Lichfield Chippy in Great Yarmouth

Absolutely awful waited a long while for our food to be delivered and when it finally got here it was stone cold and half the food was missing ! I phoned up and complained and they wasn’t interested in the slightest . The food was chucked away and decided to go to the fish inn at Bradwell . will not be using litchfield chippy ever again dreadful !!!

I came here on Saturday for some fish an chips an straight away I was greeted by the person at the front desk who was lovely, I ordered 2 large cod an chips an a kebab an I must say, the food was amazing, the 2 cods were huge an the chips were lovely, would definitely recommended coming here if u are visiting the area or if you live near by

Got a simple order wrong of fish and chips and just gave me a fish with pushy peas, once firmly asked about it they just defended their position on the note said fish...not the point. Had to then drive back get my chips, they should of got that delivered to me at no cost...but no, still charge me for the chips so then I had to eat hot chips with a Luke warm fish......batter was a quite soggy even tho they did cook it fresh. I wouldn't recommend especially at the prices they charge as well

Food was so delicious and really quick, they were able to make the adjustments we requested. We love this place for its massive menu and wonderful options. A great chippy that deserves so much recognition for the sheer amount they offer.

Terrible chip shop,unreal greasy food, super hot chicken, over priced me had to ask twice for a refund as they got it wrong. Wait time was about half an hour Till lad had attitude wouldn't go here.

Used to be a welcoming place before was taken over, The quality of the food has gone down massively, everything is swimming in grease and dosent taste as good anymore. Wait times are long and don't order delivery for God sake, not only me, but my friends have ordered online from here too and it took them almost 2 hours to arrive with the food? And the other time we gave up and cancelled the order it took so long. This place has gone down hill massively. Amd the last time I went I was over charged. My order was 13 and they charged me 18 i had to ask for a refund. The southern fried chicken was made with some Indian spices or something defo not southern fried at all, blows your head off!!! Seriously go somewhere else.

Food arrived on time it's like they serviced us the left over food as we ordered L cheesy chips for £5.60 they were M mushy peas & curry sauce they were regular supposed to be L at £2.10 each cod was under cooked it taste nice not enough for the price I hate buying food & still feeling hungry afterwards

Nice small place while providing a massive menu with lots of quality dishes and they all taste amazing, there's nothing bad that I can say about this place whatsoever.

Been using this chippy lots and never had an issue until today. Firstly I pre-ordered for 7pm as family wasn't arriving till 6.30, half the order turned up at 5.10 but 2 pies and 2 fishcakes missing. I phoned and was told they would look into it and get back to me. They didn't. So I called again half hour later, I was told the camera shows the order was in the bag, I had emptied bag and put food in oven to keep warm as family wasn't here yet. 2 pies and fishcakes were definitely missing. I was basically accused of lying. It wasn't until I pointed out how often I had ordered from them previously that they said they would resend the rest of the missing order, which came an hour and a half after the rest of it. Unfortunately the pie was extremely overcooked and was inedible. But I was more upset about how the issue was dealt with.

Haven't ordered from for a while Not up to their normal standard. Chips Luke warm. Sausages rubbery. Ordered large chips. If that was large i wouldn't like to see a small portion

We collected from here last night and it was amazing! Best fish and chip shop we’ve been to by far. The large chips were actually large, definitely enough for 2 people to share, all the food was hot and very nice! Curry sauce was great too! The battered mars bar was the best thing to end this meal with. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Amazing quality and portion sizes for the price! Thank you Litchfield chippy!

The food is always absolutely lovely, haven't had 1 thing off the menu that didn't taste amazing and so much to pick from and thr place is just squeaky clean and thr owner is so polite and kind and same for all the ppl working there as well, absolutely recommended this for life!

Completely no atmosphere very quiet no one speaks no music no radio the person who served me had a right depressing look on his face. When asked if wanted salt and vinigar the owner put it on for me. The cod I had was disgusting mushy no texture like it had been frozen very watery and the batter felt stale also the chips felt stale too very not happy with quality of food or service

Incredibly friendly and able to cater to gluten free dietary restrictions with a great variety of choice. I've made it a weekly thing and the food is great every time.

