Went in here at last minute. Very good food and drink, excellent service and price. I had chicken satay to start and grilled sea bass and vegetables. House white wine to drink. Husband had ribs and chicken pad Thai. Tiger beer to drink. Definitely will return.

The service was wonderful. Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating. This is the best restaurant in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried this place twice now, definitely won't go back, the food was horrendous. Prawns in oyster sauce, was like Prawns in hot water, no taste whatsoever, noodles were clumped together, a sticky mess, inedible. Thought I'd give the place a second visit, never again...

Best Thai food outside Thailand! I drive 12 miles for this takeaway even though we have a Thai restaurant in our home town! It's that good.

I had a great meal with friends on Friday night the food was fresh, hot, and truly delicious!!!! Very friendly staff and good value for money. I would recommended to book during the weekend as i was lucky enough the get the last table they got available for Friday night.

Food lovely, no problems there. We got in with no reservation, however we were placed at the back of the restaurant out of the way. Starter came out very quickly and was very nice. We then waited over 40 minutes, and then had to ask where the main course was! After another 10 minutes we were served! Overall food was food, but the service puts me off going again.

Got in without a reservation so good start but did seem to be seated in a hidden corner. Ordered our food and starters came out very quick and was nice. After waiting an age for our mains I finally asked how long it would be to be told just 3/4 mins. Finally turned up a further 15 mins latter Also even when being asked what we wanted to eat our empty bottles wasn't taken away from our small table The food was nice But can't see me going back

Update: used to adore this restaurant, but my recent visit left me utterly disappointed. The excessive noise was beyond tolerable; it felt like an assault on my senses. Despite finishing my meal quickly, the raucous atmosphere drove me to leave prematurely. There seemed to be a group of rowdy trollops their drunken revelry disrupting the ambiance for everyone else. I politely requested a different table, hoping for some respite, but my plea was denied without explanation. It left me wondering why we were seated in such a chaotic spot in the first place. Overall, it was a regrettable waste of what was meant to be a delightful night out. Also meals are tiny.

Ordered a takeaway and had to throw the whole thing in the bin. Watery, greasy and no flavour at all!! Use to be our go to place but not anymore. Major let down.

Once again a delicious dinner of chicken penang. Succulent chicken and lovely king prawns in the s/f rice No “shrinkflation” here.

I ordered dim sum, followed by chicken panang with special fried rice. After paying and taking it home I thought it was a bit expensive. However it was worth every penny. An assault on the senses. It looked great, smelt great and the taste! Excellent. I’m so glad I tried another dish - but I have a problem - Thai Green, Red Curry or panang?

Had a takeaway here this evening. Usually choose Chinese and don't often eat Thai, but this meal was absolutely amazing. Cooked on time for collection, only 30 minute wait, and cooked to absolute perfection. So very tasty. Will definitely be ordering again.

Having spent months in Thailand a decade ago, I was transported right back with the incredible food here at Imjai Thai. Try the Panang Curry - you will not be disappointed! Thankyou, Korp Koon Khaap!

Food is not great. Visited a friend and got take away from here. Had to wait 20 mins in the resteraunt before the food was ready. The resteraunt is basic with stark lighting and terrible decor. The toilets are disgusting. The whole place needs a refurb. Food was not great either. Don't live in the area but if I did I wouldn't be going back.

We hadn’t been out for a Thai since the Thai in sudbury closed down which was quite some time ago! So we decided to take the short journey to Halstead to try Imjai. As with all things new we were a little apprehensive, especially as to begin with we were the only ones in there ( we did go early). However I have to say the service was brilliant from start to finish. All of our starters were great. And the mains seriously nice! All of them. Fresh and tasty. I asked all of the children if they would come back and it was a resounding yes! Which is something believe me!!

We prefer to eat early evening; The Imjai Restaurant opens at 17.00 and have visited this restaurant on several occasions, thus trying almost everything on the menu, we have thoroughly enjoyed all of the various dishes. We have, however, never had 'room' to consume a pudding (having been so well replenished). The prices, including the drinks are very reasonable, and the staff helpful, engaging and very attentive. Altogether a relaxing experience.

Having travelled throughout Thailand, we have real experience of the incredible food vibrancy, flavours and host hospitality. Unfortunately none of which are found here. The food is not authentic, it is westernised and I would think many items are not scratch made but sourced frozen.

A taste of Thailand! Well, I don't usually leave a review so soon after a visit but I've literally just polished off half a Beef Massaman, Chicken Penang, coconut rice and sweetcorn fritters and I need to rave about this place!! Ordered takeaway, which was ready on time and steaming hot. Warm enough to eat after a 30 min journey home because it was so well packaged. The curries were just wonderful, full of flavour, rich and creamy and good sized portions. The homemade chilli sauce to accompany the fritters was yummy! I have missed Thailand during the pandemic and am counting the days until I can return but Imjai has afforded me a little taste of that heaven! Will definitely return and most definitely recommend. I went there on Saturday night and the food is really good and service is great even it was a very busy night did not have to wait too long. The portion size is generous. Definitely returning back. Highly recommended!!!!

Thai it's my favourite. I have been to several Thai restaurants in several parts in the country, including the far East. I can honestly say this was my worst Thai ever. Chicken with greasy covered in bread crumbs...perfect for Hart attack. Restaurant was really noisy at no point they ask how was everything...took ages to serve 1 hour. Avoid there is much better out there. 2* because was cheap otherwise would be a 1*.

Ordered and collected a takeaway (20% discount for cash and collection). Easy to park right outside. Really good authentic food, piping hot and good portion sizes. Duck spring rolls were especially good, not greasy and freshly made. We will definitely be returning! Thank you!

Best Thai food you'll get around Halstead

Friendly staff and well presented food with the right spices/ingredients but the onion used in the food was not fresh and tasted weird/spoiled. That ruined the experience completely for us. Will not be returning. 3 stars for the friendly staff there.

Friendly customer service and delicious main dishes! My only regret was the shared starter plate which was a bit small/dull for the price (£12,5).
