Stopped for coffee cycling en route from London to Bedford. Great service and lovely coffee which i had on the benches outside in the sunshine . Take applepay too which was useful as left my wallet behind.
The Duck is one of our favourite places to eat in the Woodbridge area. Like the other pubs owned by Vernon Blackmore, the food is both exciting and delicious. Our last visit was in December when we enjoyed an excellent confit duck main. My dad had the pheasant, which he thoroughly enjoyed too. Service was efficient and friendly as usual. Highly recommended.
Whilst visiting the Abbey church and wonderful gardens on a cold April day, we came across this cafe at the end of our visit. It was cosy, warm and welcoming. We ordered two coffees alongside red velvet and victoria sponge cake. The coffee was smooth and not bitter and the cake portions were generous and tasty.
Played 18 yesterday as a visitor on this fantastic course. The course itself was in superb condition; the greens were particularly impressive, running fast and true. There is a great variety of holes - only thing it is perhaps missing is a couple of short Par 3s but I found it thoroughly enjoyable. Can’t wait to play here again.
Siggy a wonderful host, served us superb fish and chips, cooked to perfection, thankyou we celebrated Terry's 81st birthday with family, highly recommend, ⁰
Lovely welcome and good flat white. Only issue is with outdoor seating - two fairly large tables with one couple on one and a singleton on the other. We had a dog so sat in the square as neither party prepared for us to join. Would be brilliant to have 4 smaller tables we thought - would help the issue!
Went with my husband for a quite drink when the owner turned up caused a scene with the landlord & landlady he then called the police accusing them of things they hadn’t done baring in mind there were two witnesses in the pub us , the owners sisters then came in saying she has called a gang to come up to sort them
Out bad move in front of paying customers , the police then turn up in riot gear who nearly tasered my husband On false lies the owner told them , nobody should buy the lease on this pub from the owner as the village will boycott the pub while he owns it keep away from this pub at all costs The owner has ruined a village pub since he has taken over just over a year there has been 4 couples trying their hardest to run this pub it is a white elephant

The best food I've ever had. The staff are lovely and helpful, they take pride in their food. Also very accommodating for people with allergens, food requirements 👌
There were many things wrong with our experience at the banham smokehouse. To begin, when we arrived, we were told that they were heavily understaffed and that our booking had not been properly arranged. We waited in the lobby for a good 5 minutes as the staff scrambled around the restaurant, ignoring us as we waited for someone to actually tell us what was going on with our reservation. When we were finally seated, we were handed grubby, paper menus that had food stuck to them. Our drink orders were taken efficiently after we sat done, however, the same cannot be said for our food orders. We waited almost 20 minutes for our orders to be taken as the staff tended to other tables, some even had their desert orders taken and had finished eating them before we had even made our orders! Despite being understaffed on one of the busiest days of the year for food service, either the manager or owner (someone of great responsibility when it comes to running the restaurant on such a busy night) sat down and spoke with one of the customers the whole time we were there… over an hour! Not helping staff members with the management of the restaurant despite the fact they were (again) understaffed. It is incredibly rude to the staff members that had to work extra hard to accommodate customers and quite frankly unprofessional. When we finally got our food, about 25 minutes after ordering, we were quite underwhelmed by the portion sizes. despite paying £17 for a chicken burger, what we received was just not up to the standard that we would expect for £17. The chips were lukewarm and hard when they came out, the only bearable part of the meal was the mac and cheese which was fantastic! When we had finished our meal, we sat with dirty plates for about 20 minutes before a member of our table had to ask the waiter themselves to take them and provide us with a desert menu. We decided on our desserts quickly, however was met with the disastrous service once again. At this point there was only about 2 other tables to cater to, yet we waited around 10 minutes for someone to take our order before ultimately deciding it was not worth it and decided to pay and get straight out of there. Overall, the food is mediocre at best for an extortionate price and the service is shocking… so do not bother! Definitely not one to come back to!
Visited here last night as a group of 8,was very busy and there is a reason why,the service was ok nothing special but the food was really nice ,great sized portions and very tasty, not the cheapest in the area but you get what you pay for will be back sooner rather than later
