This is my chosen local. We are always made welcome. Great food. Great friendly atmosphere. Gin and beer distilled on the premises. The best good old fashioned British pub experience in Halstead.

Nice to see 3 ales upon our visit .Two of us chose the same while the other had something different . On the second round I thought I'd have to come back for the third pint!, but a member of staff (without being asked ), brought the third pint over !. Also nice to see a pub put out some roast potatoes on a Sunday !.

Driving through Halstead we stopped on the off chance. Great friendly traditional pub. Really cozy. Food looked great. Good local ales. Dog friendly.

What an amazing restaurant. I stayed next door at the travel lodge for a week on business and used the Baltic Amber Restaurant daily for lunch and dinner. The staff are very lovely never been to a restaurant where the staff go the extra mile they look after you from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The food is a very delicious and the portion size is also amazing. If you’re looking for a lovely meal and a friendly place to go I would highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

Maldon RoadLovely place, wonderful service - but the food was exemplary. I had the fish and chips, and it was possibly the best I've ever had. I asked if they added heroin to the food (it was THAT good) but I'm not sure they got the joke. I'll definitely be going back. Not for the heroin, though.

Church St, Gestingthorpe, Halstead CO9 3AU, United KingdomWe picked this place as a stopover and so glad we did very welcoming on arrival and nothing was too much trouble the room we stayed in was so quiet and large well worth the money and backed onto open fields.we found it was the owners 2nd day and what a great job they're doing even with the new technology 😀 and the food is a different level both evening and breakfast well done we will return 👍
