Juboraj in Brentwood

Juboraj is my go to Indian restaurant in Brentwood. Food is fantastic, staff are lovely & always accommodating for seating. Exactly what you want from your local Indian.

Always really nice food here! One of the best Indians in the area! Doesn’t use loads of food colouring or oil. Chicken korma and saag paneer are really good!

Still as amazing as ever, the chicken pathia has such a kick and who could ever imagine sweet sour and hot would come together as such a fantastic dish! Great service and staff, there’s a reason I’ve been coming for 16 years!

We live in Germany where the Indian food culture is not, in my opinion, as developed as in the UK. Hence, whenever we visit the UK we look hard to find an Indian restaurant to make the most of our visits back home. We have been to Jubaraj several times both on a visit last year and our most recent visit in May. We are addicted to this restaurant! An extensive menu and every dish we tried has been delivered consistently, with excellent friendly and helpful service but most importantly with exceptional taste. This really has become our favourite Indian restaurant. Some stand out dishes for us were the Bengal Lamb Chops (mouth watering just thinking about them) and the House Special King Prawn (made especially hot for my partner who had this three times in a row on our last trip. Highly recommended.

Honestly the best Indian in Brentwood. Always get the staff to recommend dishes and choose what I eat! They haven’t let me down yet! Can’t recommend them enough! The staff are wonderful and always happy to help!

I come here all the time the waiters are so sweet and helpful. They always suggest us new dishes to try and we have found so many new favourites we would have never tried before if it weren’t for them! :) everything is cooked to perfection and the food is so addictive

Haven't been here for age's and was blown away with the quality of the food.The place was buzzing and even though the staff was very busy the service was good. Food fantastic, it's back to it's root when Ali first opened.

Visited here Saturday evening and the food and service is very nice,don’t feel rushed and staff all friendly,we had king prawn on puri and chicken chat to start which are good size portions,we chose adnak chicken for mains which was new to us and it was really nice,not the cheapest around but very nice none the less

Tonight is my 15th anniversary of discovering and eating here. From the first meal here, to the last, I have always been amazed by the taste and attention to detail in the meals - as well as being well looked after. My first 10 years, I was known as Mr Mick or Mark at Amstrad - no idea where the mick came from. It’s been affectionately know as my second home and I’m sure I’ve averaged a meal a week here until lockdown! The Ami Thumi, Nawabi shank, Chicken Pathia, Mixed grill, amongst pretty well everything are highly recommended - as is the Kingfisher! Thanks for looking after me for the last 15 years!

This curry was so good and the glasses were even better. Really nice glasses to put your wine in and drink your wine and drink more. We love this place sooooo much it’s awesome it’s great. Please try the Kulfi it’s great.

Was reccomend this curry house as the best in Brentwood, booked well in advance and was great to see it full on a Saturday night. Food was average, atmosphere ok and waiters seemed a little rushed off their feet. Three issues I had; Was drinking Kingfisher on draught, after my second I was given a bottle instead - a heinous crime. Onion Bhajis were not fresh, tasted like they had been microwaved. Soggy middle, no real crunch one should expect. Also a first but I had potato in my rice? Not too sure why but I let that slide…. After enjoying my succulent meal and paying for it I ordered one last drink for myself and my partner, however as it arrived I was randomly asked by a waiter “how long I was going to be” as they wanted the table back. After a look of disgust they back tracked and said I would be welcome to move to a table by the bar - I responded “absolutely not” In short this is a average curry house loved by Brentwordians who don’t want to venture further afield. 5/10

I am not from this area however due to business over the past 12 months I have visited the restaurant at least 4 times a week. Each and every time the food has been fresh & tasty, with generous portions and very friendly & knowledgeable staff who are not over familiar & they let you take your time to enjoy their food. If you want the best then go to the Juboraj Tandoori.

Amazing food, amazing service. The Parthia is a favourite of mine and this one was right up there. Service was friendly and quick but not rushed.

This is a local gem. The service is outstanding and the food is off the chart. The Bengali lamb chops are to die for. Love this place. Feel so comfortable and looked after. If you haven’t been, go.

Went for a curry with friends. The menu says ask about allergies, including dairy, nut, etc. Turns out there are NO main courses that are vegan! The waiter was terrific and we ended up with a veg byriani without the curry + 2 vegan side dishes. Great food but needs to add vegan friendly dishes.

The food was very good but again the service less so. Firstly, the actual table service could be improved and second the wait time for food was nearly 60 minutes. We had to ask several times to place our order followed by a long wait without explanation. Pity when the food is actually very good.

