere)

They just told me that they are full but they have empty tables, when I told them that o could go to the terrace they told me that the kitchen is full… I guess that it was another thing because usually when a place is full they tell you to wait…

This was an excellent choice of venue for birthday celebration tea. (I was a guest.) Cosy venue, attentive staff and delicious eats and drinks.

The pub has a nice, lively atmosphere (though I wasn’t a fan of the music, which was unnecessary). The staff were really nice and the service was quick. But the prices are high, and you get very small portions. £20 for a small, top crust pie, a dollop of mash and 2 pieces of veg. The small portion makes you more likely to order dessert, which my partner did. £8.50 for a simple tart that looked like it might have come from a bakery for a couple of pounds. We shouldn’t be spending almost £60 for dinner (one drink each), and be walking out hungry. If you’re charging high prices for basic fare, the portions need to be more reasonable.

Very nice atmosphere. Garden cosy and lots of umbrellas so one could stay outside in light rain. Friendly staff and owner. Good food, at least what we eat. Beautiful building, easy accessible located few steps from another building featured in one Harry Potter movie. Recommended

Visited on a Sunday evening for a wine and sharing platter. Amazing … really generous and also incredibly good . Sat in the rear garden - perfect Sunday summer. Loved it! Definitely recommend.

I had steak salad and new potatoes and the plate was very oily and spoiled the meal and I did not feel well later - I don’t know why there was so much oil on the food as it would have been better without any dressing

Fantastic lunch (King Prawn linguine, Chicken and fish finger sandwich) 5* with great friendly service. Definitely going to return on our next visit to Lavenham.

All I can say is this place is officially the worst place I have ever been. Came in with my partner and had the rump steak, asked for medium rare and it came out all rare. Don't really like blood dripping out of my food as I'm not a cannibal. Avoid this place at all costs , the service was awful when I complained and the chips were also incredibly cold. When I went into the toilets there were skid marks and there is a lack of hygiene in this establishment.

According to reports, the restaurant treated friends disrespectfully due to the girl's nationality, which was Brazilian. This type of treatment is incompatible with modern times of transnationalization and weakening of borders through tourism and immigration.

They treated me and my friend very badly. They were extremely rude! My first time in England and I thought the experience would have been a lot better. Never coming back

A warm and friendly welcome Is guaranteed. That's what this wine bar promises on its site. One of the things that attracted me to this particular bar, alongside its quaint location. Well, that soon went out of the window after being verbally asailed and down right humiliated by a member of the bar staff, this I should add was also after having spent a tidy sum of money. I was absolutely appalled at how me and my partner where treated, me in particular, I was made to feel unwelcome and unwanted I was completely speechless, just in shock at the vulgarity being displayed to me. If I could give it 0 I would. Unbelievable.

Now this is a great place, have had 2 visits, the staff are so nice and the food was just 1st class.

Very poor service- the hake dish was so bland and we left most of it. The waitress ignored the complaint and just asked if we wanted dessert. Also the steak was grisly and the sauce watery. Our worst meal in Lavenham.

Good food at a reasonable price

Was there for my niece's hen do. Lovely venue, set in an old tudor building, we had an area all to ourselves for 12 people. Coukd not fault the food, generous portions, all freshly cooked and very tasty. Staff professional and friendly with just the right amount of attentiveness. We all had a great time. Thoroughly recommend 😊

I agree with all the good reviews below. A remarkable place where to dine. The atmosphere is unique!!! The food tastes marvelous, it brings back the old-british tastes. I would say it is a "must to dine in" if you are in Lavenham or close by.

We had the loveliest meal, Joanna and her team were just the best, we were made so welcome and had some of the best pizza we’ve had in a long time! Thank you so much for having us, A must visit when in Lavenham!

Excellent restaurant needs a outside menu for dinners to see before going in or walking past as they may think it might be too expensive.

Excellent food and service good menu was pleased that we went in to ask to look at the menu as we would normally just walk past when no menu on show outside don't know if it would suit or taste or may be to expensive.

Six of us walked to Number 10 on Saturday for lunch and it was absolutely brilliant. The women serving us were helpful, chatty and gave us great service. The starters of garlic prawns, lamb kofta and garlic mushrooms were delicious, as was the seafood gratin and salmon we had for mains. The cheesecake and profiteroles - yummy!! Such a special lunch out with family and friends, highly recommend to anyone passing through Lavenham or living locally. Considering the quality of the food, wine and atmosphere, totally worth every penny!

An excellent establishment. Despite my arriving half an hour late, they set to and looked after us valiantly. Food splendid, particularly the sauces. This a. Medieval buildings, with all the atmosphere that such a place should have, but with all the trappings of a 21st restaurant. I would recommend it without reservation.

Tonight I enjoyed a fantastic meal! Honestly it would have been extremely hard to fault. My partner is coeliac and unlike some places Number 10 were fantastic with allergies! Would recommend and will return.

Staying in Lavenham for a few day's, so we decided to visit for a drink. Charming little place, so we booked for the restaurant the following evening. Lovely atmosphere the food was wonderful and the staff were very attentive. Highlight of our stay so far.

This is just the sort of place my wife and I love to go for an evening meal out. The food was great (and the menu was much more appealing than the sample menu on the website) and the service was attentive without being at all intrusive. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxing, in such a lovely old building. And we're glad we followed the advice from other online reviews, requesting the "alcove" table (table 1, I believe it is), which is in a repurposed inglenook fireplace and removed us just a little more from the rest of the room. A lovely evening out, very reasonably priced.

First time visit tonight but we will definitely be back when next in the area as the food was delicious and the staff were lovely and very welcoming. We went on a Monday night and it was full but I am not surprised it is so popular as it is simply delightful.

Good food, great ambience and very friendly staff. We were up from the smoke, staying opposite en route to Southwold, but fancied something a bit livelier for the evening. No 10 definitely fitted the bill, look forward to returning.
