The best restaurants in East of England

Poor service long wait time Medicare food. Visited on way back from Norwich absolute mayhem no organisation and waited an hour for food - when it arrived basically frozen food deep fried

We stopped off for the first time yesterday as having passed by may times sow e thought lets give a go. First impressions were good but beware of low beams if your 6ft. We were kept waiting so long that we were on the verge of walking out but we were glad we stayed as the cream tea and coffee were very good and we will be stopping off there again and the waiting time was a one off.

No reviews since 2022. I wonder why? Different ownership? Went for a coffee before visiting sealife centre. Well I thought I was speaking a foreign language. Asked for an Americano with Some cold milk when one of the kids serving had to ask how to make it!!!! Eventually was asked was it a black coffee I wanted!!! Also ordered a Latte… well it had hardly any milk in it. Coffee was tasteless and looked like dirty dish water in the glass mug…. A complete waste of £6 When I took them back to complain and said what was wrong the young lad just said ‘Bye’ I hope others read this. Maybe it was the coffee machine but these young lads working in there could not have cared about a customer complaint

This is my favourite food and drink spot in Leigh on sea ( and there are a lot to choose from) Staff are great, friendly and helpful. The garden is lovely with chill out music playing discreetly. The food is great, homemade and good portions. I wish it opened on Sundays!

Thoroughly enjoyable visit for the luxury afternoon tea. Staff always visible so service was prompt and efficient as well as friendly. Really impressed with the gluten free option provided, I had almost exactly the same as my non coeliac husband . Great presentation and all tasted amazing. I would definitely recommend and definitely return.

Perfect little country pub, low ceilings, bright, warm, bar and restaurant areas. Great for a little lunch or party. Visited on a Sunday for lunch ..

A local pub for the local toffs, not for someone passing through or anyone new.

We have tried a number of Indian restaurants in our local vicinity, Cafe Masala in our opinion is our favourite. We have never had a bad meal here, portion sizes are just right and service is great. We go at least twice a month, in fact we are going this evening!

The cake choice is superb, spoilt for choice which is good!

Second time visiting here today and just as great as the first time - portion sizes are excellent with a lovely side salad (with melon too!) and delicious coleslaw too. Will definitely be a regular spot for when next in the area!

Had a lovely evening at The Chambers. Food was excellent. Amazing flavours, totally different experience from your standard Indian restaurant with a nod to traditional style Indian food served in a modern way. Serving staff were attentive and friendly. Decor was modern and good atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.

We held a wake here & couldn't be any happier with the event. The food looked & tasted amazing, with plenty of choice for everyone attending. The service at the bar was fast & efficient so lots of happy faces, despite the reason for the get together. A huge thank you to Caroline & Liz for the attention to detail, the service at the bar & for preparing a delicious spread at a reasonable price, & at relatively short notice. We cannot thank you both enough. XX

Really disappointing and left infuriated as even we had booked online for 2pm on Sunday, we were not served, as on arrival, the waiter told us that there was a Christening party held and the restaurant was closed. When I said we have a booking, she kept saying that it says on all the social media that they are closed that afternoon. Well, I do not follow them, we just booked through the website that was running as normal. I was waiting there at the counter for my husband who was parking and the front person kept saying that it's closed. I said I need to clarify because we do have a booking made so clearly something went wrong. When my husband came, she said "well again it says everywhere on social media we are closed". I understand the glitch, but the way we were treated was below any standard and actually it was the restaurant that was at fault, but no liability taken. Shocking! Customer service and marketing at the lowest level possible.