Having had a busy Christmas cooking and entertaining, we decided to order a food delivery from here on 28 December. The food arrived promptly and was hot and flavoursome. My lamb garlic chilli was full of juicy chunks of lamb and delicious, well balanced flavours. My wife’s Chicken Ceylon was equally nice and my in-laws, who shared a chicken tikka biryani, we’re delighted. Would recommend this place highly and will be ordering from here again soon.

Been coming to this restaurant for the last 30 years on and off. The old owner I guess has leased it to the new guy. The food is great but the service and attitude of the staff is lacking. It’s a real shame as this has been a great restaurant in every respect for donkeys years.

I'm always on the lookout for a decent curry house in Brentwood but they just can't match the standards of East London. I did my research and picked this place to deliver a top quality takeaway. I ordered a shami kebab, onion bhaji, plain naan, boiled rice and a lamb tandoori madras. Total cost £23.55 on the just eat app. This is expensive for a delivery for one so I hoped the food quality matched the price. unfortunately it didn't. Firstly, I was told delivery would be 45mins but it turned up late. Secondly the food was just bad. I started with the kebab. The shami was swimming in clear greasy liquid. It tasted ok but I've had much better. The onion bhaji was awful. You could taste the flour from the batter more than the onion. Biting into it was like chewing on cardboard. The naan was cold but tasted fine. The boiled rice was also cold. The lamb tandoori meat was tough as old boots and the madras sauce was Luke warm and flavourless. When I plated up the rice and madras, the plate was swimming in clear greasy liquid again. A poor effort and overpriced for the location and quality. I hope this review saves you from making the same mistake I did ordering food from here.

Visited for an 18th birthday for daughter with family, was absolutely disgusted. Had poppadums thrown at us before we sat down then struggled to order drinks. After finishing poppadums we still hadn’t been asked for our meal order. We asked three times to order our meal and each time was told ‘in a few minutes ‘. Our forth time of asking staff if we could please order our meal resulted in us asking, I assume, the manager. The ‘manager ‘ then informed us quite rudely and forthrightly, that we wouldn’t be able to order our food yet as three other customers were before us on their schedule. That is, we had to wait until three other parties were ready to order their meals before we could order ours. I’m not sure what angered me more - being told as a paying customer in a restaurant that I had to sit and wait my turn to order anything or the fact that the ‘manager ‘ was in no way shape or form apologetic for the issue and instead was stroppy and becoming forceful that we should NOW ORDER - I presume to put an end to the scene we had created. Never again will we visit this place, one of our previous favourites. Atrocious behaviour and attitude.

I came here with one of my best friends. The food was to die for. Perfectly spiced, attentive service and the beer was decent. Would recommend the pashwari naan, delicious.

Ordered a takeaway using Deliveroo ... food arrived hot and was excellent. One of the best Indians meals I’ve had.

Lucky we weren't really hungry when we went for dinner here. The service was terrible! It took an hour and a half to get our food. We had to ask for our drinks three or four times. No apology from the waitress and food was just ok. However on the plus side we still had a good family evebing out and they gave us complimentary drinks at the end of the meal!

My wife and I have been trying to find a new favourite Indian restaurant since our favoured local closed down. The Juboraj is a 20 minute walk away in, with at least 4 Indians closer. But we’ve found our new favourite and we’ll not be returning to the others. Now we’ve tried 5 main courses and loved them all. Very varied, but you can’t go wrong reading the detail on the menu. We will be back again soon.

A belated christmas office do , food good , no complaints , let waiter order a selection and we werent disappointed , service goid considereing a big group , well behave but a little noisy , we were left alone , we wirk just up the road so will definately use again

Last night I had planned with a couple of friends to go for an Indian in Brentwood. I've been to well over a dozen Indians and this is by far the worst I have been to.

This place has been our regular Indian for 11 years. New management have continued the high standards of service and food. Good buzzy atmosphere at weekends, need to book at busiest times. The Toklas are good, and my family generally rave about the chicken tikka madras, my favourite is the chicken tikka garlic, the naga chicken and the land Shanda. Rarely has an off day. Staff friendly and obliging, only one thing I would say is one more staff on Friday and Sunday Saturday would be good. Top place

We had a really lovely family meal at Juboraj on Sunday. We were made very welcome as were the children (5 and 7). The food was tasty especially the sizzling cocktail and chicken balti. The nan was fluffy and delicious. It’s a traditional curry house and definitely worth a visit.

