Good local pub. Inside can get crowded easily but there is some nice outside space with glam pods. Definitely worth a visit post MTB ride in nearby trails.
Excellent food and service from start to finish.
This is very local to us, but still always a treat to go and enjoy. Regular specials in the menu and the coupon that own and run the restaurant are fabulous.
Ingredients and standard of cooking is outstanding.
I visited with my family for a birthday dinner, and unfortunately, the service was not up to the standard we usually receive here. We were the only table in the restaurant, yet our waitress (a blonde lady) seemed more interested in her phone than attending to us.
When our mains arrived, our glasses were empty, but she didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks, missing an opportunity to sell a bottle of wine. Additionally, she didn’t check back a few minutes later to ensure everything was okay with our food, which is a pretty standard part of good service.
The food itself was as nice as usual, but three of the meals were served on cold glass plates, causing the food to also go cold quickly. This was a small but noticeable detail.
On our way out, my mum politely shared her disappointment about the service, hoping it could be taken as constructive feedback. Unfortunately, rather than apologizing or addressing the feedback professionally, the waitress made a disrespectful face at her colleague behind the bar (who normally does serve) as soon as my mum turned away. This lack of professionalism aggravated me and prompted me to write this review.
This has always been a local place we’ve enjoyed, but tonight’s service was far from what we’ve experienced before. If more attention was paid to customer service, the restaurant might not be so empty on a Thursday night.
This was my first visit to the Rainbow Cafe. Our walking group of 11 walked along the prom both ways and returned for our pre ordered lunch.
Our meals were served very efficiently, the meals were nice and hot, I chose a steak and ale pie, new potatoes, and an individual dish of fresh vegetables.
I managed to squeeze a Baileys Roulade in for my dessert, it was absolutely delicious.
The cafe is bright and clean, and the sun was shining in today.
The waitresses were very busy, the cafe was full and the never stopped working.
They were very pleasant and were polite and couldn't do enough for us.
I will certainly be returning and telling my friends about this little café. Well done to everyone working so hard in there.
From Ronnie, from the 12.30 walking group.
A lovely afternoon tea that was all very tasty and a great selection of savoury and sweet options. Beautifully served by the staff who were very attentive.

Cannot fault this restaurant..
Wonderful decor and lots of parking. The music nights are good fun.
El servicio fue excelente y la comida excelente. Gran pasta y pizza. Desiertos caseros y una gran variedad de bebidas. Estaba comiendo en familia y todos disfrutaron de la comida y el ambiente.

Works do, about 10 of us. Friendly and welcoming. Comfy and clean. Good selection of beers and broad selection of food on the menu. Our table had a mixture of burgers, mixed grills and pizza. All served hot and at the same time. The pizza was really, really good. Wonderful base and lovely toppings - I only intended to eat half as it was huge but ended up clearing my plate. Look forward to returning, we're looking to get out more and sort out somewhere for Christmas to. Would happily return with work colleauges or family. Good value to. Zero hesitation in recommending you give this place a visit.
Just had dinner here tonight. Food was good quality and very tasty and portions were large too. We could easily have shared a main. Very good service too and reasonably priced. If we didn’t live 3+ hours away we would definitely return. Thank you
Visited for Sunday lunch after a chilly walk at Ickworth. The pub is very pretty, although parking is limited due to building work at the back of the pub garden. Service was friendly, and the menu, although limited, looked good. At £19 for rib of beef I had high expectations, however what arrived was pretty miserable. Three thin slices of incredibly overcooked beef (I don't think it was rib, but I could only have been sure from dental records), three roast potatoes cooked in their thick (inedible) skins, one small Yorkshire pudding, cooked from frozen, one stuffing ball, rock hard and also cooked from frozen, two carrots, one small piece of broccoli and a tiny piece of parsnip. My wife's vegetarian parcel main course was also from frozen and pretty tasteless. We ordered two pints of soda water, which came with ice, no lemon, and only filled 3/4 the glass. These were £3.90, each! Most pubs charge a minimal price for soda water, given they add is a bit of CO2, and have to wash the glass up. £3.90 is daylight robbery. The pub was also freezing cold where we sat. A very disappointing experience, I would not go back.