I ordered nachos with every single topping and it was delicious. Highly recommend coming here, the menu is massive. You name it they it! Karl and kumar were extremely friendly and made a perfect meal for me!

We had a massive pizza from here yesterday, half pepperoni and half margarita and the whole family LOVED it! Everything tasted so fresh and lovely! Can’t wait to try more of the stuff on the menu! Will be back very soon!

I went here in March 2024 for the first time, and was very impressed with the service, and quality of the food. I would definitely go back again. Lived in the area until 1962 and came back in 2024, sampling the excellent food. First class in every way. Very impressed with Mr Kumar and his establishment. Thoroughly recommend going to Lichfield Chippy.

Fish and chips are a true delight! The fish was perfectly cooked with a crispy, golden batter and the chips were wonderfully crispy on the outside and fluffy. Outstanding service. Highly recommended!

Witnessed a member of staff verbally assaulting a customer, and the way it was handled (or rather lack of handling) was appalling. It made me really uncomfortable to publicly witness this happening in the middle of the shop, and there was no attempt to stop the member of staff from using such foul language in front of customers, with the other staff simply allowing this staff-member to hurl abuse at this customer while she was waiting for her food. The food is okay, but I can't really say much more, as chips are just chips in most cases. Definitely not good enough to put up with that sort of behaviour. People behaving like this in public is bad enough, but to treat a customer in such a poor way in what seemed like a public display of dominance should be saved for role-play in video games, not real life. I would be lying if I said that I trusted these people not to spit in their customers food. It made me uncomfortable to even in my own home acknowledge that I was eating food from such a place. *Edit: Being accused of malice for leaving an honest review is unprofessional, but could be seen as understandable in some cases. However, attempting to give away someone's personal details (stating my apparent family members including a name) on a public website without my permission is considered doxxing and is a crime. Accusing a customer of lying because they left a bad review is simply petty, but I have seen that the owner has responded aggressively to multiple people for their comments on the frozen food, dry chicken, lack of sauce, missing items from order, etc. Rather than being able to take criticism as an adult and saying things such as 'we are sorry that your food was unsatisfactory; we will do our best to use this criticism to improve', as most businesses will say even if the statement isn't true, this owner responds by calling their customers liars, and in a twist of irony, I believe maliciously tries to bring up their customers private details to spite them. This is a crime, and I personally take it very seriously. 'We already taken the staff from serving your grandma': No, the boy at the counter said 'I'm not serving you. You're a dirty piece of sh*t. All of your family are dirty pieces of sh*t.', and he allowed someone else to serve, and continued to stand aside making nasty comments and swearing whilst the rest of staff did nothing to intervene. But I'm sure that your CCTV has a microphone and you already know that, right? 'Your personal vengeance against your family member': I don't have anything against that boy (although after this, I wouldn't happily approach him for obvious reasons), and I'm not sure what family issues there are, but from what I saw, the boy recognised the lady, refused to serve her, the lady just continued to order her meal, and the boy was allowed to verbally assault the lady up until she left. In regards to the food quality, all I ordered was plain chips, and I stick by my statement that chips are just chips, and it's rare that there's anything special about them. I'm sorry if it upsets or offends you to hear that, but judging by the other reviews I'm not missing out on much else. If that was your idea of 'excellent customer service', I'm worried about your idea of treating people poorly. As far as I'm concerned, if you believed that the customer was starting a quarell, it is your duty to say 'I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave', but you didn't, so clearly no-one there thought that the lady was doing anything wrong. However, your other option (and the obvious one in this case at that) was to ask the employee if he was okay, offer him to have some water and come off the shop floor, ask him what the problem was, and evaluate how to proceed in future. You didn't do any of that, and if you did, it was after I left, and you let it continue without interruption, which is not intervening. You put a sticker on a gaping wound; this was neither appropriate nor adequate. Your responses are libellous. Not only a disgusting 'service', but even more of a disgusting response.