We called here on the off chance and found the food to be excellent, The tikka was mouth watering and my wife loved the Vegetarian options even though they where only on the menu as side dishes. Friendly staff too.

Wow!!! The food in this rather old school Indian is superb and well worth adding to your curry house bucket list.

I had Korai Lamb with pilau rice. It was really nice and tasty. A new dish for me! Our son had Lamb Tikka which was a dry sizzler dish. He loved it. Our meal ended with a small chocolate. 👍

I've used the Juboraj infrequently over a couple of decades now. Years ago it was noted for everything edible being dyed red (or at least that's how I recall it) yet somehow it was always up there in my top ten of curry houses. I've visited a few times recently now I work nearby, popping in for an early dinner before going to band rehearsal. Not all visits have been rewarded with curry as stellar as this one, though they've all been on the good side of satisfactory.

Beautiful food from start to finish, popular place with a good local reputation. I have eaten here for many years on an occasional basis, never disappointed.

This has been my monday night treat for over ten years. The food never disappoints and whilst I've seen the staff turnover more than most they are always very friendly and polite. I often visit with suppliers and more often than not they are hooked and we are back again within a few months. Chicken Pathia, House special and the lamb shank are my particular favourites! Highly recommended.

Eaten here many times, and most recently visited again. A really good Indian, so much choice, friendly staff. So reasonably priced too.

18 of us booked for last Friday. The waiters kept us fed and watered through out the evening. Fair play to them all. Starters mains had great flavours and the meats so tender. No 1 left disappointed. A great night. Thank you

We were staying at the Premier Inn in Brentwood and looking for somewhere to get a good curry nearby. Juboraj came to the rescue and we had a lovely meal there, all of the food was very tasty and well presented. Abdul and his colleagues were friendly and chatty, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming. Highly recommended!

We have discovered this Indian in the last few years and my family live it.. we now. Celebrate our birthdays here.. the staff are very lovely, the food is always piping hot and all served at the same time, which when there's 16 of you is a big thumbs up from me.. it's not a one off every time we go we have the same great service and same great quality of food.. looking forward reward to our next birthday celebration.

I guess it is too much to ask these days of a quiet, peaceful early Friday evening meal! I also ordered a Rogan Josh which turned out to be disappointing. However, I have to say our usual experience of Juboraj is much more positive.

Having lived in the Area for decades, our prior visits to this restaurant many years back, were underwhelming to say the least.What a surprise for us, a warm welcome awaited us on our visit, after getting good reviews from our friends group, we thought we would try it once more. Our daughter is a pescatarian, so a different challenge to the chef. We were not disappointed, good staff recommendations and choices.Reasonably priced, excellent service, we will return. Try this restaurant out.

Have now been to the Juboraj 4 times with my partner. She has been a regular visitor over the last few years and loves the place. Busy every time I have been so booking is recommended. Generous portions and a wide choice on the menu, ranging from traditional favourites to chefs specials. Attentive staff who their best to make sure your visit is enjoyable.

We visited at 8pm on a Friday evening. We received a warm welcome and there was a good atmosphere. It was busy as you would expect but the service was still good. Curry was very good as usual. It is not over complicated like Rajmoni across the road. Good value as well

Since moving to the area I've been looking for a decent Indian restaurant. I've tried a few and have generally been disappointed by bland boring food. Not the case for Juboraj, good decent spicy food, good customer service and cold refreshing beer. I've been in twice now, 2 weeks in a row and will definitely be going back soon.

I imagine you'd expect most restaurants to be busy on Saturday night but at 8.30 pm every table was full.We came back 45 minutes later and they found us a table.It's located a stone's throw from Brentwood railway station, very easy to find. It's a large clean restaurant, bright and pleasing on the eye without being designer chic.The menu boasts all the usual suspects at prices replicated in virtually every other Indian in the area.The food is mid to high standard, no lows and few exceptional highs...Just good and excellent value for money.It's a date night low key restaurant, a curry with mates, not really an anniversary or birthday treat. I liked it but didn't love it.

Even though I've moved to the other side of Brentwood, I still travel to get my takeaway from here. Their food is of a constant high quality every time I've eaten from here. Good stuff guys!

Wide-ranging menu (but they'll also cook what isn't on it, too). Clean and comfortable, with the tables not too close together, that you have to join in your neighbours conversation!The food is fresh and tasty and fairly priced.

Had a very enjoyable meal at this restaurant when visiting relatives living in the area. We have been fans of Indian food for over 50 years now and rated this meal highly. I had a chicken Biryani and OH a Lamb Madras, both were tasty and correctly seasoned. The service was very good. We will definitely visit this restaurant again on our next visit to the area.A tip for anyone staying at the Premier Inn. The restaurant is an easy 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and for those who like Indian food a good reasonably priced alternative to the hotel restaurant. The restaurant is also open at lunchtime.

I am an avid lover of indian food. I've tried indian in many countries and for some reason everything indian just tastes different and sub par in England.I always eat the same menu and try out the foods of my dining partners. My typical indian menu is:Vegetable SamosaChicken Tikka MasalaPlain NaanMango LassiSome kind of indian beerThe vegetable samosa is small here and the sauce for it isn't as pronounced as in other restaurants.The chicken tikka masala was sweet, which was quite unusual.There was no Mango Lassi. That was very strange and sad.The naan was a bit too puffy.Now the interesting thing is that we went to the Raj a different day which is up the same street and it was almost entirely the same. Maybe it's the same owner or maybe all indian food tastes the same in England. Either way we were not content.We asked to get seperate bills for company reimbursement reasons and they refused and brought us only one bill.All in all, it was a pretty bad experience.

Fantastic, called in late and wasn't disappointed. Had lamb and chicken both very very tender, sauce was the best. Highly recommend this restaurant, staff were very friendly and attentive, nothing to much trouble and very helpful in choosing and describing menu. 10/10

Have now tried most of the Indian restaurants in the Brentwood area, there are quite a few, I'd put this at Second which is very very good. Food is tasty, service was good and fairly priced.

Been to almost every curry house in the area and this is the nicest hands down. To top it off great service and even gave us a free bottle of wine with our takeaway. 5 out of 5.

We was the first customers when they opened at 5.30, and the service and food was great, and I couldn't believe how busy it got so early on a Saturday evening, will definatley go back

Working nearby myself and a few colleagues were looking for somewhere to eat. We asked around and a few people told us the Juboraj was the best place to go.with plenty of parking it looks very unassuming from outside. Inside it looks like any other Indian restaurant which is no bad thing.Drinks and poppadoms ordered along with the usual pickles. Starter was a bit of everything Ami Thumi (onion bahji, Samosa and chicken tikka) which was well cooked with no grease in site. Tasted quite nice as well.Main was the mixed grill which came with Naan bread. Which was nice but not blown away by it. Colleagues had Lamb curry which again was nice but not wonderful. I think it could have done with better seasoning as it seemed a bit bland.All in all a good meal and I would happily go again.

We have now been here about 6 times over the past 3 - 4 months and have been impressed each time. The quality and flavor of the food is excellent. Service has been fantastic everytime, very polite, efficient but never rushed even when they are packed (which seems to be most of the time!). we have had takeaways as well and this is just as good which I find is unusual. Highly recommend. Slightly more expensive than some of the other Indian restaurants in the area but you get what you pay for.

We went here last Christmas for our xmas dinner. It was recommended to us by our manager. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a good indian meal. We love Indian food as a family and regularly frequent different restaurants. When we moved nearby to Brentwood station we visited a few different local ones. We came to the conclusion that Juboraj was the best out of them all.However recently the quality of food has definitely let them down. The chicken has seemed a strange texture like you find with cheap meat and the lamb dishes we have had also were not of a good standard like they have been previously. We hope that this will resolve in the future as they have a great atmosphere in the restaurant and friendly staff.However, for now we will travel elsewhere.

So my present favourite Indian was fully booked so I returned to an old favourite. Not disappointed at all very good in fact. I have been using the site for many years very good Indian meal, food is of a high quality,well priced food and drinks ,good service and overall very pleased with our visit, yes its a Curry but a good one,spoilt in Brentwood with good Curry houses this is one of the oldest and best.

A superb Indian meal. I went there with a friend and we were both delighted. My North Indian Garlic Chilli Lamb was a perfectly balanced mix of tastes and texture. The Chicken Balti was also delicious. the service was relaxed, friendly and efficient It's a little bit pricier than the indian restaurants I usually visit but I'd rather pay the couple of extra pounds and have excellent quality - which is what this was. The portions were just right too - normally I can't manage a full meal but I nearly did with this one.

We have been going to the Jubo Raj for many years and it has always been of very good quality. Lovely friendly service and great value. As good a curry as I have eaten anywhere.