Loved this place before today. Staff member verbally abused my mother and brought her to tears, management witnessed this and when asked what they would do about this did nothing. What an absolutely disgusting way to run a business... *in response to the reply: my family did not bring a feud or dispute into your business, your member of staff did by verbally insulted and verbally abusing my mother whilst trying to make a transaction. You were asked politely as an employer what you intended to do about this, and responded by saying you had not heard or seen anything, which was a lie. The member of staff then verbally abused me directly in front of you, and again, I asked what you intended to do about it, and you stated that it was a family feud that you knew nothing about. Neither my mother or myself had said or done anything to warrant this behaviour from your employee, and you did not state at any point that you acknowledged what had been said, or that you intended to do anything about it. Regardless of any personal issues, staff members should always act in a polite and respectful manner towards their customers. The employee could easily have requested not to serve and allowed another member of staff to take over, but they decided to start insulting my mother, and indeed my whole family, and you did nothing. As a Manager myself, I can assure you that none of my staff members would have treated any customer this way, regardless of the situation. Also, your response is quite rude and almost threatening in its wording and tone. I can assure you that not one member of my family, or indeed any of our friends or acquaintances will be frequenting your business ever again. Shameful, disgusting behaviour.

Took over 1.5 hrs on a Tuesday night for food to arrive, cost £29 part of order was missing food was cold and poor quality portion size small this was the first and last time I'll be using them

This was a meep (hit and miss) for us, but we are going to order again in future to see if things are different. We downloaded the app and placed our order before the chippy opened. It got pushed back twice while cooking but was hand-delivered by the very apologetic and kind owner. The food was piping hot but there was long, black hair in the packaging. The hot dog and sweet potato fries were great! All the cheese on the cheesy fries was attached to the paper that had been placed over it, and they were so greasy my son couldn’t eat them. The fish was great! The tikka masala loaded cheesy fries were very oily and odd. There was no sauce and there were crisps in as well? But they were soft. The chicken was dry and there was no sauce. Sauce would have been so nice. My husband could not eat his. I tried to eat mine but gave up and ate my son’s fish instead. (And the fish was lovely!) The jalapeño poppers were not spicy and the cream cheese was liquid. The battered mushrooms were not seasoned and very oily. The kids loved the battered cream eggs and Mars bar. Like I said, we are glad to have tried this place and will give it another go in future. It looks like we will be ordering hot dogs and fish with potato fries 👍

Not used chip shop for a while but thought we would have a chippy tea tonight, asked the young man frying if he could put us 2 pieces of cod in all I got was a finger pointing to the person serving iam assuming he ment to ask him not to sure as he didn't speak just pointed so I turned around and walked out you loss is Cobham fish bar gain.

There's nothing like fresh fish and chips when you go to the coast for the day! Looking at the reviews of Lichfield Chippy, I was quite excited to see what they had to offer - unfortunately neither me nor my partner can say it lived up to the nearly-5-star rating... We both had a regular fish & chips with a large pot of curry sauce. The chips were slightly undercooked, not inedible, but more white in colour than they should be. The curry sauce had chicken chunks in, which is good... Except there was probably more chicken/other bits in it than actual curry sauce... It was so lumpy with so little sauce that we weren't "pouring" it on, we were rather scraping it on in clumps instead which was a shame because it actually tasted decent. Finally, the fish... I'm not sure if they were slightly overcooked or not but my batter was dark brown rather than golden brown. And being by the coast I would expect "melt-in-your-mouth" freshness from the fish, instead there was a very slight rubberness to it which let it down. Overall, it was ok... But unfortunately it was nothing special on this occasion, maybe it was a one-off, but I'm not tempted to try again to find out.

Visited this fish and chip shop after seeing great reviews online. We were not disappointed as the food we got was lovely, freshly cooked and piping hot. It is a little out of the way for tourists but definitely well worth finding. The staff are very polite and friendly. When this direction in the future we will be paying a visit again.

I've been going here for years and the quality of ingredients and cooking has always been excellent. The menu is big and varied with food being cooked freshly to order. The guy who cooks is always good for a chat while you wait. One of the 3 fish and chip shops in this area that are the best in my humble opinion.
